PP665 Give Thanks

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Anne Marie is our Paper Players hostess today with the timely theme of "Give Thanks":

Even if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, or send out Thanksgiving Day cards, a thank you card is always appropriate!  But I do have some cute Thanksgiving stamps, so that's what I went with!  I also used the sketch and colors from CAS Colours & Sketches:

So here we go:

I stamped the mice in Versafine Black and watercolored them with Gray Granite and Basic Black inks, then stamped and fussy-cut the cheese, coloring it with Hello Honey.  The panels are some green scrapbook paper from my stash and some Cajun Craze plaid from a couple of years ago!  They were diecut with the Stitched Triangle dies, then layered on a Very Vanilla card.

I may go back and give these little mice a little blush on their cheeks, LOL!  I also managed to track down my retired Really Rust ink pad for the sentiment inside!

We all have something for which to be thankful! I hope you'll translate that into a card and share it with us at the Paper Players!  Be sure to check out what the design team created as well!

Gratitude Changes Everything

Happy Friday, peeps! Yay, the weekend is here!  My card today is for the Shopping Our Stash challenge,  which features some gorgeous regal shades, and I used the sketch from Inspired By; the theme was adorable but I had been thinking about these images for a couple of days and the sketch fit, so I went with it!  Here are the prompts:

So my images aren't quite to scale like the sketch, but hopefully it will be okay! Here we go:

I stamped these Fall: Take Three Papertrey images in Old Olive, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie, then used a W+9 die to cut them out.  The sentiment is from a Right at Home set called Grateful Heart:

To give some interest to the Pretty Peacock background, I first stamped it with the retired Linen background stamp, then embosssed it with the Cane Weave embossing folder.  If you look closely, you can see the "weave".  I added a little Linen braid trim because in the photo, the rug and lamp are natural colored and I liked the contrast.  On the inside, a sentiment from the PTI set:

I think these rich jewel tones are just beautiful!  And I am going to pop this in over at the Time Out challenge  as well, as their theme is gratitude:

Thanks for visiting today!

A few more pictures from Longwood:

These are certainly jewel-toned as well!  Nature is beautiful!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP663 Sketch from Jaydee

Happy Sunday, peeps! Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess this week and it's sketch week! I love sketches!  Here we go:

Wouldn't you know it, I needed another sympathy card this week, so I used Jaydee's sketch to create one:

These beautiful All About Autumn papers are just perfect for a thoughtful card; I used two layers of vellum for my bottom panel so you could still see the leaves through them a bit, and a panel of Copper Clay for the top panel, embossed (debossed, actually) with the Leaf Fall embossing folder:

The sentiment and diecut are both from Papertrey; I added some enamel dots for interest.  A simple sentiment from Stamp Simply was stamped in Early Espresso on the inside:

I am also going to pop this in over at JUGS where they have a lovely mood board:

I hope you'll play with our intriguing sketch this week!  Be sure to visit the Paper Players blog to see what all the designers came up with. I hope they inspire you to play with us as well!  Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Stamp Camp Fall Projects

Happy Friday, peeps! Hope you have a great weekend planned!  Keeping my fingers crossed that we don't have rain on Saturday, as it's our Harvest Party at church!  Don't want our bonfire to get drenched!  Here are a couple more projects from my stamp camp; these were two of the fall cards we made:

These both used some beautiful embossing folders, sentiments from Paper Tray and various dies from SU and Lawn Fawn.  These may just have been my favorites!

Again, if you have any questions, shoot me an email (and include your email as well so I can answer!).  Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS606 & DDC Pink Halloween

Happy Thursday, peeps!  The Double D Challenge this month is PINK for Breast Cancer month!  Here's their fun prompt:

A couple of years ago I bought some CTMH Halloween papers and one of them had a pink background with white ghosts and black bats....but I never used it because I just couldn't reconcile pink with Halloween!  But I thought it would be perfect for this challenge!  So I pulled it out and here we go:

I also used the FMS sketch for this week:

I don't know what it is with me and vellum lately, but this is the third card I've made in a couple of weeks that uses vellum, particularly over top of printed paper! These papers just looked a little too busy with my trio of circles, so I gave it a "misty" look by popping a piece of vellum over top.  And since I still had my dies out from the card I made a couple days ago, I diecut another ghost, punched out a bat, and created some pink and black candy corn...I'll bet they taste like Good 'n Plenty, whatcha think?

I added a sentiment from Papertrey (as are the candy corns), a few sparkly bits and some diecut circles and it was done!  Here's the inside, using MFT's Primitive Pumpkins sentiments:

I am also going to enter this at the Two Old Bats Halloween challenge, where anything Halloween goes:

I am thrilled to be using up some of that pink Halloween paper!  You should check out what the design team members came up with using their pink supplies!  Thanks for popping in today..enjoy it and be blessed!

TSOT627 Pumpkin Friend

Happy Wednesday, all!  I've been pushing these papers around on my desk for a couple of weeks and finally forced myself to use them on a card!  The Try Stampin on Tuesday sketch seemed to fit:

So here we go:

I found some retired Gilded Autumn Specialty paper in my stash and it seemed to go with this orange print from Honey Bee's Halloween Harvest.  I stamped a pumpkin in Grapefruit Grove and Cajun Craze inks on a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock to create my pumpkin:

It's hard to see, but I added some gold ink to the lines of my pumpkin using a Gold Painty Pen...I love the effect it gives!  A bit of copper twine and a Brushed Gold diecut circle in the background add to the sheen!  My sentiment is from Papertrey's Vintage Picnic Sentiments, stamped on Crumb Cake cardstock too.  And a sentiment from the retired Pretty Pumpkins went on the inside:

Any shade of orange is my favorite color and pumpkins and fall themes work well with it!

The great-nephew's first day of school:

They're getting so tall!  Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Very Very Busy on the Farm

Happy Monday, everyone!  I have a very busy card for you today; I confess that I normally do not add so many layers on my cards (although I have been known to do that), but after seeing the pretty inspiration photo over at my friends' The Card Concept challenge, I decided to go whole hog...pun intended! Here's their inspiration:

Isn't that a fun wreath to hang on one's door?  Lots of country elements there.  I chose not to make a wreath, but I did use the Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge sketch:

So hang onto your socks, here we go:

First, my concept is probably Shabby and Vintage. I remembered an older SU stamp called Provencal which had a rooster, so I stamped it in Stazon ink on Shimmery White cardstock, did a wee bit of watercoloring, then added lots and lots of Timeless Arrangement layers:

The barn and sentiment are from Papertrey's On the Farm; the background is an older My Favorite Things Distressed Background Blocks in a chicken wire pattern.  I finished it off with some gingham ribbon and a couple of enamel dots.  I originally had opted for a white background for the front but I ended up adding it to the inside, along with a couple more PTI stamps:

Thanks for visiting today!  The weather turned warmer, it's lovely, but it's also brought out the stink bugs, so the rest of the day I'll be swatting them away!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

For it is by God's grace that you have been saved through faith.  It is not the result of your own efforts, but God's gift, so that no one can boast about it.  Ephesians 2:8-9

PP649 CAS Gingerbread Greetings

Happy Sunday, everyone!  It's time for a new Paper Players challenge!  Anne Marie is our hostess this week with a CAS challenge, and it's a fun one!  She wants to see something we can eat!

The Christmas Kickstart challenge this week happens to be gingerbread, so I decided to combine the two challenges and came up with this:

My Lawn Fawn gingerbread people were stamped on Cinnamon Cider cardstock, then colored with a Real Red blend.  The gingham piece was stamped in Real Red ink and I added a scalloped border of Shaded Spruce.  The sentiment was also stamped in Shaded Spruce:

I resisted the temptation to add any other embellishments since it is supposed to be clean-and-simple!

I hope you'll find some inspiration at the Paper Players blog to create your own "foodie" CAS creation!  Can't wait to see what you come up with!  Thanks for visiting today--enjoy your day and be blessed!

Tis the Season

Happy Friday, peeps! I have been very neglectful in keeping up with my Christmas cards; it's a bit challenging when the temps are in the 80s!  But there were some fun challenges around, so I put on my elf hat and went to work!  I used the sketch from TSOT, the Peace on Earth Day challenge from Jingle Belles (use something recycled) and the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown color challenge of red and green:

I began with a white card base and I found this knit-embossed panel in my stash; someone gifted it to me a long time ago and I have been hoarding it!  Time to put it to use!

Many years ago, my creative friend Michele sent me these Papertrey sleds; this is the last one in my little stash!  I mounted it on some Shaded Spruce and Basic White panels that were embossed and diecut, then I embellished it with some greenery and a little brass bell that was recycled from a gift package my friend Sandy gave me!  The wood-grain circle is also recycled; when Michele sent me the sleds, she sent them in a cool wood-grain envelope, which I carefully unassembled and used the flap to diecut a circle!  Thanks, Michele!

Both sentiments inside and out are from Simon Says Stamp.

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

CAS Berry Christmas

Happy Friday, peeps!  Hope you have some fun plans for the weekend!  In an effort to replenish my Christmas card supply, here's my weekly holiday creation!  This is a CAS card--one layer---to fulfill the Christmas Craft Creations challenge, and I am also entering it at the Krafty Chicks monthly Christmas challenge and the Jingle Belles challenge, which wants only cardstock!

So here we go:

This is uber-CAS!  Sentiment and images are from Papertrey; the speckle is from Friends are Like Seashells!  I used Shaded Spruce for the greenery and Sweet Sorbet and Cherry Cobbler for the berries.  Speckles were stamped in Soft Succulent; easy peasy!

While watching old episodes of Inspector Lynley yesterday, I made a little felt doodad to display with my St Patrick's Day decor:

Sadly, I had NO kelly green in my felt stash...I guess I need to remedy that!  So I had to pick this sort of bluish green as an alternative!  Still looks cute!  I diecut everything with my Big Shot and various dies, then did a blanket stitched with embroidery floss.  I love felt!  Thanks for visiting today--enjoy it and be blessed!
