Christmas Gnome

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a good weekend!  I am really late today but after our Easter celebrations yesterday, I just relaxed and didn't stamp a thing!  But I did get a little card made this morning for the Just Us Girls color challenge as well as the Addicted to CAS one-layer challenge (although it may not be quite CAS enough!):

So here we go:

I used my Stamparatus to first stamp the Nordic snowflakes along the edge, then stamped my gnome and after masking him off, stamped the trees behind him.  I colored him with Blends:

then added the sentiment and hearts:

Then finally, the sentiment on the inside!

Thanks for popping in today!

The temperature was 22 degrees this morning when I woke up and our yard and fields were covered with frost, so it felt appropriate to be stamping a Christmas card!  Hopefully it will warm up!  It was a wee bit warmer yesterday as we went to my nephew's house for lunch:

Jameson and Sawyer were happy to see their cousin, and Grammy was happy because she wore a pretty DRESS!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP531 Hello Spring

Hi stampers!  Happy Sunday!  It's time for a new Paper Players challenge; Claire is our hostess with this lovely theme challenge:

Oh my, so many choices!  In the end I opted to use that little bunny in the corner as my inspiration!  I pulled out one of my favorite old SU sets called Hello Spring!  And here we go:

I had this piece of retired magnolia paper on my desk for another project and although Petal Pink is a hard color for me to work with, I thought it would make a nice spring card!  I had an idea to make a wreath, but most of the wreath stamps I had were too "flimsy".  Then I remembered a fall wreath stamp that I had from Fun Stampers Journey, so after adhering my DSP to my cardstock, I stamped it in Soft Suede, then embellished it with a few little springy flowers and twigs...and of course, a bunny:

The sentiment is from the same set, although I cut it apart so that I could create a linear sentiment on a banner; I added a little Pierced Bloom diecut flower too:

I just love that little bunny!  What will inspire you from our photo?  Spring is definitely in the air, so get out your stamps, ink and paper and create something springy, then share it with us at the Paper Players blog!  Check out what the design team did as well!  Thanks for popping in today!

Dana spent a few minutes trying to teach Cassidy to crochet....not sure how long it will last, neither of them have a lot of patience, LOL!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

RRCB143 Fall Blessings

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Time for a new Retro Rubber challenge, where we give our older stamps some love!  We've got a color challenge today:

Image may contain: food, text that says 'Retro Rubber Challenge #143 color me! (use only yellow and green on your card) September 2020 September 18, 2020, color challenge #rrcb143'

I pulled out a Fun Stamper's Journey set from 2017 called Harvest Wreath to create a pretty little wreath for my card today, although looking at it here, it looks a wee bit lopsided, LOL!:

I stamped the wreath in Old Olive ink and added some berries in Crushed Curry, then cut several leaves from various shades of yellow cardstock using my favorite (and old!) stitched leaves dies from Lawn Fawn.  I embellished the wreath with some Daffodil Delight ruched ribbon and Old Olive linen thread:

I stamped "fall" in Pear Pizzazz on Pear Pizzazz cardstock and diecut it with the matching die; the "blessings" was isolated from a sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings:

It all went on an Old Olive card with a Pear Pizzazz mat!  I left the inside blank for a future occasion!  It was fun to use Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz....I haven't used them for a while and it was nice to ease into fall cardmaking with them!  I hope you'll play along with our color challenge this week at Retro Rubber!  Just remember to use stamps at least a year old and tell us how old they are!  Can't wait to see what you create!

And I just found a new challenge called Color Hues, and their first color combo is also yellow and green, so I am entering it there as well!

Thanks for popping in today!

"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.  If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.  Each one should test his own actions.  Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else, for each one should carry his own load."

Galatians 6:2-3

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP460 Tall Skinny Gnome

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Wow, summer is back again...it's been hot this weekend!  Hopefully we can cool off looking at my latest Paper Players card!  The amazingly-talented Claire came up with a fun new challenge...a tall and skinny sketch!!  How fun is that?!

My card is definitely skinny....2 1/2" across and 6" tall!!  This little gnome (Fun Stampers Journey) was calling my name, he hadn't been inked up for a while, so I stamped him twice, once in Real Red and again in Smoky Slate, and did a little cutting and pasting:

After coloring in his nose and beard with Blends, I stamped a Real Red heart, some trees in Smoky Slate to create a backdrop, and they were all mounted on a piece of Whisper White cardstock embossed with a Nordic pattern.  It's too bad you can't see the Wink of Stella on his beard, it's quite sparkly!   A piece of retired SU DSP worked perfectly for my vertical panel!

A couple more images on the inside and a fun Christmas sentiment from Paper Smooches, and my card was done:

And since the Christmas Kickstart Challenge is featuring Scandinavian designs this week, I am entering it there as well!

I hope you'll play with our sketch this week...there is lots of room for creativity, and the tall and skinny feature will challenge you to do something different!  Be sure to check out what the Design Team did at the Paper Players blog!  See you there!

Talk about a dog just enjoying the day:

I am sure Eden is thinking "Wayne, you've got a nice drink....where's mine?"  LOL  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Twofer Wreath Challenge #11

Hi peeps! I am running very late today...I have my last stamp club of 2018 tonight so I spent the morning getting ready, and this colder weather has my allergies acting up!!  Anyone else "suffering" the same way?  I think it's all those yucky wet leaves!  Anyway, I got a very little bit of stamping time in over the weekend and made a couple cards for the Twofer Card Challenge, in which I have never participated!  My friend Carol is a guest designer there, so I decided to give it a try!  They're extremely CAS because that's all the energy I had, LOL!  So here we go:

I used Fun Stampers Journey's Harvest Wreath for the wreath; the wreath on the Thanksgiving card was stamped with Soft Suede ink and embellished with some faceted gems from Amber Moon; sadly, the photo just doesn't capture how pretty they are here:

My diecut sentiment was from the same set, stamped in Cajun Craze and overstamped with a stamp from Timeless Textures; the together was from The Paper Studio:

I finished it off with a Braided Linen Twine bow:

My second card is a Christmas card; the wreath was stamped in Soft Sea Foam, and the sentiment was stamped in Balmy Blue:

I colored some pearls with a Pink Pirouette Blend and added a Powder Pink bow:

And since the Christmas Card Throwdown's challenge is to use pink, green and blue, I am entering this one in their challenge as well!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Cassidy snagged another sunrise photo from her kitchen deck this morning:

And here is a sunrise photo my brother took very early one morning over the fountains of Longwood Gardens:

Gnome for the Holidays

Hi all!  Happy Saturday!  We are off today to take my dad and another friend to the local senior center for a free Veteran's Day breakfast!  We had to tell my dad that we were just "taking him out for breakfast" because he would probably balk if he knew he was going to a senior center!!!!  At any rate, amidst all the rain yesterday I had time to make a quick little card for two challenges:  CAS(E) This Sketch and the "Home Sweet Home" Time Out Challenge:

I often see gnome stamps on other people's cards but never saw any that really appealed to me until recently, so I took the plunge and bought a set!  So here is my "gnome for the holidays" creation:

Isn't he a cutie?  I colored him with Blends and fussy-cut him out and mounted him on a card that was diecut with stitching around the edge:

He was quick and easy to do, too!  Thanks for popping in today--be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!

A little jump-rope action!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SIP 175 Give Thanks

Happy Friday evening, wet, rainy, cold, damp Friday evening!  I don't usually post two posts in one day, but I wanted to squeak this card in for the Stamp Ink Paper gratitude challenge:

I haven't played with them for a while, and I just had to use some of the Authentique scrapping papers I bought recently....I always think they're so beautiful and then I never use them!!!  So I forced myself to make a Thanksgiving card with this sunflower image and some other goodies that I just got:

The embossed layer is some retired Confetti Cream, embossed with a Fun Stampers Journey folder called Cozy Knit; I gave it a little color with a sponge dauber and some Crumb Cake ink, just to bring out the pattern a bit.  The diecut sentiment is also from FSJ, stamped in Mossy Meadow.  I stamped just the word "give" from a retired SU set inside a little stitched circle and punched it out  tuck behind the "thanks".

I love the big bold image with the big bold sentiment!  Thanks for popping in this evening!

No Cassidy pictures, but I snagged this wee bit of moss growing in my driveway...it's only about an inch across, but it was glowing against the drab pavement of my drive:

Isn't nature resilient...and tenacious?!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Thankful in Gold

Happy Monday, peeps!  What a lovely fall weekend we had!  Did you remember to set your clocks back?  I love having an "extra" hour, but hate that it gets dark so early!!  I have one of my stamp clubs coming this morning, so this will be short and sweet!  My card today is for two challenges, the Inkspire Me color challenge and the Festive Friday Thanksgiving/Thank You challenge:

#festivefridaychallenge, #FF0020, Stampin Up, Thanksgiving, Thank you

And here we go:

I had a piece of Sahara Sand already cut to mat size in my folder, so I embossed it with Sahara Sand ink and the Buffalo Check background stamp.  The wreath is from a new-to-me company, Fun Stampers Journey; it was stamped in Mint Macaron and fussy-cut.  I heat-embossed some leave with Gold Encore ink and gold embossing powder, then added some "berries" punched with a 1/8" punch:

The "Thankful" is a die from Close to My Heart, as is the "give thanks" sentiment that I stamped on the inside left of my card; the blessing sentiment is from Right at Home:

I managed to give a lot of companies some love for this card, LOL!

After our shoebox packing party on Saturday, Cassidy went to the pastor's house, where she took charge and gave the boys some karate lessons!  It gave the pastor's wife a little break and they were both sad when Daddy came to pick her up!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!
