TTTC86 Elegant Gold and Merlot

Hello again, peeps!  Time for a new Tic Tac Toe challenge, with Team X at the helm!  Here's our lovely grid for your stamping pleasure:

I chose the left column of Gold Foil/Glitter, Burgundy and Die Cut for my thank you card today:

Merry Merlot is such a pretty fall color, and I used it and a foam brayer to cover one of the gold-embossed patterns from Gilded Autumn DSP, just brayering over the pattern until I got the coverage I wanted.  I stamped a few of the greenery images from Forever Fern in Merry Merlot and Delicata Gold ink (which is sadly retired), diecut them out and placed them against a Brushed Metallic Gold panel.  I added a sentiment from Beautiful Autumn and a few sequins from my stash, then adhered everything to a Merry Merlot card:

That gold ink is very sparkly....too bad you can't see it here!  I added a little extra foliage on my inside layer too, because stamping those little leaves is just too fun!

And the sketch I used is from Fab Friday:

Be sure to check out what the DT created with this tic-tac-toe challenge, and then share your creation with us as well at the Tic Tac Toe blog!  See you there!

AYSI236 Speedy Butterfly

Happy Friday, everyone!  It's time for the weekend, and time for a new As You See It challenge!  Here's our theme for this week:

I totally missed the SPEED STAMPING part of this challenge when I first looked at it, so my first card was "disqualified"!!!  I'll show it to you later in the post! So I got out my supplies, set my timer and went to work, and came up with this:

I used a thick white cardstock base, added a strip of Ornate Garden Specialty Paper at an angle, stamped the butterfly from Positive Thoughts on some watercolor paper with Stazon ink and diecut it out:

I watercolored it with Flirty Flamingo ink, then stamped a sentiment from Beautiful Day at an angle as well, so it fits with the Inkspirational Challenge this week of Angle It!

I also added a rhinestone to the top of the butterfly, which added about a minute to my time, since I couldn't decide which color to use!  Altogether, my time was 4:45!  Not bad!  I did have everything ready to go so, and it was a very simple layout...but it just goes to show that you don't need a lot of time and supplies to make an awesome card!  Now here's the "disqualified" card which definitely took more than 10 minutes to create:

Same stamp set, but I did a watercolor background, added some ribbon and gold trim, and a sentiment from Life is Beautiful.  The colors I used were Mint Macaron, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze, so I am entering this one in the Global Design Project's challenge as well!

Be sure to check out what the other designers did with their speed stamping!  Then get out your supplies and do some speedy stamping of your own and share it with us as well on the As You See It blog!  Thanks for popping in today!

It's been sunny but cool here in the mornings in SE PA; I took this picture the other morning as I sat on the porch to read my Bible and drink my coffee:

I love how you can see the steam rising!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB145 Pumpkin Spice

Hello stampers!  Thursday brings us around to a new Inspired By challenge!  Here's our new photo inspiration and optional sketch:

I was inspired by the colors, the woodgrain, the jar and the little pumpkins to create my almost-no-stamping card today:

All my pumpkins were die cut with the retired Patterned Pumpkins die using Whisper White, Soft Suede, Bumblebee and Smoky Slate gingham papers;  I adhered the outline diecut to a piece of scrap paper and then filled it in with the inside pieces and trimmed it to the shape of the pumpkin.  My jar from Jar of Flowers was stamped on an Acetate sheet and hand-cut because it was too thick for the matching punch!!  I added some leaves, tendrils and foliage, and put it all on a soft gray woodgrain background:

The sentiment from Beautiful Day is stamped in Smoky Slate directly on to the DSP:

And since the Always Fun Challenge is about pumpkins this week, I am entering there too!

I have to admit that the DT knocked this one out of the park...be sure to hop on over to the IB blog to see what they created...then share yours with us too!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Thanks for popping by today!

I try to send Cassidy some word puzzles or some activity in a card occasionally, as she loves to get mail!  She was excited to do a Halloween crossword!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TCC134 Beautiful Day

Hey peeps, it's Wednesday, and that means another gorgeous Card Concept challenge!  Julie floors me with the beautiful photo inspirations she comes up with!  This one is good for Mother's Day, or for any special occasion, really:

My mom is gone, so I thought I would use the challenge to make a thank you card, which I always need for my customers, and I thought it would be nice to use some soon-to-be-retiring products for my card today:

My "Classy and Elegant" card features the big floral from Beautiful Day, and I heat embossed it in Copper Embossing Powder, then lightly watercolored it with some Blushing Bride and Soft Seafoam  inks.  I also used the Bouquet Bunch dies to add some accent pieces.  I tucked some Rose Metallic thread behind it as well:

I tried to create a pretty watercolor background with some So Saffron and Petal Pink inks, but it didn't work quite the way I had planned, so I tucked it into my Tin Tile embossing folder at an angle, to give it a little more interest!  I also heat embossed a sentiment from Ornate Thanks on some Petal Pink cardstock diecut with the Stitched Rectangle dies:

and added a couple of sentiments on the inside as well, stamped in Copper (ret) and Petal Pink inks:

My inspiration came from the flowers as well as the copper picture frame and cups....what inspires you?  I hope you'll share your pretty creation at The Card Concept this week as well!  And I am going to enter this at the Always Fun Challenge this week as well, as they are looking for embossing folders!  Thanks for popping in today!

You know you're tired when you fall asleep with your glasses on!  And check out that blanket!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP480 Sweet Friend

Hi peeps!  Happy Sunday, and happy March!  I am glad February is over....it was a long, boring month to me, LOL!  It's time for another Paper Players challenge, and Anne Marie has an awesome challenge for us...Heat Embossing!  Woohoo!  Who doesn't remember that first time they saw embossing powder magically melt into a fabulous shiny image?!  So cool!

This was a perfect challenge for me, as I had this large flower from Beautiful Day already heat-embossed in Gold embossing powder on Thick White cardstock, but decided against using it on my original project!  I paired it with some Golden Honey Specialty DSP and some Gold Foil for my card today:

I also embossed the Gold Foil with the speckle image from Gallery Grunge...(it looks a wee bit like an animal print to me, I am going to have to ink it up and experiment with it some more!!), and I also embossed the sentiment with from Honey Bee:

It's hard to see, but there is some gold thread behind the image and sentiment as well!  I mounted everything on a white card base and left the inside blank, ready for an occasion as I need it!  I also used the Freshly Made Sketches sketch, but I was going from memory, and I put the sentiment in the wrong spot!! Duh!

Anyway, I hope you'll get out your heat gun and your embossing powders and get to work for our Paper Players challenge this week!  Be sure to hop over to the Paper Players blog and see what the DT created...then share yours with us too!

Cassidy earned another belt this week!  (Sorry the pix aren't real clear)

Thanks for popping in!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Hostess Party Projects

I had my Hostess Appreciation party yesterday, and of course, I was so intent on socializing, feeding my friends and stamping, that I got NO pictures!  I am just so bad at that!  But I did photograph our projects!  I wanted to highlight some SAB things, so everyone got to make a Kerchief Card from the Paper Pumpkin-style kit:

And in December my friend Sally sent me this lovely Christmas card, with this cute little "corner tuck" feature, and I loved it so much, I wanted to make one of my own:

So we made a card using the gorgeous florals from Best Dressed; this one happens to be on a  Blackberry Bliss card base, but some of the girls also did a Pear Pizzaz one with a different floral:

I chose to put another diecut right on top of the triangle piece, stamped with a sentiment from Beautiful Day and embellished with a sequin:

We used a new set, So Sentimental, for the inside panel!  Everyone really like this style of fold!

Finally, we did a Valentine candy treat using the Printed Cello bags from the mini catalog and the Over the Moon set:

A heart was diecut from Rose Glimmer Paper and a little topper from Rococo Rose; the stamped panel was diecut with a die from Stitched So Sweetly, then colored with Blends.  To make the moon, they stamped the image on the back of a piece of Sparkle Glimmer paper, then hand-cut it out:

We also had cheeseburger soup, along with salad, snacks and desserts!  Delish!  Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy, Dana and Wayne enjoyed the 76ers game.....although Cass fell asleep before they even got there:

It's good to get a nap before a big game!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB71 Big Bold Flower

Happy Thursday, everyone!  Laurel has a pretty inspiration photo for us today at Inspired By; here's my take on it:

And here is her prompt...so pretty!

In hindsight, I wish I hadn't used a Basic Gray card base for my card...it makes the whole creation a bit dark, but it's already in the mail, so hopefully the recipient will enjoy it nonetheless!  I don't have many big flower images, the only one I could find was from Beautiful Day, so I stamped it in Stazon ink on thick white cardstock, added a wee bit of shading with Melon Mambo, and colored the leaves with Shaded Spruce, then cut it out:

I added some diecut florals from Beautiful Bouquets and the matching die, Bouquet Bunch, as well as some greenery from Botanical Tags, then liberally covered it with Wink of Stella!!  I had an extra diecut left, so I added it to my inside sentiment:

And the sketch I used is from Hand Stamped Sentiments:

Thanks for popping in today!  I hope you'll share your lovely floral creations with us at Inspired By this week!

15 minutes in the car, and she's plumb tuckered out!
