DSCF4077

Happy Thursday, peeps!  My sister asked me to make her a wedding card for my niece, and her colors are pink and gold, so I pulled out some beautiful Graphic 45 paper I just got, and used it with the Freshly Made Sketches sketch for this week, created by Karren:
I struggled with this card; I think I should have left the gold panel plain instead of adding the gold embossing, but I hope she likes it anyway!!!

I did a little stamping on the Pink Pirouette card base with Versamark and the swirl from Everything Eleanor; the gold embossed floral is a SAB set from last year, Fresh Vintage, stamped on Brushed Gold cardstock; the embossed sentiment is from the retired set Fabulous Phrases, punched out with the jewelry tag punch:

DSCF4075

I added a little SU button and some pink baker’s twine for a little bit of whimsy!  Thanks for visiting!

We picked almost 40 pounds of blueberries in the last three days from our very generous neighbor’s farm.  Cassidy was totally enthralled by the trays of frozen berries:

DSCF4055

John and I have a system for washing and drying them; he built a huge wooden tray with mesh on the bottom; he washes them with the hose, then dries them with the air hose from his shop!  I put freezer paper on cookie sheets, lay them out in a single layer with little blocks of wood in each corner and stack them up in the freezer.  Once they’re frozen, we roll up the paper and pour the berries in freezer bags!  Cassidy also thought the little wooden blocks were fun to play with….honestly, these kept her busy the whole entire time I was working in the kitchen:

Of course, she ate (and played with) a few of the frozen berries along the way!!  If you have any questions about my card, shoot me an email!

FMS136 and CCMC303

DSCF3036

Two cards for you today….late, but better late than never!  It’s pouring buckets here and my routine is just a little out of whack!  The first is for the Freshly Made Sketches sketch 136:

A little Crumb Cake, a little Retro Fresh and some retired SAB stuff:

These colors just make me happy, how about you?

The second card is a CAS design from Create with Connie & Mary:

I seriously need some new floral images, but for now, Blooming with Kindness, embossed in gold, will have to do:

I used a sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts, stamped in Gold Encore ink, and mounted it on top of a couple of Watercolor Wonder gold washi tape!  It is mounted on a Brushed Gold cardbase; my friend’s mom fell and broke her arm a day or so ago, so this will be for her!  Enjoy your day….any questions, shoot me an email!

RS59 & SR172

DSCF4227

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Woohoo….almost to the weekend!  Another swoon-worthy inspiration challenge, this time it’s from my friends at Stampin’ Royalty:

I would take any of those lovely vignettes for my home….if only I had a million bucks, right?  I’ll have to settle for a lovely card:

DSCF4226

I pulled some elements from the outer images….gingham, floral, the bird….and my friend Denise inspired me to use this SAB set from last year after I saw her card here!  Thanks, Denise!  It had been on my mind and she gave me the little push I needed!

I also used the RetroSketches sketch#59—so fun!

I love this card so much, I don’t want to mail it out….but it is already on its way to a special someone who did something REALLY nice for me!  Thanks for visiting today!  Any questions….pop me an email!

Cassidy was playing with tattoo markers (blessedly, they wash right off!) while I answered the phone yesterday…..and while I was distracted, she gave herself a couple of teeny tiny facial decorations…..and this is right after a bath, no less!!!!

   DSCF4225

Can you see them?  They’re so nice & evenly spaced…and no, they’re NOT pink!!!  She’s covering her mouth because she used the pink one on her LIPS!

ColourQ 157

DSCF8625

Happy Tuesday!  Since it’s the first Tuesday in October,  Arielle has chosen a special ColourQ palette for Breast Cancer month!  Check this out:

cqc157

What a gorgeous shirt!!!  I had so many ideas swirling in my head…where to start?  I pulled out a past Sell-a-bration set called Fresh Vintage to make my  4 1/4” square card:

LeAnne_CQC157

This also follows the sketch from CPS285:

which helped me in my choice of stamp set, because I knew those pretty postage stamp images would be perfect for this layout!  I also did some stamping on my embossed butterfly and added some black rhinestones:

DSCF8624

I added a sentiment from Fabulous Phrases, then ran the stamped panel through my Big Shot with the Square Lattice embossing folder for this pretty effect.  I sure hope you’ll play along with this special ColourQ challenge this week!  The other ColourQ courtiers have come up with some fun, special creations as well, so be sure to check them out at the ColourQ blog!

My friend and downline Laura sells these GORGEOUS mums….even Cassidy was impressed!

Get Well Wishes

DSCF0120

Two women in our church had hip replacement surgery this week!  Yikes!  I got to work making some Get Well cards!  I used Lesley’s Freshly Made Sketches sketch for the first one.  Here’s the sketch:

And here is my card, a last hurrah using SAB goodies Fresh Vintage and Everyday Enchantment :

 DSCF0121

Clean edges, no distressing, simple & basic!  The next one again uses that tulip digital image from Arielle….I had just printed out several and was coloring them in different colors; this one in red hues:

It also uses some digital DP and some sweet little retired SU ribbons!  Easy peasy!  Thanks for visiting today!

Bonus Stamping Time!

  DSCF0124

I didn’t have to babysit today, so I got a little extra stamping time!  The first card I’ll share is for the Sugar Creek Hollow Steampunk challenge:

DSCF0118

This is probably cleaner & simpler than they prefer, but it’s easier to mail that way!  All the images are digital, printed on some Basic Grey paper.  I added a little chipboard pennant embellished with some brads.  It’s a perfect masculine thank you card!

My next card is for two challenges:  Create with Connie & Mary‘s color challenge 195:

and sketch 32 from the Stampin Queens:

SQSC27-002

and here is my creation:

DSCF0122.JPG-1

I have to admit that these colors were challenging, for sure!  Really out of my comfort zone, but after seeing the designers’ creations, I went for it!   I again did fairly clean and simple and used some of my favorite SU products:  the Two Tags die, which I shortened; the SAB Fresh Vintage set (you have a couple more days to get this!), and the floral punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch.  Both papers are from Just Add Cake.  I “dyed” some Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon by coloring it with my So Saffron marker!

One of Cassidy’s favorite things to do outside is pull her saucer along---snow or no snow!  I thought she would enjoy giving her little stuffed toy “Moo” a ride as well.  She was having none of it---she placed him back on the driveway and went on her merry way without him!

I Love My Friends….

because they make such sweet gifts for me!  I wanted to share with you some of the lovely items my stamp club girls have made for me lately:

DSCF8091

Going clockwise and starting at the top, my friend Linda made me a wonderful “never-ending” card….you open it over & over again….and it is stamped in the loveliest colors; my friend Maryanne made a cute chicken pincushion from some SU fabric; my friend Ruth made a lovely post-it note holder; my friend Beth made an adorable St. Pat’s candy wrapper filled with goodies; and again, Maryanne made a cute little candy holder with a window and a fun little note card!   Maryanne had my chicken wrapped up in a nice cello bag with a cute tag & flower too, but I forgot to take a picture of that!

Now here’s an example of what my club hostesses received this month:

DSCF8084 DSCF8082 DSCF8083

The pattern for this is available on the Resource page at SplitcoastStampers; I made this one with Daffodil Delight cardstock and ink and used Fresh Vintage and Creative Elements stamp sets.  The bow is white seam binding that I dyed with DD ink, and it is filled with little unused bits & bobs left from various projects.  It sure makes a sweet little creation!

It has been so warm here, Cassidy has shed her socks:

And is doing her reading barefooted!

CC363 & FMS23

I have had a pleasant Saturday afternoon, puttering around in my craft room, and I was able to make a card using the Freshly Made Sketches sketch#23, which I turned on its side:

and I used Color Challenge #363 from the Splitcoaststampers this week, which is Basic Gray, Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirouette:

I began by stamping my Pink Pirouette card with the retired Paisley background stamp in Pretty in Pink ink.   For my main image, I used a digital freebie from the Graphics Fairy which I printed on some BG paper, then brayered with Pretty in Pink ink; I added a computer-generated sentiment and some stamped embellishments using the SAB set Fresh Vintage:

A little gingham ribbon with some pewter hardware finishes it off!  Thanks for visiting today!

Paper Players 82

DSCF4220

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Today is another Paper Players challenge with Ann as our hostess!  She has an elegant color challenge for us and wait until you see what all the designers have come up with!  Here’s the combo:

I need a wedding card for next month, and I thought this was a very elegant color selection, so I inked up the floral postage stamp image from Fresh Vintage in all the challenge colors, and added some Elegant Lines embossing:

PP82-LeAnne

The panel is mounted on a textured Very Vanilla card, and I added a Poppy Parade-dyed seam binding bow and a little tag, and it was done….really very simple!  I did add little pearls to the flowers, just for a tiny elegant touch:

DSCF4218

I really hope you can play along with us!  This color combination has lots of possibilities and we are looking forward to seeing your creations!

Cassidy had so much fun in the snow last week, she decided to try her saucer on the macadam!!!
