Wee Little Snowman

Happy Monday, peeps!  Late today, and I only have a very quick CAS Christmas note card for you that fulfills three challenges:  the FMS sketch, the Merry Monday red and white challenge, and the Cards in Envy negative challenge!

For my "negative", I chose to punch out a little snowman from a very old retired SU punch, and I backed him with a scrap of Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper, then diecut him with the Stitched Shapes circle framelit:

I added a scrap of polka dot paper from the retired Polka Dot Parade DSP, a little sentiment from Merry Crittermas, and on the inside, a Paper Pumpkin sentiment from November of 2017.  Oh, and I did do a bit of embossing on the front too!  Easy peasy!  Enjoy your day!

MM254 Jolly Moose

Happy Thursday, all!  My Christmas card supply is rather low, so even though I have only one moose stamp, I thought I would play along with the Merry Monday challenge this week:

I finally broke down and got SU's embossing paste and stencils and just played around with them on a little piece of Tranquil Tide cardstock I had sitting on my desk....I just did a portion of it, trying it out.  It really is fun and easy, and it dried quickly, so I went ahead and used it for my Christmas card:

The card base is some retired Kraft paper, and I also stamped my moose image in white craft ink on Kraft as well, then embossed it with white embossing powder.  I used some Chocolate Chip ink to color him in, and Cherry Cobbler for his accessories!  Speaking of accessories, the new mini dimensionals are AWESOME for adhering little bits like the pompom on Mr Moose's hat!

I stamped some star images from the same set and added some Cherry Cobbler Double-Stitched Ribbon; the sentiment is from Merry Crittermas, also retired!  I think this moose looks a little sad, but maybe he's just cold!  Thanks for popping in today!

We went to my nephew's farm to get eggs yesterday; there is always a plethora of cats around and Cassidy cannot wait to play with them.  Most of them are black.....

but there's a little Siamese-looking one that somehow popped into the family:

She wants to bring one home SO BADLY, but sadly, Grampy says "no"!!!  (Wayne agrees!)  So we will just have to get our kitty fix every time we go for eggs!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new As You See It challenge!

SIP72 Foxy Christmas

Hello peeps!  What a busy Tuesday it is!  Two posts in one day again!  If you'd like to check out my TSOT post, it's HERE.  Hopefully things will get back to normal soon!  I was thrilled to be asked by Justin at Stamp Ink Paper to be a guest designer for November!  I just love their challenges!  The first week is always a sketch..and what a nice one it is:

My Foxy Friends set was sadly neglected, so I pulled it out, along with some Presents and Pinecones DSP and went to work:

Now, we all know that foxes are never Mint Macaron in real life, but doesn't this little fellow look cute stamped in this shade? I added some Emerald Envy eyes and legs, a little Cherry Cobbler bow, and a sentiment from the retired set Merry Crittermas:

I added a strip of the opposite side of the pine DSP along the left side, along with a little stitched strip of Cherry Cobbler cardstock!  It adds such a nice contrast!  And I diecut the squares with the Layering Squares dies too!

I hope that you'll play along with the SIP sketch this week!  There are so many great possibilities with this sketch!

Last week, Cassidy brought home a Traveling Panda!  Each week, a student takes the panda home and writes about their "adventures" in a journal.  The following week it goes back to school and goes home with the next student!  Cassidy named her panda Mandy!  We had such a busy week, we didn't do too much with her but I do have a few pix to share!  Cassidy loves to write, so it was a good experience for her!  And Mandy is also wearing a sweater that I knitted for another doll, which makes me feel good!

Enjoy your day!

Happy Leon Day

DSCF0626

Have you ever heard of Leon Day?  Me either!  Well, Leon is “Noel” spelled backwards, and June 25 signals that Christmas is only six months away!  I decided to join Patience Brewster in celebrating Leon Day and since I tend to focus on hand-stamped cards for Christmas, that’s what I went for!  I perused the PB website (there are so many interesting Christmas ornaments and decorations there….so cute!) and came up with this one called Huck Raccoon as my inspiration!  And here is my card, using the retired Merry Crittermas:

I stamped the wee raccoons with Stazon and watercolored them, then added a banner (Endless Thanks and Good Greetings), and oval frame, some red & white baker’s twine and some diecut holly!

Then I stamped this fun sentiment & added a diecut on the inside:

Both the holly & jolly diecuts are from Lil’Inker, as is the sentiment!  I hope you’ll pop by the Patience Brewster website to get yourself in the holiday mood!  Thanks for stopping by today!

We lost our power this week for 30 hours due to a quick-moving storm on Tuesday….not a fun thing when you rely on a well and the pump to get water.  Blessedly,  the weather was cool and not humid, so we didn’t suffer that way!  We got our power back today and now we’re scrambling to clean up…when you have no water, you can’t clean!  Very thankful for the repair crews!

Cassidy made a tent for her little boy doll using a blanket and her chairs!

Merry Crittermas

DSCF7383

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Hope you’re having a great weekend so far! Thank you so much for the anniversary wishes!  We had a lovely day, did some thrift store shopping and then had a nice meal and John got the BIGGEST prime rib I have ever seen.  I wish I had a smart phone so I could share it with you.  It was humongous!!!

I have been neglectful in making my weekly Christmas cards since leaving my friends at Merry Monday, and I know I will regret it if I don’t get a headstart for the next Christmas season!  When I saw Katie’s hysterical inspiration photo for this week’s challenge, I knew I HAD to play along!  Check this out:
Just tooo cute!  I also used the Match The Sketch for this week:
and incorporated the colors from the Curtain Call challenge:

And here is my card featuring the little bunny from the retired SU set called Merry Crittermas:

This is a little more involved than what I normally do for a Christmas card, but it was fun to do some painting and add a few more embellishments than I normally do!  I stamped the wee bunny on a piece of Whisper White, watercolored him in Island Indigo, Strawberry Slush, Crumb Cake and Soft Sky, then fussy cut him out and mounted him on his snowy hill:

I added some Frosted Sequins from the holiday mini along with a few from my stash. My other embellishment is a bow tied with Strawberry Slush baker’s twine, using my one-hole bow technique so it doesn’t slide around!  Of course, I added some snowy glitter too!  So fun!  Thanks for visiting today, and be sure to stop back tomorrow where I am the hostess at the Paper Players!

She is just growing up tooooo fast!  Doesn’t she look like she’s about 12 here?
