Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a great weekend….we had so much fun sledding on Saturday with Cassidy!  The temps were reasonable, the snow was plenty deep to make a great run and soon it was so slippery, we ran right into the swamp at the end of the hill!  I’ll share pictures during the week!

I have a quick card for you today; this is for the As You See It challenge:

AYSIChallenge077

Oh my goodness, PURPLE and speed stamping!  Yikes!  My friend Jen had a beautiful card (all her cards are beautiful, just sayin’) and I just felt like I had to play along!  The young man up the road uses his 4-wheeler to “plow” our driveway this year, so I made him a loaf of bread and wanted a little card to send with it.  I do not do much with purple, but I remembered that I had a bunch of DSP left from the In Color Concord Crush, so I relied on one of my favorite quick layouts and the SAB set Simply Wonderful:

I used the Postage Stamp punch to punch out the squares and a retired small star punch to punch a star from Wisteria Wonder, and embellished it with a brad.  I glued down the squares,  stamped my sentiment and it was done!  I didn’t time myself but I know it was less than 10 minutes!!!

Hi peeps!  Hope you had a good weekend….I had many plans of leisurely stamping the weekend away, but somehow my other chores got in my way!  Taxes, laundry, paying bills…..you know how it is!  I did have some nice news, that one of my Easter cards from last year made it into the “Hobby Craft Easter Cards for Expert Crafters” issue!  How exciting!  You can see it HERE.  It’s the one shaped like an Easter egg!  Anyway, I played with  sketch challenge this week from Sunday Stamps:

and made this really simple card using the SAB sets You Brighten My Day and Simply Wonderful:

We have a friend who just bought a house, so once I get her new address, this will be going to her!  It was fun to let the Lullaby DSP do most of the work!  I simply stamped the house in Soft Suede and colored it lightly with my reinkers and an aquapainter.  I took the liberty of adding the banner so I would have a place for my sentiment!  The card base is the In Color of Hello Honey, which I haven’t used much this year, so it was fun to play with that a bit!

Thanks for stopping in today!

Paper Players 229 x Two

DSCF7588
Happy Sunday, peeps!  Hope you’re having a great weekend…it’s a wee bit soggy here in SE PA, and we’re bracing for some more snowy precip…hey, it IS winter, right?  More crafting time!   Anyway, it’s Paper Players day and Jaydee has an awesome sketch for us this week.  I just love this sketch, it’s very similar to my favorite go-to sketch, only it’s in landscape, which is just as wonderful!   Check it out:

One of the free SAB items this year is a little packet of Project Life Mini Cards; since I am a terrible scrapper, I thought perhaps I could use some of them, along with some other SAB products, to make a card!  So here we go:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 229 Simply Wonderful

Isn’t this a happy card?  I cut down one of the larger cards for my upper panel, and used the Heart Framelits to cut down the floral one, then added a button from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack.  I cut a mat free-hand in Lost Lagoon and popped it up over some Tangelo Twist ribbon, and stamped the sentiment from Simply Wonderful in TT ink:

DSCF7591

It’s all atop a Soft Sky card base, and I think it’s quite cheerful!  And I loved the sketch so much, I had to do another!  I haven’t done a vintage-style card for a while, and I needed a thank you card for a sweet customer, and I know she likes vintage stuff, and I hope she likes the card as well!

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 229 Postage Due Stampin UP

I used a Very Vanilla card base this time, with a mat of Real Red and Typeset DSP, stamping the images from Postage Due in Real Red and Crumb Cake, and sponging everything with Crumb Cake.  I added a couple of wee banners, then, using the Flower Fair Framelits,  I diecut some leaves from a piece of burlap ribbon, and a flower from our canvas, embellished with a Candy Dot center:

I also embossed the top half with the Arrows EF (thanks, Sandy!) and added a little sentiment from Something To Say, which I diecut with the File Tab Edgelits…I think it gives a cool “finished” look, don’t you think:

This took a wee bit more time to complete, but I like the shabby look of this one too!  So I hope that these will inspire you to create something with Jaydee’s sketch this week!  I must say, the DT has created some beauties with it….be sure to check them all out:
I have been doing a few other handicrafts lately, and Cassidy has suddenly realized that her mom and I could possibly create clothes for her dolls!  Changing her doll’s clothing is an activity that absorbs a LOT of her time, but she doesn’t realize that knitting a doll sweater would take quite a bit of effort for a beginning knitter (although of course, I am trying to make one for her!!!)!  However, through the generosity of kind people and the internet, I was able to find a free sewing pattern to make “Claire” a coat.  Now I have LOTS of fabric from all my sewing projects, but this Debbie Mumm pattern is what Miss Cassidy chose and insisted on!!!  And I have to tell you, she was thrilled with it!  Here it is, being modeled by her doll (it’s similar to an American Girl doll):

DSCF7600
And yes, it has pumpkins, apples, sunflowers and scarecrows on it…and that’s what she wanted.  AND the design was only going one way, so I had to make sure I didn’t get a sleeve upside down, LOL!  AND the pattern was for a dress with the opening in the back, so I had to alter it so it opened in the front:

But it was fun to make…even though I don’t think I ever made anything with seams so small, LOL!  So far, we only have a snap closure, but I want to add some wee buttons to make it look more like a coat!  I just need to find some tiny enough!  Thanks for indulging me!

Paper Players 227

DSCF7261

Hello everyone!  I am excited about today…not only do we have a wonderful color combination from Ann, but I will be spending the day with my lovely club ladies!  So fun!  But let’s get to the Paper Players challenge first!  Here’s the color challenge:

Oh my, these colors are SO pretty together!  The gallery is full of beautiful projects using new stamp sets, so I had to be different and use a set that hasn’t seen much ink lately, Six-Sided Sampler.  I DID add a little bit of new in there….the little flower from Simply Wonderful made a nice addition to my background:

I just stamped and punched my images, stamped the flowers, then added a few embellishments:  a flower and heart from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, and some In Color sequins and ribbon.  And then I got very brave and used my punch to punch out a couple portions of the card…..I was afraid I would ruin it, but I think it gives a little bit of interest.  Here’s the bottom (I also did the top corner):

A little unexpected surprise, right?!

So what will you create with these colors?  There are so many possibilities with these lovely soft shades!  Be sure to share you creation at the Paper Players, and be sure to check out the designers’ creations as well:

Cassidy was uncooperative this week as far as picture-taking, so instead,  I thought I would share some of the things I made during Christmas vacation!

Cassidy’s annual Christmas ornament, made from felt and sequins:

A little bunny, pattern found here:

A little owl, pattern found here (you can tell I have a big skein of this turquoise yarn, LOL!):

And some boring dishcloths and coaster, but John is actually excited about the dishcloth…it has some heft to it and he likes that!  The dishcloth pattern is here and the coaster pattern is here!

I am still a newbie when it comes to knitting, but Dana and I have both gotten the bug, so we are practicing a lot!  She is loom knitting, and has made some amazing things too!  Thanks for indulging me!

DSCF7203

Happy Friday, peeps!  I am gearing up for my first stamp club of the year as well as my hostess appreciation party this weekend!  Love to see my stamping girls!  I have two quick cards to share with you today!  The first is for the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday sketch:

and I used the new Adventure Awaits polymer set.  The images in this set are GINORMOUS!  I guess they are geared for scrapping, but having sailors in the family made me get the set, just for this sentiment alone:

It paired beautifully with the Maritime DSP, which I mounted on a Coastal Cabana card.  I stamped the image twice, once in Night of Navy, then again in Real Red, and cut out the center sentiment:

DSCF7204

I added some Night of Navy seam binding and a sailor’s knot with the white Baker’s Twine from the mini catalog as well!  If you’d like a tutorial, my friend Bar has one on her blog HERE.

My other simple card is for the Technostamper sketch for this week:
The SAB Simply Wonderful has a beautiful “congrats” sentiment and I thought it would look nice embossed in gold, with our Gold Foil and Gold Vellum papers:

Here’s a closer peek of the gold embossing:

DSCF7206

It was stamped with Gold Encore ink, then embossed with Gold Glory embossing powder!  Such a simple, but elegant look!  Thanks for visiting today!

Earlier this week, before it snowed, Cassidy insisted on taking her dolls for a walk outside:

The wind and the cold finally got the best of her….15 minutes and we were back inside!

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I am playing with some more of my new goodies; this is a sneak peek of a SAB set called Simply Wonderful, along with the Stacked with Love DSP and Chalkboard Specialty paper:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Simply Wonderful Stampin Up

I stamped the sentiment with White Craft ink on the Chalkboard paper; I added some Blushing Bride twine, and three little felt flowers cut with the Flower Fair die, embellished with some Paper Pumpkin sequins!  Super cute and simple!  I used the As You See It sketch:

1484590_10154947247305085_8115238489333985750_n

and the Felt & Sequins challenge from CAS-ual Fridays:

I did find that you need to heat-set the white craft ink, or you really get a “chalky” effect, LOL:

And Crystal Effects works great to adhere the sequins:

Thanks for visiting today!  Be sure to come back tomorrow when we resume the Paper Players challenge!

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Anyone else struggling to get back into the stamping mode?  I sure am!  I need a bunch of thank you cards, and I had a few scraps sitting on my desk, so I made ONE simple card….only several more to go, LOL!  One of the “scraps” was a butterfly using the new Butterflies thinlit die; the other was a piece of Confetti Celebration from the last card I made (my desk is so messy!), so I combined them with a new SAB set, Simply Wonderful:

Honestly, this is so simple I am almost embarrassed to post it, but my customers love simple, so this is for them!  I added a jumbo pearl for interest…that’s it!  And this qualifies for the ShowCASe Your Style challenge this week, which is to use a diecut!

Dana’s been on vacation, so I haven’t had Cassidy this week, but I did snag this photo on Christmas eve of her wearing Grampy’s hat; silly girl!

DSCF6971

And on Christmas day, at my sister’s, my niece’s Great Dane Grover decided to “sit” on Dana’s lap!!!  He thinks he is little, LOL!

Enjoy your day!
