Paper Players 274

DSCF3225

Hi everyone!  Woohoo, it’s Sunday and time for another Paper Players challenge with Claire as our sweet hostess today!  Check out this cute theme challenge she has:

Oh, who doesn’t love snow…well, at least on a stamped project, right?!  And if you’re like me, your holiday schedule is beginning to get full, so I needed to make this card quickly!  I have SO many vintage digital images that feature snow, I decided to use one for my creation today!  This particular image is from Crafty Secrets’ Retro Christmas CD:

I printed out my image on Whisper White cardstock and added a stamped sentiment from an old SU set called Winter is Calling.  I liberally added an assortment of sequins in white, silver and aqua, then mounted it on mats of Soft Sky and Riding Hood Red, then on a card of white.  Aren’t these little imps cute:

Of course, I had to add some glitter to the snowball as well!  Easy little snowy card to add to my stash!  I hope you’ll find time in your busy schedule to create a snow-filled card and play along with us this week too!  Be sure to check out all the designers’ creations at the Paper Players blog for lots of fun inspiration!

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  A real quick post today, it’s errand-running day!  I’ve got a Christmas card for you, for the Merry Monday cat or dog challenge, as well as the Kraft Journal’s Anything Goes – Girlfriends challenge!

I also used the Mary Jo’s Technostamper sketch for this week:

I like cats and dogs, but surprisingly, I don’t have many stamps of either…especially with a Christmas theme!  I did remember this set, Winter is Calling, had a little puppy in it, so I pulled it out and stamped it simply in Real Red, then added some digital DSP, burlap and sequins and mounted it on a Crumb Cake card base:

The “girlfriends” challenge is sort of tongue-in-cheek;  the two girls are obviously friends, so that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it!!!  Here’s a closeup of my little pup, and you can see the glittery snow, too:

My sentiment is from Great Greetings, stamped on the banner from the Circle Card thinlet.

I have to confess that I haven’t been doing a lot of stamping lately (which I need to remedy) but I have been knitting up a storm!  I made a poncho for my niece for next fall; she just turned a year last month, so I hope she gets a lot of use from it!  I loved knitting with this wool, it was soft and easy to work with, and now I want to make a sweater of my own with it….if I dare!!!   I have to confess that Dana crocheted the flowers as well as the string tie, as I don’t know how to crochet!! So here it is:

CCC45 and CCMC323

Hi peeps!  Squeaking in another card today; I thought I missed the deadline for the sketch at Create with Connie & Mary, but I will just make it!  Here’s the sketch:

CCMC323

The designers there have created some lovely things!  I went monochromatic with my card, using an old SU set called Winter is Calling!  I love these sweet vintage images:

I stamped them in Cherry Cobbler and added banners of white embossing and the new wide organdy ribbon, then sparkled everything up with glitter and silver glimmer paper!  The “sparkle” is from the Good Greetings hostess set!  A perfect one for this card!  DSP is from the Trim the Tree designer pack.

And since there are several layers, I am entering this in the Christmas Card Challenges for this week, to “layer it up”….got lots of layers here!  Thanks for visiting!

Paper Players 124

DSCF1311
Happy Sunday, everyone!  The temperatures are supposed to be in the 60s for the next couple of days, so it is a bit challenging to think about the Paper Players challenge for today, courtesy of Ann:
Oh, shoot, I can get happy about snowmen ANY day of the year!  I pulled out a vintage-style SU set called Winter is Calling for my card today:

I stamped it in Riding Hood Red, reminiscent of the redwork embroidery that used to be popular!  Of course, I added a liberal coating of glitter “snow”:

I mounted this on some pretty green and red holly DP, stitched around the edges, added a diecut holly and some retired SU ribbon, and I have another Christmas card for my stash!  I sure hope you’ll play along with the Paper Players today---be sure to check out the blog for the cute submissions and to show us yours as well!
