Comedians Key and Peele join the Daily Show to help determine if Sarah Palin is Racist or Not Racist. I literally have no idea which way this might go.

First part can be found here. The second part, with Key and Peele, can be found here.

I love how the minute they mention Palin's name the entire panel screams "Racist!"

And then at the end they agree that she is simply "Stupid" and "Moronic."

In our "Duh Ralph" survey of the day we learn that the ONLY group to oppose America's growing diversity are white conservatives.

Courtesy of Think Progress:

It is an undeniable fact that the United States is becoming increasingly diverse, rapidly heading toward the day when there will no longer be any clear racial or ethnic majority in the U.S. population. You might think America, with its long history of racial panics, might be freaking out.

But it turns out, according to a massive new study of public attitudes about rising diversity by CAP and PolicyLink, that’s not so. Americans are reacting amazingly well to growing diversity — with the curious exception of white conservatives.

The CAP/PolicyLink poll, conducted with the Rockefeller Foundation and Latino Decisions, finds most Americans are welcoming the nation’s future with open arms and, perhaps more importantly, minds open to new policies tailored for a more diverse country.

With the exception of white conservatives, Americans across the board support “new steps to reduce racial and ethnic inequality in America through investments in areas like education, job training, and infrastructure improvement.” More than 7 in 10 Americans—71 percent—support this new equity agenda compared to the just 27 percent who are opposed. This includes 63 percent support among all whites, with 68 percent support among white college graduates and 61 percent among white non-college graduates.

White conservatives were the only demographic group to report majority opposition to new investments to reduce racial and ethnic inequality — 51 percent total oppose these initiatives. By contrast, 54 percent of all Americans say such investments would help the economy overall, compared to the 10 percent who think they would hurt the economy. Whites are 49 percent and 11 percent, respectively, on the same question. Finally, 61 percent of Americans say they would be willing to invest “significantly more public funds to help close [the] gap in college graduation rates” between black and Latino students and white students, compared to the 36 percent who say they are not willing to make such investments. Again, while whites are lower than minorities in their support, they still endorse this proposition by a margin of 53 percent to 46 percent.

Teabaggers in the wild.
Of course the problem with the white conservative point of view is that their average age is right around fifty, and they are dying off at a dramatic rate. They are being replaced by their more open minded, more progressive, and less racist offspring who are rejecting their political points of view completely.

Which means that the America's days of being run by conservatives are numbered even if the Republicans party were NOT currently in the middle of an all out civil war.

P.S. I think this is a good place to place a link conserning the North Carolina county precinct GOP chair who was asked to resign after he made some very honest, and unfortunate (For him), remarks to Aasif Mandvi on the Daily Show.

President KILLS it at White House Correspondents Dinner! Everybody loved it! Well NOT quite everybody.

Okay now THAT was hysterical!  You can see Conan O'Brien's bit here, but for my money the President schooled him in how to do comedy.

I think my favorites were the bangs, the Steven Spielberg video, and the "book burning with Michele Bachmann."

In fact the President is getting huge props for his speech all over the internet. With one notable exception.
OMGD! Does she not realize how petty and middle school mean spirited this makes her look?

Especially since two years ago she crashed several after WHCD parties in a vain attempt to get noticed. I guess THIS year she found that she was persona non grata. (After all two years ago only a few people like Aasif Mandvi detected the smell of desperation, Methamphetamine, and Red Bull on her. But today EVERYBODY is gagged by her stank.)

But that was not enough, she also went to Facebook in what looks to be yet ANOTHER non-ghostwritten rant:

Yuk it up media and pols. While America is buried in taxes and a fight for our rights, the permanent political class in DC dresses up and has a prom to make fun of themselves. No need for that, we get the real joke.

"Yuk it up?" This is what an adolescent posts on her Facebook page in order to bitch about the girl that just stole her boyfriend away. Even by Wasilla standards this is low class.

By the way she is already being crucified for her remarks.

So I guess she can once again play the victim. Of her own stupidity and pettiness that is!

The Daily Show's Aasif Mandvi knew better than to let Sarah Palin get too close to him.

While discussing the silliness of the White House Correspondents Dinner, Aasif Mandvi had this to day:

"It’s inherently sending a bad message. The whole thing is inherently absurd," said Daily Show correspondent Aasif Mandvi, who attended Friday night's Time- and People-sponsored kickoff cocktail party nonetheless. Mandvi then recalled a particularly absurd experience he had a Correspondents' Dinner after-party two years ago, when he and pals Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifianakis found themselves in very close proximity to Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin. "Somebody asked me if I would like to get my picture taken with Sarah Palin," he said. "She was standing a few feet away. She couldn’t hear me, but [this guy] was like, 'Do you want to get your picture taken with Sarah?' And I was like, 'You know, I don’t. I really don’t.'"

Is it ANY wonder why Mandvi is one of my favorite cast members on the Daily Show?

The guy can smell bullshit, and in this case mooseshit, a mile away.

Too bad John McCain had not had his good instincts, dontcha think?

Of course Palin might have turned him down since he was of the brown persuasion and all. I mean for all she knew he could be an Arab, or a Hispanic, or worse yet, an Alaskan native. Can't allow herself to be photographed standing next one of one of those.

Unless of course he is carrying her purse that is.

You know for quite some time now my favorite Daily Show correspondent has been Aasif Mandvi, followed closely by John Oliver. But now with the addition of Olivia Munn, well now the only thing I have to say is "John Oliver and Aasif Mandvi who?"

I don't know what it is about the lovely Miss Munn?  Could it be her comic timing?  Her effortless repartee with Stewart? Or just simply the fact that she is OLIVIA MUNN?

Okay I might, just possibly, have the teensy weensiest crush on the lovely Olivia.  But trust me I will not let it impact my clear headed, logical appreciation for...OH MY GOD DID YOU SEE HOW CUTE AND FUNNY AND TALENTED SHE WAS?

Okay well that is just embarrassing.

This is almost as bad as when I had that man-crush on Stephen Colbert after he stood up and insulted President Bush and the entire Republican party at the White House Correspondent's Dinner in 2007.

While newly ordained televangelist Brit Hume continues not to proselytize, Keith Olbermann and Jon Stewart point out the obvious.

You know it seems to me that Brit Hume's understanding of Christianity is on par with his understanding of journalism.

Obviously there is a great deal of humor to be mined from the ignorance of Brit Hume, and Jon Stewart and Aasif Mandvi do not disappoint.

From the lack of compassion at town halls to Glenn Beck's burgeoning mental illness Countdown was a potpourri of frightening segments today.

First up we have the insanity of yelling at a disabled woman during a town hall focused on health care reform. I believe the sign at the entrance must have read "Leave your empathy outside before entering the hall."

What is wrong with this country?

You knew it was coming. Keith ridicules Glenn Beck and his irrational fear of New York architecture. Oh boy does Keith have fun with this one!

There were lots of other important segments today as well, including the possible loss of the public option and coverage of Teddy Kennedy's memoirs. I did not want to put ALL of them on my site today, but if you are interested I encourage you to click the title of this post to visit the Countdown homepage.
