March Club Projects

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  I am really draggin' today...of course, the gray skies and snow flurries I see out my window might have something to do with that...and the prediction of another nor'easter on its way tomorrow.  That will be #4 for March 2018!!!  And it's the first day of spring!  Anyway, I wanted to share the projects my club participants did this month; I really enjoyed designing them and my stampers seemed to love them too!

Since once of the SAB promotion items is this lovely Springtime Foil DSP, I thought doing an ombre effect with SU's brayers would be fun:

We brayered layers of Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo and Calypso Coral on a pane, then added a flower from Flower Shop and punched out with the Pansy Punch, colored with a SU Blend.  The sentiment is from Basket of Wishes, punched with the Tailored Tag punch, and finally, we added a border diecut with the Flourish Thinlet; to make it easier to adhere, it was backed with some Adhesive Sheet, so all we had to do was peel and stick!  And here are a couple of other samples I showed them using the same technique:

For the second set of projects, I went "old school", using the One-Sheet Wonder technique that I learned a long time ago when I first became a demonstrator!  Basically, you stamp a whole sheet of cardstock (in our case, just a half-sheet) randomly to create your own designer paper.  Then we cut it into smaller pieces and made two full-size cards and one note card with our stamped panel:

The set Blooms and Wishes is perfect for this type of project; we used Pool Party, Sweet Sugarplum, So Saffron, Peekaboo Peach, Wisteria Wonder and Soft Sky for a springy palette; the sentiments from the same set (and an additional one from Beautiful Bouquet) were stamped in Basic Gray and all diecut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits:

You can't see it here, but some of the flowers were embellished with a Wink of Stella pen too!  Finally, they learned how to tie a "One-Hole Bow", which is great for keeping your ribbon from slipping off your card.  I did a tutorial for it and you can see it HERE!  And since there is no DSP on these cards, I am entering these in the No Patterned Paper challenge from Cards in Envy!

Ialso made a little gift for my hostess using the Wood Crate Box and the Seasonal Layers Thinlets; my friend Wendy made some really cute Easter-themed ones (you can see them here), but I didn't have any bunnies or chicks or eggs that were current, so I made a spring one with cherry blossoms and a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes:

Phew, are you tired of all the photos?!  Thanks for hanging in there with me!

About fifty family members and friends from church went bowling on Saturday; it's really tough for wee ones to get that ball down the lane without going in the gutter (I struggle with it too!):

Mommy helped with the ball guide, and a few times we put up the bumpers too:

But that scoring is really the hard part...checking out to see how she did:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Birthday Card in a Box

I attempted my first "card in a box"....something I've wanted to do for a long time, but never did!!  So when I saw this post, I decided to give it a whirl....got a wee bit carried away, but it was fun!  So here we go:

My box was constructed with Flirty Flamingo cardstock and Affectionately Yours Specialty DSP along with Flower Shop stamps and punch, and Flourish Thinlets.  I used the birthday sentiment from Designer Tee for the sentiment tag and a sentiment from Cottage Greetings for the flap!

Of course, with all the flourishes, I had to find a really big envelope to fit it, but I had one in my stash!  I can't wait to make another one!  And I did some fiddling with the stitched shape framelits to create rectangles!  Hopefully I can show you how to do that soon!

Cassidy went ice skating for the first time yesterday and she did really well!  Although when she came home, she did tell me she was sore all over...she did fall a couple of times!

Mommy and Wayne helped out!

Thanks for visiting today!

PPA292 Thanks

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a great weekend!  I've got a sweet little thank you card for one of my customers, using the Pals Paper Arts sketch for this week:

PPA-292-Mar17

I hadn't used Flower Shop for a while, and I pulled out some pretty papers from the Pretty Petals stack in Mint Macaron and Basic Black:

I am not sure if I shouldn't have used two flowers of the same image, but I  went with these anyway! They were stamped in Basic Black and watercolored with Mint Macaron, then I mounted them on a circle of Very Vanilla that was embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots EF.  I also embossed the lower half of the card with the Honeycomb EF to complement the black and vanilla honeycomb DSP.  I added a little sentiment banner using Silhouettes & Script.

I just love this color combination!  Thanks for popping by today and enjoy your day!

Try Stampin on Tuesday 244

DSCF2686

Hi everyone!  It’s Tuesday, and time for another Try Stampin’ On Tuesday challenge!  Check out this awesome sketch:

Fun, right?  It came in handy as I needed two birthday cards last week….so this fit the bill quite nicely!  Pulled out some Pretty Petals DSP and went to work:

Sometimes when I create a card, I pull out a stamp set or embossing folder and use it just because it feels right, although I may not be able to explain why.  Now that I look at this card, I can see that the dotted embossing folder complements the little dots on the flowers, and the viney one complements the leaves….but I did it so subconsciously, I didn’t realize it until now!  Do you do stuff like that?  ANYWAY, the Pacific Point floral image is from Flower Shop, and the sentiment is from Endless Birthday Wishes, stamped in Old Olive---a great set!  A little enamel candy dot from the Holiday mini and some sweet little lace, oh, and a little punched flower, and it was done!

And here’s the inside, stamped with the same set for some fun:

I hope you will play along with us this week!  It’s always fun to see what the other designers come up with (Crystal’s is particularly cute this week, you must check hers out!), as well as what our participants create!  So come on and join in the fun!  You can post it at the blog, or even on our Facebook page!

A little more cooking fun….Triple Corn Casserole!  Check out the whisking action!

And afterwards, she even helped clean up!

CASology 154 and AYSI095 Speed Stamping

DSCF0880

Hey peeps!  Another Tuesday rolling around, and I was thrilled that I actually made a card in about 10 minutes for the As You See It Speed Stamping challenge:

AYSIChallenge095

Luckily, I already had a white panel and a Blushing Bride card already in my stash; I pulled out Work of Art and stamped three brush strokes in Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride and Regal Rose, then stamped  the sketchy flower from Flower Shop on each one.  I added some splatter from Gorgeous Grunge, a sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts and threw on some sequins for fun!  Wheeee, it felt good to do something quick and easy!

I am also entering this in the CASology challenge of "Repeat"!

Mojo Monday 392

DSCF9046

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I hope your week is going well!  I had some stamping time in my craft room yesterday and decided to play with the Mojo Monday sketch, one I haven’t done for a while!

I am still making thank you cards, and still trying to use up some of my DSP stash!  This combo is a wee bit busy but I loved the color combination in the Flowerpot and Flashback DSPs:

I stamped some florals from Flower Shop in Real Red and Crushed Curry and mounted them on a Very Vanilla circle, added some twine, banners and a little “thanks” from the photopolymer set Another Thank You:

This will be going out in the mail today!

Cassidy learned how to make cracker pizzas in school, so she taught me how to make them:  a couple crackers, a little sauce, a wee bit of mozzarella and 20 seconds in the microwave:

Yum!  Now they’re Grampy’s new favorite snack too!

Enjoy your day!

CAS for CYCI63

DSCF8895

Hi peeps!  Did you have a good weekend?  Ours was crazy busy but I did have time to make a couple of quick thank you cards for some customers in this design:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInlings Flower Shop CAS Stampin Up

I had some of this Moonlight DSP lying on my work table so I went to my favorite (read: I’m being lazy) layout and grabbed my Flower Shop stamp set and Lost Lagoon ink, and did some quick stamping….didn’t even ink up my stamp twice, just stamped once and then stamped again without re-inking for a lighter look and punched them out:

I grabbed a little scrap of white cardstock, stamped the “thank you” from Teeny Tiny wishes, adhered it all to a card and added some candy dots as an afterthought!  Done!  And imagine my surprise when it matched the Can You Case It sketch this week:

Flower Shop Thank You

DSCF7422

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  I have a quick card today, a thank you for one of my customers!  I recently saw this tutorial from Lynn Pratt using the Top Note die to create an swing-style card:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Flower Shop Fabulous Four Stampin Up

I used Pink Pirouette cardstock and Lullaby DSP, stamping the sentiment from Fabulous Four in Early Espresso ink directly on the DSP.  I then stamped a few of the flowers in Crumb Cake, Crisp Cantaloupe and Pink Pirouette and positioned them on the card:

I added some various centers for interest and sent it on its way!  Thanks for visiting today!

My “princess”!
