PP515 Turkey Time

Happy Sunday, everyone! Happy NOVEMBER!  Time for a new Paper Players challenge; this week Laurie is our hostess with a fun seasonal theme:

This one gave me a giggle, so I went literal and found an older SU turkey stamp, so here we go:

I used the sketch from The Spot:

and I just gathered up some fall-colored leftover pieces of patterned paper to create my layout.  I stamped Mr Turkey in Soft Suede and added the sentiment (same set) in Cherry Cobbler, and it all went on a Bumblebee card base.  I did use Faux Suede Early Espresso ribbon as well as the current Banner Year for the little embellishments and the inside sentiment:

So, how will you be inspired by our prompt this week?  It doesn't have to have a turkey on it, but use your imagination!  We can't wait to see what you create!  And be sure to drop by the Paper Players blog to get some inspiration from the talented Design Team!  Thanks for popping in!

I imagine this is some video game character....at any rate, it looks rather scary!  Not like the homemade Halloween costumes of my day, LOL!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP367 Sketch from Claire

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Claire is our Paper Players hostess with an awesome sketch today!  I pulled out some oldie but goodies for my creation!!  So here we go:

Last fall, I got some sweet stickers and DSP from Photo Play called Autumn Day, and I wanted to play with them to make a Thanksgiving-themed card!  I found some retired Mellow Moss cardstock for my card base and just mixed and matched some papers, stickers and elements for my "thankful" card:

Does anyone remember this little turkey?  He was a single stamp with "give thanks" underneath, both of which I unmounted from the wood block and created two separate stamps!  He looks pretty snazzy stamped in Chocolate Chip ink:

This sentiment is from Good Greetings, another retired stamp, and I accented the panel with some baker's twine and a Corrugated Elements heart:

And for the inside, another real oldie, from a set called Falling Leaves:

I am going to "pin" this sketch so I can go back to it again and again!  I hope you'll find a good use for it and share your creation with us at the Players this week!  Meanwhile, check out what the others did here:

And speaking of leaves, Cassidy raked up a few straggly leaves (sadly, our leaves are really pathetic this year!) and jumped in them:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Paper Players 223

DSCF6280

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Wow, what a busy week I just went through!  I am so happy to see Sunday!  My upline Pennie had a meeting for some of her downline at my church yesterday, and we had such a nice time!  It’s always fun to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones!

Today it is my turn to be hostess for the Paper Players, and I have a sketch for you:

I have one last Thanksgiving card for you using this sketch, and I have to chuckle; this is in the mail already to my sister in South Carolina, and she happened to be sitting right next to me as I was typing this up, but she was on her iPad and not paying a bit of attention to me, so it will be a surprise to her when she goes home today and finds it in her mailbox!

As I look at my photo, the Very Vanilla circle looks almost stark white, but it really matches quite nicely IRL!  My card base is Very Vanilla, and I added a Crumb Cake panel stamped with the retired Linen background stamp; the plaid is some retired DSP from a couple of autumns ago.  The sentiment is from last month’s Paper Pumpkin kit!   The turkey is a single stamp (also retired; I think it’s called GIve Thanks) that I stamped in Early Espresso and matted on an EE scallop:

I added a burlap ribbon layered with two EE ribbons, and on top, an acorn that I painted with acrylic paints:

On the inside, the turkey makes an appearance again, this time stamped in Crumb Cake, with a retired sentiment from Holiday Best stamped on top.

I hope you’ll find some inspiration with my sketch this week, and be sure to share your creation with us at the Paper Players!  Check out what the other designers did as well!

I didn’t really get many photos from our meeting, but here is one of me and my little downline:

My friend Joan; me; my downline Laura; her downline Dawn; and my downline Jen.  We had a lot of fun, learned lots of stuff and went home with lots of goodies!

And just so you don’t miss her too much, here’s Miss Cassidy at a local mall:
