SIP50 and MM207 Santa's Bag

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I realized I was falling behind on my Christmas card stamping, so I checked out a couple of challenges and went to work!  The Merry Monday challenge this week is Santa's sack, and the Stamp Ink Paper challenge has a wonderful sketch!

SIP Sketch Challenge 50 800

I remembered this silhouette image I had from Katy Sue Designs (Santa), so I stamped Santa with his sack in Cherry Cobbler on some Very Vanilla cardstock and fussy-cut him out.  The papers are from MME's Vintage Christmas 6x6 pad:

and I stamped the reindeer and sleigh image from SU's Cozy Christmas in Sahara Sand ink behind the Santa before I popped him up with some dimensionals.  The tiny sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs:

I also added a couple of die-cut pine boughs (Poppystamps) and some SU twine:

Another one added to the stash!

Cassidy found some tiny wild strawberries growing in the yard and thought they would be fun to pick for her baby dolls!

They're cute, but NOT very tasty!  Enjoy your day!

Vintage Santa

Howdy, peeps!  I've got a real simple Christmas card for you today...a little stamping, a little diecutting, a little DSP and it's done:

I'm entering this in three challenges:

The paper is from Authentique's Christmastime line (LOVE that stuff!)!  I stamped the Santa and reindeer from SU's Cozy Christmas; the Santa with his list from an older Silhouette Stamps set called Santa; and the music background called Aged Sheet Music which is from Cornish Heritage Farms, all in Sahara Sand ink.  That's the "retro" part!  The DSP also fulfills the "Santa" part...isn't this a great image:

And even though the song I had in my mind is "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas", I hope the gals at Merry Monday will give me a little artistic license!  Finally, I added some champage glimmer paper stars, just for a little sparkle:

Everything was mounted on a Very Vanilla card base!  Thanks for popping by today!

Yesterday we took Cassidy to the North Museum on the campus of Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA!  What a little gem it is!  Small, but perfect for children of her age group!  There were lots of interactive exhibits, plus reptiles, spiders, a huge ornithological display (which was my favorite), a giant microscope and lots of other goodies!  It wasn't so large that it was overwhelming..it was like Goldilocks....juuuust right!  Here are a couple of shots:

Cassidy helped the teacher do an experiment on solutions and floating!

She and Grampy posed with a huge dinosaur....whose head I chopped off!  Sorry, Mr Dinosaur!

And of course, in the dinosaur section, she had to line up the little dinosaurs, even encouraging another little boy to help her!!!

Thanks for popping by today!

Quick Tag for KJ254

Hi peeps!  A very quick post today!  I rarely make tags, but all my cards are sent out, so when I saw the Kraft Journal "Take Your Pick" challenge, I thought it might be fun to make something different and special.  I chose ribbon, glitter, Santa and tag--four picks instead of three!

My girlfriend, who is not crafty, always saves me ribbons from gifts she receives, and when she gave me this gorgeous green ribbon, I knew it would be great for my challenge!

I cut a little tag of Crumb Cake. punched the top with the Scallop Tag Topper, then simply stamped the images from Cozy Christmas in Garden Green and Crumb Cake.  I added some white stars from Holly Jolly Greetings and sponged some white ink around the edges.  Some coarse glitter was sprinkled on top for snow!

I guess I could also choose the "non-traditional" box, as I rarely see green reindeer, LOL!  I finished it off with that beautiful satin ribbon and a wee bit of linen thread!

We are almost finished with our new windows....Cassidy was AMAZED that her bedroom was totally windowless!!!  Thank goodness the temps were way above normal!

And of course, she had to be goofy!

Enjoy your day!

Paper Players 275

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Today I am the hostess at the Paper Players with a traditional color challenge for you to play with:

This is also our last challenge for the year...but we'll be back in January with more challenges and new guest designers!  So here is my card for the challenge, using Cozy Christmas, the Sleigh Ride edgelits, and the Boughs and Berries embossing folder:

I started out by embossing a Cherry Cobbler card with the embossing folder; then I stamped both images in Mossy Meadow, and stamped them again in Cherry Cobbler and  did some fussy-cutting of the flowers and the bells:

Since I was using the sketch from Create with Connie and Mary, I also diecut some trees with the Sleigh Ride edgelits and added a little "to you" from Fabulous Phrases:

And here's their sketch;

My final embellishments were some enamel dots and a big Cherry Cobbler shabby seam binding bow!

I hope you'll find some time in your busy schedule to play along with our challenge this week!  You can check out all the other designers' samples (and say good-bye to our current guest designers) at the Paper Players blog!

I had a serious helper assisting me with my Christmas card addressing this year!  She did very well adhering the postage stamps and address labels!  (She loved the Charlie Brown ones!)  So if you get a card in the mail from me, know that Cassidy put her own "stamp of approval" on it!

Blue Christmas

DSCF2295

Happy Monday, peeps!  I am sharing a Christmas card with you today; I first saw this idea here by Deb Valder, and I knew I had to CASE it, it was sooooo pretty!  My version uses some Timeless Elegance DSP, Sahara Sand for the window, and Night of Navy for my little scene from Cozy Christmas:

You can find the details on Deb’s YouTube video, but it is pretty simple to make, just some masking and stamping and sponging and glittering and layering!  Really, it’s a pretty card that has a great “wow” factor!  Thanks for popping in today!

Some serious My Little Pony coloring action:
