Students at an all girls Catholic School in Maryland out their substitute teacher for his alt-right views, and participation in Charlottesville riot.

Courtesy of Fox News:

A substitute teacher and field hockey coach at an all-girls Catholic school in Maryland was fired after his "alt-right" views were discovered by students.

Gregory Conte was fired this week from the Academy of the Holy Cross in Kensington after students discovered his personal Twitter profile in which he made remarks such as “Hitler did not commit any crimes,” FOX 5 DC reported.

The Twitter account, in which Conte used the name Gregory Ritter, said he was the director of operations at the National Policy Institute, which is run by high profile white supremacist Richard Spencer. Conte's Twitter account was still active when this article was published.

The students also found footage of Conte at the deadly August white supremacist “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Va.

The school issued a statement to parents in which they claimed that Conte's views did not seem to have a negative impact on his students.

Oddly enough the school learned about Conte's troubling alter ego in October, but did not notify the parents until January.

As for Conte, he does not seem to have had his beliefs shaken in the least.
Well that's a troubling tweet.

Ohio State conceal carry advocate shot dead. I'm just going to give up trying to fix my irony meter.

Courtesy of Slate:

An Ohio State concealed carry activist was shot to death at his residence near campus early Thursday, authorities say. Tarak Underiner, 20, was an Ohio State undergraduate and the treasurer of a group called Buckeyes for Concealed Carry. He testified in favor of a "campus carry" bill at a state legislative hearing on Dec. 1, 2016.

A local TV station is reporting that police found "illegal drugs and weapons" at Underiner's residence and that his death may be drug-related.

This is your brain on drugs.

This is your brain on drugs splattered all over the wall, because somebody was carrying a concealed weapon.

Any questions?

Ohio gun shop owner shot and killed while teaching a gun safety course.

Courtesy of the Guardian:

Authorities say the owner of an Ohio gun shop who was teaching a concealed carry class was fatally shot in the neck by a student who accidentally fired a weapon.

The (Cincinnati) Enquirer reported that the shop owner, 64-year-old James Baker, was shot on Saturday while students practiced weapon malfunction drills.

The Clermont County sheriff’s office said about 10 people were taking the class at the time at KayJay Gun Shop in Monroe Township, about 25 miles south-east of Cincinnati.

Baker died at the scene. The student who fired the weapon was not immediately identified.

According to the gun shop’s website, the concealed carry class included basic pistol safety instruction, shooting range sessions and a review of Ohio gun laws.

I will assume that this student failed the course. But hey, at least he survived it.

Sorry to be so flip, but anybody who thinks that owning a gun keeps them safe does not really understand guns.

Guns end lives, they do not protect lives.

If you want to be safe you keep guns as far away from yourself and your family as possible, install some good locks on the doors and windows, if you are really concerned install an alarm system, and then to top it all off get a good dog.

There, now you infinitely safer than you would be with a gun in your house.

Sure it's a lot less macho than waving around a firearm at every bump in the night, but it is a hell of a lot better than going to jail for shooting somebody in a drunken rage or attending the funeral of a loved one who was accidentally killed by your totally inadequate safety measure.

School resource officer assaults female student in South Carolina.

Courtesy of CNN:

The officer, identified as Richland County Sheriff's Deputy Ben Fields, can be heard on cell phone video telling the girl to get up from her desk.

"You're either going to come with me, or I'm going to make you," he says.

When she remains seated, he tells her, "Come on, I'm going to get you up," before picking her up from the desk and throwing her to the floor.

As he continues to try to restrain her, she is thrown several feet across the classroom as the officer tells her repeatedly to put her hands behind her back.

Richland School District Two Superintendent Dr. Debbie Hamm said in a statement that safety is the district's "top priority," and that officials are working with the Richland County Sheriff's Department in an investigation.

"The district will not tolerate any actions that jeopardize the safety of our students," Hamm said.

Of course the officer has been removed from the school pending an investigation and supposedly the female student was not injured in the incident.

It is usually my policy to try and understand the motivation for the police in response to something like this, but I have to admit that the only motivation that I pick up while watching that video is the officer's anger at the student for not complying with his demands.

I know this is still under investigation, but I am at a loss as to how this action can be defended.

And for fuck's sake WHY was a police officer called in to remove a student from a classroom?

When did noncompliance with a teacher become a law enforcement issue?

You know I receive specialized training every year in deescalation techniques, and crisis intervention, and I can tell you that there are literally dozens of methods for gaining compliance that do NOT include throwing a child across the room.

My first take on this is that the officer is dead wrong, and that the school district needs to reevaluate their relationships with the local police department, and that the department needs to beef up their training for these resource officers.

What everybody is talking about, the Newsroom's college rape storyline.

Courtesy of The Independent:

The Newsroom has been accused of having a “women problem” before, but now Aaron Sorkin has come under fire for a rape storyline that implies male perpetrators are to be believed over female victims.

The latest episode has been criticised for its portrayal of female rape victims after TV news producer Don Keefer said he felt morally obligated to believe the man’s side of the story because he had not yet been convicted of rape.

The episode’ storyline followed a Princeton student who starts a website allowing women on campus to out their rapists after the city justice system failed to prosecute two fraternity members who she claimed raped her.

The student is tracked down by the fictional news network ACN for a debate with her alleged attacker live on air. Don had also interviewed the man she claims raped her and when she asks him who he believes, the producer says he felt obliged to take the man’s side over hers.

This received quite a lot of backlash from all corners.

Including from a writer on the show who claims her misgivings about the segment were ignored, and that she was "kicked out" of the writer's room.

Sorkin himself responds here.

Actress Olivia Munn, who plays the character Sloan Sabbith on the show, also weighed in:

“…The reality is that Sorkin writes things so that they can be talked about, and so we show both sides of it,” she said. “I think it was important to show what it’s like for women to be a rape victim, want to speak out, and then have somebody come in and say, ‘Hey don’t do that. That’s going to be bad for you.’

“Sorkin wasn’t saying ‘Don’t do that,'” Munn said. “He was saying ‘This is what happens.'”

Personally I liked the episode. Partly because it left me conflicted, and not sure whose side I should take in the exchange between the Don Keefer character and the college student.

But that to me is the mark of great television.

I don't often watch shows that make me feel all warm and cuddly inside. I watch shows that make me think, piss me off, or make me grieve for the loss of a character that I have, against my better judgement, grown attached to. (Still miss you Beth.)

I think the show did everything that I would expect it would do with such a controversial subject.

And in the light of the Rolling Stone campus rape scandal, it could not have been more timely.

Teacher briefly suspended for saying she would kill all black people if she only had 10 days to live. BRIEFLY suspended?

Courtesy of 10 On Your Side:

A teacher at Camden County High School is under investigation for allegedly making racist comments in a classroom.

“It is very disturbing,” said parent Kimberley Ashcraft.

Ashcraft told 10 On Your Side the disturbing incident happened a couple weeks ago. Her daughter told her about the conversation with math teacher Cynthia Ramsey.

“That’s when she conveyed to me that Mrs. Ramsey had indicated that if she only had 10 days to live that she would kill all black people,” Ashcraft told WAVY.com.

Ashcraft’s daughter was in Ramsey’s classroom eating lunch. Ashcraft said there were several others students around when Ramsey allegedly made the racist remarks.

“I was completely shocked,” Ashcraft said. “I asked her again, ‘are you sure that was what you heard?’ I could not have imagined a teacher saying that.”

School officials began an investigation, and even the Camden County Sheriff’s Office was called in to help. The sheriff told 10 On Your Side several of the students told the same story. Ramsey was placed on suspension with pay, and after a couple days was back in the classroom.

Look I usually am all about supporting teachers, but if this is true the teacher not only promoted racist ideas but also murder.

If I was a parent at this school I would instruct my child to stay far away from this teacher, and put quite a lot of time into trying to get her fired.

Third grader writes to lawmakers asking that they make the Wooly Mammoth the state fossil. Creationist Senator refuses to allow it unless he can put in Bible reference. However it looks like the bill will approved without such superst....oh wait.

Courtesy of the Friendly Atheist:

Earlier this year, a third grader wrote to her state representatives asking them to make the Wooly Mammoth South Carolina’s official state fossil.

After a couple of holdups, it looked like there were no objections and the bill would go through… but the version of the bill that looks like it’ll be signed into law contains a ridiculous amendment:

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Article 9, Chapter 1, Title 1 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

“Section 1-1-712A. The Columbian Mammoth, which was created on the Sixth Day with the other beasts of the field, is designated as the official State Fossil of South Carolina and must be officially referred to as the ‘Columbian Mammoth’, which was created on the Sixth Day with the other beasts of the field.”

That untrue, unscientific, twice-mentioned Creationist addition is the work of Sen. Kevin Bryant (a Republican, of course) who derailed the bill from the outset by trying to stick a full Bible passage in it. While that amendment was thrown out, this one somehow was accepted.

Gee look. Now South Carolina can now celebrate scientific discoveries while still adhering to antiquated superstitions.

It's like a retarded potpourri.

17 year old girl shot in Arapahoe High School shooting dies.

Claire Davis, once a student with her whole life ahead of her. Now the latest gun violence statistic.
Courtesy of Reuters:

A 17-year-old Colorado student shot in the head earlier this month by a gunman at her high school died on Saturday at a hospital with her family at her side, the facility and her family said.

Claire Davis was the only person wounded by gunfire when Karl Pierson, an 18-year-old senior at Arapahoe High School in suburban Denver, entered the school on December 13 and opened fire with a shotgun, police said.

"Despite the best efforts of our physicians and nursing staff, and Claire's fighting spirit, her injuries were too severe and the most advanced medical treatments could not prevent this tragic loss of life," Littleton Adventist Hospital posted on the facility's official Facebook page.

Pierson shot Davis in the face at point-blank range as she sat outside the library with a friend during in the 80-second rampage, police said.

Pierson committed suicide in the library as an armed deputy stationed at the school cornered him, police said.

The gun rights people will make the argument that it was the gun held by the security guard that saved lives, but I cannot get past the fact that it was the gun in the hands of an angry young man that put those lives in danger in the first place.

This was not the "bad guy with a gun" that "the good guys with a gun" are supposed to protect all of us from. It was a kid, going through his turbulent teenage years, who had access to a tool that gave him far more power over life or death than he was emotionally able to handle.

Armed with a bullhorn he would have shouted his frustrations.

Armed with a rock he would have broken a school window.

But armed with a gun he ended two young lives.

But the 2nd Amendment is important. Without just imagine what terrible things might befall our citizens.

Just imagine.

Disabled student emotionally scarred by people accosting her with prayers and attempts at faith healing.

Unwanted faith healing and prayer.
Courtesy of Raw Story:

A disabled 22-year-old Duke University graduate named Megan has started a blog to discuss her experiences with aggressive Christians who want to lay hands on her and pray in an effort to heal her. According to The Friendly Atheist, Megan, who has a rare connective tissue disease called epidermolysis bullosa, had heard people all her life asking, “What’s the matter with Megan?” and has named her blog “The Matter with Megan” in response.

”Having a visible disability is like shark bait for ignorant people lacking scruples,” she wrote in a blog post called “Please Don’t Pray with Me (In Airports)”. “I swear, the mere sight of crutches is like blood in the water.”

She described an incident that took place when she was 15 years old. She was at an airport waiting to board a flight when two women descended upon her family and asked her mother, “May we pray with your daughter?”

“(T)he next thing I knew I was caught in what can only be described as a quite unholy prayer sandwich,” Megan wrote. “The woman and her mother placed one hand on my back and one on my chest and right there, in the middle of the Ft. Lauderdale airport, began to feverishly pray on my body for Jesus to heal me. Between shouts of JESUS CRISTO! and HEAL HER FATHER GOD! their bodies shook violently, as if wracked by father, son, and holy ghost all at once.”

The incidents, she said, while well-meaning, have left her with “scars on me as real as the ones on my body. Rather than heal me as they intended (and you know the old maxim about good intentions), they helped break my self-esteem.”

She concluded the essay by saying that she wishes people’s good intentions could be tempered by greater amounts of “good judgment.”

“I think that’s what God probably would have preferred,” she wrote. “Heaven knows I would.”

Wow, just when you thought you had heard everything about the arrogance of faith.

The idea that these people LITERALLY believe that they can focus the power of a being that their faith tells them created everything around them with but a thought, by asking for it, is simply astoundingly ridiculous to me.

Faith healing is one of the MOST egregious scams that religion pulls on its believers, and it sets them up to question the depth of their own faith or to believe that the God that they worship has turned his back on them. And that his unbelievably abusive in my opinion.

I think this young woman is incredibly brave, and I have NO doubt that she speaks for a number of disabled folks who are constantly subjected to this kind of unwanted, unnecessary, and unhelpful attention.

Good for her.

Best excuse to get out of school EVER!

Courtesy of the Post Bulletin:

Tyler Sullivan, a fifth-grader in Rochester, has a good reason for missing class on Friday. And an even better absence note.

Tyler went to watch his father, Ryan Sullivan, introduce President Obama before the president's speech at Honeywell in Golden Valley. When he returns to class Monday, Tyler can show his teacher a handwritten note from the president explaining where he was.

"Mr. Ackerman, please excuse Tyler. He was with me!" the president wrote on a card with the presidential seal and then signed it. KMSP-TV's Rob Olson tweeted two pictures afterward. One was a closeup of the note and one was of a smiling Tyler with his nifty souvenir.

Now THAT is the BEST note to excuse a missed day of school that you could possibly have.

Unless of course you lived in Texas.  Or Alaska.

NO, NO, NO, NO!!!

Mike Guzman and thousands of other students say the best way to prevent campus bloodshed is more guns.

Guzman, an economics major at Texas State University-San Marcos, is among 8,000 students nationwide who have joined the nonpartisan Students for Concealed Carry on Campus, arguing that students and faculty already licensed to carry concealed weapons should be allowed to pack heat along with their textbooks.

"It's the basic right of self defense," said Guzman, a 23-year-old former Marine. "Here on campus, we don't have that right, that right of self defense."

Many states forbid license-holders from carrying weapons on school campuses, while in states where the decision is left to the universities, schools almost always prohibit it. Utah is the only state that expressly allows students to carry concealed weapons on campus.

College campuses are different from other public places where concealed weapons are allowed. Thousands of young adults are living in close quarters, facing heavy academic and social pressure — including experimenting with drugs and alcohol — in their first years away from home.

This is an idea that is so ludicrous that I cannot even believe it needs to be addressed.

Allowing hormonal, overly stressed, young people who may be experimenting with alcohol or drugs for the first time without any parental supervision close by, to carry hand guns is so stupid it makes my head throb!

What kind of complete simpleton believes, even for an instant, that allowing MORE kids to carry weapons on campus is going to REDUCE the incidence of gun violence?

That is like suggesting that handing out bags of candy to elementary school students will reduce the amount of hyperactivity in the classroom. It is an idea that would only occur to somebody whose head was so far up their ass they could watch their food digest.

I hate these pro-gun assholes who believe that the solution to all violence is to arm everybody. They are an embarrassment to those of us who have evolved past the need to prove our manhood by carrying a device whose sole purpose is to end the life of another person.

Look I am sorry your penis is so small, but carrying a gun will not make you any more manly. Try surgery.

Revisting one of The Immoral Minority's most covered topics, the female teacher/male student sexcapade. Here is the updated list of miscreants.

I have not posted about this for awhile as it just seemed to have become almost a non-story.

I guess I will never stop being amazed that these professionals throw away their careers and families for the opportunity to have clumsy sex with an adolescent.

It just leaves me slack jawed.

Never give your hot female teacher your cell phone number or she might send semi-nude pictures of herself to you. Wait what?

Former Center eighth-grade teacher Janet Susan Gallager Parker, 26, surrendered to Shelby County authorities Wednesday, after school officials discovered photographs of the woman, partially-nude and draped in a rebel flag, on a student's cell phone. Those photos eventually led to 23 warrants for her arrest on charges ranging from sexual performance and sexual assault of a child and possession of child pornography.

Parker had been suspected of having an inappropriate relationship with a student while she was employed at Center ISD teaching technology applications and graphic arts. However, no proof could be established at that time, according to a press release.

In my day we did not have our own cell phones. Actually nobody did.

We also did not have teachers who were willing to send nude pictures of themselves to us.

Yes, in case you were wondering, my grapes are indeed sour.

And you hot teacher loving kids better stay off my lawn if you know what is good for you!

Female teacher having sex with male student. We have seen it before but thankfully it never gets old. Okay it might be getting a little old.

Chesapeake police have charged a teacher at King's Fork High School with having sex with a 17-year-old student.

It sort of gives the President's No Child Left Behind program a whole new meaning.

Todays hot teacher having sex with student story comes from Australia. Those Aussies are naughty!

Judge Lance Pilgrim sentenced Diana Nicole Bennett this morning after she pleaded guilty in the County Court to one count of sexual penetration of a child under the age of 16, a charge that carries a maximum jail term of 10 years.

Bennett, a volunteer worker, went to the boy's house in January 2005 dressed in underwear and a cardigan after he had telephoned her at home one morning and invited her to his house.

They had been friends for about six months and that the boy had earlier promised to give her a kiss for Christmas.

Damn these kids have some huge balls on them! I just cannot get over how many of these adolescent Lothario's have the nerve to try and bed their teachers.

I thought I was a stud for nailing the cheerleader. Man have things changed!

Semi-hot female teacher has sex with male student, in a van, in front of a church. I will save her a seat in hell.

School officials placed a Jackson Middle School teacher on paid administrative leave on Tuesday after she was found in a van with a 16-year-old student.

Janet Lea Hughes, 32, of Viera, was arrested Monday night after two undercover Titusville police officers found her with a student in a van parked at First Presbyterian Church.

I think that Ms. Hughes should have taken a moment to look in a mirror, then maybe she would have realized that she is too old to be having sex in a van. It is just unseemly. Not to mention the teenager!

Another teacher throws her career away in pursuit of some adolescent DNA gathering.

Rebecca Kelley, 24, appeared in justice court with her attorney Stephen Weiss Friday. She pleaded not guilty to 4 counts of sexual conduct with a minor.

The incident allegedly took place throughout January of this year."There's no question that it was consensual," says Weiss. "No question at all. Consent doesn't make any difference. If it is consensual it's still a crime under that statute."

"I feel sorry for her," says Reverend Fred Tillotson, head of Salpointe High School. "I feel sorry for her because here was a young lady who had potential as a teacher. We've hired her because she was a good English teacher, and the kids did well with her. Probably this will ruin her career."

Court records indicate that "biological evidence" taken from her home during a recent search includes "samples" from a love seat, from a couch and a rug in a living room, and samples from a bedroom floor and a mattress in a bedroom.

Kelley provided a DNA sample in the form of cells from inside her cheeks, according to those records.

It must be extremely hard to stick to that abstinence thing with such a hot teacher groping your goodies. Even in a Catholic High School.
