FMS268 and SUO164 Happy 60th Birthday

PCCCS170, JUGS319 and STB
Happy Tuesday, everyone! Taking a break from Christmas cards and squeezing in a couple of challenges today with a birthday card! Seize the Birthday is an “anything goes” challenge, Paper Craft Crew Challenge has this sketch:
and the trend week at Just Us Girls is watercoloring:
So here we go:
I dampened a piece of watercolor paper and lightly dabbled on some Lost Lagoon ink. I pulled some papers from the Pretty Petals stack for my banners, then stamped the feathers from Cheer All Year for the focal point.
A Paper Pumpkin birthday sentiment stamped in Basic Black was bold enough to work against the watercolored background. I also added a few sequins from my stash, added some black glimmer paper elements, and speckled some color on with a wet paintbrush. My sentiment inside is from Cottage Greetings and I stamped another feather as well:
It’s off to the mailbox this card goes! Thanks for visiting today!
Cassidy went to her friend Gabby’s birthday party on the weekend. Gabby is all about glam and glitz….Cassidy? Well, she apparently hasn’t given up Halloween yet, LOL!
Enjoy your day!

SIP19 Boo Box
Happy Friday, peeps! I have another little Halloween project for you today; it’s really quite easy and fun to do. This was the “bonus” project for my Halloween Treat stamp camp, and they all enjoyed it! It’s also perfect for Sandy’s Tic Tac Toe challenge at Stamp, Ink Paper:
I believe I got seven out of the nine, not too bad! I took a Tiny Treat Box and covered the sides and top with some Happy Haunting DSP. I stamped my kitty and pumpkin in Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black, then did some fussy cutting and adhered them together and put them on the front. This is one of my favorite vintage Halloween stamps; I am pretty sure it came from 100 Proof Press:
On the top of the box, I added a black glimmer paper “boo” from Boo to You framelits along with some black and orange sequins:
And the surprise is this little bat that pops up out of the box when you open it! It’s the bat from Cheer All Year, mounted on a thin strip of window sheet. His wings are curled inward, and the window sheet strip is mounted to the center bottom with a glue dot:
After you put your candy inside, tuck the bat down on top of the candy, as shown; the wings need to be curled enough to fit inside (a bone folder works well, as one of my customers told me!!!), then just fold the lid down and it’s ready for trick-or-treat night! I did trim the side flaps of the lid, but that was just my choice….you don’t have to do it!
I also stamped the sentiment from Cheer All Year on the inside lid as shown. These little 2” boxes are so much fun to make, I hope you’ll try one too!
We taught Cassidy how to play Sorry!, since I was a wee bit tired of Candyland! She did really well….and Grampy lost!
Enjoy your day!

TSOT235, CYCI85 and KJ240
Hey peeps! Another post for today; I rarely post twice in one day but somehow I missed this awesome color combo from Can You Case It, and it’s almost up:
So I am squeaking this one in by a hair!!!
I am also using the sketch from Try Stampin’ on Tuesday:
as well as the Kraft Journal’s Autumn Challenge 240. I chose the colors of Soft Sky, So Saffron, Tip Top Taupe and Chocolate Chip. I used Hardwood, Kinda Eclectic and Lovely as a Tree for my background stamping, and the new Cheer All Year for the sentiment and feather. I cut the feather in half and placed it behind the sentiment to make it look a bit longer, then added a little linen thread to add some interest! Thanks for visiting!
Today was a bit cooler than the past few days, thanks to our rain yesterday, but that meant a jacket and boots for a little jaunt this morning!
Enjoy the weekend!

FMS203
Happy Thursday, peeps! It’s finally supposed to rain and cool things off today…I can’t wait! This heat is wearing on me! I channeled my inner Jen Mitchell and made a little Halloween card to take my mind off it:
I need more Halloween stamps like I need a hole in the head, but I just couldn’t resist the Cheer All Year set with its assortment of fall and winter images! Who could be afraid of a polka-dotted bat? Especially one with black rhinestone eyes?
I used the splotches from Gorgeous Grunge in Smoky Slate, Pumpkin Pie, Cameo Coral and Elegant Eggplant along with the sentiment from Cheer All Year in our new black ink:
I used the new Curvy Corner Trio punch for the lower right corner….isn’t it cool? And my sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches:
And the inside, along with a sentiment from Howl-o-ween Treat:
Thanks for visiting today!
Playing with “kinetic” sand (this stuff is so weird!):
It’s a cake for Grampy!

TSOT233
Happy Tuesday, peeps! And happy September, although Mother Nature still thinks it’s the middle of July! It’s HOT HOT HOT here in SE PA! It’s time for another Try Stampin’ On Tuesday challenge! This is our sketch for this week:
and the additional challenge is to make a shaker card! Oh dear…I love shaker cards, but they don’t love me! But I persevered, using a couple of new sets from the holiday mini, to make a simple Halloween one:
I used the new Happy Haunting DSP with a Basic Black card base; I stamped the owl from Howl-o-ween Treat on a circle of Very Vanilla, then added a window sheet and a frame of Tangelo Twist. My sentiment is from the coordinating Boo to You framelit dies, using the new black glimmer paper….the scraps were perfect to cut out some little stars as well, also in the die set! I used some black, silver and orange sequins from my stash:
And for the inside, I mixed some sentiments and images from the same set as well as Cheer All Year:
I hope you’ll play along! You can share your project at our blog or at the TSOT Facebook page as well!
Dana, John & I weathered the first day of kindergarten…well, that consisted of us getting Cassidy on the bus…..without too many tears or a breakdown!
She was a little trooper! Enjoy your day!

Hello, everyone! I am back from vacation…a perfect beach week, very relaxing! Here’s a view of the Lewes, Delaware, beach on a quiet Tuesday morning:
Nothing better than a deserted beach! So now I am trying to get back into the stamping groove…I have lots of goodies to play with but I am struggling with getting all my thoughts and ideas together! I went to the Match the Sketch challenge for my sketch, turning it on its side:
I love the new Woodland Textured embossing folder..here I used it on an Old Olive card base, adding three feathers from the Cheer All Year set in Tip Top Taupe, Early Espresso and Soft Suede. I also stamped a sentiment from the same set and added a touch of Tangelo Twist for a little brightness!
And for ease, I simply glue-dotted on my little baker’s twine knots…no tying!
Today is the first day of school….I’ll have pictures tomorrow. Meanwhile, here is a little montage of Cassidy and her friend Dominic, whose mom is a friend of my daughter’s:
There is always lots of action and excitement when these two are together! And in true Cassidy fashion, if something doesn’t work right, she is right at the ready to get it fixed!!! However, I think there’s something wrong with this picture!
Enjoy your day!
