Mitch McConnell reveals what he was thinking right after the Republican health care bill crashed and burned in the Senate.

Courtesy of WPL:

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell made a surprise appearance at a Republican event Saturday morning ahead of the Fancy Farm picnic this afternoon.

McConnell initially expected to be absent because he had delayed the Senate’s August recess in order to pass a bill to repeal Obamacare. But U.S. senators and representatives headed home after the effort’s failure last week.

“I choose not to dwell on situations where we come up a little bit short,” McConnell told a crowd of Republicans at Graves County High School.

“Even on the night when we came up one vote short of our dream to repeal and replace Obamacare, here’s the first thing I thought about: feel better, Hillary Clinton could be president.”

Jesus Christ!

Currently in office we have a desperately unqualified psychopath who seems determined to destroy the country, as well was the Republican party, and this asshole's hatred of Hillary Clinton is so intense that he still feels the election turned out for the best.

I can tell you one thing.

If Hillary HAD won the rest of the world would not currently be thinking that we had all lost our damn minds.

John McCain victoriously returns from fighting cancer to help steal healthcare away from millions of Americans.

I'll bet you thought I would do the right thing. Sucker!
Courtesy of CNN:

Senate Republicans voted to advance to floor debate on their efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare.

Vice President Mike Pence cast the tiebreaking vote.

In a dramatic moment, Sen. John McCain returned from Arizona to applause from fellow senators. He cast a necessary Republican vote for the motion after two GOP senators -- Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski -- sided with all Democrats in opposition.

As the vote began, protesters in the Senate gallery shouted "kill the bill" and "shame, shame, shame!"

The vote came as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and President Donald Trump dared their fellow Republicans to block their seven-year campaign promise to repeal and replace Obamacare.

You might have hoped that having this fresh new cancer diagnosis would have helped John McCain find his humanity, but apparently any ethics or morals he may once have possessed are now gone forever.

John McCain has essentially been dead to me since he plucked that lunatic from the wilds of Wasilla, Alaska and inflicted her on the American people.

There is simply no coming back from a fuck up that bad.

I will say I felt a little tinge of pride that my Senator Lisa Murkowski refused to help push this death sentence for millions of Americans forward. She has let me down time and time again, but at least this time, for whatever reason, she did the right thing.

It should be noted that this is not yet a done deal, it is only a vote to advance this to a floor debate so there is still plenty of time for opponents to make their case and for the American people to flood the phone lines of these Republican assholes and make them feel our rage over a bill that will cost 22 million more Americans there health care coverage.

If I were a betting man I would bet that this thing will die, but in a world where up is down, black is white, and facts no longer matter, it is hard to have confidence in much of anything.

So how do we know that the Russians did not change vote tallies in the 2016 election? We don't.

The Actind DHS Undersecretary also had this to add:

Acting DHS Undersecretary Jeanette Manfra confirmed in a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing what has been previously reported: that Russian operatives tried to interfere with the U.S. electoral infrastructure itself.

“We have evidence of election-related systems in 21 states that were targeted,” Manfra testified, declining to disclose which specific states were targeted.

Manfra also said she would not share which states had data “exfiltrated” from their voting systems in an open hearing.

You know we keep learning that the Russian cyber attacks were more widespread and consequential than previously reported almost every week.

I keep waiting for the day that it is finally reported that "Yes, the Russians stole the election and made Donald Trump the president."

However perhaps the reason we have not yet heard that statement is because DHS has not bothered to really look into it.

Courtesy of The Daily Beast:

Despite assurances from the U.S. intelligence community that Russian hacking only influenced the 2016 U.S. election—and didn’t change vote tallies—there was never actually a formal federal audit of those systems, the Department of Homeland Security said.

And while DHS offered free security scans to any state that wanted them, many states—even ones that took up the DHS offer, like Michigan and Maine—either use audit procedures that are considered inadequate or don’t audit their election results at all.

“I think there’s a presumption amongst both the general public and lawmakers that DHS did some sort of investigation,” said Susan Greenhalgh, who serves as Elections Specialist at Verified Voting, a nonprofit devoted to U.S. election integrity.

“It didn’t happen. That doesn’t mean that something happened, but it also means it wasn’t investigated.”

The article goes on to say that not only has DHS not done an intensive audit to determine if any election tallies were tampered with, it may not even be able to do that.

So again, WHY exactly are we so convinced that the Russians did not change the vote tallies in order to get Donald Trump elected?

Holy Shit You've Got to Vote. (NSFW, duh.)

I agree with everything in this song.

It's election day! And here is just another reminder as to why it is so damn important that you participate.

This is a Donald Trump supporter seen at a rally in Minnesota.

And his candidate is a guy who has absolutely NO respect for the First Amendment, and would like to treat our journalists just like his pal Vladimir Putin treats them in Russia.

And these are the people who will see nothing wrong with that.

THEY must not prevail!

First Day of Early Voting in Alaska!

Well you know what I'M doing this morning.

I am going to stop by 2525 Gambell St. Suite 100 in Anchorage this morning on the way to my workout, to cast my vote for Hillary Clinton as well as all of the Democrats down ballot.

I have been looking forward to this day for over a year now, and it will feel really great to finally get a chance to do my small part for the good of the country.

Remember voting fraud may be a figment of the Republican's imagination, but voter suppression is a real and present danger to our democracy, so if you have the opportunity to vote early take it and send a message that NOBODY takes away your right to participate in our democracy.

Who knows, perhaps if enough progressives get out and vote in red states like Alaska, Texas, and Georgia we might be able to hand our first female President the largest electoral map victory in decades.

And wouldn't it be great to see Donald Trump trying to accept a defeat of that magnitude?

Donald Trump tells his supporters to make sure to vote on November 28th.

Now I would like to remind Trump supporters that the liberal mainstream media lies, and that the only truth that they should recognize is the truth according to Donald Trump.

So if they read that the actual date of the election is November the 8th, they simply need to discount that and chalk it up to liberal dirty tricks.

Al Gore, campaigning for Hillary Clinton, reminds millennials of the importance of one vote.

Courtesy of Politico:

Campaigning with Hillary Clinton in Miami, Gore highlighted two messages he wanted to share with the former secretary of state’s supporters.

“No. 1, when it comes to the most urgent issue facing our country and the world, the choice in this election is extremely clear. Hillary Clinton will make solving the climate crisis a top national priority,” Gore said. “Very important.”

Donald Trump, whom Gore referred to as “her opponent,” would take America “toward a climate catastrophe,” he said.

“Here’s my second message: Your vote really, really, really counts — a lot. You can consider me as an exhibit A of that group. Now, for those of you who are younger than 25, you might not remember the election of 2000 and what happened here in Florida and across the country,” Gore said, prompting boos from the crowd.

“For those of you older than 25, I heard you murmuring just now. But take it from me, it was a very close election,” Gore said, as supporters began to chant “You won! You won!”

I was watching this on TV yesterday and I am not ashamed to admit to the wave of emotion I felt when the crowd started chanting "You won!"

In fact I even tweeted about it.
I reference the 2000 election fairly frequently here on IM.

And the reason is that it was when I really had my political awakening.

I was not necessarily the biggest fan of Al Gore back then, but it was clear to me that he was a vastly superior choice than George W. Bush, and when he had the elections stolen from him  I was apoplectic.

And then everything that happened afterward kept pouring salt in to that wound.

To this day it is why I cannot stand third party candidates and have no patience for idiots who "vote their conscience."

When there are only two viable choices you man up (I would say "woman up" but you ladies really seem to have your shit together this election cycle.) and make the best choice for the country.

THAT is how you keep a George W. Bush out of office, and save thousands of lives, and that is how you keep a Donald Trump out of office and save the future of this country.

President Obama comes right out and says that not voting or voting for a third party candidate is a vote for Donald Trump.

Courtesy of Politico:

President Barack Obama on Wednesday warned Americans against staying at home on Election Day, saying such a move would be a boon for Donald Trump. “If you don’t vote, that’s a vote for Trump,” Obama said during an interview on “The Steve Harvey Morning Show” broadcast Wednesday.

“If you vote for a third-party candidate who’s got no chance to win, that’s a vote for Trump. So the notion somehow that, ‘Well, you know, I’m not as inspired because Barack and Michelle, they’re not on the ballot this time, and, you know, maybe we kinda take it easy’ — my legacy’s on the ballot. You know, all the work we’ve done over the last eight years is on the ballot.”

I have been saying this as well, though of course my words do not carry the same weight as the President's.

However it is inarguable that voting "your conscience" for some third party candidate that can make every promise imaginable because they know they will never be in  position to deliver on them, or  staying home to pout because your fantasy candidate is not on the ballot, essentially makes you Donald Trump's bitch.

And this is election it simply too important for people to be that ignorant or that selfish.

The First Lady, is coming out strong on behalf of Hillary, kind of puts things into perspective:

First Lady Michelle Obama tore into Donald Trump Wednesday, telling Hillary Clinton supporters, "We need an adult in the White House."

"When making life-or-death, war-or-peace decisions, a president can't just pop off or lash out irrationally," she said on behalf of the Democratic presidential nominee at La Salle University in Philadelphia. "We need an adult in the White House. I guarantee you."

Obama criticized Trump over his spreading of the birther conspiracy theory, continuing a rebuke she first made earlier this month while stumping for Clinton in Virginia.

"There are those who questioned and continue to question for the past eight years whether my husband was even born in this country," Obama said to boos. "And let me say: hurtful, deceitful questions deliberately designed to undermine his presidency. Questions that cannot be blamed on others or swept under the rug by an insincere sentence uttered at a press conference."

"So if a candidate is erratic and threatening, if a candidate traffics in prejudice, fear and lies on the campaign trail, if a candidate thinks that not paying taxes makes you smart or that it's good business when people lose their homes, if a candidate regularly and flippantly makes cruel and insulting comments about women -- about how we look, how we act -- well, sadly, that's who that candidate really is," she said.

Yeah this is not an election featuring two capable politicians with partisan disagreements, this is essentially a contest between an adult more than qualified for the job, and an infant spreading feces all over the walls whenever he does not get his way.

And if after seeing that debate on Monday people are still having trouble deciding who should be in the White House I really think they are due for a mental health check.

Simply put it is time for everybody to put on their big boy (or girl) pants and do the right thing for the future of this country.

Brexit causes 2 trillion dollar losses in stock market as millions of Brits experience "Bregret."

Courtesy of ABC News:

The Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged 611 points, or 3.39 percent, as investors reacted strongly to news that the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union. U.S. markets closed at three month lows.

Friday's sell-off marked the Dow's biggest drop in 10 months. All told, there were an estimated $2.1 trillion in losses across global markets today, according the S&P's Howard Silverblatt. There were an estimated $830 billion in losses estimated in U.S. markets today.

The Nasdaq dropped 202 points, or 4.12 percent, while the S&P 500 slid 76 points, or 3.6 percent.

U.S. crude fell 5 percent, or $2.47, to settle at $47.64, its largest one-day decline since February.

From Europe to Asia to the United States, financial markets showed panic over the so-called Brexit.

There is also news that the United Kingdom may not deserve that name for much longer.

Courtesy of the New York Times:

There has long been political jostling among the four nations that constitute the United Kingdom, but the so-called Brexit referendum has divided them in ways that mean they may not come back together again. England and Wales voted to leave the union. Scotland and Northern Ireland voted to stay. Within hours, Scottish and Irish politicians raised the possibility that their nations would leave the United Kingdom so they could remain in the European Union.

“This outcome tonight dramatically changes the political landscape here in the North of Ireland,” said Declan Kearney, the chairman of the political party Sinn Fein, which has legislators in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and has long sought their reunification. Mr. Kearney said Sinn Fein would seek a referendum to have Northern Ireland leave the United Kingdom and join Ireland, an independent country (and European Union member).

Scotland rejected a proposal to quit the United Kingdom in a referendum in 2014, in part over concerns that as an independent country, it would be unable to join the European Union and would suffer economically. On Friday, Nicola Sturgeon, the first minister of Scotland, said her party would “prepare the legislation that would be required to enable a new independence referendum to take place.”

While all of this is going on there are millions of British citizens who are hoping that the "no take backs" rule is not in effect in this case.

Courtesy of the Washington Post:

A petition calling for another referendum on whether Britain should stay in the European Union has now received at least 2.1 million signatures — a level that means it must now be debated by British politicians. It was apparently so popular that the British Parliament's website, where the petition was hosted, briefly crashed.

The hope is to somehow invalidate the Brexit vote and get things back to normal in the United Kingdom, before that moniker gets retired for good.

What the political fallout might be if they succeed in shifting this whole thing into reverse is anybody's guess, but I imagine that the country will suffer some serious political schizophrenia for quite awhile.

Let's just make sure that every Trump supporting moron is paying close attention to what is happening here, becasue if their candidate were to be elected they would likely suffer the same feelings of regret now sweeping the British Isles.

Woman gets three and a half years for running down husband with her SUV because he did not vote for Mitt Romney.

Courtesy of AZ Family:

A judge has sentenced an Arizona woman to 3 1/2 years in prison for running over her husband with an SUV because he didn't vote in the 2012 presidential election.

Thirty-one-year-old Holly Nicole Solomon, of Mesa, pleaded guilty to assault charges stemming from injuries her husband suffered days after President Barack Obama was re-elected. She was sentenced on Thursday.

Authorities say Solomon was upset about Obama's re-election and began arguing with her husband when she found out he didn't vote.

Her husband told investigators Solomon believed her family would face hardship as a result of Obama's re-election.

Police say Solomon chased her husband through a parking lot, circled him as hid behind a light pole, struck him and pinned him under the vehicle as he tried to flee.

Wow, I knew that Republicans who voted for Mitt Romney were probably a little unhinged, but this takes it to a whole new level.

However you have to admit that the woman wasn't wrong. Her family really DID face hardship after the reelection of President Obama.

94 years ago the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote was ratified. These are some of the arguments used against it.

And let me just remind you that the very same middle aged conservative white men that are today arguing against raising the minimum wage, closing the gender pay gap, and reforming immigration is the same demographic that fought so hard almost 100 years ago to nip this in the bud as well.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Now with only one Republican challenger Alaska Senator Mark Begich begins to trail in the polls. It's time to get serious folks.

Courtesy of Rasmussen Reports:

Alaska is critical to Republican hopes of taking control of the Senate, and, coming off last week’s state GOP primary, the Alaska Senate race is a near tie.

A new Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Alaska Voters shows Republican Dan Sullivan with a 47% to 45% lead over incumbent Democratic Senator Mark Begich. Three percent (3%) like some other candidate in the race, and four percent (4%) are undecided.

The Republicans are really pulling out the stops in order to get Mark's Senate seat, and the only thing that can stop them is us.

We progressive Alaskans have to turn out in huge numbers this November and keep the Koch brothers and GOP machine from making our first Democratic Senator in decades a one term wonder.

Speaking of the NRA, here is a lame Chuck Norris "Get Out the Vote" advertisement that they paid for.

Here are the ten reasons provided courtesy of AATTP:

No. 10: “You can always ignore my advice. The dinosaurs did.”

No. 9: “Because I’ll know if you don’t.”

No. 8: “You have time right now. I know, because I’m standing right behind you.”

No. 7: “It’s taken me a lifetime to earn your respect. You can earn mine by registering to vote.

No. 6: “Because I said so [pounding fists].”

No. 5: “Anyone can throw a punch. It takes a real man or woman to punch a voter registration card.”

No. 4: “Because the other guys don’t want you to. Well, I know who they are.”

No. 3: “The only thing stronger than these? [Holds up his fists] Your vote.”

No. 2: “I get asked for my autograph all the time. Now your government is asking for yours.”

No. 1: “With one hand I can crush coal into a diamond. [Makes crushing motion with one hand.] With yours you can protect your rights.”

aaaand…

No. 11: “Because Chuck Norris can have as many reasons as he wants.” Chuck Norris and the NRA want gun owners to vote.

You have to know that during the clenched fists portion of this video that old Chuckie's aged knuckles were firing of like a 21 gun salute to irrelevance.

The man is 74 years old for fuck's sake.

He may have been a bad ass in his day, but there are ten year olds that could kick his ass and take his Social Security check these days.

As always after watching Norris act like the toughest guy in the nursing home, I will cleanse my palate by watching the far more talented, and bad ass, Bruce Lee kick his ass.

I have seen that over a hundred times now. Never gets old.

Chuck Norris is now the face of the NRA's campaign to get Ammosexuals to the polls. And just when I thought I could not dislike him more.

Courtesy of Trigger the Vote:

OUR MISSION

The NRA Freedom Action Foundation's Trigger the Vote program is a national non-partisan voter registration effort to ensure gun owners across the country are registered to vote.

Apparently Chuck's goal is to get a gun into every hand, a Bible into every classroom, and a teabagging lunatic into every political office.

Prick!

Here is video of Bruce Lee kicking Chuck's ass in the final fight of Return of the Dragon. (In the end Lee breaks his neck.)

It may seem childish, but it always makes me feel better.

As vote is tallied to keep the government open, House stenographer loses it and starts yelling about Freemasons and God.

Courtesy of ABC News:

A House stenographer was pulled out of the House chamber while shouting into the microphone during Wednesday’s vote on a compromise bill to end the government shutdown and raise the debt limit.

The woman was Dianne Reidy, an official reporter with the Office of the Clerk, two sources told ABC News. She was heard shouting “the House is divided,” according to one source.

She was pulled off the rostrum by chamber security staff.

“He will not be mocked,” the woman said, according to an audio recording of the incident posted online by Public Radio International reporter Todd Zwillich. “This is not one nation under God. It never was.”

“The greatest deception here is this is not one nation under god! It never was. Had it been, it would not have been! The Constitution would not have been written by Freemasons!” she added.

The incident caused a moment of chaos in the chamber as the presiding member, Rep. Ileana Ros Lehtinen, R-Fla., repeatedly banged the gavel, trying to restore order.

Now you might think that this was a clearly unhinged woman who simply snapped under the incredible pressure that was present last night. But according to Fox and Friends, you would be wrong. Pagan!

“That is Diane Reidy,” Brian Kilmeade reported, “who went to the Speaker’s chair, as you saw and saying praise to God, Jesus Christ.”

“She went on to say something in reference to Freemasons, and also seemed to say something about a house being divided,” he continued.

“This minister just emailed,” Steve Doocy interrupted.

“It was not a mental episode,” he said, reading from the email. “What she was doing was known as an exercise of the gifts of the spirit where she was — she had brought a warning and a message from God regarding the activity, he felt, there in the House.”

“Amazingly, this religious and obviously a sweet lady gets fed up and speaks her mind, something we all have tried to do,” Doocy added while reading from another email. “She brings up our dear lord and she gets a mental evaluation? I think it should be the other way around.”

“Who knows?” Elisabeth Hasselbeck asked. “Maybe she just saw something that didn’t seem right and mounting frustrations and tensions brought it out of her.”

That's right folks. the woman was simply relaying a message from God, and what did they do in response? Have her evaluated for a mental illness.

You know that's what's wrong in this country, crazy people are being treated like crazy people instead of prophets or seers.

It is all down hill from here.

P.S. Boy that Hasselbeck is certainly fitting in well over there at Fox, don't you think? Really found her niche.

A Final Letter to Mitt Romney.

This has been forwarded to me by a number of people, as well as showing up on my own Facebook feed, and it's great so I thought I would share it with all of you. Trust me, it is well worth your time.

Courtesy of Liberals Unite:

Dear Mitt and Paul,

I wanted to clear something up for you.

I have seen the debate about what went wrong, and why you lost this election.

As a voter I want you to know that my voting against you had nothing to do with the fact that you are both rotten people.

It was not because of your crazy religions.

It had nothing to do with Eastwood’s empty chair, or the hurricane, or the liberal media telling me bad things about Bain.

I did not vote against you because I am a minority.
I did not vote against you because I live in an urban area.
I did not vote against you because of the cheese wiz in your veins or the elevators for your cars.
I did not vote against you because you are bullies and bigots.
I did not vote against you because you are rich hypocrites.

It was not because of Chris Christie, or Colin Powell, or Bill Clinton, or Anne Coulter, or Chris Mathews or Rachel Maddow or Meygn Kelly or Jon Stewart or Brian Williams, or anybody on tv.

I didn’t vote against you for any of those reasons because, I didn’t vote against anybody.

I voted for someone.
I voted for a man who brought my childhood friends home from war that they could kiss their wives and tuck their kids in at night.
I voted for a guy who loves New Jersey more than he dislikes Chris Christie.
I voted for the guy who looked in the mirrors of his daughter’s eyes, questioned himself, and changed his mind about marriage equality.
I voted for the guy who called Sandra Fluke and told her that her parents should be proud.
I voted for the guy who honors the women in his life by ensuring them trust to make their own reproductive and health choices and opportunity to work through glass ceilings with equal pay.
I voted for the guy who signed the stimulus that paid for the hearing aids that allowed me to hear my children clearly.
I voted for the guy who gave my sister the ability to buy health insurance in spite of pre existing conditions.
I voted for the guy who picked Joe Biden for a VP. Joe’s love for his country, his willingness to give of himself, his smarts and experience are top notch.
I voted for the guy who was smart enough to put a ring on Michelle Obama’s finger.

Most importantly, I voted for the guy who will continue to place America and what is right for her first.

I trust him.

When he hears a lone voice in a crowd of plenty shout, “I love you!” He shouts, “I love you back!”

See Mitt, Paul, it’s not you… It’s him.

I did not vote against you.

I voted for Barack Obama.
I voted for Joe Biden.
I voted for Michelle and Sasha and Malia.
I voted in favor of my self and my spouse and our sons and our future.
I voted in favor of the best tomorrow for America available.

You can blame polls, and weather events, and skewed electoral votes and biased media and urban minorities who supposedly want free stuff till you actually turn into the slow moving regressive elephants who represent you if you wish but no manipulating the facts.

You lost not because you are losers but because Barack is a winner.

Sincerely, Sarah Zacharias

2012 Election Night OpenThread. Updates!

Image courtesy of the Obama Diary
I am setting this up now to serve as our gathering place to share incoming information about election returns, voter fraud, and projections throughout the night.

I may also be tweeting which you can follow by clicking here.

I wish I could tell you all that I am not at all nervous, but that would be a lie.

However I will tell you that if this turns out to be a fair election, and there turns out to be minimal voter fraud, then President Obama has it in the bag. So let us hope that things go smoothly, and that any infractions are dealt with quickly and competently.

Hang on kids, there is NO way this is not going to be a bumpy ride.

Update: Gabby Giffords votes in Tucson.

Update 2: Early reports have Obama up by 3 in Ohio.

Update 3:  This should make you feel pretty good tonight, our pal Geoffrey Dunn has weighed in, and the news is good from his perspective:

Unless Republicans are able to suppress voting across the country, it is now mathematically impossible for Romney to win the election. While many polls are, indeed, close and within the statistical margin of error, the Obama dominance in the significant swing states--Nevada, New Hampshire, Colorado, Iowa, Wisconsin, Virginia and, most importantly Ohio and Pennsylvania--renders it all but statistically impossible for Romney to win the Electoral College vote. (It would be like the very best baseball team winning 150 games in a season; not gonna happen). 49 of the 50 states are virtual locks. Anyone can pick 'em. The only real toss-up is Florida, where I predict Obama wins, unless the GOP thugs in the Sunshine State suppress enough voters to pull off yet another coup there.

In other words, it's all over but the whining and finger-pointing for the Repugs. Obama wins either 303 or 332 electoral votes, depending on the outcome in Florida.

Wow! Well that is certainly some good news to hear.  Let's hope he is right.

Update 4: Oh let's all hope that these are some very disappointed one percenters by the end of the night.

Private jets were streaming into Boston’s Logan International Airport Tuesday afternoon, officials said, as Mitt Romney’s well-heeled supporters arrived for his post-election party in the Seaport District.

I would LOVE to see the looks on their over fed faces when Romney loses to our President.

Update 5: Gotta love this tweet from political correspondent Tim Dickinson.

Update 6: MSNBC calling Wisconsin, Paul Ryan's home state, for Obama! Oh that is awesome!

Ryan did not do ANYTHING for Romney in the long run except connect him to radical anti-choice Republicans and double the number of lies the campaign was able to tell in any given day.

And they knew it too!  That is why they sent him off to campaign in the sticks and kept him away from reporters for these last few weeks. The guy turned out to be a never ending source of embarrassment. And that was one area where Mitt the Twit did not really need any help.

They say that the first decision by which you can judge a presidential candidate is their choice of a running mate. And it has probably never been more true than it was in this case.

Update 7: Here is Fox contributor Dick Morris desperately clinging to his last shred of hope.

By the way Morris is the one who just recently predicted a landslide for Romney.

Oh damn, am I loving this!

Update 8: Damn things are moving fast! Dick Morris JUST changed his tune completely and told Newsmax that it is “more likely Obama will win than Romney." And I am watching a number of other conservative pundits pulling back from their previously optimistic opinions of a Romney victory as well.
Screen cap from Buzzfeed with caption that says "Sarah Palin's new hair."

Update 9: Okay I KNOW I said I would not talk about "She Who Must Not be Named" tonight, but I think we can categorize this under the heading of "Republicans freaking out over Obama victory." So I think it's allowable.

Here is Politico covering the lunatic's interview with Greta tonight:

“I’m crossing my fingers, Greta, and hoping things can turn around in the remaining hours of the evening,” she said, striking a resigned tone.

Later in the interview, Palin ran through a litany of problems that, she suggested, are associated with Obama— and expressed disbelief that voters would go down that path.

“I just cannot believe, though, that the majority of Americans would believe that incurring more debt is good for our economy, for our children’s futures, for job creators,” she said. “I cannot believe that the majority of Americans would believe it’s OK not to follow the Constitution and not have a budget. And I can’t believe the majority of Americans say it’s OK to rely on foreign sources of energy instead of drilling and mining our own resources.

“It’s a perplexing time for many of us right now, if things continue in this trend that we have seen earlier tonight,” she added.

Oh yeah! Now THAT'S entertainment!

You have to admit THAT was worth me breaking my word just a little. Right?

Update 10: Obama projected to win Ohio! Obama wins Ohio!

And that my friends is the election!

Obama just won four more years!

We did it!
