PPA284 Another Baby Card
Thursday, September 17, 2015
RS181 and CQC
Happy Thursday, peeps! Another sympathy card today, this one using Arielle’s Retrosketches sketch and the ColourQ color palette, neither of which I’ve played with in quite a while:
First, I flipped the sketch so my little bird wouldn’t be staring off into space! I used a Sahara Sand card base and stamped the Dictionary background stamp on it with Versamark so it wasn’t too dark. Then I went to work on my elements:
I had a scrap of textured Soft Sky in my scrap pile, so I stamped it with a MFT Distressed Background Blocks stamp, then added a diecut bird and some diecut leaves from the same Lawn Fawn set as yesterday’s card:
Same Petite Pairs sentiment too, since it was already on my desk! Thanks for visiting today!

KJ241 Sympathy
Just a quick card today; unfortunately, I need a couple of sympathy cards this week, so I used the Kraft Journal’s Take Your Pick challenge for one of them:
I chose patterned paper (some really old Basic Grey stuff in my stash); leaves and die cuts (my favorite Lawn Fawn stitched leaves) for my card:
The base is Crumb Cake, and I used last month’s Paper Pumpkin stamp set for the sentiment. I had a few extra leaves cut out, so I added them, plus sentiments from Petite Pairs, on the inside:
Thanks for visiting today!
Waiting for the bus with another “baby”:

FMS
Happy Saturday, peeps! Hope your weekend is moving along nicely! Unfortunately, I needed another sympathy card this week, and the Freshly Made Sketches sketch came to the rescue:
Petite Pairs has the nicest sympathy sentiments for inside and outside your card, so I used it with the new Tags & Labels Framelits, the small and large butterfly punches and Pretty Petals DSP:
I stamped the larger fern from Awesomely Artistic on the tag, and added some washi to the smaller butterfly. Its antenna was created with some baker’s twine, and I added a little shimmery sequin just because!
And here’s the simple inside:
Enjoy your day, and be sure to come back tomorrow for our next Paper Players challenge!
A playdoh (and toothpick) birthday cake creation!

Happy Thursday, everyone! Ahhh, the weekend is in sight! Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card this week but I had some of the gorgeous new Timeless Elegance DSP, and thought the rose pattern would be perfect:
It’s so pretty, I didn’t need to do much; I started out with a Sahara Sand card base; I added a diecut border that I embellished with some machine-stitching for the Little Red Wagon challenge this week, then a banner, a sentiment and some pearls. Sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches:
Thanks for visiting!
A day of play was just too much for Cassidy (and her doll!):

Happy Friday, peeps! Sadly, I am always feeling rushed these days! So my Freshly Made Sketches card using the Colour Me…! colors is pretty simple! Here’s the sketch:
here’s the color challenge:
and here’s my card:
This image is from the same Artistic Outpost set, A Lovely Day, that featured the pink bike in this post! I have never inked up this lovely tulip image, and I am always needing sympathy cards, so it seemed like a good match. I stamped it in Crisp Cantaloupe, then filled it in with a blender pen and CC ink. I added a few little shadowy doodads around the greenery with Smoky Slate:
The striped mat is a recycled piece from a Clearly Besotted package!! I’ve just been waiting for a project on which to use it! Thanks for visiting today!
Cassidy “graduated” from her first gymnastics class…on to the next one!
Enjoy your day!

MTS069
Happy Saturday, peeps! I found myself needing another sympathy card this week so I pulled out some beautiful Graphic 45 Botanical Tea papers I have been hoarding, along with the Match The Sketch sketch from this week:
to create my card:
I love how all the patterns on these papers coordinate. I used my drop-arm cutter to cut the right-hand panel out and flipped it over to the other side, which was a vanilla with a very light mottled tone. I stamped French Script on it very lightly in Pistachio Pudding, the over-stamped the leaves from Kinda Eclectic in the same ink. My cutting blade is very dull, so the edges of my panel were sort of distressed, so I sponged them with Sahara Sand before fitting it back into the green panel. I used a retired Cornish Heritage Farms Bible verse, stamped in Chocolate Chip ink on top:
I added the large butterfly from Papillion Potpourri, stamped in Chocolate Chip and colored with Pistachio ink atop a couple of circular elements, then I pulled out a stamp I haven’t used in AGES, Waltzingmouse’s Country Labels 4 and stamped my sentiment from Petite Pairs inside:
I love this layout as well as these papers, so hopefully I will be using them both again soon!
Baby Mike (yes, I know, he’s either naked or wearing a dress….don’t try to influence a 4YO, they do what they want to do) got some play time outside recently:
Enjoy your day! Be sure to stop back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge too!
