Wacky Little Owl

Happy Monday, peeps! I have two cards today using the same sketch, the same cute little wacky owl, and two different themes!  I used the Sunday Stamps sketch:

and the feathers challenge at FarmQuest!  So let me give you the spooky version first:

Little owl is stamped in Versafine Black on Sahara Sand, then I added some smudges from Label Me Bold to give a spooky effect.  An old sentiment from Rubbernecker was stamped in Blackberry Bliss.

I added a glittery star:

And the papers are from Echo Park's Spooky line!  And here's the inside:

Here's the second one, a little more light-hearted!  Mr Owl is stamped in Mello Moss; sentiment is from Poppy Stamps' Whittle Sayings and the papers are from Unity:

Isn't he the cutest?!

Thanks so much for popping in today!

We had our Harvest Party on Saturday...aside from the wind and a few clouds, it was a great event! We have such a great location!

Wayne and our friend Josh were kings of the apple cider press (a video to come)!  Josh is holding all the apple leftovers...people feed them to their chickens or pigs!  And Wayne rewarded himself with a s'more!

The hayride is always a hit; this year Wayne's brother's family went along for the ride; his nephew is sitting next to Cassidy, although all you can see is her hair!

Nothing like a big farm tractor!! Our cousin William is a great driver!

And it was so popular, they had a nighttime ride too!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI260 Boo To You!

Hey peeps!  Time for another As You See It...as we turn the page to October, we've got a sketch for you:

Of course, my mind went to Halloween!  I just got some new papers from CTMH and I paired them with a really old Halloween stamp that I don't think I've ever even inked up:

I diecut the plaid piece with a Stitched Rectangle die, then cut another one and stamped my black cat on top and fussy-cut it out, popping it up and matching it with the plaid beneath it:

The sentiment strip and starry strip are both from the paper pack, and I added some faux stitching and two black glimmer stars for fun!

I inked up a couple more of my Halloween stamp stash for the inside:

I am also adding this to the challenge at Just Add Ink: Just Choose Two---I've got silhouettes and stars!

I love stamping Halloween cards!  But what will you create with our sketch this week?  The possibilities are endless!  Come play along with us!  And thanks for visiting today!

IB114 Lots of Green

Hi peeps!  Time for another Inspired By challenge!  Check out this fun photo inspiration from Laurel:

All those coffee and tea pots reminded me of a stamp set I purchased from Rubbernecker several years ago, and used maybe once or twice...some of the images had never been trimmed, LOL!  I stamped each one in Granny Apple Green, using my Stamparatus, and started fussy cutting!  Here's my final product:

Each little image fit inside a circle diecut panel from Close to My Heart; I hand-drew the steam lines, and stamped "tea" and "coffee" in Garden Green as well:

I stamped a sentiment from Honey Be on the inside and added a last little cup of coffee:

I have to admit that I really enjoyed making this card, even though I fussy-cut all the little images and I only used green!  I just love how it turned out!  I hope you'll find some green inspiration from our photo and create something to share at the Inspired By blog!! See you there!

Flying By Halloween

Hi there everyone!  Can you handle one more Halloween card?  I am gradually giving a lot of my seasonal stamps some love and ink!  This little kitty is another of my favorites, he's so cute (or maybe it's a "she") on his little broom:

I love vintage Halloween images and this one fits the bill!  I stamped him in Memento ink on Very Vanilla cardstock, colored him with some Blends and die cut him:

I added a sentiment from a retired Rubbernecker Halloween set, and embellished it with some black and orange papers, stamped stitching and some black Glimmer paper banners and frames:

I even remembered to decorate the inside with a little leftover scrap:

I used the Just Add Ink sketch and the themes from Festive Friday:

#festivefridaychallenge, #FF0019, Stampin Up, Halloween, Black

I guess I'd better think about mailing some of these out....Halloween is coming up soon!

This photo might be more appropriate for Valentine's Day!!  Wayne is in Florida at a produce  grower's convention and came upon this HUGE display of roses....can you believe the size of this thing?  He told Dana he was going to bring it home for her, LOL!  What a guy!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP366 CAS Scary Halloween

Happy Sunday, everyone!  I trust you're having a good weekend so far!  Laurie is our hostess this week at the Paper Players and she has a spooky theme for us...but it IS clean and simple:

Since I was on a roll with my vintage Halloween images, I decided to pull out this fierce-looking cat riding a witch's broomstick for my CAS card this week:

I didn't go the traditional black and orange route, but chose Night of Navy for my background, on which I stamped some spooky trees and bats using an old, old jumbo wheel that I took off the plastic and adhered a foam backing to it so I can use it like a regular stamp.  I also filled in the rest of the sky with the "stars" from Christmas Pines!  My moon was a big Crushed Curry circle, sponged with Crushed Curry and Peekaboo Peach, then stamped with Gorgeous Grunge and of course, my wee little witchy cat:

The bats and sentiments are from a retired Rubbernecker set, and I just love this little rhyme:

We hope this challenge prompts you to create a clean-and-simple spooky Halloween card!  Be sure to check out what the design team created at the Paper Players blog!

Cassidy looks like a spooky creature; or maybe it's just a little girl with raspberries on her fingers!  Silly!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SIP119 Cardmaker's Choice

Hi peeps!  Hope you're doing well today---it has been a beautiful October so far!  Justin has a fun , easy challenge for us at Stamp Ink Paper this week:

Image may contain: text

Well, maybe it's a little tougher than I thought!  There is NO WAY I could pick out a favorite stamp set, color OR paper!  I just have way too many favorites!  But I did remember a cute little stamp set that I hadn't gotten inky in a long, long time that I thought would be a good one to pull out...it is one of my many, many favorites, it's called Greeting Card Kids:

And I was able to incorporate a few more challenges with this one, too!  In(k)spire Me has a sketch; House of Cards wants CAS Halloween; and Less Is More wants watercoloring!

I stamped my cute little witch with Stazon ink on SU's watercolor paper and colored her in with an aquapainter and reinkers:

I cut the circle out with a Stitched Shape die and added a little circular element from another Halloween set, then added some spooky bats on the Crumb Cake background!  And here's the inside:

Lots of favorites...alll my Halloween sets are right up at the top of that list!  I hope you'll share your favorite stamp, ink and paper with us this week...if you can decide which to choose!  Check out the other designers' creations as well...they have some beauties!

And speaking of little beauties, here is Cassidy's school picture for second grade:

We were happy with it!  And we're happy you popped it today---be blessed!

TSOT286 Boo!

Hi everyone!  Tuesday means it's time for a Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch!  Here we go:

The option for this week is Holiday Blessings, but I went in a different direction:  Halloween!

I began with some My Mind's Eye Happy Haunting papers, rounding the edges of my main panel, and stamping my "boo" in Memento Black, and some bats and stars with Smoky Slate, using an older Rubbernecker Halloween set.  I also cut some scraps of the same papers into little banners, added some orange, black and silver sequins, and "hung" them on some retired SU thick baker's twine:

For the inside, I used an old, old favorite Crafty Secrets Halloween set to stamp my sentiment in Memento Black, bats in Smoky Slate and some stars in Cajun Craze:

I always love banners, they're so fun to create and a great way to use up little scraps, so I hope you'll play along with us!  You can submit your card on the TSOT blog, or why not try our Facebook page?

Yesterday, it was the first day of school, and Cassidy was up early and ready to meet her new teacher!

Seems like just yesterday I was pushing her around in a stroller!  Thanks for popping in today!
