FMS600 Happy Hallo-scream

Hey there, stamping friends!  Today is a VERY special day!  Freshly Made Sketches has reached a milestone 600 posts!  And a few of us are chipping in to help them celebrate!  I have been a big fan of FMS for as long as they've been around, started by the talented Lesley Croghan!  So let's get right to it!  Here's the fabulous sketch they're using for the celebration today:

When I saw the circular element, my mind went to Cottage Wreaths, and I wanted to get a start on my Halloween cards, so here we go:

I stamped the wreath in Pumpkin Pie and Early Espresso and diecut it with a circle die.  I found some black and white gingham to create my bow, then added a little diecut spider to spooky it up a bit!  A fine-tip black marker created the cobweb from which it's hanging!

My sentiment is from a very old set called Fangtastic...isn't it a hoot?  I heat embossed it in white on Basic Black cardstock and diecut it with the Stylish Shapes dies.  The inside sentiment is from another oldie called Eat, Drink & Be Scary, and I punched it out with some equally-as-old punches!

My horizontal panel is some Pumpkin Pie DSP and I mounted everything on a panel embossed with an old Spiderweb embossing folder!  I love this layout and I loved giving some old as well as current goodies some use! I do hope you'll play along with the Freshly Made Sketches 600th sketch this week as they celebrate!  Woohoo!

IB146 Spooky

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Time for a new Inspired By challenge and it's a CUTE one!  Check it out (along with the optional sketch):

Isn't that an adorable pillow?!  SO fun!  I don't have many ghost stamps, but I did find one in a CTMH set from a couple years back....paired it with some fun black and white papers to come up with this:

All the images except for the little spider are from the same set....I stamped, cut and popped them up, then added a black glimmer border on each side of my striped panel and a few black glimmer stars as well:

The spider is from a real old SU set; I didn't think about how the words wouldn't show up on the striped paper (duh) so I stamped them again on some Naturals White cardstock, then cut and pasted on top!  And here's the inside:

I hope you'll play along with our challenge this week....be sure to check out what the other designers did at the Inspired By blog...they're AMAZING!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Talk about spooky:

ColourQ158

Woohoo!  Happy Tuesday, happy stampers!  ColourQ challenge today, and check out this trendy inspiration Arielle has for us today:

cqc158

Sort of reminds me of something from Harry Potter, right?  I have SO MANY Halloween stamps, it took me a while to figure out what to use, so I used several:

(I wish this photo didn’t look so washed out….the colors are really more intense IRL!)  I heat embossed the witch’s hat from a retired SU set with Versamark and Detail Black embossing powder, then colored in the unembossed portions with markers.  A little glitter is always a fine accessory for the well-dressed witch, don’t you think?

My sketch is a fun one from Fab Friday:

And although it’s difficult to see, I embossed a few images on the card front as well:

And I had almost as much fun stamping the inside as the outside:

I used a circle punch to cut a mask, then sponged More Mustard and Tangerine Tango to make a spooky moon!  FUN!  Please email me if you have any questions about anything I used today!
