AHSC504 You're Grate

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I had a reader ask me about a stamp set that I had used a while ago and while I had it out, I thought I would use it for my friend who is a New Year's Eve baby!  She is a wonderful cook, so it was perfect for her!  I used the Atlantic Hearts Sketch:

And the retired set that I am using is called Perfect Mix!  So here we go:

I stamped the potholder and grater on some scraps of DSP, and the mixing bowl on Very Vanilla, coloring them in with a Blender pen and ink.  It's hard to see, but the upper panel of that card is stamped with a retired background stamp which I think is called Plaid Flannel (I bought it at a yard sale!), and the little bow is retired Bumblebee gingham:

I often cut apart my stamps, separating the sentiments from the images, which allowed me to stamp this sentiment separately, diecutting it with a Stylish Shapes die!  The inside sentiment from Picture Perfect Birthday was stamped in Crushed Curry, and I threw a dozen eggs in there for fun!

Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy's youth group had an ugly Christmas sweater party:

Unfortunately, she got up sick the next morning, so she brought home more than magic!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

RRCB184 Retro Baking

Hi stampers!  Time for a new Retro Rubber Challenge where we show our older stamps some love!  This week, Jane has another "retro" challenge....those of us who are a certain age will certainly remember avocado green kitchens with harvest gold appliances, right?!  Who knows, maybe they'll make a comeback!  Anyway, here's her prompt:

and since we were chatting about remembering our old kitchens, I thought I'd pull out a stamp from 2017 called Perfect Mix and make a "baking" card!  Here we go:

All the kitchen goodies were stamped in Early Espresso ink on some retired DSPs in Poppy Parade, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Old Olive, then fussy cut and arranged on a Very Vanilla panel:

I added a little scalloped panel and some Old Olive gingham, then added a few matte dots for fun.  I also shaded the elements a bit with some Blends.  I added a simple birthday sentiment on the inside!  When I first saw the challenge, I was a bit stymied, but I ended up really having fun making this card!  Hope you'll find some retro inspiration and play along with us!  Share your project with us at the Retro Rubber challenge blog! Just make sure you use stamps that are at least a year old, and tell us their approximate age! See you there!

Thanks for popping in today...enjoy it and be blessed!

TGIF172 One in a Dozen

Happy Monday peeps!  Hope you had a fabulous weekend!  It's hot, hot, hot here in PA, but it is August, so it's to be expected.  I don't think I have ever mowed so much grass in a summer before, especially in August.  With the rain we've been having, our yard is like a jungle!  Anyway, I managed to get in some stamping time over the weekend; I sold a couple of items on ebay lately and I always like to send a little card with the item.  I usually just make a little 3x3" card but I wanted to do something a little special for this customer, as she purchased a vintage Pyrex bowl in a pretty turquoise blue.  So she got this in her package:

I used the sketch from TGIF Challenges:

And my poor old eyes totally missed that swirly element at the top, so hopefully my embossing will be sufficient!  I stamped the images from Perfect Mix and used my blends to color them in.  The DSP is some retired Coastal Cabana from a few years ago, and I recycled a little piece of dark gray paper from something I received in the mail to make my scalloped edge!  The little silver embellishments are the new Frosted Epoxy Droplets from the Holiday Mini....very cool!

And here's another little notecard I made, just using some scraps from my scrap bin, for another ebay customer who bought a needlework kit:

I am pretty sure the designer paper is from an old Cosmo Cricket pad, and the stamps I used are from Paper Smooches, a set called Needle Little Love!  I stamped them on various scraps of DSP and colored them with Blends:

These were so much fun to make!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

These are my last birthday cards to share!

This fun little card is from my creative friend Michele....that little bunny is on a bobble spring, so Cassidy really enjoyed making it wiggle!

And this little country gem is from my sweet friend Wendy...she knows my country-lovin' heart!  Thanks, ladies!

Paper Players 368 A Sketch from Nance

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Today at the Paper Players, Nance is our lovely hostess with a fabulous sketch:

I even followed the colors of the sketch, LOL!  I made two cards for this challenge, as I needed a couple of thank you cards!  I used Laurel's Inspired By: Kitchen Love cute inspiration photo for my colors:

I remembered this cute DSP from a few years back, I am pretty sure it was called Domestic Goddess, and I paired it with the little grater from last year's Perfect Mix set:

I stamped the grater in Pool Party ink and colored it with Pool Party blends, and although you can't see it here, I coated the whole thing in Versamark and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder, so it's cool and shiny!!!  If you check out Laurel's card, she uses an adorable gingham button, so I was inspired to make one of my own with a gingham stamp, a button die and some Poppy Parade ink!  It sits atop a little bow from the retired Cupcakes and Carousels Embellishment kit!!  I added a scallop of white and two banners for the horizontal piece:

And just for fun, I made another one using the flip side of the plaid paper...most everything else is the same, but I left off the scallop border around the circular element.

I have been hoarding this paper, I'll be sad when it's all gone!  Thanks for popping in today, be sure to check out what all the other PP designers created...you can see them all on the Paper Players blog...and share your creation too!

Cassidy loves a little ice cream snack after school, and I made her keep the ice cream in the freezer downstairs....otherwise, I would be the one eating it all!  (Out of sight, out of mind, right?!).  She was tired of running downstairs to get it so she made me a sign and taped it to the fridge:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Retro Mom's Day

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I made a big deal last week about not making Mother's Day cards, and here I am with a Mother's Day card!  I saw the sketch at CAS Colours & Sketches, but I sorta forgot about the clean and simple part, so I used the sketch anyway, but I won't submit it.  I saw that the Graphics Fairy was looking for samples using their vintage images, of which I have LOTS, so I pulled out this retro mom in the kitchen....well, I guess she's a mom--anyway, on my card, she's a mom:

I actually dusted off my Copics and colored her in!  Gasp!  It was a simple image, so it didn't take too long and I didn't do a lot of shading because I'm really not that good at Copic shading, LOL!  I used some really cute BoBunny papers called Kiss the Cook and added some stitched die embellishments, as well as a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes;

and a sentiment from Perfect Mix on the inside....these are so fun for Mother's Day!

Enjoy your day!

We had to take the sliding board down to make way for the equipment, but Cassidy still found a way to play on it:

Be blessed!

Fun Z-Fold Card

Happy Friday, everyone!  I saw a very cute card with a fun z-fold made by my friend Mary Alice! You can see it here.  I simplified it a little for an upcoming class, and also made one for my SIL whose birthday is today!  I pulled out some retired Domestic Goddess DSP along with the Perfect Mix and Suite Sentiment sets:

I stamped the images on thick white cardstock and watercolored them with Pool Party and Watermelon Wonder inks...I just love those colors together! I added a little enamel heart from a past Paper Pumpkin kit; although the colors don't quite match, I think it will do!  I did a little paper piecing for the oven mitt on the inside as well:

Since my SIL is one of the best cooks I know, I thought this would be right up her alley!  Thanks for popping in today!

It was FINALLY nice enough for two of my "children" to run around and play in the yard Wednesday evening, LOL!

Enjoy your weekend and be blessed!

GDP074 Made With Love

Hey, peeps!  A quick card, a quick post....a busy week!  I thought the GDP sketch this week was a good one (although I missed the little ribbon-y thing at the top!):

I wanted to use some images from Perfect Mix and I remembered this Domestic Goddess DSP I have been hoarding!!  The red in it is actually Poppy Parade, but Watermelon Wonder is pretty close.  So here we go:

The sentiment and heart are from a retired set called Kind and Cozy; I made the scalloped edge at the bottom with a Layering Squares die!  All in all, pretty simple!  This might be a birthday card, might just be a "thinking of you" card....haven't decided yet!  But I do love these papers!  Thanks for popping in today!

I took Cassidy to our local library for their monthly activity breakfast on Saturday...they listened to books, did five crafts and then had pancakes for breakfast!  It was pretty awesome!  She did a scratch-off picture:

a Valentine puppet:

and a bear magnet:

We have more crafty things to show you but we'll save them for the rest of the week!  Enjoy your day!

CCMC440 and IMC283 Love You Lots

Yay, it's Friday!  I had a wee bit of time to stamp yesterday and I used the color challenge from Create with Connie and; Mary as well as the sketch from In(k)spire Me:

CCMC440

I've been wanting to use more of the punny images from Perfect Mix and I thought this was a good sketch to do that.  I stamped the image in Basic Black twice; colored one with markers and blender pens and cut it out, then diecut the other one with the Stitched Shapes Framelits and mounted it on a Crumb Cake scallop:

A little dry embossing, a little hole-punching and a little heart finished it up, then I added a little sentiment down at the bottom!

Easy and fun!  Thanks for popping in!

I snagged this photo of Cassidy, ready for bed and brushing her teeth!  That Minion girl!

JUGS New Stuff

Hi peeps!  I had a low-key weekend, only did a wee bit of stamping, and it was easy stamping as well!  I needed several thank you cards, so I did some assembly line-style stamping using the new SAB set, So Very Much and the new Occasions catalog set, Perfect Mix:

I love the little puns in the Perfect Mix set!  I stamped the graters with Basic Black ink on different colors of the Festive Birthday DSP, then stamped the "Thank You" in white craft ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I did add a little shading with some ink and an aquapainter on each one.  The Pumpkin Pie one got some enamel dots as an embellishment in the lower left corner:

And the Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise ones got a thin strip of Basic Black cardstock as their embellishment:

Fun, quick and easy to make!  And since these are new stamp sets, I am entering them in Just Us Girls' "New" challenge:

Thanks for popping in today!  Have a blessed day!

My little snow angel!
