Merry Monday 132

DSCF4188

Happy Monday, peeps!  I made a difficult decision a few weeks ago to step down from two of my design team commitments…Merry Monday as well as the ColourQ.  So  this week will be my last week participating as a designer for both of those teams!  Lesley has been a great friend to me, from way, way back, asking me to participate on the Paper Players and then the Merry Monday…..and although I won’t be on the team, you can be sure I’ll still be playing along!

You may recognize this card, because I posted it on my birthday – but all the other team members posted a birthday card for me!  Just another way that proves Lesley is the sweetest thing!!!  And how ironic that Lesley chose to have this challenge on my last week!  If I had really been on the ball, I would have made another card, but I love this one so much, I am going to show it again:

I embossed a piece of Crumb Cake with a Darice EF called Snowflake Swirl , then sponged it with white craft ink and added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  I stamped the skaters on vellum in Chocolate Chip ink, then added an Apothecary Accents frame, stamped with snowflakes.

My final addition was a little bit of Crochet Trim lace, with some tags stamped with Christmas words:

Now, this time, for real, you’ll be able to see the beauties that the design team came up with at the Merry Monday blog!  And a big thank you to Lesley, the design team, and all my faithful readers and commenters!!!  And if you want to see all the details on the card, you can read the original post here.

I spent the weekend at my Paper Players teammate Sandy’s home!  What a lovely hostess she was!  Here she is with Justin Krieger, in her fabulously-organized craft room:

Merry Monday 119

DSCF4188
Happy Monday, peeps!  It’s good to be back stamping some Christmas creations!  Lesley’s challenge today is a great one….check this out:

All those elements together make me think VINTAGE, so I pulled out Winter Post and a beautiful Darice EF to make my card this week:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Merry Monday 119 Winter Post Embossed Snowflake Vintage Christmas Card

I started with a Very Vanilla card base, then embossed a piece of Crumb Cake with the snowflake EF.  I daubered white craft ink on the raised portions of the embossed piece and then adhered it to the card.  I stamped the skaters on a piece of vellum in Chocolate Chip, then cut it out with a Labels die.  I then cut a CC frame using the Labels die as well, and stamped some snowflakes around the edge, sponging for a vintage look.  The whole shebang was then adhered to the card…can you see the embossed snowflakes through the vellum?  I love that look!

I added a piece of the new SU Venetian Crochet Trim with a few little banners:

and then used the cutout from the frame for my inside sentiment:

My last step was to glitter up some of the snowflakes on the front…..a very frosty finish to my card!  And since the Catered Crop’s challenge this week is to use vellum, I’m entering this card there as well!
The DT has come up with some gorgeous samples, as usual…I hope you’ll stop by the Merry Monday blog to see them all and share yours with us as well!

Paper Players 153

DSCF6257

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Time for a cool Paper Players challenge:

Since we are in the middle of a heat wave, I thought a snowy, ice-skating Christmas card would be appropriate:

DSCF6255

You know how when you stamp and stamp and things just don’t “gel” for you?  That’s sort of how I felt trying to make this card, and I make Christmas cards all year long!  Anyway, I saw it through, so it is what it is!  I used a couple of retired stamp sets (Winter Post and The Snowflake Spot) as well as a couple current ones (Everything Eleanor and Petite Pairs).  I used one of the Apothecary Accents diecut to make my Soft Sky panel and added some new Soft Sky seam binding.  The snowflakes are embossed in silver on a piece of retired Festival of Prints DP.  I stamped my image in Midnight Muse and added some color with a blender pen:

And of course, Silver Glimmer Paper makes a nice mat!  And here’s the inside:

This is also for the Festive Friday trigger challenge #12:

Snow and ice keep you cool, so that’s my trigger—keeping cool!

I hope that you can cool off by making a Christmas card for our challenge this week!  Can’t wait to see what you create!  And be sure to check out what the Paper Players Design Team has created as well!

Here’s the way Cassidy keeps cool!  We set up a kiddie pool,  and she LOVES it:

I’ll have more pix to share later on!

Holiday Silhouette

DSCF5639 Just squeaking in with a quick post for my weekly Christmas card!  We made this card last night at my Christmas in July stamp camp and everyone really liked it!

DSCF5640

Dasher is stamped in Baja Breeze on textured Very Vanilla and then embossed with the Oval Designer Frame.   The card base is River Rock and I used some retired SU Christmas paper.  The Two Tags diecut is wheeled with the Music Notes wheel, too…what a pretty background it makes!  Enjoy!

Paper Players 60

PP60 banner

Happy Sunday everyone!  It’s Paper Players time and this week I am the hostess!  With Lesley’s help, I made my first sketch!  I hope you’ll play with us this week!  Here’s the sketch:

And here’s my card:

I took the opportunity to make another Christmas card for my stash using some new stuff—Well Worn designer paper—as well as some old stuff—the reindeer from Winter Post.  Although it is difficult to see, my little reindeer are heat embossed:

pp60 closeup

I don’t have Cherry Cobbler embossing powder, but I do have clear embossing powder, so I inked my stamp in Versamark, then Cherry Cobbler ink, then stamped it on River Rock cardstock.  I sprinkled the clear EP on top, heated it up and voila—Cherry Cobbler embossing!  You can use this technique with any color ink—just be sure to clean your stamp between each stamping!!!!  I used the Music Notes wheel for my background on the Very Vanilla panel as well as part of the Well Worn panel, and added some of that sweet new quilted ribbon that will be available in the Holiday Mini:

The inside also uses a new set that will be available in the mini, Sounding Joy:

Thanks for visiting, and please do stop by the Paper Players blog to play long using my sketch this week!

PPA90 & CR84FN24 Christmas

DSCF0694

Quick post as I have a busy day!  In trying to keep up with my weekly Christmas card, the Pals Paper Arts sketch was a needed boost:

PPA90

I also used the colors from CR84FN24:

After that, it all went downhill!  I just couldn’t get the thought in my head to translate to my card.  It is what it is:

PPA90

Between the baby not cooperating and my glitter, glue & Versamark not cooperating, I finally just hung it up!  I think I have too many other things going on today to concentrate!  Before I go though, I thought I’d share some totally opposite-seasoned photos I took yesterday at Longwood Gardens.  It was almost 80 degrees, so it was just too good a day to stay inside:141_5133
