Paper Players 153
Happy Sunday, everyone! Time for a cool Paper Players challenge:
Since we are in the middle of a heat wave, I thought a snowy, ice-skating Christmas card would be appropriate:
You know how when you stamp and stamp and things just don’t “gel” for you? That’s sort of how I felt trying to make this card, and I make Christmas cards all year long! Anyway, I saw it through, so it is what it is! I used a couple of retired stamp sets (Winter Post and The Snowflake Spot) as well as a couple current ones (Everything Eleanor and Petite Pairs). I used one of the Apothecary Accents diecut to make my Soft Sky panel and added some new Soft Sky seam binding. The snowflakes are embossed in silver on a piece of retired Festival of Prints DP. I stamped my image in Midnight Muse and added some color with a blender pen:
And of course, Silver Glimmer Paper makes a nice mat! And here’s the inside:
This is also for the Festive Friday trigger challenge #12:
Snow and ice keep you cool, so that’s my trigger—keeping cool!
I hope that you can cool off by making a Christmas card for our challenge this week! Can’t wait to see what you create! And be sure to check out what the Paper Players Design Team has created as well!
Here’s the way Cassidy keeps cool! We set up a kiddie pool, and she LOVES it:
I’ll have more pix to share later on!

Holiday Silhouette
Just squeaking in with a quick post for my weekly Christmas card! We made this card last night at my Christmas in July stamp camp and everyone really liked it!
Dasher is stamped in Baja Breeze on textured Very Vanilla and then embossed with the Oval Designer Frame. The card base is River Rock and I used some retired SU Christmas paper. The Two Tags diecut is wheeled with the Music Notes wheel, too…what a pretty background it makes! Enjoy!

Paper Players 60
Happy Sunday everyone! It’s Paper Players time and this week I am the hostess! With Lesley’s help, I made my first sketch! I hope you’ll play with us this week! Here’s the sketch:
And here’s my card:
I took the opportunity to make another Christmas card for my stash using some new stuff—Well Worn designer paper—as well as some old stuff—the reindeer from Winter Post. Although it is difficult to see, my little reindeer are heat embossed:
I don’t have Cherry Cobbler embossing powder, but I do have clear embossing powder, so I inked my stamp in Versamark, then Cherry Cobbler ink, then stamped it on River Rock cardstock. I sprinkled the clear EP on top, heated it up and voila—Cherry Cobbler embossing! You can use this technique with any color ink—just be sure to clean your stamp between each stamping!!!! I used the Music Notes wheel for my background on the Very Vanilla panel as well as part of the Well Worn panel, and added some of that sweet new quilted ribbon that will be available in the Holiday Mini:
The inside also uses a new set that will be available in the mini, Sounding Joy:
Thanks for visiting, and please do stop by the Paper Players blog to play long using my sketch this week!

PPA90 & CR84FN24 Christmas
Quick post as I have a busy day! In trying to keep up with my weekly Christmas card, the Pals Paper Arts sketch was a needed boost:
I also used the colors from CR84FN24:
After that, it all went downhill! I just couldn’t get the thought in my head to translate to my card. It is what it is:
Between the baby not cooperating and my glitter, glue & Versamark not cooperating, I finally just hung it up! I think I have too many other things going on today to concentrate! Before I go though, I thought I’d share some totally opposite-seasoned photos I took yesterday at Longwood Gardens. It was almost 80 degrees, so it was just too good a day to stay inside:
Enjoy your day!
