TTTC66 Vintage Sailing

Hey stampers!  It's time for another Tic Tac Toe challenge, it's Team X's turn, and I got to choose the elements for the board today!  Here's how it goes:

No photo description available.

I chose the bottom row across:  tan/cream, transportation (sort of), and brads, but the left diagonal line also worked:  vintage and circle!  So here we go; my card uses Come Sail Away DSP and the sailboat from Sailing Home:

I stamped images from the Sailing Home set and Gallery Grunge directly on to the DSP and did some sponging along the edges to give it a vintage look.  I also stamped along the outer edge of the Crumb Cake card base to give it some "texture".  The sailboat was stamped and diecut and mounted on a Very Vanilla circle; I used an image from Label Me Bold as "water"!!

The sentiment is from Free as a Bird, and I used a die from Smooth Sailing to cut it out, and since I used some gold-colored brads, I added a gold banner die under it, just to make it pop a little:

And on the inside, a Father's Day sentiment from A Wish For Everything and the lighthouse....so guess who this card will be for (wink wink)?

I hope you'll play along with my grid this week; it's always fun to see what combinations you crafty stampers come up with!  Share it over at the Tic Tac Toe blog so we all can see it!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP480 Sweet Friend

Hi peeps!  Happy Sunday, and happy March!  I am glad February is over....it was a long, boring month to me, LOL!  It's time for another Paper Players challenge, and Anne Marie has an awesome challenge for us...Heat Embossing!  Woohoo!  Who doesn't remember that first time they saw embossing powder magically melt into a fabulous shiny image?!  So cool!

This was a perfect challenge for me, as I had this large flower from Beautiful Day already heat-embossed in Gold embossing powder on Thick White cardstock, but decided against using it on my original project!  I paired it with some Golden Honey Specialty DSP and some Gold Foil for my card today:

I also embossed the Gold Foil with the speckle image from Gallery Grunge...(it looks a wee bit like an animal print to me, I am going to have to ink it up and experiment with it some more!!), and I also embossed the sentiment with from Honey Bee:

It's hard to see, but there is some gold thread behind the image and sentiment as well!  I mounted everything on a white card base and left the inside blank, ready for an occasion as I need it!  I also used the Freshly Made Sketches sketch, but I was going from memory, and I put the sentiment in the wrong spot!! Duh!

Anyway, I hope you'll get out your heat gun and your embossing powders and get to work for our Paper Players challenge this week!  Be sure to hop over to the Paper Players blog and see what the DT created...then share yours with us too!

Cassidy earned another belt this week!  (Sorry the pix aren't real clear)

Thanks for popping in!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #050

Hello, stampers!  A second post for me today.... I was recently asked by Felicita to be on the Tic Tac Toe Challenge team!  I said yes, and there are a lot of other familiar faces on the design team too!  I am happy to be designing with them!  Our first challenge of 2020 looks like this, with Shannon as our featured designer:

No photo description available.

I used the bottom row across:  punch, blue and twine!

I started with some Balmy Blue cardstock and my Timeless Label punch, punching out three labels, then stamping them with Versamark ink, using  the wooden image from Gallery Grunge.  I tried an old technique to add some light color; I used my Stampin' Pastels (anyone remember them???) and a cotton puff to dab on some color, just to make it stand out a bit!  I embossed a panel of Basic Black with the new Coastal Weave EF and layered the labels on top.

I stamped two of the birds from the May Paper Pumpkin kit and fussy-cut them out after giving them a wee bit of color with my Blends.  A sentiment from the same kit was stamped in Memento Black and diecut with a Stitched So Sweetly die and tucked under the black panel:

I finished it with some Soft Sky twine, then mounted it on a Smoky Slate mat, a white rectangle-stitched panel, and finally a Balmy Blue card base.  I stamped a sentiment from So Sentimental on the inside, along with some speckles and another couple of birds:

I can't wait to see what you create with this tic-tac-toe board!!  They're always fun, and they are a great way to get your creative juices flowing when you're stumped for ideas!  Stop over at the TTTC blog to see what the others have created and share yours too!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB54 Cozy Denim Birthday

Hello everyone!  I am so sorry to be so lax in my posting, but we are beginning to go through my dad's stuff....years and years and years of stuff!  I am sure some of you know what I'm experiencing!  Anyway, I did take out some time to play with Laurel's latest Inspired By challenge because I needed a masculine birthday card, and it was a good inspiration!  So here we go:

And here is the prompt:

I also used the FMS sketch for this week:

My recipient is kind of a no-frills guy, so I let the Authentique papers from the Original and Genuine collections do most of the work!  I cut out some pieces and adhered them on, and I did add some random grunge stamping with Smoky Slate and Night of Navy:

and I used the new Itty Bitty Birthdays with the new Rectangle Stitched dies:

And since it was late, I thought it would be fun to put this sentiment from the retired Birthday Wit set inside:

This nice cozy scene is sure to be a happy inspiration for you...can't wait to see what you create!  Be sure to share it over at the Inspired By blog!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI185 Eclectic Blues

Hi everyone!  Yay, it's Friday, and it looks like it will be a nice weekend ahead for us!  My dad had to be put in the hospital for a couple of days for his leg and hopefully he'll come home today...he is not a good patient, LOL!  Thankfully my sister has way more patience than I do since he is living with her!  Anyway, it's time for another As You See It challenge, and it's a beauty!  What do you think?

Image may contain: text

What a gorgeous color combo...bright and bold!  I used the Sketch Saturday sketch, squeaking it in under the wire:

And here we go:

My card base was embossed with the Tufted EF, and I used Gallery Grunge and Touches of Texture to create an eclectic panel in the three challenge colors.  I added a diecut mat in Dapper Denim and a little stitched banner for my sentiment, then finished it off with some baker's twine and sequins:

I like this sentiment!!  Good for lots of things!  Thanks for popping in, I sure hope that you will play along with our challenge and add some bright colors to your creation!!  See you in the gallery!

Since our neighbors allow us to swim in their pool all summer long, when I found a pool tube (on sale!) that looked like a doughnut, I thought it would be a fun way to thank them!  They can't use it until next year, but by the look on Jackie's face, she was pretty excited:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Two Rustic Birthdays

Happy Monday, everyone!  I've got a couple rustic-themed birthday cards for you today!  My birthday card stash is pretty slim, and these are actually going out in the mail today, so I need to get busy!  My first card uses the CAS Colours and Sketches sketch:

and it is for a horse-loving friend of mine!  The papers come from a line from Authentique called Frontier; I stamped a horse from PTI's On The Farm and embellished it with some punched stars:

I added some Candy Dot "brads":

I used the same paper as the stars for my sentiment, and die-cut it with a stitched tag from Pretty Pink Posh:

And on the inside, I stamped sentiments from Country Road, along with a border from the PTI set:

The next one uses the sketch from TGIF:

Same line of papers, but this time I used an image from SU's Countryside, stamped in Early Espresso  on Crumb Cake and colored with blends; I stamped the Crumb Cake card base with the woodgrain image from Gallery Grunge:

I just love that little bird!

The sentiment is from a past Paper Pumpkin kit:

And again, I stamped the inside with Country Road:

It was fun to stamp with warm country colors and images...I am getting itchy to stamp some pumpkins, so be on the watch for them!!

Speaking of itching, at church yesterday, Cassidy sat with our new preacher's family; they have a three-year-old little girl and Cassidy was just beside herself trying to be a babysitter to her:

Blessedly, the preacher's wife was very gracious and gently "helped" Cassidy be a little less motherly!  All was well!  Thanks for popping in today...enjoy it and be blessed!

PP410 Surfer Guy

Hi everyone!  Hope you're having a good weekend....finally have some sunshine but my heart is breaking for all of those affected by Hurricane Florence!  My sister, who lives on an island off Charleston, SC, is fine, blessedly!  Prayers going out to all!

Sweet Claire is our Paper Players hostess this week with a Clean and Simple challenge, thankfully, as it was a busy week for me and this fit my schedule perfectly!  So here we go:

So anyone who knows me fairly well knows I do NOT do sports...I do like to swim, but I don't like to get my hair wet....I played volley ball a long time ago with some friends but I wasn't very good....and forget about RUNNING for any sport!  I am more of a reading/crafty/homebody type, and I might watch a football game with John if I have my cross-stitch nearby!!  I know that Claire loves to play tennis, and I actually think this is a great challenge, because the only sports-type stamps I have are masculine and I ALWAYS need masculine cards!  So here's my take on her challenge, using an old and a new stamp, a few ink colors and one layer of cardstock:

I used Linda's Freshly Made Sketches sketch for my layout:

The three lines on the left side are from a new set called Gallery Grunge, and they were stamped in Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Cool Caribbean; I masked off part of the image to get the sizes I needed.  I stamped some speckles from Gorgeous Grunge in Cool Caribbean, then stamped my surfer  from Extreme Surfboard in Bermuda Bay.  I did add a few Clear Epoxy Drops from the Holiday Mini catalog to add some "splash"!!!

I think this is  a great image for a guy's birthday card!  Be sure to check out what the Paper Players DT did with this challenge at the PP blog, then make sure to post your clean-and-simple creation there too! Can't wait to see what you make!

And here are a few more pix from around the yard a couple of weeks ago, since it's been raining so much, Cassidy and I haven't been outside for over a week!

A little frog hiding in our creek:

A pretty little flower; it's just a weed, but still pretty:

And in the brutal world of nature, it's spider eat grasshopper...or maybe it's a cicada, I can't tell:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
