Merry Monday 126
Happy Merry Monday, everyone! I trust you had a great weekend! It’s time to get inky again and make some Christmas cards! Karren is our wonderful hostess and she has a sentiment challenge for us this week:
Since I have been playing with the Seasonally Scattered set from the holiday mini, I thought it was perfect! I wanted to try a little different technique for me, and although I had to play with it a bit (and I don’t think the photo does it justice), I was happy with the effect in the end:
I began by heat embossing the sentiment on Soft Sky with white craft ink and white embossing powder; I then began to watercolor in and around the image with Soft Sky ink, then Lost Lagoon, and finally Island Indigo. I tried to give the letters an ombre look, but when I added a little Dazzling Diamonds glitter, it hid the effect a bit, but I think you can still see it. My “christmas” sentiment is from Endless Wishes, and I love how when I stamped it over the watercolored area, it muted it a bit….very pretty!
I stamped a few snowflakes from the Endless set as well, very subtly in Soft Sky and dazzled them up too! Since I wanted the sentiment to be the focus, I added two simple mats of Whisper White and Island Indigo before adhering it to my Lost Lagoon card base. Hope you like it! AND I hope you’ll play along too! Be sure to check out all the amazing samples at the Merry Monday blog too!
Cassidy received a very nice package in the mail at Grammy’s house last week:
You’ll have to stop back to see what she got!!! Have a blessed day!

TSSC331
Happy Wednesday, everyone! I received Seasonally Scattered at convention, and I had not shown it much love, so I thought I’d get it inky! I am using Mary Lou’s TechnoStamper Lunchtime Sketch Challenge for this week:
and here’s my card:
I flipped the sketch on its side to accommodate the image; it was stamped in Hello Honey, and then the outer portions were daubered with Tangerine Tango and Old Olive inks, a technique we learned at convention as well. I stamped my Old Olive panel with Chalk Lines, and although you can’t see it here, the Tangelo Twist panel is stamped with the Hardwood background stamp with Versamark ink, as I didn’t want it to be too distracting. A few sequins and a little ribbon banner finished it off:
Oh, and the DSP is Park Lane!
I’ll be seeing Cassidy for the first time today since she got her cast….can’t wait to see how she is making out! Here she is, a couple weeks ago, adding her own little touches to a pie we were making!
Thanks for visiting today!

Lots of Crumbs
I wanted to share a few projects I made or received at convention….and they all seemed to made from something Crumb Cake! It seemed to be the color of choice! There are a lot of photos, so let’s get started! Feel free to zip right through!
This was my gift from my roomie, Nance! Of course, it was filled with some goodies, but they’re long gone! I just love the gold embossing on the vellum window:
My upline, Pennie, gave me a little card and this cute notebook (I think that SU made that stamp “yippee skippee” just for her!!!!):
Another little journal, this was one of our make & take projects….I did this one at home, and it features Kinda Eclectic:
This is a take-out box from the Holiday mini, along with a tag made from a new set called Seasonally Scattered:
And a 4x4 gift box made with the new Gift Box Punch Board; I actually made this one while sitting in my hotel room, using a piece of 12x12 Under the Tree Specialty Paper; it is a little heavier than regular DP, which makes it perfect for making boxes!! And it’s got cute designs on both sides! I added the tag and decorations once I got home; they’re from the set Amazing Birthday!
Here are closeups of the decorations:
Finally, we made this little set of notecards and holder, created from a gift card holder:
Thanks for checking in today! And be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!
Cassidy helped me make spaghetti sauce and stuffed pepper casserole this week:
She uses a plastic lettuce knife to cut the peppers and tomatoes, and she’s pretty darn good at it! And she insisted on adding her own artwork to the top of the casserole before it went into the freezer!
I know it’s a person, but not sure what is in her hand, LOL!
