CPS164 & SCH10

DSCF0632

Squeaking in another card today—unusual for me!  If you’re looking for the Paper Players challenge, you can click here!

This is for the Card Patterns Sketch 164 and the Sugar Creek Hollow challenge 10, which is to use black and white:

DSCF0633

The challenge allowed you to use one color on your image, but I wanted to challenge myself to only use black and white.  I just snagged this digital image of a child blowing on a dandelion puff, and it reminded me of a recent episode of Cassidy trying to eat one!  It was perfect for the challenge.  I used some digi gingham paper, lace, ribbon, an old button and a PTI sentiment on a little tag; I also added a little sparkle to the dandelion which you might be able to see here:

DSCF0635

And here’s the sketch, too:

I have to admit, even though there is no “color”, I love how this turned out!  Have a blessed day!

CPS154

Hey everyone, it's almost the WEEKEND!  Woohoo!  I received my Simply Scored diagonal  plate yesterday and wanted to make a quick sample to show my club girls tonight.  The CardPatterns sketch 154 was perfect for the little scored piece I made!  Here's the sketch:

and here's my card:

Here's a closer view of the diagonal scoring; I hope you can see it:

It's fairly easy to use and will be great for making custom envelopes, if you're into that sort of coordinating thing!  I loved stamping all the little flowers from Fresh Vintage in the little boxes; I used Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade and Baja Breeze ink on this card to match the Everyday Enchantment SAB designer paper.  I ruffled a little bit of Baja Breeze seam binding ribbon and added a flower and matching brad.  Sweet!

I saw on someone's blog how they put their kid's lunch in the little compartments of a muffin tin, and the kids loved it!  I thought it was a great idea and I had a silicone tin I wasn't using, so I tried it on Cassidy.  She was quite upset at first because she wanted to dump it all out:

But then she warmed up to the idea and she liked it!

Thanks for visiting today!

CCMC169 & CPS134

DSCF8499-1

Happy Friday, peeps!  It finally looks like it may actually be fall here in SE PA….I felt like I was visiting my sister in SC the last two weeks…humid & damp!  Anyhoo, I saw this lovely color combo while blurfing at 3 am over at Create with Connie & Mary (sinus headache) and couldn’t wait to use it for a masculine get-well card I needed!  Here’s the combo:

CCMC169

Cool, huh?   Well, in my bleary-eyed state, I was pretty sure that center image was Crumb Cake, so that’s what I used on my card---oops!  I hope Connie & Mary don’t totally disqualify me!  I used sketch 134 from Card Patterns, too:

Card Patterns Sketch 134

and here’s my creation:

DSCF8499

Not much stamping, just a lot of embossing and texturing!  I used the Backgrounds #1 Texture Plate for the base; Perfect Polka Dots and Square Lattice for the circles, and my new Simply Scored for the panel.  Here’s a closer view of that:

DSCF8502

I scored it at 1/8” intervals.  The Simply Scored really makes quick work of it!

Wee Details:

  • Stamps:  Always in my Thoughts (ret)
  • Paper:  Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Basic Black
  • Ink:  Stazon
  • Acc:  Simply Scored, Small Oval & 1” Circle Punches, Background 1 Textures Plate, Perfect Polka Dots & Square Lattice Embossing Folders, Pinked Hearts Border Punch, Narrow Black Grosgrain Ribbon, 1/16” Hole Punch, Linen Thread, Dimensionals

And just so you don’t think that us demonstrators are the only ones who get excited when a SU box arrives:

CPS133 & JB39

DSCF8286

Just a quick post today—I am not getting much stamping time in these days!  I had this cute Penny Black snowman colored and sitting on my desk all lonely, and when I saw the Jingle Belles challenge today—Suzy Snowflake—I thought this would be perfect.  Now, he’s not Suzy, but he does have snowflakes and he’s made of snow…well, you get the picture!  Here we go:

DSCF8284

I also used the Card Patterns sketch 133, turning it on its side to fit my image:

Card Patterns Sketch133

Image was stamped in Stazon ink and colored with SU markers…..papers are all Basic Grey!  TFL!

We have had gray, dreary, humid weather here lately but that has not stopped Cassidy from having some outside fun:

And just so you know, we have a HUGE yard in which to play….but I turned my back for a couple of seconds, and into the puddle she went.  Once she was there, I figured I might as well just let her play in it!  Have a wonderful Friday!!!

Card Patterns 113

DSCF6011

Just a quick post today, lots to do!  Took the Card Patterns sketch 113:

CP sketch113

to make a birthday card for a special friend:

DSCF6010

I already had the Blushing Bride Patterns DP on my desk, so I went with another vintage theme, pulling out Vintage Vogue and the hostess set Just Because for my images.  I never use Basic Gray, but I thought it would be a pretty complement for the Blush.

DSCF6011-1

I used a doily for my scallop and some wide satin ribbon and an Antique Brad to corral it.  Hope she likes it!  Thanks for visiting today!

(Just in case you think she smiles all the time!)

  • Stamps:  Vintage Vogue
  • Paper:  WW, Basic Gray, Blushing Bride, Blushing Bride Patterns DP
  • Ink:  Pink Pirouette, Basic Gray

Card Patterns #112

Happy Friday!  We own a cat and yet I owned no cat stamps!  So when I saw this SU Touch of Kindness set, with this sweet little cat, I knew it was another reason to get it!  I love that it has some cute little sentiments, too!  I just wish my Pumpkin had a “smile” on her face like this!

DSCF4040

I used the sketch from Card Patterns:

CPsketch112

CPS107 Seeds of Kindness

DSCF0174

You might say that I am addicted to these digital images from Arielle; it’s just that it is so easy to print out a whole sheet and then color them up!  I don’t have many Copics in the purple family, so I added some blues to make this little pansy card:

DSCF0171

It uses the Card Pattern Sketch107:

Card Patterns Sketch107

Edited to add:  this also qualifies for the color challenge at the Play Date Cafe:

PDCC74

I also stamped some polka dots on the outer panel by masking the center design.  Can you see them here?:

DSCF0171

I can almost believe that spring will arrive by looking at this card….today’s weather is not very springy, that’s for sure!  Hope your day is super!

  • Stamps:  Polka Dot Basics, PTI; Digital, Wax Fruit Company
  • Paper:  WW, Almost Amethyst, Crumb Cake, Basic Black, MTME digital stripe
  • Ink:  Craft White
  • Acc:  Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Copics, Seam Binding, Crocheted Flower, Embroidery Floss, Dimensionals

(You notice all the toys around, and she plays with the box and plastic lids!!!)

PPA84 & CPS106

DSCF0029

Just a quick little spring anniversary card today using the theme from Pals Paper Arts, which was to create something for spring or Easter; and the sketch from Card Patterns:

CPS106

I had to flip the diagonal portion of the sketch because I cut my DP the wrong way to have it work as shown in the sketch!!! Oh well! Here we go:

DSCF0027

Image was stamped on Shimmery White with Stazon and watercolored; it’s a real basic card, basically!!!! I believe this is the first time I’ve inked up this image from A Flower for All Seasons! I hope this brings some springtime into your day! Edited to add: this also qualifies for the Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Spring has Sprung challenge too!

  • Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes, A Flower for All Seasons
  • Paper: WW, Cert Celery, Early Espresso, Baja Breeze, Regal Rose, Patterns & Nursery Suite DP
  • Ink: Stazon, Misc reinkers
