TSOT302

Hi peeps!  It's time for another Try Stampin on Tuesday sketch...I love things in threes:

I just got some new Close to my Heart stamps and thought I could use them with this sketch...thinking a little outside the box!  Here we go:

I stamped the silhouettes and trees on some City Sidewalks (CTMH) paper, then mounted it on a panel of Lost Lagoon and trimmed with some beautiful SU ribbon.

The sentiment is from an older Whippersnapper set (Winter Schminter) and I mounted everything on a Baja Breeze card that was embossed with a snowflake embossing folder from Darice:

I also added a few tiny little glimmer paper snowflakes cut with a Martha Stewart punch!  And the inside was stamped with a sentiment from Papertrey's O Holy Night:

This is such a cute little set!  I am sure you can find something to stamp in "threes"....share it with us on the TSOT blog, or even on our Facebook page!  Thanks for popping in!

Yesterday, Dana's half-brother Kevin and his girlfriend Kristy stopped by for their annual visit as they made their way from Florida to New Jersey!  Cassidy is still a little shy around him....she warms up about the time they have to leave, LOL!

Have a blessed day!

Oh, Christmas Tree!

Happy Monday, peeps!  The ole blog was a wee bit quiet over the weekend...lots of stuff going on!  I attended a cookie exchange on Saturday--delayed because of snow and sleet--but we made it in the end, and it was wonderful!  So fun to sample others' baked delights and come home with some new homemade goodies!  Unfortunately, the weather has been so cold, I haven't been able to walk outside to work off the calories!  Yesterday I did have time to stamp another Christmas card...actually a thank you card, using some Stamplorations stamps, and I think it's CAS enough to qualify for their December challenge:

Sherry's designs are delightful and she really takes a personal interest in all the orders!  I love this little tree from Oh Christmas Tree, and it comes with cute sentiments too:

I used some papers from Recollections' City Sidewalks line; stamped my tree in a combination of Garden Green and Emerald Envy, trying to match the green in the papers, then added some sequins for some simple glitz:

The background paper was more a pinky-red than true red, so I stamped my sentiment in Strawberry Slush and hand-cut it out.  And it's in the mail, on its way to its recipient!

Cassidy and Dana did some baking at Dana's boyfriend's house:

Wayne got into the act, sharing his artistic culinary talents as well!  Thanks for popping by today!

FMS267 Silent Night

Happy Friday, peeps!  Still making Christmas cards....I keep finding people that I missed, if you know what I mean, LOL!  I whipped up this card yesterday morning before my Bible study to give to my leader...it uses the FMS sketch from Jen:

So here we go:

I had been toying around with this idea in my head for a couple of days; I still had my Sugar Pea Designs Nativity die on my desk, so I cut it out in white, then trimmed it with a square Stitched Shapes die.  I cut out another square from Dapper Denim and stamped some speckles (Jar of Cheer) for "stars" in Craft White ink.  I then layered them together, creating a rectangle! The retired Jingle All the Way supplied the sentiment of "silent night".  I added a little glimmer paper scallop at the bottom and a star at the top:

And I finished it off on the inside with this sentiment from Papertrey's O Holy Night:

Thanks for popping in today!

Scandinavian Christmas

Hi peeps!  Brrrr....it's really, really cold here today!  Staying inside as much as I can!  I made this card for our pastor and his wife; she is of Scandinavian descent and loves Christmas things in red and white, so I made this for their Christmas card:

I embossed the white panel with a Tim Holtz EF called Deer Knit, and used the same EF to emboss just a section of it in Real Red, then layered and adhered them together.  The wreath (retired SU Northern Hearts) was stamped in Real Red, mounted on a Stitched Rectangle die (Lil'Inkers) and since the top panel was a little short, I added a scallop of Dazzling Diamonds at the bottom, although the shimmer doesn't really show here!  My final touch was some Cherry Cobbler ribbon and some pearls:

The sentiment is from Verve (Joyous Noel).  I think this is very clean and crisp!!  Thanks for popping in today!

Last Friday, Cassidy's Advent Calendar gift was a little stuffed reindeer:

Since it was Uncle Raymond's birthday (my brother), Mommy thought the reindeer should be named after him, Raymond the Reindeer, but Cassidy nixed that for "Frosty"!!

I imagine my brother would be relieved!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

GDP066 Little Snowman

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I am winding down my Christmas cards, but still making a few!  My printer ran out of ink, so my plan to get these out today went out the window.....a trip to Staples and I'll be set!  Anyway, the Global Design Project had a cute little sketch and I had been kicking this idea around in my head, so I tried to make it work:

This little snowman punch is an old, old SU one....I used a scrap of white cardstock on which to punch him, then cut him out with the Stitched Shapes framelits:

He is backed with some Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper and topped with a black hat!  I mounted it all on a piece of DSP from a couple of Holiday Catalogs back and a Soft Sky card base.

It's a challenge to see, but there are stars stamped behind him in Silver Encore ink (CTMH Swirling Stars Essentials) and the sentiment is from Stamplorations (Oh Christmas Tree), tied with some black and white twine.  Easy and cute!

Cassidy got another note in her Advent Calendar box from Mister Elf:

He told her to look behind the reindeer pillow on the couch (if you look closely, you can see a little something peeking out...she didn't notice it though!):

Oh boy!  Smelly markers!

Check out these scents:

For real?  CHIMNEY?????  With my cold, I cannot smell (or taste) a thing, so I still don't know what "chimney" smells like....but I am thinking it's not too appealing, LOL!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SIP78 Winter Holiday

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Time for another Stamp Ink Paper challenge....this week's it's a "winter holiday" challenge!  It doesn't have to be Christmas, although that's what I chose!!

I loved the photo for the RetroRubber challenge, as well as the CAS(E) This Sketch sketch:

RRCB 53

I recently got these Prancing Deer dies (Memory Box) and thought they would look lovely against some Carta Bella Christmas Delivery paper:

I mounted the panel on a piece of Real Red cardstock cut with a deckle edge die (Spellbinders) which I then liberally coated with glue and sprinkled on some Martha Stewart glitter:

The sentiment is from Artistic Outpost, probably at least five years old, called Midwinter!  I stamped it in Always Artichoke, as well as the inside sentiment, which is from Papertrey (O Holy Night), which I believe is from 2015:

I love the colors of this as well as the pretty layout!  I hope you'll play along with our challenge as we  begin to wind down 2016!  Be sure to stop by the SIP blog and share your creation with us as well!

Cassidy found some Snoopy and friends clings in her Advent box, so she put them on her bedroom window:

Enjoy your day!

PCC222 Scottie Christmas

Happy Monday, peeps!  We had a nice weekend....attended John's work Christmas party, went to an open house, participated in a little craft class with some neighbors, got our tree...it's not UP yet, but we got it!  Today, hopefully, we'll get it up and decorated!  I am still making Christmas cards and I was in a Scottish mood, so I snagged the Paper Craft Crew sketch for this week and went to work:

Visit the Paper Craft Crew and play along with Card Sketch 222. #pcc2016 #cardsketch www.papercraftcrew.com

These papers from Carta Bella's Christmas Delivery are some of my favorites for this year!  They matched my little Scottie (I think the name of the company is Lost Picture Stamps....they used to be on etsy) so sweetly:

The green banner is from KaiserCraft's Home for Christmas pad; the stitched mat (Lil'Inker) is cut from Old Olive.  I made a tag from an old Cuttlebug die and stamped the sentiment (Our Daily Bread Designs Mini Tag Sentiments) on it in Riding Hood Red ink, then added a candy dot and some twine:

It will be in the mail ASAP!  Thanks for popping in today!

Here are the crafts we made on Saturday....the first was my introduction to felting; we made a little felted snowman with washers, wool roving and some other craft supplies:

Every time I look at him I laugh, because his orange "carrot" nose looks more like a beak than a nose! I'll do better next time!

We also made a quick little folded star ornament.  My neighbor used this tutorial to show us how to make them:

I still need to add a gold cord to the top for hanging, but I wanted to share it, it was so pretty!  Easy, too!  I plan to make some more of these!

Enjoy your day!
