It’s Too Hot to Stamp

DSCF0980

Happy Monday, peeps!  Is it hot where you are?  After having such gorgeous weather last week, this week started off with heat and humidity, sparking a lovely sinus issue as I begin my vacation week!  I almost felt like not stamping…but I forced myself!  I managed to squeak out two cards yesterday; the first one is for Less Is More’s beach theme, as well as the colors at Colour Me…!:

I pulled out a retired SU stamp, gifted to me by my friend Teri, and stamped the scallop shell in Watermelon Wonder, using watercolor paper, stamping it off once to get a lighter shade:

I added a little Soft Sky “frame” with my aquapainter, then I stamped the shell again, cut it out & popped it up.  You can’t see it here, but I added some Wink of Stella as well as some speckles and it looks so pretty!  My final addition was a sentiment from a Crafty Secrets set and cheesecloth from Cornish Heritage Farms.

My second card is for the Match The Sketch challenge:

I just received my Paper Pumpkin and what a cute set this one is!  I needed a get-well card for an older woman at my church who fell and broke some body parts, so this came in handy!!!  I added a Cucumber Crush embossed panel (I am forcing myself to use this color), cut the gray panel in half and used the Pumpkin Pie strip as my banner.

I even added a little flower and pearl to my cactus!

Hope she likes it!  Enjoy your day!

I still have the typewriter I got in high school….can you believe it?  Cassidy wanted to try it out the other day.  She had a little trouble hitting the keys hard enough and wanted to go much faster than it was capable of handling!!!

She really liked making it go “DING”, though!!!  We’ll save this for when she’s a wee bit older….I’d like to keep it in working condition for another 43 years!

Paper Players 246

DSCF0053

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Hope you’re having a fabulous weekend, especially since it’s the Memorial Day holiday weekend in the USA!  Today Anne Marie has a sketch challenge for us at the Paper Players!  Here you go:

I was definitely having stamper’s block with my card this week…it was not the sketch; I LOVE the sketch; I just couldn’t make anything work!  Finally, I pegged together something that I liked, using some older Unity stamps:

and the color challenge from Colour Me…! shown here:

I used some SAB paper from the recent catalog; stamped my images in Bermuda Bay and colored them with a blender pen and Pear Pizzazz ink:

and then a row of polka dots using a PTI set, stamped in Smoky Slate and again, colored with a blender pen:

I received the fun baker’s twine as a gift and it worked perfectly with the colors too, so I added that behind my image for a fun embellishment!  A couple of stitched borders and a “celebrate” sentiment and my card will get added to my birthday card stash!

Hope you find the sketch inspiring and will play along with us this week too!  Here’s what the other designers created with it:

Happy Friday, peeps!  Sadly, I am always feeling rushed these days!  So my Freshly Made Sketches card using the Colour Me…! colors is pretty simple!  Here’s the sketch:

here’s the color challenge:

and here’s my card:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Artistic Outpost A Lovely Day Petite Pairs Sympathy Stampin UP

This image is from the same Artistic Outpost set, A Lovely Day, that featured the pink bike in this post!  I have never inked up this lovely tulip image, and I am always needing sympathy cards, so it seemed like a good match.  I stamped it in Crisp Cantaloupe, then filled it in with a blender pen and CC ink.  I added a few little shadowy doodads around the greenery with Smoky Slate:

The striped mat is a recycled piece from a Clearly Besotted package!!  I’ve just been waiting for a project on which to use it!  Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy “graduated” from her first gymnastics class…on to the next one!

Happy Saturday, peeps!  A quick card today using the Colour Me…! color challenge (love blue and yellow):

and the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

and a new-to-me set from Clearly Besotted called In Print:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Clearly Besotted Bee Youtiful

My friend Ellen clued me into this cute set; there are little images to stamp over your fingerprint (or the fingerprint image included in the set) and I thought a little bumblebee would be fun!  I diecut some stitched circles with my Lil’Inker dies and mounted them on some digital gingham DSP.  I already had Flower Patch sitting on my desk, so I stamped some small flowers on the Marina Mist panel and gave them some centers with my chalk marker:

DSCF9079

and the sentiment from Flower Patch fit so well, I used it too!  I added a little ruffled ribbon atop an eyelet punched strip, a button, and last, I glittered up my little bee’s wings with Dazzling Diamonds!  Enjoy your day!

You never know what Cassidy will show up wearing at the lunch table; it depends on what area of the garage she’s been in with Grampy!

CMCC65 and CASology 140

DSCF8955

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Just a quick clean and simple card for the Colour Me…! color challenge this week:

and the CASology cue for this week is “spring”:

So, I combined a current set, Adventure Awaits, with an older set, Bootiful Occasions for a tongue-in-cheek card:

I used the Cloudy Day embossing folder; colored the boots with reinkers and my aquapainter; and popped them up….and it was fun and done!

A get well card this morning using the colors from Colour Me…!, shown below:

and the sketch from Try Stampin’ On Tuesday:

And here we go:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Get Well Stampin Up Easter Blossoms

I don’t usually do well with Asian themes, but I did remember the retired Easter Blossoms had a cherry blossom image, so I stamped it in Early Espresso ink and used my Chalk pen to fill in the flowers.  My Very Vanilla background was “stamped” by inking the raised portion of the Honeycomb embossing folder with So Saffron ink and lightly pressing it on the cardstock.  I added some butterfly images from Dreams du Jour and some Gorgeous Grunge splatters:

A sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes and some So Saffron banners finished it off.  Thanks for visiting today!
