Holy crap! Mercede Johnston's latest post demonstrates why she might be the bravest person in Wasilla.

In Sadie's post this morning she discusses the circumstances surrounding the arrest of her mother, and exactly how the informant first contacted her, and what he said to convince her to break the law.

If you have ever wondered how a seemingly nice person like Sherry Johnston got caught up in a drug sting, this will tell you all you need to know.

And if you are one of those people who just nonchalantly refer to Levi and Mercede's mother as a drug addict or a felon this will go a long way toward opening your eyes.

I am less than happy that Sadie openly identifies the creep who set up her mom, because I worry about their safety, but I can't blame her for wanting to set the record straight and clear her mother's name.

Just for context, here is the story I first heard concerning how Sherry Johnston was arrested way back in June of 2009.  My source was NOT the Johnstons but it is clear that my information was pretty solid.

Rush Limbaugh talks to reporters after the power emanating from the birthplace of "The One" heals his hateful little heart. Or something like that.

A couple of things about this news conference that just don't seem right.

First of all I am not convinced that is in fact Rush Limbaugh. He almost seems reasonable and that does not seem at all like the Rush that I know and loathe.

Second this "Rush Limbaugh" guy says that he was "treated to the BEST health care the world has to offer" and then claims that Hawaii is part of the United States of America which all true followers of his program, and other teabaggers, know is false. As they well know, Hawaii is NOT part of America but rather so close to Kenya that it very difficult to tell exactly which infants might have been born in which country.

What's more the children born in "Kenawaii" grow up to be socialist, Marxist, fascists, and how can THOSE people possible know how to care for real red blooded Americans? Like I said, this entire news conference seems a little hinky to me.

I also like how Rush makes the claim that he did not receive any kind of special treatment and that ANYBODY would have received the same top notch medical care that he received. Which of course is true if they also arrived by limousine, and had a Chief of Staff throwing fistfuls of cash at the doctor's while pleading "Please save Big Daddy! He is my whole world!"

No seriously, Rush is correct that anybody can receive the best of care in American hospitals. What he fails to understand, or at least pretends not to understand, is that the same care that he just received would bankrupt the average American who did not have access to his top of the line medical insurance. Sure we would have our life saved, but then we would have to spend the rest of it in servitude to bill collectors demanding payment for tens of thousands of dollars in medical treatment.

By the way as he is thanking the doctor standing next to him, does anybody else read her expression as thinking "If only I could have found a loophole in that whole Hippocratic Oath thing"? Or is that just me?

Does this make sense to anybody?

Sherry Johnston, mother of Levi Johnston -- Bristol Palin's former finace -- today pleaded guilty to one count of possessing OxyContin with intent to deliver. Palmer Superior Court Judge Eric Smith sentenced her to five years, with two suspended and three to serve.

A bail request was denied and Johnston was remanded immediately to Hiland Mountain Correctional Center to begin serving her sentence.

Five other counts were dropped under a plea agreement reached with the state.

I don't like this. This stinks to high heaven.

No way did this lady deserve such a harsh sentence.

Mother of two, first time offense, severe medical problems, where is the compassion? And WHO pushed for such a harsh punishment?

Any guesses?

She is scheduled to be sentenced in November. The plea deal calls for her to be sentenced to five years in prison, with two years suspended. Her attorney, Rex Butler, said the deal includes a three years of probation after prison.

"That's pretty," Johnston said as a court officer placed pink handcuffs -- a gift from an Arizona sheriff -- around her wrists. Court officers can use their own handcuffs, and the pink ones are a trademark of Sheriff Joe Arpaio in Phoenix's Maricopa County, along with the pink boxer shorts he issues to jail inmates.

WTF is with the pink handcuffs? Are they really from that asshole Joe Arpaio? And why would anybody allow such a degrading thing to be placed on this woman? I am getting more and more pissed off the more I read about this.

Update 3: I just got a tip. Things may not be a dire as we first believed. Stay tuned.

Levi Johnston's mother's bust was "Oxycontin-related".

Wasilla resident Sherry L. Johnston, mother of Bristol Palin's boyfriend, faces a Jan. 6 court date for an oxycontin-related arrest at her home by Alaska State Troopers.

Little additional information was available Friday on the case as authorities remained unusually tight-lipped about details. But Palmer court records listed her scheduled court date and a troopers spokeswoman said in a release late Friday afternoon that the charges "are in relation to the drug oxycontin."

She was arrested around noon Thursday by troopers serving a search warrant in an undercover drug investigation. A standard press release issued by troopers said Johnston was arrested on six felony counts: second-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance -- generally manufacturing or delivering drugs -- as well as fourth-degree misconduct involving controlled substances, or possession.

She was released on bail Thursday afternoon, just a few hours later.

Johnston has not responded to phone messages or requests for comment left at the family home off Wasilla-Fishhook Road. Nobody answered the door there Friday.

Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters wouldn't say Friday if there were other potential defendants involved.

Well I am very interested to learn if "there were other potential defendants involved". Especially if some of those other defendants are related to Sarah Palin in some way.

I certainly hope that Bristol has not been sampling Ms. Johnson's wares while she has been pregnant with the child that she is due to deliver sometime tomorrow. And if she has done so in the past I think we may have just stumbled across another clue to explain the Trig Palin birth story.

If Sherry Johnston has been dealing this substance to teenagers she is looking at very a stiff sentence indeed. And for for that tough sentence Sherry can thank her very good friend Sarah Palin who in June of this year allowed a bill to become law that tracks prescription drugs sales to establish a "controlled substance prescription database" to allow doctors, pharmacists, the police and others to stem the flow of narcotics to people who don't medically need them.

With this new database in place the police will be able to track who prescribed the drug, who purchased the drug, and if there was any abuse of the system. I think that we can pretty much assume that they found just such an abuse.

I am beginning to think that Sarah Palin knows far more about this situtation then she wants to let on. How could she not?
