More Fabric!

DSCF6531-2

I was experimenting again with using fabric on my projects and I was thrilled with the results of this!  Here it is:

DSCF6532-1

I used the Tasteful Trim die to cut two 9” scalloped pieces from the Spice Cake fabric.  I then ran two strips of Sticky Strip down the Spice Cake DP (how convenient that this paper is STRIPED!) and “ruffled” the fabric along the Strip.  I anchored it at top & bottom first, then the center and out from there.  Does that make sense?  I guess I could do a tutorial if I had enough interest, let me know what you think.  I then covered it with some Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon, added a button and my sentiment.  Here’s a closer look:

I am still trying to come up with ideas using fabric; if you have any to share, let me know!

DSCF6516-2

This week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is to do a clean and simple card!  Right up my alley!  Here we go:

DSCF6513-1

One stamp set, one punch and four little embellishments!  Easy peasy!

DSCF6515-2

I colored the pearl and the rhinestone brad with  Copics to match my little hearts!  Fun way to get some extra zing from your embellishments!

Cassidy is getting a little better each day, but still not herself 100%.  But she is playing again, not wanting to be held all the time:

Monkey Sketch 72

DSCF6501-1

Happy Thursday everyone!  It’s soggy here in PA..a good time to be inside stamping! For my Christmas card this week, I am using the sketch from ala Card Monkey:

Monkey 72 Christmas-001

and here is my card---I used a few liberties with the sketch!

DSCF6497-1

I am trying to incorporate fabric into some of my projects and I thought this piece would be pretty with my vintage snowman.  I used sticky strip to adhere it and made it a bit off-kilter and “wrinkly” to match the vintage theme.  I also smudged the edges with Tea Stain ink from the Distressing Kit.

DSCF6500-3

If I had been feeling a tad bit more energetic I would have added some glitter to the snowflakes and maybe stamped on the background,  but as it is, it’s going to be a glitter-less card!  Mr Snowman was stamped in Stazon, colored with reinkers, an aquapainter and a White Watercolor Crayon.  I used my Stamp-a-ma-Jig to stamp the sentiment from Christmas Greetings to fit the oval punch.  Thanks for visiting today!

A few people asked me about my stamp pad storage caddy from this post.  Unfortunately, because of SU restrictions, I can’t post here on my blog where I got it.  I can try to answer individual emails when possible.  Please, as a reminder….if you ask me a question in the comment section, but do not give me your email address or if you post  anonymously, there is no way I can answer your question!!!  Several people have asked me something recently and I have felt bad because I wanted to answer but had no way to respond!  I don’t want people to think I am rude!!! LOL!  You can always email me at leanne dot pugliese at gmail dot com!

US122

DSCF6469-3

I haven’t made a card using an Unscripted Sketches sketch for a while, so I thought I’d play today:

US122

I needed a simple birthday card for my nephew, who LOVES to ride minibikes with his cousin when he comes to visit from SC, so I thought this retired SU Motorcycle stamp would be perfect:

DSCF6467

Some BG Wander papers are the perfect background for this “motoring”-themed card!  And here’s the inside:

DSCF6470-1

I know he’ll like what is inside the card more than the card itself!!

Cassidy is a little bit better….as soon as the Motrin wears off, though, she’s miserable:

DSCF6472-1

but Grammy let her play in her PJs:

DSCF6481-1

but once we got dressed, it was raining so hard we had to stay inside:

We’re just taking it an hour at a time!  Thanks for your prayers and thanks for visiting today!

  • Stamps:  Motorcycle, Word Play, Sentiments O’Simple, Unity

ColourQ101, JUGS 100

DSCF6465

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I am lamenting my lack of mojo today, hopefully it will be coming back soon; I think it must have stayed in Delaware at the beach! Arielle has a gorgeous color combo for you today:

cqc101

It’s actually close to the combo I did last week! I wanted to use the JUGS sketch 100 from this week, too:

JUGS100

and came up with this:

CQC101-LeAnne

It sort of looks like it is glowing, doesn’t it? That Orchid Opulence is a tough color to photograph! I used some elements from Best Friends Forever and Tiny Tags, along with SU’s bird punch. The body is stamped with the polka dot image and the wing is stamped with the crosshatch heart image. I hung a few little tags from the Pool Party ruffled ribbon:

DSCF6463

Unfortunately, you can’t see them all! I like the inside more:

DSCF6466

Used my leftover piece from the Tasteful Trims die and a sentiment from Friendly Phrases. This card is for someone who did a really, really, nice thing for us—and I’ll share that later on! I hope you can participate in the ColourQ this week—we’d love to see your creation---pop on over there and show us your stuff!

While on vacation, I had the wonderful opportunity to spend a little time with a new stamping/blogging friend, Linda Fisher! She has a wonderful blog and with a punch in her hand, is one of the most creative people I know! Her punch art is AMAZING! (You need to check out her blog, seriously!) Here we are, checking out the aisles of a LSS:

155_5555

She is as sweet as can be and I am thrilled we got to meet; I look forward to seeing her again soon, maybe during my next trip to see my dad!

Thank you for all the thoughts & prayers for Cassidy. She is still very sick….poor thing is just miserable. I did snag a picture of her from her alternate babysitter on a happier day:

Hopefully she’ll be smiling like this again soon! Thanks for visiting!

CAS134

DSCF6461

Well, we are back from vacation, and I am nursing a nasty cough which has really sapped my energy! So I was happy to see an easy CAS challenge today on SCS, which was to use SHOES! My niece had a little boy while we were away, so this was perfect!

DSCF6459

I used a favorite layout, a simple image, some cute Max & Whiskers paper from BG and some SU scalloped ribbon. Here’s the inside, using my new Friendly Phrases set:

    Paper Players 62

Happy Sunday to everyone! I totally apologize for the lateness of this post; we just got back from vacation and I could have sworn that I set this up for pre-posting! Oh well! What with the wild weather we had last week, who knows where it went!

Lesley is our Paper Players hostess today and she has chosen "Birthdays" as her theme! We can always use birthday cards, can't we?

I chose to make a belated birthday card using Easy Events and some assorted polka dot papers in Marina Mist and from Nursery Nest:

I did some paper piecing with another piece of Certainly Celery polka-dotted paper, also from Nursery Nest and used Blushing Bride for the cardstock. This versatile set makes a card in no time flat! I hope you'll pop on over to the Paper Players and play along with us this week!

No pix of the baby, but I would ask for prayers as the poor little thing got very sick over the weekend--she had thrush last week, now an ear infection, pink eye and the beginnings of pneumonia! Scary stuff! Hopefully she'll be on the mend and I can have some pictures of her this week! Thanks so much, and thanks for visiting!
