FMS580 The Next Adventure

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I have a fun masculine card today which makes great use of the fun Ready to Ride DSP!  I love letting the paper do most of the work! It uses the awesome sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

I already had a piece of Basic Black cardstock sitting on my desk, so I used that as my base; here we go:

I used some of the all-over DSP as well as the scrapbooking elements; the motorcycylist was trimmed down and I colored him in with a Crumb Cake blend to make him match the other elements a little better.  I also colored in some of the elements on the Very Vanilla DSP with a blender pen and some Pumpkin Pie ink to tie in with the colors in the map.  The sentiment, from the retired Hats Off, was also stamped in Pumpkin Pie and diecut with a Stylish Shapes banner die:

This sentiment, from the retired Rev Up the Fun seemed appropriate for the inside:

This will go in my stash of birthday cards for April!  Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

TSOT592 Rev Up the Birthday

Happy Friday, everyone!  I have a fun interactive card for you today; my nephew's birthday is coming up and although he's almost 30, he is still a kid at heart, so I thought I would make a spinner card for him using some of the new Ready to Ride DSP featured in the mini.  I had to refresh my memory on how to make one (they're easy to find on the internet), although I usually use images a bit smaller, I still think he'll get a kick of out this one:

To begin, I used the sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday:

The motorcycle was fussy-cut from one of the sheets of DSP, and another was used for the front; this particular pattern has a glossy finish...so fun for those tire tracks!  And this motorcycle is a trick one!  It can slide along the track, or spin around and do flips, LOL!

I used a base of Smoky Slate and a panel of Very Vanilla; the sentiment is from an old set called Rev Up the Fun, and I diecut it with a Stitched Rectangle die and added an adhesive stud for fun:

On the inside, I used sentiments from Best Family Ever and Hats Off...not sure why I didn't stamp it ALL in black, but oh well!

We're headed to his house tonight for pizza...a great way to celebrate a birthday!  Thanks for stopping by--enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC507 Hats Off

Hey there, everyone!  I am gearing up to make some masculine birthday cards...my supply is low!  Today's card features the Atlantic Hearts Sketch for this week:

I admit to using a wee bit of artistic license here; I had a specific die in mind to use and it was a little bigger than I thought, which made me not have much room for the three little embellishments; I also had to flip the sketch so my diecut would be facing the center of the card!  Enough already, here it is:

(Another confession; the grammar police in me just gets all worked up when I see the word "that" after a personal pronoun....to me, the sentiment should say "To the guy WHO wears many hats"....but I just have to swallow my irritation and wonder why I am the only one bothered by it!!!)  Anyway, I was sad that SU retired this Hats Off set and die so quickly...it's perfect for masculine cards and the end result is so fun and realistic!  I used some retired Boughs of Holly DSP for the mat, and Crumb Cake cardstock for the hat.  Very Vanilla and Evening Evergreen were used for the main panel; I colored in the mountains with a Light Crumb Cake blend, although it's hard to see here.  I added a few Resin Stars for embellishment, and a simple birthday sentiment on the inside!

Thanks for popping in today---enjoy it and be blessed!

Dana knows that I don't like anything edible that has artificial blue coloring - and even she didn't find this palatable AT ALL:

BLUE maple syrup?...yuck!

AHS489 Will's Birthday Hat

Happy Tuesday, peeps! Doesn't it sort of feel like Monday?!  It will be a short work week, right?  I have a fun card using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge for this week:

This one was a bit of a puzzler for me!  Since I needed a birthday card for my nephew Will, who is in the army, instead of all different colors for the background, I chose red and blue and added a white banner and a tan hat:

I got this Hats Off set and die at the end of last year and of course, it retired!  So this is my first time using it!  Such a fun set too!  I used different DSPs, cutting them with the Stylish Shapes dies and adhering them to a 6" x 4 1/8" card, then added my hat and white mat on which I stamped some sentiments from Your Biggest Fan:

I added a couple of stars and adhesive metallic brads to the front of the hat, stamped a sentiment on the inside, and it's ready to go.  I might just have to make a batch of chocolate chip cookies to send along with it!

While on vacation, we took an evening cruise out through the bay to see some lighthouses.  We also saw dophins and a pelican!  The sunset and clouds were beautiful:

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

"And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so.  God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good." Genesis 1:9-10
