FMS608 FaBOOlous Candy Corn

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  These fall allergies are kicking my butt! I did manage to scrape some time together today to create a fun little card using the FMS sketch.  At first, I had no idea what to do with it, but then a light bulb went on! First, the sketch:

I went pretty literal with it...adding a couple little bits and bobs:

Do you like candy corn?  I feel the same way about candy corn as I do about marshmallows....one or two a year, and I'm good to go!  I don't have any candy corn dies, but I do have Stitched Triangle dies, so I went to work building my candy corn array here, "hanging" them on a twine and adding a retired Hostess sentiment and a little black cat!

They all went on a Crumb Cake panel and then on a Basic White base; here's the inside, with a spooky sentiment and a couple more black cats:

Another to add to my stash!  Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

HSS399 Trick or Treat

Hi there stampers!  I had a lot of fun creating this Halloween card once I got past the unique color palette from Hand Stamped Sentiments!  Check it out:

I used lots of old goodies on this card, but of course, Starry Sky is new!  So here we go:

My main images are from a retired SU set called Howl-o-ween Treat, and they were cut with their matching Boo to You dies!  I diecut a piece of Pool Party DSP with the Basic Borders dies and stamped some spooky spiderwebs and stars on a Starry Sky card base before adhering it.

The sentiment, from the same set, was placed in the Stamparatus, stamped with Starry Sky ink, then without moving the stamp, I cleaned it very well and inked it up again with Versamark ink.  Then I embossed it with clear embossing powder:

I added some Starry Sky glimmer paper stars, and on the inside, repeated the colors:

Lots of fun!  I am glad HSS pushed me out of my comfort zone with these colors!  I am going to enter this at Global Design Project as well, as their challenge this week is "Spooky"!

Thanks for popping in today...enjoy it and be blessed!

PP511 Fall Owl

Hi stampers!  It's Sunday and Claire is our Paper Players hostess with this fun challenge:

Aren't those critters cute?  That snowy owl reminded me that I had gotten some book plates at a yard sale a long time ago:

Isn't that a great graphic?  I thought they would make great Halloween cards, but obviously I didn't want to have that blank portion on my card, so this is the way I "fixed" it:

I started with a Very Vanilla cardbase and added an Old Olive mat that was stamped with some spooky eyes and embossed with a Subtle embossing folder.  I added a sentiment in Soft Suede, sponged with Sahara Sand, to cover up the blank for the name:

I added some gold glimmer stars and a spooky moon punched with a circle punch:

And a final star on the inside:

This was actually my second card; here's the first card I made, on a Soft Suede base embossed with the Woodland EF and stamped sentiment in Early Espresso:

Now....what little fall creature will inspire you to create something?  Check out what the Design Team used for their cards this week at the Paper Players blog and be sure to share yours with us too! Thanks for popping in today-- enjoy your day and be blessed!

Here's a little disappearing creature!  Now you see her:

And now you don't!

SIP117 Watercolored Jack

Hi peeps!  Tuesday brings us another Stamp Ink Paper challenge, and we've got a watercolor one for you today!

No automatic alt text available.

My friend Debbie bought this cute little Jack-o-Lantern image for me last summer and I just had to ink him up with some Stazon ink and color him in with some ink and reinkers:

I used the sketch from Fab Friday and the colors from Just Us Girls:

I used Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Cobbler to color him in, then added a sentiment from Newton's Nook.  The DSP is Painted Autumn, cardstock is Thick Very Vanilla!  Since my weeks have been so busy, it seems CAS is the only thing I can do these days!  Hopefully I'll get to play with some of my new goodies soon!

I hope you'll stop by the Stamp Ink Paper blog and see what the other designers watercolored...then be sure to share your creation with us too!

We went to Longwood Garden's Fireworks and Fountains show Saturday night; the musical theme was Over the Rainbow.  I was blown away by ALL of it!  You can see a video of the fountains here (scroll down to see the video portion) but to see a half hour of amazing fireworks in addition to the fountains was almost too much...we didn't know where to look first!  We had to go early and set up chairs on the lawn, but then we got to stroll the gardens and go to Cassidy's favorite part, the children's gardens!!!

There are little water jets that are timed just right to spit out water up and down this little incline...the kids love to "chase" them!

And little hidey-holes:

and lots of funny sculptures spitting water!!!

Finally, it was time for the fireworks and fountains!  I didn't take any photos, but Dana took a few...it's really hard to capture how amazing they were!  And amazingly, with about 2000 people, we got out and on our shuttle buses very quickly!  They really know how to move us!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
