CAS222 Get Well Soon

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Here's a real quick CAS get-well card for the CAS on Sunday challenge:

This is an old Lockhart stamp I've had for years; I stamped it in Memento black and colored it with some Blends; the sentiment is an even older one from Cornish Heritage Farms and it's never been used! I added Pear Pizzazz and Bermuda Bay mats, then mounted it on a Basic White card base embossed with the Stitched with Whimsy die:

Clean, simple and easy!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS388 Merry and Bright

Hello, peeps!  FINALLY we are having a nice, sunny weekend...it's actually kind of hot!  I'll take it, no rain!!!  How about a Christmas card to celebrate, LOL?  I was a little stumped by the FMS sketch this week:

I had started to use this cute little kitten in a mitten for another challenge but realized it might work for the FMS one, so here we go:

My card base is Crumb Cake and the stars were stamped on some dark green Tim Holtz paper in Mossy Meadow.  I stamped my kitty on some watercolor paper, colored him in with an aquapainter, inks and markers, then fussy-cut him out and popped him up on some plaid Christmas paper from my scrap pile:

I had a hard time figuring out whether or not to put a sentiment on the front; I finally found a wee little one from a past Paper Pumpkin set and stamped it on some gold-color paper from Graphic 45; I used the same paper and ink to stamp the inside sentiment on a die-cut banner from Concord and 9th.

I am in the mood to make a few more Christmas cards....my stash is low!  Be sure to come back tomorrow to see what the Paper Players are up to....it's not Christmas, but I think you'll like it!

I lured in this little ginger last week with some goldfish crackers "bait"...and I got him hooked!  LOL...he's my great-nephew Sawyer.  He was definitely more interested in the snack than the softball game in the background!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS327 Sympathy

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  It has been a lazy day today, lots of snow falling outside, so I spent a little time in the craftroom.  Sadly, we found out last evening that a friend of the family, who also happens to be a co-worker of John's at the propane company, passed away very suddenly while on the job.  His daughter babysat Dana and his son was a friend of Dana's in youth group.  A young 67, he will be missed greatly; he always had a funny story or an anecdote to share, but we know he is in the company of our Lord, probably talking his ear off too!  I used Jen's lovely FMS sketch for a card for his wife:

Deb and I have had several conversations about knitting and crocheting, of which she does both!  I love this little basket of yarn from Lockhart; I had this even before I starting knitting myself!  I stamped it on Thick Very Vanilla cardstock in Stazon ink and watercolored it:

And I just received this cross-stitch DSP yesterday from my sweet, generous friend Teri.  Honestly, she showers me with all kinds of goodies!  Paired with the Cable Knit embossing folder and some stitched dies, I thought it looked very "homey":

I added a strip of the same paper along the inside and added a Bible verse from Our Daily Bread Designs:

Thanks for popping in today!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for another Inspired By challenge!

No Cassidy pix but a lot of snow!  John had just cleaned up the downed branches and hopefully the weight of this snow won't cause more damage!

The clothesline was so heavy with snow, but the birds are light enough to not knock it off!  They fight each other at the suet!  Thankfully, the storm is finally fabating and the wind is blowing the snow off the branches.

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CASology 75 & IB100

DSCF9814

I really, really tried to stay out of my craft room today, but I just couldn’t do it!  Cassidy has a little cold, so she is taking a long nap and I could not resist the Inspired By photo for this week:

as well as the CASology  cue card:

I just love this little Lockhart stamp, and it seemed a perfect fit for both challenges:

Following the “round” cue of the balls of yarn, I diecut some circles from some Jingle DP by Lilybee Designs and stamped a PTI sentiment.  The image was stamped in Stazon and colored with Mellow Moss and Sahara Sand inks and an aquapainter on Naturals White:

I added a little cross-stitched felt heart for some sweetness!

My sweet friend Sandy always gives Cassidy stickers…here, she and Grampy are checking out a whole sheet of Christmas ones:

Of course, Lambie had to help too (with the help of Grampy!!!):

Merry Monday 87

DSCF9659

Monday is here again!  The weekend went by too quickly!  Here’s the Merry Monday challenge for us today:

Yay!  Mittens!  I love mittens!  Since I just did a mitten-shaped card a couple weeks ago, I decided to use a little Lockhart stamp that hadn’t seen much love in a while:

Truthfully, I had another card made for this challenge, but I saw my friend at church yesterday wearing a pin I made her a few years back (can’t find the post) and that prompted me to remember I even had this stamp!  So glad she wore it, because I love this wee little kitty!  I stamped her on shimmery white paper in Stazon and watercolored her, then cut her out & popped her up:

I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps:

and I heat-embossed the sideways sentiment so it would show up well on the patterned DP:

I also did a little sewing, just for fun!  And here’s the inside:

This is also for the Raisin Boat Christmas challenge 17

Won’t you come along to Lesley’s blog, Always Playing with Paper, and play along with our mitten challenge this week?  We’d love to see your warm woolie creations!!!

Here are a few more fronts of Cassidy’s Advent Calendar:

ColourQ 140

DSCF3009

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Are you ready for another color challenge from the ColourQ?  How about this:

cqc140

Don’t these colors just make you feel HAPPY?!  I went to a Lockhart stamp I hadn’t inked up in a while:

CQC140 - LeAnne

It just seems I am on a watercoloring kick lately!  I stamped the image in Stazon on Shimmery White cardstock and colored it with an aquapainter and some inks; added a couple circle mats, some buttons and a cute little PTI sentiment, and it was done!  The line of hearts is from SU’s PS:  I Love You!

DSCF3008

Easy peasy!  Be sure to stop by the ColourQ blog to see what the other creative courtesans have come up with, and share your bright creation as well!  Can’t wait to see what you do with these colors!

PPA97, WT326 Get Well

DSCF8013-1

Today’s SCS challenge WT326  is to use piercing, and the Pals Paper Arts challenge 97 is to show your style (and they have blog candy too!)!  My style depends a lot on my mood!  Today was a watercoloring mood!  I have an acquaintance in my Senior Circle Knit Wits group who had some surgery.  I just began attending this group; I DO NOT knit, but I love doing counted cross stitch, so I bring my project and the others bring their knitting and we sit in the beautiful lounge area of our local grocery store!  For an hour, I can just sit and sew and chatter away—it is so nice!  Anyway, this Lockhart knitting basket stamp was perfect for her card:

DSCF8011-1

I stamped the image on watercolor paper and played to my heart’s content with my reinkers and aquapainter!  I stamped the gingham background in Daffodil Delight and cut it out with a Nestie; I added a sentiment using Laura’s little Sentiment Flag die (that thing is SO handy!) and shabbied up some seam binding to give it an additional country feel.

DSCF8012-1

I like Copics, but I really love watercoloring!  Thanks for looking today!  Another scorcher here—stay cool!

Groovy Banana Chip Challenge

Wow, that sounds like some sort of ice cream concoction, doesn't it?! That is today's Color Challenge, and this card took waaaaay too long to make! Not really happy with it, but I have lots to do so this will be a quick post.

07-08-08 Challenge

07-08-08 closeup

I wish the colors were a little truer, because they really are cute IRL!! The image is stamped in Brown Stazon and watercolored with ink. I added some sparkle to the sand with Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I punched a bunch of circles, trying to do another sketch challenge and just GAVE UP, but used a few just for fun at the bottom of the card. I do like the color combo, I guess I just need to play with them a little more! TFL!
