PCC499 Showered With Love

Happy Thursday, peeps! I needed a bridal shower card for this weekend, and the bride loves anything purple! The upcoming SAB paper called Dainty Flowers had some beautiful florals along with a cute little Fresh Freesia polka dot, so I combined them with the sketch from Paper Craft Crew:

I also used some old products to mix with the new!  Here we go:

I have virtually nothing that works for a bridal shower other than hearts, so I used the retired Stitched Be Mine dies to make a layered heart with the DSP and some Rich Razzleberry cardstock.  I used the Stitched Rectangle dies for the cardstock layers, and another piece of the DSP for the horizontal banners.  It looked a little plain, so I adhered some loops of rose-colored metallic thread under the heart:

A little sentiment from the retired Under My Umbrella provided the sentiment:

Hope she likes it!

My friend took these pictures of our church on Christmas Eve:

Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS339 Showered with Love

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I have a bridal shower to go to today, and I am sharing the card that I made for my niece, the future bride!  It uses the pretty FMS sketch from Jen B for this week:

The invitation featured a lovely pink and blue floral, and I found these sweet papers in my stash, so I thought she would like this:

These French-inspired papers from Julie Nutting for Photoplay are adorable!  They work so well with the My Favorite Things Homespun Gingham!

I just won this pretty little "love" die from Recollections, so I used it with some Pink Pirouette cardstock and added two little flowers from Jar of Love, decorated with a little butterfly from the DSP to pop on top:

The final addition was a little stitched scallop to finish off the left edge!  Love it!  Hope you have a great weekend!

Another snapping turtle traversed our yard, back to the creek that runs behind our house!  It may have been the same one we saw last week, after she laid her eggs; I am not a turtle whisperer, so I won't be getting too close!!  The grass was so long and wet, you can see her trail, coming up from the swamp!

Here's how close she was to our house....she did veer off to the right to continue on through the yard!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CASEing the Shower Invite with FF131

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I have two sweet little cards to share today; they use the sweet little sketch from Fab Friday:

I needed a bridal shower card for my soon-to-be-niece and I loved the invitation that came for it; it had beautiful roses in deep burgundy and pink shades.  (You can see the top of it under my card).  So I pulled out my Altenew Painted Flowers and a few rosy colors of ink and went to work:

Both the background DSP as well as the tag were from CTMH's Chelsea Gardens; I backed the banner in Smoky Slate just to bring it out a little.  I originally stamped three large flowers in dark, medium and light shades of pink, but ended up not using the large pink one and created a smaller pink one.  I stamped some florals directly to the DSP, the added some greenery in Pear Pizzazz and Always Artichoke and finally added a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I happened to have a little scrap of already-dyed green shabby seam binding, so I added that to the top of the banner.  It's hard to see, but there is also silver thread looped under the flowers.

The inside is a combination of two sentiments stamped in Berry Burst and Smoky Slate; the "blessed" is from Technique Tuesday and the "wishing" is from Altenew as well.  I love that layered look!

Since I already had the Altenew pink rose and greenery cut, I went ahead and created another card with the same sketch, using a scrap of Pear Pizzazz DSP and some retired baker's twine, all attached to a Blushing Bride card.  The sentiment and greenery are from a recent Paper Pumpkin kit:

For Your Shower with Altenew

Happy Thursday, peeps!  My SIL wanted a bridal shower card, so I got up my courage to use my Altenew Painted Flowers stamps---for some reason, they intimidate me a little.  But I was happy with how this turned out....still experimenting with the placement, but I do like the colors!

This is a tall card, 7 x 3 1/2", so I did make a custom envelope which I forgot to photograph!  After stamping the flowers in Basic Black, Flirty Flamingo, Calypso Coral and Mint Macaron,  I filled in the smaller blooms with a white gel pen.  I added a black stitched scallop die trim, black gingham and a piece of burlap that was cut with a large scallop die:

And finally, a little banner with a SU sentiment at the bottom:

I really like the country feel to this!

So Cassidy is having a good time camping, but apparently she has to work to earn her keep!  Her daddy sent Dana this photograph, and it took me a few minutes to realize what exactly was going on...I thought she had some fur or feathers at her feet until I got a good look at her Pop Pop's head...she is giving him a hair cut!!!  You can just see the trimmer in her hand on the side of his head! And apparently she did Daddy's before she did his.  I particularly like the toes....so funny!  And remember, she's not even seven yet.  Not many people would let their six-year-old cut their hair, LOL!

I hope this give you as much of a chuckle as it did me!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CYCI72

Happy Monday, everyone!  It's hot, sticky, steamy and wet today, but I am happy for the rain we got last night.  Now my yard needs to be mowed - AGAIN - but I have been praying for all those Texans who got waaay too much.  Yikes!  Speaking of rain, I have an "umbrella" card...well, a shower card, for you today.  I had another customer who needed a bridal shower card, so I used the sketch from Can You Case It this week:

CYCI#72
It's really a simple card; used some papers from MME's Lost & Found Heirloom line; a little umbrella from C9's Baby set, which was stamped and embossed with Strawberry Slush, Versamark and clear EP, then I added some sequins, pearls and a little sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes:

And I pulled out the retired Fabulous Phrases for the inside sentiment:

Thanks for visiting today!
A little river time with a friend over the weekend!

FMS188

Happy Thursday, everyone!  I had an order for a bridal shower card, so I put the Freshly Made Sketches sketch for this week to use:
I scanned Pinterest for some ideas since my time was limited, and I fell in love with this card, so I CASEd it, tweaking it just a bit and using the sketch:

I added some pearls, Soft Sky seaming binding and baker’s twine, and a wee bit of a lace flower for the gown’s embellishments:

I used Teeny Tiny Wishes for the sentiment on the front, and a retired set called Heard from the Heart for the inside (along with some Itty Bitties butterflies)!!

Thanks for visiting today!

A few more Dutch Wonderland shots!

Enjoy your day!

KJ170–Just For Her

DSCF2643-001

Good morning and happy Thursday to everyone!  The Kraft Journal has a Just For Her challenge this week; you are required to make a card for “her” and it doesn’t have to be a Mother’s Day card!  I needed a bridal shower card for a fellow TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) gal; we had a kitchen shower for her and I knew just the stamps I wanted to use:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Kitchen Shower Card Stampin

I knew I wanted to use as many of the images from this fun little Vintage Kitchen set from TPC, and I couldn’t figure out what sketch to use, so I just stamped them, cut them out and popped them up on a piece of DP on which I stamped a few country/kitcheny/vintagey images!  Here are a couple closer views:

I added some twine, a burlap banner and a button, mounted it on some Crumb Cake cardstock and put it on a Naturals Ivory card base.  It’s a fairly large card, so I made my own envelope with the punch board.  Sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Aren’t these cute?  I wanted to give her some recipe cards but I ran out of time….maybe later!

I bought a little tub of yard sale matchbox toys for my nephews to play with when they come to visit, and they were a hit with Cassidy:

Even to the point of giving a couple of them a car wash in the birdbath:
