Happy Tuesday, peeps!  A real quick post today, it’s errand-running day!  I’ve got a Christmas card for you, for the Merry Monday cat or dog challenge, as well as the Kraft Journal’s Anything Goes – Girlfriends challenge!

I also used the Mary Jo’s Technostamper sketch for this week:

I like cats and dogs, but surprisingly, I don’t have many stamps of either…especially with a Christmas theme!  I did remember this set, Winter is Calling, had a little puppy in it, so I pulled it out and stamped it simply in Real Red, then added some digital DSP, burlap and sequins and mounted it on a Crumb Cake card base:

The “girlfriends” challenge is sort of tongue-in-cheek;  the two girls are obviously friends, so that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it!!!  Here’s a closeup of my little pup, and you can see the glittery snow, too:

My sentiment is from Great Greetings, stamped on the banner from the Circle Card thinlet.

I have to confess that I haven’t been doing a lot of stamping lately (which I need to remedy) but I have been knitting up a storm!  I made a poncho for my niece for next fall; she just turned a year last month, so I hope she gets a lot of use from it!  I loved knitting with this wool, it was soft and easy to work with, and now I want to make a sweater of my own with it….if I dare!!!   I have to confess that Dana crocheted the flowers as well as the string tie, as I don’t know how to crochet!! So here it is:

Happy Monday, everyone!  Hope you had a great weekend!  It is definitely spring….I look out the window one minute and it is pouring, and a few minutes later, the sun is shining….crazy!

I am playing with the Freshly Made Sketches sketch this week:

and I am not sure why I am attracted to bold colors this week!  Yesterday was Real Red and today’s creation features Pacific Point:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Vintage Fashion Thank You

This card is a thank-you to my SIL!  She invited all the women in John’s family to a fund-raising fashion show and luncheon on Saturday, hosted by the Eastern Hemophiliac Association in Philadelphia.  Her husband, John’s brother, was a hemophiliac and died due to complications from a blood transfusion before I even met John.  It is a wonderful organization and we had a lovely time!  I had been perusing some old Workbasket magazines from the late 1950s and when I saw this pattern page, I thought it would be fun to make it into a card for her!

The card itself is 5”x6” in order to accommodate the larger panel; I stamped and embossed the sentiment (from Feb’s Paper Pumpkin), then added some flowers from Pictogram Punches, stamped in Pacific Point on Naturals Ivory.  Other embellishments were some Very Vanilla seam binding and a designer button.  I love these images; this one reminds me of my mom!!

The sentiment from SAB’s Lotus Blossom seemed fitting for the inside:

And here is a shot of all of us:

John’s sister Mimi is to my right, John’s stepmom Trish is to my left, and John’s SIL Colleen is to her left.  Colleen’s DD Olivia is behind Trish and Mimi’s DIL Michele is behind Colleen!  The rest are friends and family of Colleen’s!  The meal was delicious and I actually won a couple of nice door prizes!  A fun day!

And just in case you are missing Cassidy, here is a pic Dana shared with me from yesterday:

Paper Players 241

DSCF9366

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It has been a glorious weekend here in Pennsylvania, hope it’s been great where you are too!  Nance is our Paper Players hostess today with an awesome clean and simple challenge:

Woohoo!  Anyone who reads my blog might know that I love to watercolor…so why was this challenge so “challenging”?  I am not sure, but this is the third card I made and I am still not real happy with it!  I wanted to do something similar to the blinkie above, but in the end, I just went with a line drawing and did my usual watercoloring!  I did choose an unusual color, because I don’t usually use Real Red unless it’s a Christmas card!  So here we go:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 241 Vermillion Stampin Up

I thought it would be fun to use a bird on my card because I have been enjoying watching the birds at my feeder lately, although I doubt very much I will see one of these!  This is a retired stamp called Young Vermillion, and I really wasn’t sure what color a vermillion was!  So I googled it and a Vermillion Flycatcher is red….very, very red!  So that was my inspiration!  I stamped him in Stazon on watercolor paper and diecut him with a Lil’Inkers Stitched Circles die after coloring him with some reinkers and an aquapainter:

DSCF9368

I did some background stamping with Real Red ink on Real Red cardstock, added a seam binding ribbon and a little tag from Tiny Tags and put it all together, quick and simple!  The design team has some really lovely samples they’ve put together too!  Check them out below, and be sure to share your CAS watercolored creations with us at the Paper Players!

Speaking of birds, I heard a racket outside my kitchen window recently, and two red-bellied woodpeckers were fighting at my feeder!  I snagged this photo of the victor (sorry it’s not clearer, it was through the screen!):

Isn’t he a beaut?  And my own little nature lover, feeling MUCH better, and playing outside:

Welcome Baby Boy

DSCF9321
Happy Friday, peeps!  Looking forward to the weekend!  We had a wonderful event this week; my nephew and his wife had their first baby, a little boy, which made my sister Joyce a GRANNY!  (And me a great-aunt!!!!)  Woohoo!  Everyone is doing fine!  I can’t wait to see him myself!
Joyce & Jameson
So of course, I had to make a card; not too many frills and doodads for this little guy, but I have always loved this image from Cornish Heritage Farms and am always happy to use it:
LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Baby Boy Congrats
and I used the sketch from the RetroSketches for this week:
I used some scraps from my DSP scrap pile and did a bit of embossing on the white panel.  I used the sentiment from the photopolymer set Guy Greetings because it fit perfectly across the banner:
DSCF9319
A little bit of twine, and it was done!
Cassidy got a little stomach bug yesterday; she is so rarely sick, it was quite unusual, and between bouts she was absolutely fine!  I am hoping it was just a 24-hour bug, and hoping WE don’t get it either!  The day before, we were outside and she discovered a worm in my flower bed!  (He’s covered in dirt!)
DSCF9263
John told her to take it down to the garden, it would be happier there:

So that’s what she did…he’s got a new home now, unless a robin spotted him first!

Enjoy your day!

CAS Butterfly Work of Art

DSCF9316-001

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Poppin’ in with a quick card today for three challenges!  I guess I have butterflies on the brain, because I used one yesterday as well!  I am keeping my fingers crossed that the Butterfly Framelits will truly be available tomorrow!  We’ll see!

My challenges today are the Color Throwdown #338:

The Can You Case It #65 clean and simple, two layer challenge:

CYCI#65

and the Retro Rubber brad challenge:

RRBC12

I have been neglecting my top stampers in my WeeInklings downline, so I went to work and actually made four of these in a short time:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Butterfly Work of Art Stampin Up

Technically, I only used one brad, so I hope that counts, but regardless, I had a great time making these and my daughter even said she liked them a lot!  I stamped off some Gorgeous Grunge spatters in Lost Lagoon,Old Olive and Sahara Sand and made a Crumb Cake banner as a base for my butterfly, which was diecut from a Backgrounds Lost Lagoon DSP.  So my brad wouldn’t show on the inside, I cut off the brad’s legs and used glue dots to adhere them.  I also rounded one side of the card with a circle punch.  Finally, since all my downline are fabulous, I used this sentiment from Work of Art:

DSCF9317

Hope they like it!

I’ve been making graduation announcements and had a spool of gold sequins on my (messy) craft counter.  Cassidy just couldn’t help herself; she had to play with them, and they became Rapunzel’s hair:

DSCF9249

And yes, her hair is quite long…..all the way to the floor and then some!  Here is the prince, climbing up her hair:

I’ll spare you the mushy love scene, but this is what it looked like by the time she was done playing:

What an imagination!!!  Enjoy your day!

CQC287 and Muse

DSCF9233

Happy Wednesday, all!  Hope your week is going well!  I needed a really fast sympathy card, and the ColourQ challenge colors were perfect:

I also found a new-to-me challenge, the Muse Card Club, and they also have a monochromatic challenge; you can see it here. Michele’s sample is just beautiful in blue, but I wanted to use the softer hue of Blush Blossom for my notecard:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Blooming with Kindness Sympathy Stampin Up

I knew I could use the Basic Gray for the sentiment, but wasn’t sure how to incorporation the black, so I added a simple grosgrain ribbon and stamped the butterfly from Papillon Potpourri in black Stazon ink, colored it with my marker and popped it up:

DSCF9230

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I have a Christmas card today---haven’t done the Merry Monday challenge for a while, and Nina’s vintage theme was too good to pass up!

I also incorporated Baker’s Twine, Chipboard and Embossing into my card for the Kraft Journal’s Take Your Pick challenge:

and I used the Mojo Monday sketch:

So here we go:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Vintage Santa Chipboard Christmas

Very little stamping here; I used some scraps of DSP; a chipboard element featuring a 1950s vintage Santa from Bo Bunny:

DSCF9232

and some baker’s twine from my stash along with some Tim Holtz stickers atop an embossed panel:

DSCF9231

I did stamp a few white snowflakes on the Crumb Cake background and added a glittery swirl just for fun!  Hope you enjoy it!

We took a nice little walk on Sunday, enjoying the warmer weather without the wind!
