Another Sympathy Card

DSCF9333-1

This is the sixth sympathy card I have needed in two weeks!  But it gave me a chance to use a Waltzingmouse set that hasn’t seen ink in a long while!

I’m not very good at making cards with scenery on them, and although I love the tree and the hills, I am not sure about the house in the background.  It looks a little crooked in my photo but it is straight on the card!  Anyway, the hills are masked and sponged with Lucky Limeade and Always Artichoke on a Baja Breeze card; the tree was stamped in Chocolate Chip.  The house was stamped, trimmed to fit the hills and glued on separately, then I stamped the tree branch over it again with my Stamp-a-ma-jig….very, very carefully!  A simple sentiment and ribbon/button trim finished it off.   I really love the effect of this and was happy that I tried to make a “scene”!  Thanks for visiting today!  Be sure to come back shortly for the posting of my blog candy winner!

Orange Birthday

DSCF2009

Today has been a lazy day—no babysitting for me, so I have sort of frittered it away doing some baking, laundry, cleaning and a little stamping!  Today’s SCS challenge is to use orange…and I love orange, so I thought I would make a monochromatic card using a gradient set of colors:

I also used several different sets on this card!!!  Waltzingmouse, MTME and Sweet & Sassy all got some love!  If you have questions about them, let me know!  I used Cajun Craze, Tangerine Tango, Pumpkin Pie, Only Orange and Apricot Appeal for my cardstock colors, and ran them through the Big Shot after adhering them to a piece of Big Shot Adhesive sheet.  I used the Nesties Label One die for my focus and the rock & roll technique for my butterflies.  My SIL’s birthday is coming up, so this will be for her!  Thanks for visiting today!

We tried giving Cassidy these little “puffs” of something—I forget what they are called—but they get quite sticky on her hot little hands…..so funny!

I think she must be saying to herself, “This is just too much work!!!”

Special Thank Yous

DSCF0285

I received a couple of very special gifts and thought some thank you cards were in order!  The cards use a couple of new sets from MTME and I am in love with them!  I also used some new Cosmo Cricket and My Minds Eye papers---happy, happy!  Anyway, here is the first, which has a vintage feel:

The seam binding is “captured” by a glimmer brad—very pretty IRL!  And here is the second, which has a totally different feel, even though I used similar elements:

Both are pretty clean & simple, both use crinkly seam binding and both use an outline, floral image and sentiment!  I just love how the button from my old button tin mimics the swirly pattern in the CC paper!  For any details on these cards, just email me!

This is what we woke up to at 6:30 am:

BIG snowflakes---it stopped for a while, but it’s snowing again!  I could only wish it was an April Fool’s joke!  Thanks for visiting today---I hope it’s warmer in your neck of the woods!
