From the Heart

DSCF7835

Made this card for a couple challenges:

  • Makeesha’s Inkspiration Color Challenge #24, to use Sage Shadow, Basic Gray, Apricot Appeal and White
  • Sharon’s No Time To Stamp Sketch Challenge #139:

I just love these colors together; I am going to be sad to see Sage Shadow and Apricot Appeal go away :(.  But for now, I get to use them!  I chose to use the new Watercolor Trio for my card:

Pretty self-explanatory….the DP is from a retired hostess pack; I did some embossing on the Basic Gray panel, some stamping in Craft White on the Sage Shadow, and the flower and butterfly have some DD glitter on them!  This will be for a friend who recently had some surgery; I hope she likes it!  Thanks for visiting today---enjoy your Saturday!

  • Stamps:  Watercolor Trio
  • Paper:  Sage Shadow, WW, Apricot Appeal, Basic Gray, Hostess Prints Pack (ret)
  • Ink:  Basic Gray, Craft White
  • Acc:  Nesties, Taffeta Ribbon, Silver Hodgepodge Hardward, DD Glitter, CB EF; Apricot Appeal, Sage Shadow and Going Gray Markers

Shadowbox Challenge

DSCF7430-1

Well, on Sundays I usually post a Christmas card, but I recently found a Crafty Secrets group over at Papercraft Planet; I don’t visit PCP very often, but I was fortunate enough this time to score a 3D Shadowbox Frame to use for their current challenge!  The deadline for this is tomorrow, so I am making a Christmas decoration today instead of a card on Sunday!   It was very easy to put together and I had SO MUCH FUN using some vintage images from the Graphics Fairy and some diecut images from K&Co’s Brenda Walton line:

The color red is always a challenge for me to photograph, so I apologize for the discrepancies in the pictures!  Not much stamping…just a bit on the center panel; I added some DP and sponged the edges and added a little ribbon. There is also chipboard on this card, so it qualifies for Sharon Johnson’s No Time To Stamp challenge as well!   This is supposed to fold together into a triptych-type card, but my chipboard embellishments extended over the edges, so it will just have to be a little decoration for my home, come the holidays!  Thanks for visiting today!

Wanna Party?

DSCF4930

Hey everybody! Today is Sharon's Stamp Simply's 100th challenge! Woohoo! To celebrate, we're making birthday stuff--cards, gifts, you name it! And there are presents, and blog candy, and all kinds of fun things on lots of blogs! I have chosen to make a glittery, clean & simple-style card that is quick and easy to do! It's a fun technique many of you have probably tried before, but it's always fun to have a refresher:

Cameras and glitter just don't seem to get along---the colors of Martha Stewart glitter I used were Kunzite, Garnet and Carnelian....just pretend you can see all the pretty glitteriness here! And they really match my ink much better than represented here! LOL!

To get this glittering effect, punch out some stars, then the circles around them. Put some wide, clear packing tape on the back of each opening and liberally sprinkle on some glitter! That's it! I know that SU has a Sticky Paper (of course, I don't have any!) and there are other products out there that would be easier, but I used what I had! The sentiment is from PTI's Star Prints, stamped in Pixie Pink/Melon Mambo; the little star has also been colored with a Gelly Roll pen. The big ribbon (gasp!) is from my stash...I would have liked to have had a better edge cut on it....but it just wouldn't behave!

So be sure you check out all the other designers that Sharon has today---they've been busily creating and gathering blog candy goodies, so grab a tall iced tea and check them out! Have a great weekend!
