IC179 Golden Greenery for Fall

Happy Thursday, peeps! I really like the sketch from Inspire.Create this week, and I had the idea to use the Golden Greenery stamp set in fall colors!  Here's the sketch:

I stamped and diecut several pieces from the bundle and arranged them like so:

The plaid strip is from some retired DSP, and the grosgrain is retired also.  I tucked in a few little stamped and punched leaves from the retired Beautiful Autumn, and the sentiment is from the same set.  A few gold embellishments gave it a little pizzazz:

Finally, a birthday sentiment from Simply Said combined with another sentiment from Beautiful Autumn went on the inside:

I struggled a bit with this set when I first received it, but I can see the versatility of it now!  I am also going to add this to the Krafty Chicks challenge of All Occasions this week!  Thanks for popping in today!

Yesterday I showed a picture of Maven; today, Sawyer gets top billing:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

With all my heart I call to you; answer me, Lord and I will obey your commands!  Psalm 119:145

PP708 Gingham Fall Sketch from Joanne

Happy Sunday, peeps! Joanne is our Paper Players hostess this week and she has a very interesting sketch for us! I really had fun playing with it too!  Check it out:

When we were at Cape May, I saw a cute little wooden pumpkin in a gift shop and it was decorated in orange buffalo check:

I thought it would be fun to try to recreate it, although SU's retired Buffalo Check would have been a bit too large for this card, so I searched the internet and found some orange gingham and went to work:

My pumpkin is a diecut from Papertrey; I cut out all the panels and sponged the edges with some Peach Pie ink to give them a bit of contrast and cut the leaf and tendrils from Old Olive. I continued the plaid theme with my vertical panel and chose the unusual color of Pool Party for my base, which I embossed with a Darice embossing folder.

I used a CTMH sentiment and I stamped and punched some leaves from the retired Beautiful Autumn bundle:

I stamped a sentiment from Beautiful Autumn on the inside as well!

I love the bright cheerful look of this card, and it was a lot of fun to figure out Joanne's sketch!  I hope you'll play along with us this week too!  Check out what the DT created with this fun sketch at the Paper Players to get some inspiration!

Friday night we went to the Solanco (Southern Lancaster County) Fair....it was the most crowded I have ever seen it! The weather was mild and the people were MANY!  I took a video of one of the events---I am not even sure exactly what they call it, but you'll see in the video:

So much fun to watch!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

Celebrate The Season

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I've been missing my stamp room today...it took me two days to get this card done, LOL!  But between laundry, picking stuff from the garden and work, I finally finished it!  So here we go:

This is for a couple of challenges; the Inspire.Create sketch, and the Retro Rubber Fall Scenes challenge:

I used several older stamp sets for this card....I had to do a lot of searching to find the ages of them, LOL!  (I'll list the ages below in my "recipe"!)  I used some papers from Honey Bee Stamps for the background, placing them on a panel embossed with the Leaf Fall embossing folder.  I accented my little punkin with some Wild Wheat twine and they're hard to see, but there are silver sequins on the panel as well!

The sentiment and leaves from Beautiful Autumn (2020) was stamped on the inside:

I really enjoyed pulling out these older stamps and playing with them once again!  Thanks for visiting today!

So I just want to thank everyone who reached out to make sure I was okay during the last two weeks...my little community in Chester County was very close to where the escaped prisoner was hiding, although we were never in danger as he was never that close to us.  He was close to Longwood, where my brother works, and the area where he was captured was relatively close to John's sister's home, but thankfully it is all over now.  The Avondale State Police barracks to where he was transported was the nearest to us but he was in good hands there!  So happy that K9 did his job perfectly, and we are grateful to the countless police officers as well. It was brutally hot last week and the area in which the escapee was hiding was thick and dense. It's easy to be an armchair critic when we're sitting in our nice cool homes and they are out in the thick of it.  I am just glad it's over!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC494 Basket of Wishes

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  The Atlantic Hearts Sketch is a fun one this week!  Check it out:

I needed a special birthday card but I felt like pulling out some retired fall goodies...I have so many fall sets, I just can't part with them!  So here we go:

The retired set Basket of Wishes has a wonderful array of fall images in the line-drawing style that I love to watercolor!  I stamped them in Versafine ink on watercolor paper and colored them with inks and an aquapainter:

I added a few leaves from the retired Beautiful Autumn set and punched them out with the matching punches.  I placed one on top of the banners that were cut from retired DSP.  The background DSP is also retired.....some of it is really old, LOL!

I added a sentiment banner as well as a sentiment on the inside, all from the same set, stamped in Cajun Craze!

I am also going to enter this with my friends at Retro Rubber, since their challenge this week is "Anything Goes", and my stamps are at least two or three years old!

Thanks for popping in today!

I didn't get any pictures of Cassidy decorating her pumpkin at the Harvest Party, but my minister's wife snagged this one of her youngest:

She's quite an accomplished photographer, but it doesn't hurt that her son is so stinkin' cute!  As is his pumpkin!!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS463 Thank You

Happy Day-after-Thanksgiving Day!  I am beat, but we had a lovely dinner!  I have a very simple but pretty thank you card to send to my customers and I used the FMS sketch for them:

In the hustle and bustle of creating holiday cards, we sometimes forget the other pretty papers that we own!  I pulled out some cheerful prints from Flowers for Every Season, and made use of some scraps:

This first one uses the sentiment from Beautiful Autumn, stamped in Poppy Parade, and a little Just Jade leaf diecut from the Christmas Cardinals dies for an accent:

This next one is a little stepped up....I wanted a narrower sentiment so as not to cover up that beautiful floral image on the DSP, so I stamped a sentiment from Ornate Thanks, punched the edges with the Banner Pick-a-Punch, and for added interest, embossed the card front with the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder:

and since I had already stamped and diecut the larger thank you, I adhered that to the inside of this card, along with the little leaf:

Thanks for popping by today!

The "kiddie" table from yesterday....this table was in my grandmother's house and I imagine that many of my cousin's fannies sat on these chairs!!  Cassidy was a wee bit too big for a chair, so John put a cushion from one of our patio chairs on to a plastic milk crate and it worked like a charm:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB148 Count Your Blessings

Howdy, peeps!  Hope your week is going by nicely!  It's time for a lovely new Inspired By challenge!  I am constantly amazed at how Laurel and Danni keep coming up with these fabulous inspirations for us!  Check out this week's:

And here's the optional sketch...you can use one or the other, or combine them!

I sort of did use the sketch this week:

I really had a good time putting this card together!  So many fun elements, and I had a chance to pull out some old goodies as well as current!  I used some woodgrain paper to diecut a window and backed it with some retired printed vellum:

Then I stamped some pumpkins from my favorite Pick a Pumpkin set, and gave them a little garland of leaves from Beautiful Autumn upon which to rest:

And I finally used the Mug Mat die from the Greetery (that I just had to have) and a pretty little sentiment from an old My Creative Time set:

I think this is one of my favorite cards this season!  Be sure to stop by the IB blog to see the fabulous creations the rest of the DT made....and be sure to share yours with us too!

Time to make the jack-o-lanterns...you'll have to come back to see the final results!

Yep, those seeds feel yucky!  LOL!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Fall Foliage

Hi peeps!  I have a clean-and-simple card today, and it fulfills four challenges!  First, let's look at the card:

I used just the sketch from the Fusion Card Challenge, and the theme at Less Is More is to use more than one foliage:

I started out with a Very Vanilla card base,  some Bronze Brushed Metallic cardstock as well as some Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze to create the elements of the sketch.  The metallic was embossed with the Quilt Top (ret) embossing folder, and the colors were embossed with the Subtle embossing folder.  I stamped and diecut (or fussy-cut) foliage from Beautiful Autumn, Poinsettia Petals and Forever Fern. I did add a little extra coloring to the Crumb Cake petals with some Blends to give them a little more depth:

I fussy-cut the "smile" from Lovely You and mounted it on a piece of Cajun Craze diecut with a stitched banner from Tasteful Labels; the final touch was some sequins from my stash!  I used the colors from Color Throwdown, and the embossing fulfills the new Let's Squash It challenge!

The harvest party at church was a hit....it felt almost like "normal"!!!  The weather was gray and windy but it didn't rain!  Wayne and Josh manned the apple press to make fresh cider (which is delicious!):

Hot dogs and s'mores roasted over the fire was the menu:

Then a hay ride with a tractor breakdown (uh-oh!):

And everyone was having so much fun, they forgot to decorate their pumpkins!  Cellphone flashlights to the rescue:

Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

CAS Leafy Hello

Happy Friday, peeps!  Do you have something fun planned for the weekend?  Hope so!  I'll be seeing some stamping friends tomorrow and I am looking forward to that!  Today I have a really simple card using some "fall" products!  Here we go:

I love that the Stitched Leaves dies leave stitching around the outside diecut but I don't usually get to use that part of my cardstock, so I wanted to highlight that on my card today.  I backed it with some Plaid Tidings DSP, on which I embossed the inner leaf stitching part of the die as well.  To finish it off, I added some matching leaves (never have seen a blue leaf, but I'll say it's artistic license!)

The leaves are from the Beautiful Autumn bundle, stamped in Misty Midnight, Poppy Parade and Cinnamon Cider, and punched out with the matching punch.  The sentiment is from Life is Beautiful!  And since it's clean and simple, I am entering it at the Krafty Chicks and The Spot challenges:

And it also fits the Festive Friday challenge of plaid, ribbon and diecuts:

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.  Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." Galatians 6:9-10
