Fun Fold Cards

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  My upline Pennie has a FB page where lots of her downline share ideas!  My friend Janice shared a fun folded card there and she graciously gave me the measurements, so I made a couple of my own.  (I will share the measurements at the end of the post.)  My first one features Love Blossoms DSP, Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler along with Something to Say, Remember This, and Friendly Wishes:

So the front of the card looks like a regular card (I added some twine to hold the folds together), but when it opens...tada!

The smaller right panel folds under the larger left panel, and you can decorate all three of them any way you like!  Here's the inside:

The second one features Birthday Bouquet DSP and Suite Sayings:

I used Watermelon Wonder and Blushing Bride for my colors and since the DSP has a fairly large pattern, I chose not to decorate the smaller panel and use just a simple sentiment for the front!

Here are the measurements:
  • DSP:  4 x 3 1/4" and 4 x 1 1/2"
  • Mats for DSP and back of card: 4 1/2 x 3 3/4", 4 1/8 x 3 3/8" and 4 1/8 x 1 5/8"
  • Card base is 10 1/2 x 4 1/4, scored at 1 3/4", 3 1/2", 7" and 8 3/4"
  • If you want to add an optional layer to the inside:  4 x 3 1/4"
Have fun!  Any questions, give me a shout!

A little snow fun:

Enjoy your day!

PSC2 and CCMC386

Hi peeps...a little late today, but I wanted to get this card in before Tuesday...it's for a new challenge by Julie Davison called Pocket Sketch Challenge!  Here's the sketch:

Pocket Sketch Challenge by Julie Davison www.juliedavison.com

And here's my card:

My SIL's birthday is New Year's Eve, so I pulled out some glam stuff to make a birthday card for her!  Gold Foil and Champagne, Black and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper along with some Go Wild DSP fit the bill for Create with Connie and Mary's color challenge for this week too!

CCMC386

I used star dies from the Mini Treat Bag and Circle Card thinlets, the Lucky Stars embossing folder, and the Something to Say set for the inside:

Thanks for visiting today!

KJ235, RRBC30 and FMS198

DSCF1193

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Another thank you card….almost through my list…this one incorporates the Kraft Journal’s Back to School challenge; the By The Numbers challenge at Retro Rubber:

RRCB20

and the Freshly Made Sketches sketch:

I have to give a nod to my stampin’ pal Linda Callahan, as she inspired me by her card here!!  I took a little different tack with my back-to-school theme!

I used some diecut letters and numbers that I received long, long ago from another Linda, and using dsp from Schoolhouse, I stamped the sentiment from Something to Say in Smoky Slate ink.  I also used a ruler embossing folder that I am embarrassed to say, have maybe used once, but it seemed appropriate for the “numbers” challenge!  Finally, some denim ribbon and three gold stars finished it off!

And it is in the mail!

John is tired of losing electricity out here in the country, and finally bought a generator, so there has been lots of digging and dismantling as he wires it up to the house.  Of course, Cassidy wants to “help”!  Here, she is stacking up the bricks as John takes them out of the patio:

We all thought the final effect looked like a zipper!

More later…..today, we’re off to the Herr’s Potato Chip Factor Tour!  Enjoy your day!

CCMC362 and CTS130

DSCF0703

Happy 4th of July everyone!  Wishing all my American friends an awesome day!  A lot of birthdays popped up in my reminder calendar, so I thought I’d better get to work!  I never seem to have enough masculine cards, so I thought the color challenge from Create with Connie & Mary was a good one, and appropriate for today:

CCMC362

and I incorporated it with the sketch from CAS(e) This Sketch:

I used the image from Amazing Birthday, stamping it in Lost Lagoon and Real Red and did some old-fashioned “cut and paste”!!

Stars were from Something to Say, and the birthday sentiment is from Sprinkles of Life.  I cut the banner with the Banner Triple punch, adding a Lost Lagoon mat.

I used the Delicate Designs die and EF (retired) to create the edge on the white panel, and embossed my Crumb Cake card base with the Large Polka Dot EF.  I love the dots AND the colors!!!  Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy went to a wedding a wee bit back, and had fun dancing with her little girlfriend!  Their dresses even matched a bit!

Enjoy your day! Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge, too!

Mojo Monday 401 Grad Card

DSCF0423

Happy Friday peeps!  Hope you have a great weekend planned!  I needed to make a few more graduation cards so for one of them, I used the Mojo Monday sketch for this week:

I was wracking my brain, trying to come up with a different set to use that would encourage and congratulate a new graduate, and I remember the Papertrey set, Star Prints.  I pulled out some star-studded DSP from MME called Fly a Kite, then stamped my images in some matching colors and mounted it on a Pear Pizzazz card base:

I did emboss the smaller panel with the Star EF from SU; added some baker’s twine atop my little zigzag panel, and added a red rhinestone to the center of the star:

And here’s the inside with sentiments from Class of 2015, Something to Say and again, PTI’s Star Prints:

It was fun to mix and match sets!  Thanks for visiting today!

Well, it’s not officially summer here in PA, but you couldn’t tell from the thermometer yesterday…hot & sticky!  I got out the Slip & Slide, extended it a wee bit with another piece of plastic, and Cassidy and her cousins had a blast:

5 YO Trent went at it full blast!

DSCF0439

Cassidy was a bit more lady-like!

DSCF0437

3 YO Jack never let up…he was like a sliding machine!

And after a few slippery attempts, 2YO Chaz just decided to throw water on everyone!

Fusion and CCMC358

DSCF0272-001

Howdy peeps!  A whirlwind week and weekend here in PA, so this will be short & sweet!  I have a graduation party to attend, and I even though I thought the Fusion inspiration photo was AWESOME, I only used the sketch:
as well as the Create with Connie & Mary colors:
CCMC358
So here we go:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Congrats Graduation Card Paper Pumpkin Stampin Up

Sentiment is from Something to Say; balloons are from last month’s Paper Pumpkin; stars were stencilled on with So Saffron ink.  Although it’s tough to see, the popped up stars are Gold Foil, Hello Honey and Gold Glimmer:

and I stamped the Class of 2015 stamp on the inside with the sentiment from the Paper Pumpkin kit too:

Paper Players 233 and CTD330 and JAI251

DSCF8079-001

Hi everyone!  It’s Sunday, and that means another Paper Players challenge!  I love Sandy’s sketches, and this one is no exception!  Here we go:

When the new Butterfly Thinlet first came out, I just had to use it, and I haven’t done a thing with it since!  So I thought it would be pretty with this sketch, but I did have to rotate it to make it fit on my thank you card:

I also thought the colors from the Color Throwdown were lovely for a springy creation….we certainly need something like that on these cold days:

They listed their colors as light & dark green and orange, so I used some lovely Calypso Coral paper from Gold Soiree line and I diecut the butterfly pieces from Pistachio Pudding and Confetti Celebration DSP:

DSCF8081

Although it’s hard to see here, the circular element is stamped in Pistachio Pudding using the outline floral image from Hello Darling, and the flowers and sentiment are from Something to Say; I used the same sets on the inside as well:

DSCF8083

A few well-placed pearls added some elegance, and my card is ready to mail to one of my wonderful customers!  And since it is a thank-you card, I'm entering this in the Just Add Ink Just Add Thank You challenge as well!  I hope you’ll play along with our sketch this week…it’s a great one!  Check out what the other designers did as well:
