CAS66

DSCF7789

I am soooooo far behind in everything today….I feel like I cannot get anything accomplished! I did manage to stamp a few CAS Father’s Day cards, but still need to put some poems or sentiments or something inside. These will be for my Curves basket; the ladies really seem to like cards that are NOT blank on the inside, so I have to step it up a bit! Both cards use the CAS 66 sketch challenge on SCS today. My first one uses a set from H&M stamps, and I made a little “scene” by stamping and masking my images:

I realize that the Copics I used on this one don’t exactly match my SU DP!! Oh well! The next one uses a cabin scene from Stampscapes:

This was a fast card, but it looked a bit plain….but once I sponged on the Bashful Blue around the sky and lake, it looked better….tied it into the DP as well. I don’t like masculine cards to be too fussy, so I just added a little bit of linen thread on this one.

I also wanted to show you some more cards I received lately. This Easter beauty is from my friend Athena and her family:

And a clever punch-out owl card from Kathy:

And I was blessed by winning the Crafty Secrets Papercraft Planet blog candy, from Diane and Jan!!! Diane made my beautiful card, and decorated the gift tins; Jan sent some 3D shadowbox frames like the one I did here. THANK YOU SO MUCH, ladies!!!

As always, if you have any questions about anything I’ve used in my creations, just send me an email! Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful day! Now I need to go CLEAN UP my stamp room! Edited to add: the vellum diecut on Diane's card is the Shapeabilities Lotus Pendant!

Lazy Stamper

Well, I have been a lazy stamper this weekend. Sometimes you just need a break....no challenges to post, but I have lots of ideas rolling around in my head from all the creative blogs I have been visiting! This card was created earlier in the week.....a card for a friend of ours who is an avid hunter and spends a lot of time at their cabin in the mountains. I downloaded some digital background paper from My Favorite Things and printed it on Kraft paper. Honestly, it took longer for me to feed the paper into my stubborn printer than it did to download the file! Since I like country things, I thought having gingham paper at my quick disposal would be fun! The image stamps are from Dad's Outdoors, HandM Stamps, the sentiment is from SU's It's Your Birthday, and the little leaf border (love it!) Charlie's Birthday Card Closeupis from Impression Obsession, Autumn Seals. Each of the images was stamped in Chocolate Chip on Confetti White, then colored with my markers and punched out with a 1 1/4" square punch. Then I punched out a square of Really Rust, More Mustard and Old Olive on which to mount each one. The sentiment was stamped in Chocolate Chip also, and the leaf border in Creamy Caramel. Thanks for looking!

Dad's Cabin

I have been itching to use this Dad's Outdoors stamp set from H & M Stamps since I got it last week. Be sure to check them out, they're having a sale!!! My dad and brother built a cabin where my parents lived until my dad retired and moved to the Delaware shore. Conveniently, my brother was getting married so he & his wife moved into the cabin. It is on the property right behind me (think over the river and through the woods) so I see them and the cabin often! I know this set will get lots of use, especially since my SIL loves to collect outhouses as well!!! This was colored using the Drunken Watercolor method. Also, the striped paper is not really pink IRL....the color just will not photo correctly! TFL!
Stamps: Dad's Outdoors (H&M), IBBG
Paper: Old Olive, Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Basic Grey Stella Ruby
Ink: Palette Noir, Old Olive, many Earth Element colors
Acc: Vintage Brads, Distresser, Aquapainter, Rubbing Alcohol
