FMS639 Season's Greetings

Happy Thursday! I have a fun little Christmas card for you today; it uses the FMS sketch as well as the theme of "gift" from Christmas Kickstart:

Here we go:

I diecut some papers from Echo Park's Christmas Salutations, embossing a sentiment on a banner also cut from the papers.  Everything went on a Tim Holtz-embossed panel of Basic White on a Mossy Meadow card.  The little gift is from the retired Little Treats, as are the inside sentiments and images:

This was a fun one to put together! Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

52 CCT24-19 Scandinavian Peace

Happy Tuesday, peeps! Sorry, another Christmas card for you...I promise I'll stamp something else here soon!  The 52 Christmas Card Throwdown wants a Scandinavian theme:

and there was an older SU hostess set called Northern Hearts that always reminded me of that sort of design.  I paired it with a Tim Holtz Deer Knit embossing folder and a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp for this:

The image was stamped in Real Red on a Spotlight on Nature diecut, then mounted on a diecut scallop as well.  The sentiment was stamped below and I added a Real Red heart, diecut with the Give It a Whirl die, as well as a little red bow that was sitting lost and lonely on my desk:

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from Brightest Glow as well as a snowflake from the Northern Hearts set:

I love crisp white and bright red together for Christmas, don't you?  Another to add to my stash!

We went to a family get-together over the weekend and I got to see Jameson & Sawyer's little sister Maven---she's now four months old!

Dana got her baby-holding fix too!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Merry & Bright in RED

Happy Wednesday, peeps! Halfway through the week! I am taking a break from Valentine's Day cards to make another Christmas card! The Jingle Belles want to see RED, so that's my theme today!  Here we go:

I got these pretty papers from Echo Park in December but didn't have time to use them, so I thought that now would be the time!  I added a snowy panel with a Simon Says Stamp sentiment, and a pretty diecut tree with some cardinals as accents:

I had a couple of cardinals left over, so I added them to the sentiment on the inside:

Plenty of red!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS616 Winter Wishes

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Winding down towards the weekend! I am still making Christmas cards because I actually make Christmas cards all year long, LOL!  So the FMS sketch called to me:

because I was looking through my stash of retired DSP and I found this one that I thought would look pretty with it:

I have a real mix of old and new here!  The DSP is from the retired Painted Christmas along with some retired Shaded Spruce DSP for the accents.  The sentiment is from Magical Meadow, diecut with the Nested Essential die, then accented with some Sweet Sorbet banners, also from the same die set:

Brightest Glow provided the inside sentiment, and I used some greenery from an older set called Winter Wishes and some berry "dots" from some set...can't remember which, LOL!

I love these traditional Christmas colors and this sketch is super-versatile!

A few more photos from Longwood!

Here's the restored red truck that was featured on the Longwood blog a couple weeks ago.  Forgive John...he hates having his picture taken! A volunteer took the photo as well...it's not the best, LOL!

It had its own license plate and wreath, decorated with red-truck ribbon:

And breathtaking views:

It boggles my mind when I think about how much time, planning and man-power it takes to put this all together!  Thanks for stopping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP666 Traditional Merry Christmas

Happy Sunday, peeps and hope you are having a great weekend! It's Joanne's turn to be our Paper Player's hostess today, and she's chosen a lovely, traditional color palette that is perfect for some holiday creativity:

Ooh, I love any chance to use some gold sparkle in my crafting, and I just chose white as my other color. So here we go:

The Timeless Arrangement bundle is fabulous, and I have discovered that you can use these foliage dies with other shapes and images besides the ones in the set itself.  For my card today, I used a sentiment from Brightest Glow, diecut it with a Stitched Rectangel die, then added various diecuts behind it in Shaded Spruce, Real Red and Gold Glimmer:

I matted it with Real Red before adding the foliage; it all went on a panel embossed with the retired Elegant Dots embossing folder and another Real Red mat.  I originally had thought to put a bow under the "M" in Christmas....I put it to a vote, and Wayne said yes to the bow, Dana and Cassidy said no.  So I went with no bow, LOL!  Sorry, Wayne!

I hope you'll check out what the DT came up with using these colors...I am thinking someone may be clever enough to make a non-holiday card with them!  We'll have to see!  I hope you'll play along too, and add your card to the gallery at the Paper Players!

As I was putting up my Thanksgiving decorations last week, I came across my vintage Thanksgiving postcards! Many readers have said how much they like them, so since yesterday was Veteran's Day, I thought I'd share one of my favorites:

This is not a family postcard; I bought it at an antique shop, so I won't share the info on the back, except the greeting:  "Hurrah! for the US flag and the turkey"!!!  A patriotic turkey, I love it!  Thanks for popping in today, enjoy it and be blessed!

Letter To Santa

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! I have a cute little card today; it uses the sketch from Inspire.Create and a theme from Peace On Earth Christmas Challenge:

There is lots of inspiration in the photo...I love all the red and white!  But I remembered that there is a little mailbox in the Stamped With Love set that I don't think I used but once, so I paired it with some One Horse Sleigh DSP and came up with this:

I heat embossed the mailbox in white on Sweet Sorbet and added some shading. I diecut some foliage from the Magic Meadow dies and colored them with blends to tuck behind it.  I added a Basic Borders diecut border from Shaded Spruce and embossed the top layer with the Wintery embossing folder:

The sentiment is from a retired set called Oh What Fun (I cut apart the original sentiment and added the "to"), diecut it with the Stylish Shapes dies and tucked it under a silver-edged bow.  The final embellishments were a few rhinestones at the top!

I had an extra sprig of greenery, so I added it to the inside along with a Brightest Glow sentiment:

I love the cheerfulness of this!  And I just realized this fits the criteria at As You See It:

Thanks for visiting today!

A couple of Eagles fans, just chillin'!  And they won!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Sing praise to the Lord, all his faithful people!  Remember what the Holy One has done, and give him thanks! His anger lasts only a moment, his goodness for a lifetime.  Tears may flow in the night, but joy comes in the morning.  Psalm 30:4-5

Quick Christmas Cards

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I have a couple of quick Christmas cards to share; these were some of the ones we made at my last Christmas card stamp camp!  Here we go:

This used the stamp set Jingle Jingle Jingle along with a diecut tree from the Snowman dies.  There's a wee little glimmer paper star at the top and we fussy-cut the Santa hat!

This one features some fun papers from Studio Light along with a sentiment from Brightest Glow, stamped in Evening Evergreen on some Soft Succulent cardstock and diecut with a gorgeous die from Stitched Labels Framelits.

This one used an oldie but goodie stamp set, Sounding Joy; I diecut a large star from Very Vanilla and stamped the words in Crushed Curry.  A So Saffron card was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder called Allegro, and we added some punched-out gold glimmer paper country stars.

Thanks for visiting today!  Lots of errands, gotta run!

Cass helped me make a Peppermint Brownie Trifle on Sunday for our covered dish.  I didn't get a picture of the final product...it had pink whipped cream on top sprinkled with crushed peppermints!  It was pretty darn yummy!

We made chocolate pudding and added Cool Whip and peppermint extract, then layered it with little pieces of brownies:

A good excuse to use that trifle bowl that's been sitting on my shelf for years, LOL!  And it looked really pretty with the whipped cream on top!   Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS561 Christmas Pine Cones

Happy Thursday, everyone!  Gearing up for a very busy weekend, so I am getting all my stamping done today and tomorrow, LOL!  I love Linda's sketch for FMS this week:

and although I was very tempted to use my Postage Stamp punch, I opted for some Stitched Rectangle dies and some pretty DSPs:

I diecut the Painted Christmas pinecone paper with a rectangle die, then added a mat using the bark paper from Boughs of Holly.  I blended some Soft Succulent ink behind the panels before adhering them, and since I don't have any current pine branch stamps, I opted to use one of the Trees for Sale trees...works like a charm!  Isn't it fun when your stamps can be used for more than one option?!  I added a few "sprinkles" in Crumb Cake with a stamp from Friends are Like Seashells, and a wee bit of Linen Thread:

I distressed the edges a little bit and sponged some Crumb Cake ink, then stamped sentiments outside and in using the Brightest Glow stamp set!  Everything went on a Crumb Cake base.

I am also entering this at Krafty Chicks, since this is their Christmas week!  That's it for today! Oh, I did want to share a photo Dana's SIL posted; she is an excellent photographer and really has an eye for capturing the most awesome images:

This is the best and ONLY way I like cobwebs, LOL!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AHSC498 Joy

Happy Wednesday, peeps! My stampin mojo has gone with the wind...not feeling so creative this week! I persevered and made a Christmas card using the Atlantic Hearts sketch:

What a fun sketch...great to use up little strips of DSP, right?!  I chose to only use two patterns: gold foil and the pretty gold print from Lights Aglow, along with an embossed sentiment from Brightest Glow.  Here we go:

The top portion of the card was diecut with the Dots & Spots die, then backed with gold foil, and I also made a border with the Scalloped Contours die.  My sentiment was heat embossed on a Very Vanilla ornament diecut with the Spruced Up Outline dies and embellished with some retired Gold Thread:

These dies are so fun because you can get two diecuts in one pass, then mix and match your components for a difference look!

Did anyone get up at 5am yesterday to look at the lunar eclipse and Blood Moon?  It was pretty cool!  I just snapped this with my cell phone...nothing fancy and I am sure there are better-looking ones out in blogland!

I was actually up at 4:30 to see the eclipse itself, so by the time supper time rolled around, I was pretty beat!  I can't hang in there like I used to!  Anyway, thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!
