Copper Stenciled Roses

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Still playing with the Layers of Beauty bundle and since the JUGS challenge this week is stenciling, I thought I'd throw my hat in the ring!

Inkspirational is also looking for stencils:

And I am also playing along with my old friends as Tic-Tac-Toe; I chose to use the elements from the left column:

I haven't done any heat embossing for a long time, so I pulled out my copper embossing powder, my Versamark ink pad and went to work:

It's fun to experiment with different colors on these roses; to go with the copper embossing, I chose Peach Pie, Copper Clay, Cajun Craze, Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Even though we're in the midst of summer, I still enjoy these fall hues!

I also heat-embossed a couple of sentiments from Unbounded Love and diecut them with the matching die, then everything got mounted on a panel of Basic White that was embossed with the Distressed Tile embossing folder and diecut with the Perennial Postage dies.  Around the edges of my Basic Beige card, since I already had my Versamark pad out, I stamped the smaller floral image from the same set; it gives a lovely tone-on-tone effect that doesn't detract from the main design.  I also added a Neutral sequin in copper as well!  You just cannot go wrong with this stamp, stencil and die bundle!

Cassidy had a friend over last weekend and although our weather has been HOT, that particular evening it was quite chilly.  Wayne had set up a TV to watch on the patio, and the girls wanted to watch a spooky movie:

Sweatshirts, blankets, two bowls of popcorn and two DOGS to keep them warm!  Looks like fun! Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Inkspirational #310 Snarky Birthday!

Happy Monday, peeps!  I have a sweet, funny birthday card for you today.  It uses the mood board from Inkspirational, which is really yummy:

And I CASE'd a really cute sketch that Jaimie Babarczy used here...adorable!  So here we go:

I recently picked up a fun CTMH set at a flea market, and it had this cake slice image and die in it, so I put it to use, stamping it in Mint Macaron and Pink Pirouette.  I added a Country Gingham mat and a Pink Pirouette scallop and diecut a circle from the Everyday Essentials dies.  A little candle, some iridescent gems and some embossing on the front for fun:

And then the snarky part...you definitely would have to be a certain kind of friend to send a card with this sentiment, LOL!

My sister would probably get the humor on this one....but I'll have to save it until December, LOL!  Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy's basketball picture:

She's almost as tall as I am already!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Inkspirational 306 Happy New Year

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I trust you had a good New Year's day....I traditionally spend it "undecorating", and that's exactly what I did! I turned on the Mummer's Day parade - a Philadelphia-only tradition - and went to work!  So now all is back to normal, but I do miss the pretty holiday decor!

I did have a wee bit of time to stamp a New Year's card, something I don't think I've ever done! I send out lots of Christmas cards, but I wasn't able to send one to my dad's cousin, as he and his wife had moved and I didn't have their new address.  On Christmas eve, we got a card from them, with their new address, so I decided to participate in the Inkspirational's Mood Board and make them a Christmas/New Year's card.  Here's the board:

I was inspired by the chevron stripes of black and gold, so I pulled out some Basic Black and Gold Foil cardstock, my Basic Borders dies, and diecut two chevrons.  I remembered some black and white Christmas tree paper from last year's hostess set, and since I wanted to convey belated Christmas wishes as well as New Year's, I paired the paper with the chevrons:

I filled in the stars with a gold Painty pen, and added a few gold sequins for pizzazz!  I gold-embossed this sentiment from Country Bouquet:

and stamped a sentiment from Throughout the Year on the inside:

And it's winging its way to its recipients!  I do admit that I feel a bit rusty in the crafting department, though!  I can't wait to dig into some new goodies!  Thanks for popping in today!

I only got a few pictures from Christmas.....Eden and Ginger in their sweaters lasted about five minutes, LOL!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Inkspirational 290 Thank You for Being My Friend

Happy Thursday, everyone!  Happy June 1!  We're on the downhill slide to the weekend! My friend Jaydee had a pretty card on her blog recently and it directed me to the mood board at Inkspirational:

Aren't those colors yummy?!  I was reminded of a retired SU stencil that I had, and since they scare me a little, I rarely use them! So I mustered up my courage, gathered up some colors and blending brushes and went to work:

I used inks in Old Olive, Parakeet Party, Petal Pink and Calypso Coral for my blending, and a sentiment from Timeless Arrangements, diecut with the matching die.  The dies come with little sprigs to attach behind the sentiment box:

I diecut sprigs in Parakeet Party and Calypso Coral, but I flipped the Parakeet ones around and cut them apart to tuck between the Coral ones so they were aimed in the opposite direction.  Now, I have a question; the back sides of the diecuts never look as clean as the front sides; I say that the back sides look "crusty", LOL!   So do any of my expert stamping friends know a trick to get the back side to look a little less "unprofessional" and more finished?  Sometimes I try to rub them with my bone folder to flatten them out, but these are so delicate, I didn't want to try to do that. So any suggestions would be helpful!

Anyway, all of this went on a Parakeet Party card base and all in all, I like the finished effect.  I was concerned about blending these colors together but I think it worked!  Thanks for hanging in there with me today---enjoy it and be blessed!

Three Tiny Trees

Happy Monday, peeps! Squeaking this in before my stamp girls arrive this morning!  I used the tree die from the Zany Zoo set to create three little Christmas trees for my note-sized card today!

I used the Mood Board at the Peace on Earth challenge for my inspiration:

and the Inkspirational challenge this week is "Mini", so I used three mini trees!

I used three of the lightest ombre shades from the In Color Glimmer paper from last year's catalog; they're Tahitian Tide, Parakeet Party and Sweet Sorbet, and I used a piece of White Glimmer paper from the past Christmas catalog for the background die (Ornae Frames):

The outside sentiment is from Pinkfresh's December Days, stamped in Bubble Bath, and the inside is from  Simon Says Stamp, Christmas Blessings, stamped in Lemon Lime Twist, and since I messed up the stamping of it, I used the matching die to cover it up!!!

I just think those pastel colors are so pretty!  And speaking of pastels, here are Dana's finished coasters:

We're planning a trip to the pottery place for Mother's Day too!  Should be fun!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

SSC272 Rejoice

Hi everyone! Happy Monday!  Hope you had a good weekend! I saw a nice sketch at Sunday Stamps:

as well as a lovely inspiration photo at Inkspirational:

I was inspired by the neutral colors and the greenery on the packages and tree!  And here we go, using some papers from Photoplay and an older Unity stamp:

The image was stamped in Close to Cocoa ink and matted with some Kraft paper; I added some Linen Thread and Gilded Gems for embellishment:

The inside sentiment is from For Unto Us:

Thanks for popping in today---enjoy it and be blessed!

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.  And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6

Pink Poinsettias

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a good weekend! I've been falling behind on my Christmas card making, so I added one card to my stash this weekend!  It fulfills three challenges:  Inkspirational's sketch, Christmas 24's challenge to add glitter, and the Merry Little Christmas challenge is Anything Goes:

I really love things in threes, so I diecut three small poinsettias from some rose glimmer paper and heat-embossed a sentiment from For Unto Us:

Each flower was mounted on some pink DSP:

And my heat-embossed sentiment was done in silver to match the silver centers of the flowers:

The sentiment inside was stamped in Merry Merlot ink:

Another to add to my stash!

To add to our "interesting birds of the spring of 2021" theme, John looked out our window yesterday morning before church and said "There's a turkey walking up our driveway!".  I believe it was a hen (not sure, though) and when I opened the door for a picture, she turned and went across the yard, around the side of the house and into our back yard all the way to the field:

And sorry, this is such a bad picture, I had a glare, but here she is, walking across the little bridge that goes over our creek....and she continued on into the woods!

It's been such a fun spring for birdwatching!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IC235 Easter Blessings

Happy Monday!  Hope you had a great weekend! I have been in full Easter-card-making mode! My craft room desk looks like a tornado hit it, LOL!  This particular card happened to fit the Inkspirational challenge of fur or feathers:

I used a CTMH set from a couple of years ago; I stamped my chicks and bunny on Whisper White cardstock in Stazon ink and colored them in with inks and an aquapainter:

After coloring them in, I stamped the grass and sentiment, then mounted it all on a Pear Pizzazz card:

I just the look on this little chick's face!

My final embellishment was to add a Pear Pizzazz ribbon!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Snowmen Melt Your Heart

Happy Monday, peeps!  I have a fun little Christmas card using a really old Lizzie Anne stamp:

The Inkspirational and Little Red Wagon challenges both feature snow, and Hand Stamped Sentiments has a color challenge:

I stamped the snowmen in Misty Moonlight and colored them in with Blends, then added some glitter:

After diecutting it with the Nested Stitched Label dies, I mounted it on a Misty Moonlight cardbase which was stamped with some snowflakes from a retired SU set, and embellished it with some Old Olive ribbon and glimmer snowflakes.  Here's the inside:

I'll add it to my stash for next year!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!
