Three Fall Cards

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I have three cards to share today, all with a fall (or Halloween) theme!  Here we go:

The first one uses the sketch from FMS for this week:

I used the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP, along with matching cardstocks and inks, and the Forever Fern stamp set to create my card:

It also features one of the Greenery embossing folders, some vellum, some Metallic Ribbon and some bronze Brushed Metallic DSP:

These colors are so pretty together!  The next one features the sketch from In(k)spire Me:

I used some DSP from the Flowers for All Seasons DSP, and an Indian corn image from Purple Onion, stamped in Saddle Brown Stazon:

I used some vellum for the sentiment (My Creative Time's Mixed Holiday Sentiments), added some Ornate Borders, and because it looked a little plain, I added some gold Glimmer paper too!

Finally, a silly little card I made using the CAS(E) This Sketch sketch:

I thought about using one of the Triangle Dies to create a witch hat (while in bed one night, sleepless!) and this is what I came up with:

This one won't win any beauty contests, but it did make me laugh!  (Maybe I'll send it to Cassidy!) I used the elf image from the retired Jolly Friends set, stamping it on Soft Seafoam cardstock and adding some shading with Pear Pizzazz.  Her hair is Smoky Slate cardstock; the panels are from Authentique's Nightfall paper pad, and her hat is from black and orange Glimmer cardstock:

I added a "trick or treat" diecut and mounted everything on a Soft Seafoam card embossing with a retired Cobweb embossing folder!

Phew!  Thanks for hanging in there with me....enjoy your day and be blessed! And be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!

MM254 Jolly Moose

Happy Thursday, all!  My Christmas card supply is rather low, so even though I have only one moose stamp, I thought I would play along with the Merry Monday challenge this week:

I finally broke down and got SU's embossing paste and stencils and just played around with them on a little piece of Tranquil Tide cardstock I had sitting on my desk....I just did a portion of it, trying it out.  It really is fun and easy, and it dried quickly, so I went ahead and used it for my Christmas card:

The card base is some retired Kraft paper, and I also stamped my moose image in white craft ink on Kraft as well, then embossed it with white embossing powder.  I used some Chocolate Chip ink to color him in, and Cherry Cobbler for his accessories!  Speaking of accessories, the new mini dimensionals are AWESOME for adhering little bits like the pompom on Mr Moose's hat!

I stamped some star images from the same set and added some Cherry Cobbler Double-Stitched Ribbon; the sentiment is from Merry Crittermas, also retired!  I think this moose looks a little sad, but maybe he's just cold!  Thanks for popping in today!

We went to my nephew's farm to get eggs yesterday; there is always a plethora of cats around and Cassidy cannot wait to play with them.  Most of them are black.....

but there's a little Siamese-looking one that somehow popped into the family:

She wants to bring one home SO BADLY, but sadly, Grampy says "no"!!!  (Wayne agrees!)  So we will just have to get our kitty fix every time we go for eggs!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new As You See It challenge!

Cable Knit Projects

Happy Friday, peeps!  No challenges today, but I was inspired by my friend Michele when I saw her mitten post here.  (She is SO creative!)  Instead of a mitten, I thought I would make a couple of projects using the Cable Knit embossing folder...and the first one is a little hat:

I drew a hat pattern, cut two hats from white cardstock and embossed one with the EF.  I embossed another smaller piece and trimmed it along a cable to create the bottom portion of the hat:

I watched this video (it's long and the tutorial is towards the end, but it's a great video) to show how to create a fold at the top of a shaped card, and then I added a Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper "pom pom".  I created it by punching a 7/8" scallop, then adhering it to a scrap, turning it a wee bit and repunching it:

I didn't have cute little greenery like Michele did, but I cut some diecuts from the Pretty Pines thinlets instead.  I made a little banner with a sentiment from Flourishing Phrases and added some holly from Stitched with Cheer:

And surprise...I added some Warmth and Cheer DSP on the inside to create a little pocket for a gift card!  I adhered it right along the very edges with Tear 'n Tape:

I added a sentiment from Stitched with Cheer and it was all done!  Just make sure when you assemble it that you measure the length; if your pompom extends too far, you won't be able to stick it in an envelope!  And while perusing Pinterest in the wee hours of a sleepless night, I saw gazillions of Ugly Christmas Sweaters, so I did this one, just for fun!

It's hard to see, but it's mounted on a white "t-shirt", and his bells are cut from gold foil!  Even DH knew what it was!!

December 1 meant that Cassidy got to set up her Advent Calendar!  Dana told me she was up at 5am, and she told her to go back to bed, LOL!  6:15 and she couldn't wait any longer:

A wee little bit of candy to go with the bedhead!

Enjoy your day!

FMS262 Ho Ho Ho

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Boy, this week is just whizzing by....way too fast, too!  Jen's cute FMS sketch caught my eye yesterday:

I had gotten this Jolly Friends set mostly for the Santa hats and accessories....I wasn't real keen on the elf and Santa faces, but I forced myself to stamp Santa and do some coloring:

Santa was stamped with Memento ink on heavy white cardstock and colored with an aquapainter and some Blushing Bride ink; then I added some Calypso Coral for his cheeks and a wee bit of Smoky Slate as a shadow on his beard.  I punched out his hat with some glimmer papers and mounted it all on a Mint Macaron DSP stitched circle.  The sentiment is from Oh What Fun; the striped piece is from Presents and Pinecones, along with a wee sliver of Cherry Cobbler.   I added a star near the sentiment as well as on the inside:

The holly jolly sentiment is from Stitched with Cheer; the holly is from Oh What Fun.  And I think this IS a fun card!

Tuesday was such a beautiful day...didn't feel like November at all!  After we voted, since Cassidy had no school, we played at the park next to our township building for almost two and a half hours! There were so many kids there, she had a really good time!  After we came home and had lunch, we played outside some more!  And acted silly:

Enjoy your day!
