FMS624 Smile

Happy Friday, everyone! I just love the FMS sketch this week...SO many possibilities!

I am still playing with the SAB Sunny Day DSP, so I cut some coordinating 1" strips and came up with this:

I used the big floral from Hooray for Surprises, along with the matching dies, to make some big bold flowers.  Wasn't quite the look I was going for, but it has a fun contemporary feel with the black leaves, so I just kept going with it.  I did add a couple of enamel dots to jazz it up a bit:

And the "smile" from Circle Sayings, stamped directly on the DSP, made ME smile:

And since I still had leftover strips, I made another card; I love things in threes, so this made me smile too:

I used the largest Perennial Postage die to cut a mat from Basic White, then cut and layered the strips to fit; I used the opposite side of the Petal Pink paper because I had cut it in the wrong orientation the first time...ooops!  These are colors I would not normally put together, but they do look nice here.  I added a Zany Zoo sentiment and a Petal Pink diecut flower, then mounted it all on a Pool Party card.  Another birthday card to add to my stash!

Thanks for popping in today!

Dana & Wayne enrolled Cassidy in a basketball skills camp; it happens to be run by someone that Dana went to school with:

She had fun and hopefully will hone her skills!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP672 Black, White & Bright

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Today is my Hostess Appreciation party, so this will be quick!  Anne Marie is our Paper Players hostess and she has a fun color challenge for us!  Black, white and a pop of color is always fun:

I had a little turtle diecut from Zany Zoo floating around on my desk, cut but unused from a couple weeks ago, and I thought to myself, why not color him in a bold, bright green and use him for my card (and get another piece of paper off my desk, LOL!)?  So that's what I did!  Here we go:

I used the Atlantic Hearts Sketch for my layout:

and I used three patterns of Parakeet Party for my horizontal panels.  They all went on a Parakeet Party mat that was embossed with the retired Dotty Hearts embossing folder.  I colored my little turtle with some Blends, combined a couple of sentiments on a Stitched So Sweetly panel then stamped some music notes and added some sequins to finalize my card:

A sentiment from Zany Zoo also went on the inside:

I think someone will enjoy this little crooning turtle for their special day!  Now, how will you use black, white and a bold color?  Please hop over to the Paper Players blog to see ALL the creations from the design team! I am sure you'll enjoy them and may get some inspiration from them as well!  Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

Critter Valentine

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Squeaking in here with a cute little Valentine using some new goodies, paired with stuff from the regular catalog as well!  Jumping right in:

The background paper is from the new Most Adored DSP from the SAB catalog, and it's paired with a new outline die called Everyday Details.  I used the Zany Zoo bundle to cut out my little pals, and colored them with some Blends:

The sentiment is from Thoughout The Year, stamped in Real Red, and the Balmy Blue embossed hearts come from the Adoring Hearts Hybrid embossing folder:

It's accented with some black and white gingham ribbon!  I added a sentiment from Country Bouquet on the inside (which I forgot to photograph) that says "I love that we are friends"!  I am trying to use more supplies from the current catalog along with the mini, so I think this is a good combination!

Thanks so much for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

IB267 Zany Birthday

Happy Friday, peeps!  I am taking a break from holiday stamping, as my birthday card stash is running low!  I pulled out my  Zoo Crew DSP and Zany Zoo dies and stamps to make an easy-peasy card:

I loosely used the Inspired By 267 sketch, flipping it so my little aardvark wouldn't be marching off the page!:
I diecut two of the figures from the DSP, the ballerina and the raccoon.  The aardvark had to be fussy-cut!  I think this little cutie is my favorite! I colored her tutu with Melon Mambo and Berry Burst inks, and although you can't see it, it highlighted with some Wink of Stella!  I added a sentiment from Zany Zoo with a Shimmer Paper mat diecut with a Labels Aglow die:

A sentiment from the retired Best Year went on the inside, along with some confetti!  Now it's off to send it to a special birthday girl!

Thanks for visiting today!

I snagged these photos of my great-nephews Jameson & Sawyer; every year they make cookies with their grandmom:

They look very intent on their decorating, don't they?

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SUO330 Zany Square Birthday

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  Hope your week is going well so far!  I have a card that's a wee bit different; the challenge at SUO (Stampin Up Only) is "It's Hip to be Square"...they want to see a square on your card!

I am not quite sure why I decided to make the card base of my card black, unless I was thinking that I was going to use the black & white side of the Zoo Crew DSP, but I changed my mind about the patterns, but stayed with the black!  So here we go:

To create my card, I took a piece of Basic Black cardstock 8 1/2 x 4 1/4", folded it in half, then ran it through my Big Shot with the largest Radiating Stitches die; obviously, I left the folded edge intact so that just the sides were exposed to the die.  Although it was a double layer, the die still cut through pretty well...I only had to trim it with scissors in a tiny spot.  So my card wasn't quite square, but it left me with enough room to add a square mat and some of the fun figures from the Zoo Crew papers:

The matching ribbon fit perfectly in the little space above the figures, and I used a one-hole bow technique so the ribbon wouldn't slide around.  I stamped some confetti and a sentiment before adhering it to a Parakeet Party mat; then on the inside, added some more confetti and a sentiment from Charming Sentiments:

Embossing both front and back of the card made it a little wonky; it was an experiment and I may try it again with thicker cardstock!  But it will make a fun card for someone's birthday!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS587 You Make Me Smile

Happy Friday, peeps!  I am back again with some Zany Zoo critters...I just can't stop using them!  This card uses the sketch from FMS and that cute little skunk; it's very similar to my Paper Players card from Sunday, but this time I wanted to challenge myself to use the new color Lemon Lolly.  I find myself challenged by yellows and purples, so I decided to go for it!  First, the sketch:

And now, the card:

I punched or diecut circles from the black and white patterns of the Zoo Crew DSP, then stamped and diecut my little skunk with his bird-watching pal.  They're colored with Blends and accented with a sweet sentiment from Timeless Arrangements....my new go-to set! To give the Lemon Lolly card base a little more distinction, I embossed it with the Countryside Blossoms embossing folder.  I also colored in the flowers on the DSP!  That sentiment could be used for so many occasions!

So happy you popped in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC523 Zany Ballerina

Hi there, stamping friends! My card today uses the Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge; at first I was a bit stumped, but hopefully I made it work!  I really wanted to use some of those cute little animals from Zany Zoo...my dies finally arrived yesterday, so it was perfect timing!  So here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

My card base is Balmy Blue; the glimmer paper is actually the lightest shade of the Tahitian Tide glimmer paper...it works well with the lighter blue!  The DSP is from Zoo Crew, as is my little ballerina!  She, the flowers and the scalloped border were cut with Zany Zoo dies, and although you can't see it, her skirt is sparkly, courtesy of some Wink of Stella!

Finally, I heat embossed a sentiment from Color and Contour on Basic Black cardstock, fussy-cut it out and added a couple of banners for fun:

I am thinking this will make a great birthday card for one of the wee little girls at my church!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS583 To A Classic

Happy Monday, everyone! And Happy May! Hope you had a good weekend! I am squeaking in my submission for the FMS sketch by the skin of my teeth, but I really wanted to play, and I also wanted to play with the Less Is More challenge of "A for Automobile"!

And here we go:

The DSP is Ready to Ride, and the image is from He's All That, stamped in Pumpkin Pie.  I cut it out with one of the new Countryside Corners dies, cropping the bottom to square it off and adding a little mat behind it. The "No. 1" and photo corners are also from the same set. Everything is on Very Vanilla!

The inside sentiment is from Zany Zoo!!  Works great with this set, don't you think?

Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

PP638 Tic Tac Toe

Happy Sunday, peeps, and happy last day of April!  Wow, that month flew by!  Anne Marie is our Paper Player hostess this week and since it's the fifth Sunday, we have a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge!  Here we go:

I went with the middle row across of ribbon, die cut and patterned paper!  I am still trying to give my retiring stamps one last go of it; can you tell which stamp I used?

Pretty obvious, huh?  That Knit Together background stamp works perfectly with this little crafty llama from Zany Zoo, don't you think?  I stamped the background in Blushing Bride on a piece of pink  Awash with Beauty DSP, which has a soft of watercolor look to it, which gave the knit pattern a very realistic look, in my opinion!  I stamped Miss Llama in Memento black and colored her in with the some Blends:

then mounted her on a tag and added some ribbons from the Zany Zoo bundle:

The horizontal panel is some Parakeet Party DSP, and I added some little white gel pen dots to her chair to coordinate!!  The sentiment is from Color & Contour.  I just love every little animal in this set, I can't wait to play with them some more!  And I think I'll keep the Knit background just for her!

I hope our TTT grid will give you some inspiration to play along with us this week!  Check out the other samples from our talened Design Team over at the Paper Players blog and see what tickles your fancy!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI297 Zany Zoo Birthday

Happy Friday, stamping friends!  The sweet team at As You See It has asked me to fill in a few times over the next couple of months, and look at the first inspiration I get to play with:

What amazing, fun colors!  I just got the Zany Zoo set and thought how fun it would be to do some watercoloring on this cute little gater...or is it a croc?  Not sure!  Anyway, here we go:

I stamped her in Black Stazon ink and used the challenge colors to fill in the image.  I did get only a wee bit of So Saffron on her basket but it IS there, I assure you!  I added a panel of Parakeet Party glimmer paper, some polka-dot embossed Coastal Cabana cardstock, and then added a sentiment from the same set on a Radiating Stitches die cut.  I also added a little banner from the Countryside Corners Dies:

I tied on some ribbon from the same bundle, then stamped a partial sentiment from the Circle Sayings on the inside, adding some confetti for fun:

These are such fun colors, I can't wait to see what everyone does with them!  Be sure to check out how the other designers used them, and let them inspire you to use them too!  Share them with us at As You See It!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
