PP646 Most Wonderful Sketch

Happy Sunday, stampers!  I am beginning to feel like a mushroom here in SE PA, it has done nothing but RAIN for the best part of the week, with several more days ahead.  I guess I shouldn't complain, as we were almost in a drought; that certainly has been taken care of!  Anyway, it's time for a new Paper Players challenge with the lovely Claire as our hostess, and she has a fun sketch for us:

The Jingle Belles are also having a masculine Christmas card challenge, so I decided to combine both the challenge and the sketch for my card today, since Christmas is only SIX MONTHS AWAY!!!:

Nothing says "masculine" like dad going to pick up the family Christmas tree in his truck, right?  The retired Hostess set Holiday Haul provided the perfect little image to go along with these fun papers from Violet Studio Designs!

Sentiments are from Close to My Heart, and I even stamped a little Santa sack on the inside as well!

Claire has designed such a fun sketch for us, I plan to use this for an upcoming stamp camp myself!  And I hope you'll find some inspiration from it as well!  Be sure to check out what the design team at the Paper Players has come up with and share yours with us too!

Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

TCC161 If Friends Were Pumpkins

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  It's time for a new Card Concept challenge, where we describe our cardmaking process!  Here's our prompt from Julie today:

You could be inspired by the scene, the colors or the theme!  Anything goes! Just be sure to tell us your cardmaking style!  (See the blog if you need help figuring out what your "style" is!)  As usual, I went Clean-and-Layered...just can't seem to get past that, it must be my favorite!  I pulled out a hostess set from last year called Holiday Haul that barely got any ink, and here's what I came up with:

I started by making a mask and sponging some Seaside Spray on some Basic White cardstock to create a little sky!  I added leaves from Sparkle of the Season, then stamped and fussy-cut the truck and pumpkins separately and popped them up:

I found some fun plaid DSP that matched my colors pretty well, added a Balmy Blue mat, then stamped a sentiment from Pretty Pumpkins directly on the DSP:

I admit my truck wheels are not done very well, but I guess it adds to the "charm" of this simple card, LOL!  I hope you'll find some inspiration and come play with us!  The design team has done a fabulous job with their creations as well....stop by at The Card Concept and check them out as well!  Thanks for visiting today!

No, not a new pet....just a friendly one belonging to the owners of a local winery that the kids like to frequent!  Isn't he adorable?!  Cassidy loved playing with him!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS414 Brightly Shining

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  This week has been a week of issues!!  Computer issues, sinus issues,  appointment issues, bank issues...you name it!  Blessedly, most of them are resolving themselves but my stamping time has been limited!  When I saw the cute sketch at FMS this week, I just sat myself down and went to work!  Here's the sketch:

I'm trying to use up the supply of DSP I have, so I went to the Night Before Christmas pack, which I find a little challenging to use, as there are so many colors in it!  I found a couple that seemed to coordinate, and as usual, once I started working with them, I ended up liking my final outcome:

I used a sentiment from Shine Bright (and after looking at the DT's cards,  I should have oriented it the other way, oops), stamped on Very Vanilla, and a little tree from Holiday Haul to accent it:

I stamped the stars on top of the tree with  Delicata Gold ink and then heat-embossed them with Gold embossing powder, and added a little scrap of Gold glimmer paper for some extra pizzazz!  I forgot to use my Embossing Buddy on my tree before sprinkling the powder on, so the whole tree itself got a little sprinkle....but it looks cool!  A happy accident!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Reindeer and Turkeys

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I have two cards today...one features a reindeer and the other a turkey!  For the Jingle Belles challenge this week, they want to see Rudolf!  This wee little reindeer from Holiday Haul is a perfect image for the challenge, especially when he is embellished with a tiny red glimmer nose:

I used an 1/8" punch to punch out his nose!  Toile Tidings makes a great background, and I stamped Rudolph in Soft Suede and added a Soft Suede mat behind the stitched circle:

The sweet sentiment is from the hostess set Greatest Part of Christmas:

Now, for my turkey card!  After seeing Su Mohr's beautiful use of the Day of Thanks stamp set, I finally broke down and got it for myself!  I need a few samples using it, so I used the Tuesday Morning Sketches sketch for this one:

And here's their sketch:

I stamped Tom in Early Espresso and colored him with assorted Blend markers.  My card base is Sahara Sand, and I embossed the front with the Subtle EF and added a panel of gingham DSP.  I had a hard time imagining sequins with my turkey, so I stamped some small leaves from a past Paper Pumpkin kit in Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake, fussy-cut them out and placed them around my turkey image.

I added a half-circle scalloped mat in Real Red, and stamped a sentiment from the same set inside, along with a few subtle leaves:

I actually cut apart the Happy Thanksgiving stamp that I used on the front...it's easy to match back together to make it long again, and having it in two pieces allows me to stamp it in different orientations!  Thanks for visiting today!

I had a little free time last month and picked up a couple of cross-stitch projects to do....this one turned into a little pillow:

I had some buffalo print fabric in tan and black for the border and back, and I hand-stitched some SU black lace trim around the edges!  Now I am working on a little tom turkey sampler!  I just went to the frame shop today and almost had a heart attack when I got the price for a frame....I think I am in the wrong business! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CTS346 Mini Snowman

Hi peeps!  I wanted to squeeze this CAS(E) This Sketch card in before the deadline!  Here's the sketch:

And here's my card!  It uses a Memory Box die (Mini Snowman Collage) I bought a while ago and today's the first time I've used it!!!

The die features a snowman and all his little parts...and when I say little, I mean little!!  That nose is the tiniest diecut I've ever worked with!  I used a Lil' Inker stitched rectangle die for the outside, diecut all his little pieces, then backed it with some Let It Snow Specialty DSP:

The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Christmas, and the snowflake from Holiday Haul!  Even thought his parts were WEE, he is super cute and he was fun to assemble!  Thanks for popping in today!

Halloween trick-or-treating just plumb wore Eden out!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FF175 Joyful Christmas

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Hope you have something fun planned to do today!  My day seems to have gotten away from me already!  Off to a very slow start!  Anyway, I have a Christmas card for you, using the Fab Friday sketch:

and I used the adorable hostess set Holiday Haul...I just love all those little images, they're so fun!  I used some papers from CTMH for all my backgrounds as well:

The circular piece was cut from a scrapbooking card; I added a stitched layer of snow and stamped the truck and tree on separate pieces of cardstock and cut them out....the wheels were punched from Basic Black cardstock with an 1/8" punch and glued on!  I used a white gel pen to add the centers:

The sentiment is from an older Papertrey set; the snowflake is also from Holiday Haul; I punched it out with a 1/4" punch and mounted it on a 1/2" punched layer.  The bottom portion of the sentiment is diecut with the scallop border die from Be Mine...that set is worth buying, just to have that little die, LOL!

I added a liberal sprinkling of Ice Stampin' Glitter on the tree and ground too!  Such a fun, cheery card!  Thanks for popping in today!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!

I have to brag on my daughter a wee bit....she made this stunning wreath for her door:

She actually crocheted around a metal wreath frame, then added the flowers and bow!  We were joking about where we get our creativity...my maternal grandmother loved to craft, but she passed away just about the time I was getting the crafty bug, so we never really had much time to craft together.  My maternal grandfather was a florist, not only did he have greenhouses, but he also had a shop and did flower arranging.  So I would say Dana and I got our genes from that side of the family!  Either way, I am proud of all the crafty goodness she added to this, it's beautiful!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
