Jingle Belles Pink Christmas

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  The Jingle Belles have a pink Christmas card challenge in honor of Breast Cancer Month! What a nice gesture--they're donating money for each card submitted! I am throwing my hat in the ring with this one:

I used Waffle Flower's Postage Stamp dies and Christmas stencils in shades of Sweet Sugar Plum, Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Bubble Bath and Crumb Cake to create my card:

I used the Postage Collage stamp and a little Christmas stamp from Sweet & Sassy to add my little "stamp" icons in Versafine Black and Crumb Cake.  The inside of the Sweet Sugar Plum card was stamped with a goodie-but-oldie stamp from Amy R's Handy Christmas Greetings:

I still need some practice with my stenciling, but I'll keep trying!

John took my nephew and his sons Jameson and Sawyer fishing on Saturday on John's new (to him) boat:

They only caught one catfish, which they threw back, and two eels...yuck!  That was quite the experience, John said!  But they had fun and it was a beautiful day on the river!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.” So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.  Genesis 1:20-21

Majestic Deer

Hi stampers! Another quick post today...I am still making Christmas cards, I just can't seem to stop!  This one uses another pattern from the same DSP I used yesterday....there are so many pretty plaids and prints there, they just draw me in:

The TGIF challenge has a lovely basic sketch:

and recently while shopping at my local Amish stamping store, this set of deer dies just flew into my basket! I diecut this handsome guy in Basic Black cardstock and adhered him to a panel stamped with a sentiment from an old Waltzingmouse set called Compliments of the Season:

I love how he mimics the plaid deer on the DSP!  I added a few metallic pearls in each corner of the panel, mounted it on a Smoky Slate card, then stamped a pretty sentiment on the inside:

Thanks for popping in today!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for our last Paper Players challenge of 2020!

Cassidy recently got a 3D pen and had fun making some ornaments with Mommy's help:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

RRCB113 Anything Goes Vintage Christmas

Happy Tuesday!  It's Retro Rubber time, where we give our older stamps some love!  Here's an easy one for you...Anything Goes!

Image may contain: text

I used several older stamps for my vintage Christmas card today...it uses the FMS sketch from last week, which is expired, but I loved it so much I used it again anyway!  So here we go:

I was in the mood for some vintage images, so I pulled out a couple of vintage-style stamps from my stash:  Christmas Background (Stampendous, not sure of date but I've had it a couple of years), and Paisley (2006).  I stamped the collage in Merry Merlot of some scrapbook paper in a warm vanilla hue, and sponged the edges with some Soft Suede ink.  To give a wee bit of added interest, I stamped a fir tree from Flourishes' Forest of Trees set (2012) directly over the collage in Sahara Sand; it's a little hard to see, but I like the subtle effect.

It was then mounted on a Merry Merlot card base that was stamped with the Paisley background stamp, also in Merry Merlot ink.  I stamped some Christmas words from Sweet and Sassy (2009) in White Craft ink and heat set them with white embossing powder, then diecut them with a banner die and layered them on the left side:

Finally, I stamped a sentiment and another tree on the inside:

The name of the sentiment set is Handy Christmas Greetings, from Amy R, and I know I've had it for several years, but I can't find a date....I'll just say it's definitely older than a year!  And since this is definitely vintage, not just the stamps but the images too, I am entering this is the Christmas Card Throwdown challenge for June, where they are looking for shabby/vintage Christmas cards!

Hope you'll play along with our Anything Goes challenge!  Just be sure to use stamps over a year old, and be sure to tell us how old they are!  Can't wait to see your creation in the gallery!

SO...you might remember that Cassidy's dad rescued a little dog that had been abandoned at a truck stop; they named her Ginger.  Since Charlie is out on the road most of the time, his mom usually takes care of the family's dogs, and it's getting a little too much for her, so Cassidy asked Dana if they could "adopt" Ginger and bring her home to be Eden's playmate.  On weekends that Cass goes to her Daddy's, Ginger will go too!

We'll let you know how it all works out!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

MojoMonday 485 and Merry Monday 236

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  A couple of Christmas cards today...while I had my supplies out, I decided to make two of them!  The first one uses the Mojo Monday sketch:

and some Carta Bella papers with an image from Cornish Heritage Farms called Stocking Elves:

I just love these wee little ones creeping down the steps!  I added some twine, glimmer stars and a sentiment from Amy R Stamps:

Technically, I could have used the above card for the Merry Monday challenge, which is "stockings":

but I wanted to use this new die from Cottage Cutz that I got after Christmas!  Isn't it cute?

Papers are also from Carta Bella; sentiment is from Clearly Besotted!  Thanks for popping in today!

We are having Cassidy's room repainted, which means stripping off the wallpaper first, so we cleared everything out of her room but the furniture.  She also had a wee bit of a cold yesterday, so she stayed home; it got very quiet and when I went to peek in to see what she was doing, this is what I found:

I can only imagine that she was really tired if she fell asleep on the floor!  Have a blessed day!

Paper Players 322 Clean and Simple Christmas

Happy Sunday, all!  We have had a wonderful week weather-wise here in SE PA....but today, I believe winter will make a little visit!  It was so nice yesterday....cool, crisp and clear!  I can't remember  a November quite like this!  Anyway, it's Claire's turn to host the Paper Players and she has a Clean and Simple Christmas challenge!  I can always use one of them!

Because my image was on the small side, I chose to do a notecard!  Here we go:

My friend Martha gave me this little winter scene from Altenew; I actually have a larger one as well, from Artistic Outpost.  But I liked the small scale of this one; I stamped it in Dapper Denim on heavy white cardsotck, along with a sentiment from Amy R Stamps (Handy Christmas Greetings), then added some snowy glitter and a few random snowflakes:

The only other thing I did was to round the corner, just to give it a little interest!  Clean, simple, one layer, one color....can't get much easier than that!  Isn't that what stamping is all about?  I love embellishments and layers, but sometimes, just need stamps, ink and paper!

I hope you'll play along with us this week as you start your holiday stamping....or maybe you're already finished!  But we can always add one more to our stash, right?  Check out what the others on the DT did as well:
Some serious crayon time!

Enjoy your day!

Paper Players 319 Tic Tac Toe

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It's my turn to host the Paper Players and this week, it's a Tic-Tac-Toe!  Wheee!  So many options!  Here's the grid:

For my card, I chose the left column:  red, Santa, and diecut, but it also fulfills the top row across, which is red, glitter and snowflakes!  I chose to make a little scene:

I used the Hearth & Home die along with Lawn Fawn's Stitched Hillsides to create my scene.  My sentiment is from Cosmo Cricket; I sponged the "siding" on the Crumb Cake card, added a red window frame, complete with a gingham curtain, snow in the corners and heaps on snow at the top and bottom:

And ho, ho, ho, who is that we see inside?

Jolly Saint Nick himself (Katy Sue's Silhouette Santas), placing a gift under a Lovely as a Tree Christmas tree!  They're stamped on Always Artichoke, which for some reason, is difficult for me to photograph!  The sentiment is from Amy R Stamps' Handy Christmas Greetings.  I added a few stamped snowflakes on the outside; the "snow" glitter is from Martha Stewart!

Now, I hope you'll find some inspiration in my tac-tac-toe board and play along with us!  Check out the amazing samples from the DT:

Cassidy got another Halloween card in the mail; this one was from my very first Stampin' Up! customer, Maryanne!  She loves funny cards, especially interactive ones, and this one did not disappoint!  It featured a little scene with three spooky characters that move along the bottom of the card when you pull the ribbon:

She loved the vampire-looking dude the best!

And check out the cool stuff she put on the spiderweb inside!  Neat!

Hope you have a wonderful day full of blessings!

No Peeking!

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I feel like I am melting here in SE PA....so I thought I would make a Christmas card for the Jingle Belles challenge of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (red and a reindeer), as well as the challenging sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch:

I dusted off my SU Labels thinlits and some retired Christmas DSP to create the side panel, and added a wee little strip of red glimmer paper.  This cute little set from Clearly Besotted (In Print) was perfect for my reindeer; they were stamped in Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and have a red glimmer nose that's popped up!

The sentiment is from Amy R Stamps (Handy Christmas Greetings).  And just to show you that I thought I was such a smarty-pants, and I didn't need to use my Misti on the inside....my third little reindeer's antlers are rudely poking into my sentiment (sigh).  Well, whoever receives this card will just have to cut him a little slack, LOL!

Cassidy will be home soon, so you won't have to look at my butterfly pictures too much longer!  Here's a beautiful Monarch:

and this Swallowtail was fluttering so quickly, I couldn't get a still shot, but I loved how this looked anyway:

Thanks for popping in today and have a blessed day!
