Products used (plus retired SU star punch and Marina Mist ribbon):
Phew, it’s Friday! YAY! I am hoping this week is on its way to settling down! I have had this card made for two days and haven’t had a chance to post it! It uses the Color Throwdown colors for this week:
and the Freshly Made Sketches sketch from Karren:
Now, in my haste, I totally missed that the sentiment was supposed to be at the TOP LEFT…but I am submitting it anyway and since I love the three panels sketch, I may just do another one! I need to bulk up my birthday card supply! So here we go:
I stamped the three panels with the Gingham Wheel, and added an embossed background (which is difficult to see), a couple of stars and a little denim doodad, finished off with some candy dot brads. I had most of these supplies already on my desk from my last card, LOL!
I unmounted my Gingham Wheel and adhered it to some clear-mount cling foam (you can find this on page 197 of the current SU catalog) to make it a bit easier to use. Now off to run some errands! But first, a little Cassidy pic getting her creative on:
Spritzing:
sponging:
and cutting (we’re still working on scissors skills, LOL!):
Enjoy your day!
Happy Sunday, peeps! It’s time for another Paper Players challenge, and today I have a clean and simple challenge for you:
Today is my daughter Dana’s birthday, and she LOVES stars, and she loves purple and silver, so I made her birthday card using both:
I used the Freshly Made Sketches sketch for this week:
and I used the sets Simply Stars and A Dozen Thoughts, and an assortment of ink colors and cardstocks: Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant, Silver Glimmer, Silver Foil, and Brushed Silver. The stars were all punched with the retired small star punch. I added my sentiment on a little paper-pierced circle, stamped a little silver star from the retired Itty Bitties set, and finished it off with silver ribbon! To make sure my ribbon stayed in place, I did a one-hole technique, taught to me by my upline, Pennie. You can see a tutorial for it here: One Hole Bow tutorial.
So, now how will you do your clean and simple starry card? The design team has a plethora of fun ideas….some will surprise you….so be sure to check them out:
Forgive me if I shared this photo before, but this is a picture that Cassidy drew of Dana, including the “wrinkles” between her eyes!!!
Opening her Valentine candy!
Enjoy your day!
