CC71 Shower Card

Happy Saturday, all!  I had a quiet day yesterday, did some chores around the house and actually got to stamp a wee bit!  I am attending a bridal shower today and when I saw the photo at The Card Concept, I thought it would translate into a pretty shower card:

The photo just doesn't do this card justice, but hopefully you'll get the idea!

I stamped the "greenery" from Jar of Love with white craft ink and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder, then lightly sponged a "halo" of Mint Macaroon behind it.  I added some Papillion Potpourri butterflies, stamped in Basic Gray and colored with Flirty Flamingo and Marina Mist, then stamped and diecut my jar on some retired DSP:

I added some Flirty Flamingo ruched ribbon, white sequins. and a little sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes, and it's good to go!  I would describe my card as the "Clean and Layered" style!

Do you think Cassidy was excited to dye Easter eggs?  Silly girl!

Wayne and Grammy got in on the act too!

Be sure to come back tomorrow--I am the hostess at the Paper Players!  Have a blessed Easter!

Try Stampin’ on Tuesday 242

DSCF2460

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  It’s time for another Try Stampin’ On Tuesday challenge, and I found this sketch a real pleasure to work with:

The bonus challenge is “Boo or Eek”, but since I needed a birthday card, I went in another direction!  I had these pieces sitting on my desk from a Christmas card I demonstrated at my last workshop, and I thought I could make them work for this card as well!  Card base is Soft Sky, and the polka dotted paper is Watermelon Wonder DSP.  Check it out:

I embossed the circular panel with the Vine Street embossing folder, then I made a banner using Endless Birthday Wishes, adding a few little Soft Sky hearts, pearls and white sequins….and a butterfly from Papillion Potpourri:

and for the sentiment in the corner, again, Endless Birthday Wishes, this time stamped in Craft White and embossed with white embossing powder; more sequins, hearts and pearls!

This was for my beautiful niece Kelly, whose birthday was Saturday!  I hope she liked it!  Now, what will you create with this lovely sketch?  Share it with us at TSOT’s blog, or even share it on our Facebook page!  Can’t wait to see it!

My friend Linda wanted to know if Cassidy was still “lining things up”!!  Here she is, yesterday morning, playing with her Halloween magnets on the refrigerator:

Yep, still lining things up!  Enjoy your day!

CYCI80, SIP08 and CQC302

DSCF1192

Just a quick post today; I have a simple card using the sketch from Can You Case It:

CYCI#80
as well as the ColourQ colors:

and here we go:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings ColourQ302 Thanks

I punched squares of So Saffron, Hello Honey and Peach Parfait, then embossed them  in White embossing powder with various stamps: Cottage Greetings, Flower Patch and Paisley background stamp.  Then I colored them in a little with my aquapainter, added a butterfly from Papillion Potpourri, embossed on vellum, a candy dot and a diecut thank you from the Greetings Thinlets.

Paper Players 253

DSCF0857

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It’s time for another Paper Players challenge, and Jaydee is our hostess this week with a gorgeous color combo!  It’s so soft and pretty…what do you think?

I incorporated it with a new (to me) sketch challenge at TGIF challenges:

and my favorite set from this year’s catalog, Awesomely Artistic:

Even though it seems like there is a lot going on here, it was pretty simple to put together.  I stamped the images on my tag; I stamped and colored a butterfly from Papillion Potpourri and punched it out, adding some pearls for glam; heat embossed a sentiment from Six-Sided Sampler in silver and stamped some grunge on the Sahara Sand card base with Sahara Sand ink. I dyed some white seam binding with Smoky Slate ink and crumple-dried it in the microwave, then added a doily and some gathered Mint Macaron lace, and for the final touch, cut a couple of little banners from glassine paper and Smoky Slate cardstock, then some hearts from Brushed Silver and Shimmery white.

I would never have thought to put the neutrals of Sahara Sand and Smoky Slate together, but I love it!  I hope you love it too and will share what you create with us at the Paper Players blog!  Meanwhile, check out the other gorgeous creations from the PP team:
I promised a few more pix of Cassidy very intently drawing with her new goodies:

MTS069

DSCF9455

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I found myself needing another sympathy card this week so I pulled out some beautiful Graphic 45 Botanical Tea papers I have been hoarding, along with the Match The Sketch sketch from this week:

to create my card:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Bible Verse Sympathy Papillion Potpourri

I love how all the patterns on these papers coordinate.  I used my drop-arm cutter to cut the right-hand panel out and flipped it over to the other side, which was a vanilla with a very light mottled tone.  I stamped French Script on it very lightly in Pistachio Pudding, the over-stamped the leaves from Kinda Eclectic in the same ink.  My cutting blade is very dull, so the edges of my panel were sort of distressed, so I sponged them with Sahara Sand before fitting it back into the green panel.  I used a retired Cornish Heritage Farms Bible verse, stamped in Chocolate Chip ink on top:

I added the large butterfly from Papillion Potpourri, stamped in Chocolate Chip and colored with Pistachio ink atop a couple of circular elements, then I pulled out a stamp I haven’t used in AGES,  Waltzingmouse’s Country Labels 4 and stamped my sentiment from Petite Pairs inside:

I love this layout as well as these papers, so hopefully I will be using them both again soon!

Baby Mike (yes, I know, he’s either naked or wearing a dress….don’t try to influence a 4YO, they do what they want to do) got some play time outside recently:

CQC287 and Muse

DSCF9233

Happy Wednesday, all!  Hope your week is going well!  I needed a really fast sympathy card, and the ColourQ challenge colors were perfect:

I also found a new-to-me challenge, the Muse Card Club, and they also have a monochromatic challenge; you can see it here. Michele’s sample is just beautiful in blue, but I wanted to use the softer hue of Blush Blossom for my notecard:

I knew I could use the Basic Gray for the sentiment, but wasn’t sure how to incorporation the black, so I added a simple grosgrain ribbon and stamped the butterfly from Papillon Potpourri in black Stazon ink, colored it with my marker and popped it up:

Clean, lovely, simple!  Enjoy your day!

FMS171 and CCMC340

DSCF7741

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I have a couple cards for you today!  Both use this week’s Freshly Made Sketches sketch from Rita:

The first is a Valentine card using the stamps from January’s Paper Pumpkin along with some glimmer paper, sequins and rhinestones!

I think these sweet little heart images and sentiments are just darling!

DSCF7742DSCF7744

My next one was inspired by Jen Timko’s card shown here.  I just loved it!  I started with the colors from Create with Connie & Mary for this week:

CCMC340

and using a butterfly from Papillion Potpourri for a sympathy card:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Papillon Potpourri Sympathy Stampin Up

I also used Gorgeous Grunge to stamp some additional elements; it’s hard to see here, but the white circle is SU’s canvas, on which I stamped some images in Sahara Sand and Basic Gray:

DSCF7739

The butterfly was colored with Lost Lagoon ink and a blender pen; the seam binding is Soft Sky.  Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Player’s challenge!

I did finish the doll sweater I began last week for Cassidy’s doll Claire; it is definitely not perfect, and I am still working on figuring out what the different types of yarn are, what size needles to use to get the right gauge, etc., etc., so although the final product was a little too big, it is easy for Cassidy to get it on and off her doll and it was challenging enough for me that I actually learned a few new techniques!  So here is Cassidy showing the sweater, along with the boots that she is using for accessorizing:

And here is Claire, modeling it with a scarf already in her wardrobe!!:
