Paper Players 242

DSCF9460

Hi everyone!  It’s Sunday, and that means another challenge from the Paper Players!  This week Ann is our lovely hostess and she has an awesome sketch for us!  This is pretty close to my favorite layout, so I had lots of fun with this one!

Last week I seemed to be stuck on vintage images, so I opted for a bright, funky and fun card for today, using the soon-to-be-retired Yippee Skippee along with the cool photopolymer set, Epic Alphabet:

If you haven’t had enough coffee today, this one will wake you up for sure!  I am trying to use up my stash of DSP too…this one happens to be from the Sweet Taffy line, along with Park Lane and Maritime for the banners.  I stamped and cut out some elements from the Epic Alphabet for a little extra ooomph and decorated them with some Candy Dots as well.  The upper portion of my Tempting Turquoise card was embossed with the Zig Zag EF:

And I almost forgot the sentiment at the bottom….this one’s from A Dozen Thoughts to finish it off!

And since I needed another thank you card, I made another one (told you I liked this sketch!)….this one used Chalk Talk and an isolated word from Good Greetings along with some Lullaby DSP, Gold Satin ribbon and a few scraps:

I hope you’ll play along with the Players this week!  I always enjoy seeing what you stampy, crafty folks out there come up with!  Here’s what the DT did as well:

John has a terrible cold and was gargling in the bathroom; Cassidy was quite intrigued and wanted him to teach her how to do it:

She just about got it, too!

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I had a little bit of free time to stamp yesterday!   The Stampin’ Royalty has a beautiful color challenge this week:

and Mary Jo’s Technostamper’s challenge is a fun sketch:
So here we go!

I combined several sets here, along with some embossing, punching and bows!!  Here’s a closeup:

I’ll list the ingredients at the end.  And here’s a laugh:  I assembled the entire thing and realized I had it upside down!!  You’ve never done that, right?!   A little snip and remount, and it’s all better!  Thanks for visiting today!

It’s off!  The cast got a little buzz with the saw:

Ooops!  A little slip by the nurse; she was more frightened than anything, as the saw doesn’t cut the skin:

Prying it off:

She said “My arm is cold!!”  (Plus this is a fake pout, LOL)

A little cajoling by the surgeon and out popped a smile!

Now, she needs a good, long, hot BATH!  Thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts, prayers and well-wishes while her arm healed!!!

As You See It #43

DSCF3925-001

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  Since I seemed to have misplaced my mojo lately, I tried a new challenge (for me) along with some new stamps.  The challenge is called As You See It, and here is the inspiration photo they gave us:
AYSIChallenge043

The trick is to try to make a card in 10 minutes or less.  I did not time myself, but I think I came pretty close!  I pulled out a bunch of sets, some various green inks and just started stamping!  Other than the sentiment, it’s all one layer:

I actually have a stamp of a line of pencils, but I really wanted to use my SU stuff; I am not sure if the green florals really work, but I warned you that my mojo was missing!  Enjoy your day!

Some pool fun with new friends!

New Goodies!

DSCF2970

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Three cards today, all using some sort of new product from the upcoming catalog!  I went on a card-making blitz Tuesday morning to make some samples for my club girls, and this part of my stack!

The first one is a tall, skinny card using the new In Color Blackberry Bliss, new Moonlight DSP, new stamp set called Something to Say, and Six-Sided Sampler:

This one uses the new In Color Lost Lagoon (LOVE this) with Geometrical and Bootiful Occasions as well as the Cloudy Day embossing folder, still available on the Clearance Rack!  The boot was stamped with Memento ink, which will be available to use with the new Blendabilities, which I used on the boot as well….a learning curve with them, for sure, but fun to use!

Finally, a cute little card made with a portion of a card from the Everyday Adventure Project Life Card Collection.  I cut part of it off to use with my scrapbook page (YES, I am actually scrapbooking!) and thought it would be cute on a card.  It uses the little heart from Something to Say, punched out with the new little heart punch and embellished with the new thicker Baker’s Twine in Strawberry Slush.  Sentiment is from Yippee Skippee!

Colour Me…! 19

DSCF2636

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Today is an extra-special day, since the sweet girls on the Colour Me…! team have asked me to be their guest designer for May!  I have really found their color palettes to be fun, you should check them out too!  Here’s the one for this week:

Isn’t that a lovely inspiration photo!?  Oh so many possibilities!  For my card today, I chose to pair CC with Whisper White for a crisp, clean look:

I hadn’t used Six-Sided Sampler for a while, and it looks so fresh stamped in Cherry Cobbler, especially with a perky sentiment from Yippee Skippee and some bling:

I used the sketch from RetroSketches as well:

My little banner is another piece of Cherry Cobbler which was embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots EF!  Easy peasy!  Hope you’ll play along…there are some amazing creations made by the design team, so be sure to check them out as well as the Colour Me…! blog!

Enjoy your day!

MLS301 with Fresh Prints

DSCF1006

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Have you shoveled out from under the snow and ice the east coast received this week?  More due tonight, I hear!  Yikes!  Spring cannot come too soon, right?  I had some stampy time on Thursday (a big snow day!) and I was determined to use up some scraps from the little pack of Fresh Prints that I had…..it seems like it goes on forever!  What a great value!  My first card uses Mary Jo’s Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch 301:
and I also put to use a SAB set, Banner Blast:

I stamped the banners twice and punched them out, cutting off the points and adhering them together under the red ribbon to make them a bit longer.  I added stars and a sentiment from Make A Wish to finish it off.  My friend has ordered some birthday cards, so this will be a good start!  And here are the rest, just using scraps of the Fresh Prints pad:

Now I think I am ready for a different color combo!  Come back tomorrow when you’ll see my Paper Players creation….I am the hostess, too!  Can’t wait!

A little snow fun:

Since the snow was too deep to sled, Grampy made a ramp using the snow from the driveway!  It worked great!  Good thing we got some sledding time in, as this is now all scooped away with Uncle Raymond’s tractor!

Once inside, instead of hot chocolate, some hot vanilla (warm milk, sugar and vanilla):

Enjoy your day!
