RRCB122 Thankful Leaves

Hi peeps!  Another rainy day, but that's okay--yesterday was beautiful, I even got out for a walk between my stamp camps!  It's time for another Retro Rubber challenge, where we get to give some love to our older stamps!  This week we have a sketch:

Image may contain: text

I found this great patterned paper in my stash, so I stamped some leaves from Vintage Leaves (2015) on watercolor paper and loosely colored them with some coordinating inks, then used the coordinating dies to cut them out:

I used Mango Melody, Terracotta Tile and Pumpkin pie reinkers and an aquapainter, then added a few speckles with Itty Bitty Backgrounds, abd mounted it on a circle of another paper:

I was going to stamp a sentiment to put below the circle, but I diecut another little piece from the words paper and colored around the word "thankful" with a Light Crumb Cake Blend so that it stood out a little...I like this effect:

I will probably stamp a Thanksgiving sentiment inside....I haven't decided yet, though!  I hope you'll play with our sketch this week....just remember that your stamps have to be at least a year old and you must tell us the approximate age!  It's always fun to revisit what's in our stash, right, and give them some love!  (And if you're having trouble remembering how old a stamp is, there is a gallery at Splitcoaststampers for almost every stamp company there is!  The Stampin' Up! one lists all the stamps they ever came out with, alphabetically!  So that could help you a bit!)  Then share it with us at Retro Rubber!  Thanks for popping in today!

Don't anyone tell Wayne that I put this picture out here...but it's almost my favorite one of all!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IB22 Industrial Charm

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Gosh, can you believe it's the last day of May!  Time flies!  And time for another Inspired By challenge!  A bit of an eclectic feel to my card today:

This was a fun one to make!! I used lots of different stamps, some are really old ones, too!  Here's Laurel's inspiration photo:

Image may contain: text

There are so many inspiring elements in this photo!!!  I wanted to do that cute little umbrella, but I have NO umbrella stamps at all...can you believe it?  So instead, I went for that warm natural brown color, black and white, and the line-drawing elements!  I pulled in a few of the other elements as well...dots, white on black, frames, well, you get the picture!

My bird is from Red Lead Paperworks; leaf is Vintage Leaves from SU, stamped in Hello Honey on Kraft paper and diecut with the Leaflets Framelits.  The frame is an old die from My Favorite Things, and I used a WHEEL from SU to stamp the musical notes in Craft White ink!!  When was the last time you used a wheel?!

The "bird" was from the same Red Lead stamp, and it was diecut with the Stitched Labels die; the "song" was stamped with the retired Simple Serif Alphabet set and hand-cut.  "To Cheer You" is from Our Daily Bread Designs and the speckles are from a Paper Pumpkin set.  I added some burlap ribbon and although it's hard to see, a faceted embellishment:

It's all mounted on a Thick White card, I just love this stuff, it's really sturdy and stands up well!

How will this photo inspire you?  I hope you'll play along with us, I just can't wait to see what your creative minds will come up with!!!  Share it with us at Inspired By!!

Thanks to Miss Sandy for these cool multi-colored lead pencils!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

MTS200 and CTD466 Three Leaves

Happy Monday, peeps!  I finally have a non-Chrismtas card for you, this definitely has a fall feel to it!  The Color Throwdown had lovely autumn hues for its challenge this week, and the Match the Sketch is celebrating their 200th challenge, and they want us to choose a favorite sketch from the past, so I chose sketch #42!

I began with a card of Kraft cardstock from last year, and ran it through the Big Shot with the Woodlands embossing folder, on which I had applied a layer of Sahara Sand ink:

I used the Vintage Leaves set for the three vertical elements, stamping them in Fresh Fig, Cajun Craze and Old Olive and a vertical panel of Foil Frenzy, just to add a little interest.  I also added a stitched border and some thick baker's twine in Blackberry Bliss.

The sentiment is from Blooms and Wishes, diecut with a Stitched Shapes oval.   A lovely fall creation!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP342 CAS Leaves

Hi everyone!  Sunday is here and that means another Paper Players challenge!  Jaydee is our lovely hostess with a tic-tac-toe theme!  I chose the center column:

Displaying pp342.jpg

Since I cannot seem to get my act together lately, another CAS creation is in the cards for me today! I went searching for a sketch and found this one from CAS(E) this Sketch by my sweet friend, Jen:

I took a thick white card base and masked it off, then stamped a tiny portion from the retired French Script background stamp in Cucumber Crush ink, then added some diecut Vintage Leaves:

A sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs and a few sequins, and it was done!  The inside features another leaf and a sentiment from Cottage Greetings!

Be sure to check out the PP blog where you can see ALL the creations from the Design Team...so many different interpretations of the tic-tac-toe grid!  What will YOU create?  Share it with us, please!

Mommy bought Cassidy a little Usborne art book complete with wee little rubber stamps featuring different shapes, along with some little ink pads.  There are pictures in the book that you can embellish with the shapes!  It's so cute and fun!

Here she added a bow tie (backwards, oops!) to the boy, and hairbows to the girls' hair!  It looks like so much fun, I want to play too!  I share my stamps and ink, right?!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SIP95 Sympathy Cards

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  Time for another Stamp Ink Paper challenge, and we've got a fun sketch for you:
No automatic alt text available.
I had a wee little hiccup with this sketch...it's hard for me to put something askew, but I made the card very CAS so hopefully it doesn't look too bad!  I was sad to hear that Flower Patch was retiring, so I made sure to use it, along with its matching die, with some other retiring products:  the Affectionately Yours Specialty DSP:

So you really can't get much simpler than this....a diecut flower, some leaves, a stitched circle and a sentiment!

And since I needed two sympathy cards this week for the same family, I did another one, this time using Moroccan DSP and Vintage Leaves:

I seem to be on an assembly-line roll this week!  Last week with Cassidy got me a little behind in my card-making, I guess!

So here we are all on Easter, with windy storm clouds as a back-drop, which is a shame, because earlier in the day, it was beautiful!  And the wind really did a number on my hair....the guys have nothing to worry about in that department, LOL!

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!

MTS152 and CCMC434 Thinking of You

Happy Monday, all!  A quick little post today using Match the Sketch's sketch and Create with Connie & Mary's colors:

CCMC434

I needed a get-well card for my BIL....he cut the upper portion of his finger on a wood splitter!  Yowch!  The surgeon was able to reattach it but he will be in the hospital for a few days!  I took the sketch and turned it on its side as I liked the orientation better.  The Vintage Leaves leaf was stamped in Delightful Dijon; the sentiment from Wetlands in Cherry Cobbler, and the other splatters in Crumb Cake.  Some of them are from Work of Art and some are from Timeless Textures:

I also stamped the circular element as well as the horizontal and vertical elements in different images from Timeless Textures....all stamped in Versamark to give it a nice subtle look.

We've had several "murmurations" of starlings over the last week....Cassidy was fascinated by them!

Enjoy your day!

TO65 Falling Leaves

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I have been loving the weather this week, but summer isn't ready to say adios quite yet!  But I am in the fall stamping mood for sure!  The Time Out challenge this week is about leaves and fall, a perfect one for this time of the year.  On my Pinterest board, I saw this stunning card from Julie Beech  (scroll down to the fifth card) and knew I just had to recreate it with Vintage Leaves:

I stamped the leaves on the front of a Very Vanilla card, masking and sponging them; I used Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Delightful Dijon, Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze inks, then added some spatters with Soft Suede.  I added a little strip of Chocolate Chip to each side of the side panels (they look uneven in the photo, but they're not!!!) and used lots of dimensionals to attach it to the front of the card.  Of course, I forgot to stamp the sentiment (a past Paper Pumpkin) so I carefully did that, then added another leaf on front, stamped in Tangerine Tango:

When it was all finished, I realized the fold was on the bottom and I stamped and assembled everything upside down!  A little more cutting and gluing and it was all good!  But I am sure you have never had to do that!!!

I forgot to share how Cassidy laid out her clothes for the first day of school:

Of course, she spilled something on her shirt at breakfast time, so we had to resort to shirt "B"!

Enjoy your day!

Try Stampin’ On Tuesday #240

DSCF2249

Happy Tuesday, all!  It’s time for another lovely sketch from the Try Stampin’ On Tuesday crew!  You know how I love things in threes, so this made me happy:

And the optional theme is “autumn”!  So nice!  I pulled out my new-to-me Vintage Leaves stamp set and Leaflets framelits for my card today:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings TSOT240 Vintage Leaves Stampin Up

It’s always fun to use your supplies in unexpected ways, I think!  The card base for my card is Tip Top Taupe, and I used some papers from Sweet Lil’ Things for my mat….not an autumnal pack, but I think these colors work nicely, don’t you?  I stamped my leaves  in Delightful Dijon, Cajun Craze and Tangerine Tango and diecut them.  Then, using an acrylic block, I stamped blocks of color in Hello Honey, Calypso Coral and Pumpkin Pie on squares of Very Vanilla, then mounted my leaves on top.  I added some Soft Sky candy dots to go with the little specks in my DSP!  The vertical panels are pieces of white Jute ribbon; the center piece is full size, the outer panels were created by cutting one piece in half!  I love the soft subtle look!  And on the inside, I stamped the leaf in Tip Top Taupe, stamping off once on a tissue, then adding the sentiment from Endless Thanks:

I hope you’ll play along with us this week and use our fun sketch!  Be sure to hop on over to the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday blog to see the others’ autumn creations, or check out on page on Facebook!

More pumpkin patch fun!  This time, the corn maze with Dominic:
