PP661 You Warm My Heart

Happy Sunday, everyone!  I am the hostess over at the Paper Players today and I've got a fun seasonal color theme for you to play with:

I am sure I had Halloween on my mind when I chose these colors several months back, but being the rebel that I am, I chose to not do Halloween because I just got this cute little set called Warmest Heart and I thought I could incorporate the colors using the images from it.  So here we go:

I stamped the thermos on a piece of plaid Highland Heather DSP and the lid on cardstock, then used the dies to cut them out, along with the little embellishment piece.  I stamped, diecut and colored the flowers in the challenge colors, then stamped an Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie leaf and fussy-cut them out.

They all went on a "mat" from The Greetery (if anyone has any hints as to how to get out all the little fringes without breaking them off, I'd be grateful.  None of my usual tricks are working!) in Basic Black.  I stamped the sentiment, diecut it as well and it all went on a Radiating Stitches diecut panel.  I did add a little bit of stamping on my Pumpkin Pie panel and adhered it all to an Old Olive card.

For fun, on the inside, I stamped a row of leaves, and omitted a sentiment.  I'll add one when I decide the recipient and occasion!

So what will you create with these colors?  Will you go traditional Halloween or think outside the box!  Stop by the Paper Players to see what the designers did, then get inspired and create something of your own to share!  Can't wait to see what it will be!  Thanks for visiting today; enjoy it and be blessed!

PP563 Clean & Simple Birthday

Happy Sunday, peeps, time for a new Paper Players challenge!  This week Jaydee has a clean and simple birthday challenge for us:

My usual style for clean and simple means a lot of open space and limited stamping.  But I think it can also be just one image and one color! I have had this autumn image for several years and I don't even know the manufacturer!  It's so detailed, I just stamp it, add a sentiment and a couple of embellishments and call it done:

I used Cajun Craze for my ink and card base selection.  I just love the detail on this:

I hope you'll play along with our clean and simple challenge!  Be sure to check out what the other DT members stamped, then get your supplies ready and play along!  See you at the Players!

Grampy just had his driveway paved and it was the perfect surface for Cassidy's four square grid!  She even got out a yardstick and measured each square....although it wasn't perfect, it was good enough!

It will stay until the rain washes it away! Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

"Consider what God has done:  Who can straighten what he has made crooked?  When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider:  God has made the one as well as the other.  Therefore, a man cannot discover anything about his future." Ecclesiastes 7:13-14

FMS399 Autumn Mists

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Yesterday was SO dreary and foggy, I had a hard time getting any energy to create anything!  But I really wanted to play with the FMS sketch this week, because I love things in threes!  Isn't it a great one?

I decided to break into some "hoarded" items I've had for a while....these are puffy stickers from Prima's Amber Moon line; the papers are from Recollections and Amber Moon as well.  So here we go:

I started by diecutting stitched squares from the background paper, then added my stickers on each one:

One of the Amber Moon papers had this pretty design in the corner, which matched my stickers, so I stamped an autumn sentiment from Impression Obsession's Autumn Squares on top with Soft Suede ink:

I stamped another Impression Obsession word box stamp in Sahara Sand ink on the inside, then stamped a birthday sentiment from the current Seaside Notions on top.  I just love that effect!

The whole card is 4 3/4" square, so I will probably make a custom envelope to fit, but I just haven't done that yet!  I really don't want to think about fall quite yet, as I am enjoying the summer, but I just couldn't resist using these new goodies!  Thanks for visiting today!

We had a horrendous downpour yesterday, just for about 30 minutes, but it decimated some of my huge marigolds; they grow to about 2' tall, and the rain was just too much for them, and some of the stems broke at the base.

One plant was totally gone...every single branch broken off.  My SIL had given me a rose tree that was in pretty rough shape, so John planted it where the marigolds had been; we'll see if it takes, keeping my fingers crossed.  Even though my dad was a farmer and my grandfather was a florist, I always joke that the gardening gene did not pass down to me!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
