Just what the world needs, another Palin.

welcome to the world Atlee Bay 🎀💕

A post shared by Bristol Meyer (@bsmp2) on

"Atlee Bay Meyer?" Why don't they just send this kid to school with a "Kick Me" sign on her back?

Apparently Dakota Meyer is competing with his wife for who can be the worst parent imaginable.

Courtesy of Meyer's Facebook page:

Carrying has always been important to me for my own safety but now it is imperative because now I have someone relying on me. Every day, everywhere I go, every time I carry and am honored to be using the Blood Stripe holster from G-Code Holsters

Seriously what in the fuck?

You know I raised my daughter in Alaska, and I have lived here my entire life.

I cannot imagine what dangers Dakota Meyers feels he will face that would justify having a gun near his child every time he spends time with her.

We have harsh elements, icy roads, the same sharp cornered furniture and household poisons that every other place might have, airborne viruses, toxic plants, etc., but none of those dangers are minimized by the presence of a weapon.

All Dakota is doing is introducing an added danger, not protecting her from an already existing one.

Here I was hoping that the above incident was a one time thing, only to learn that Dakota Meyer thinks that handguns and babies go together like PB & J.

And for the final time carrying a gun everywhere you go does NOT indicate what a bad ass you are. It indicates what a coward you are in that you feel helpless without a weapon strapped to your hip.

There are women all over the world caring for their children completely unarmed. Apparently all of them are significantly more courageous than this Medal of Honor recipient.

Bristol shows off Sailor Grace Palin to the world.

Courtesy of Bristol's Instagram page:

so in love

Like I think most everybody else on the planet I love babies.

So when commenting keep in mind that this is at least one example of a truly innocent member of the Palin family.

Gay couples may soon be able to have biological children with their partners. Religious conservative heads to explode in 3..2..1

Source
Courtesy of the Mirror:

Gay couples could one day have their own biological children carrying traits from both parents, according to new research.

A reproductive technique yet to be tried on humans would be able to use sperm from two fathers, or eggs from two mothers, to create offspring related to them both.

Such a breakthrough could even lead to 'multiplex parenting' with groups of more than two, or children created by just one parent.

So much for the argument that God determines when life begins.

As the father of a gay child, this makes me very hopeful.

It also kind of makes me wonder just how much longer it will be before science completely does away with sickness and death? And then what becomes of us once it does?

Pro-life Jeb Bush: "Hell yeah" I'd kill baby Hitler.

Courtesy of The Hill:

Former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-Fla.) said in an interview Monday that he would personally kill an infant Adolf Hitler.

“Hell yeah, I would!” he told The Huffington Post when asked about killing the Nazi leader as a baby.

“You gotta step up, man,” the 2016 GOP presidential candidate said. "That would be key."

“The problem with going back in history and doing that, as we know from the series -- what’s the series with Michael J. Fox called? The ‘Back to the Future’ series -- is that it could have a dangerous effect on everything else,” Bush added. "But I’d do it. I mean -- [it is] Hitler.”

Actually he is not technically "Hitler."

I mean yes his last name would still be Hitler but he would not yet have gone through the life experiences that ultimately made him a monster.

Killing a baby because you know he will be a mass murderer someday may seem like a no-brainer, but if you consider what that would mean about you as a person it should give you pause.

I mean taking a life to protect the life of others is a difficulty decision on its own, but killing a baby because you believe it may someday cause great misery and loss of life, well that it another thing altogether.

Besides let's fact it. Jeb! is a Bush.

The Bush family does not do their own dirty work.

If anything Jeb?%$! would more than likely delegate the job to somebody else.

Probably Dick Cheney. Somehow I have NO doubt that HE could crush a baby's skull without losing one damn night of sleep over it.

So what do YOU think I should do with it?

I mean I have some ideas but I'm not sure how many of them are viable or even worth my time.

Oh wait, some of you might be a little lost.

Go below the fold if you are confused.

I think that this picture sums up my feelings about religion perfectly.

Bristol Palin posts revealing picture on Facebook. Perhaps a little TOO revealing. Update!

Ah the sunshine, the beautiful blue water, the cesarean scar.

Wait, what?

Okay am I crazy, or does that look like a scar?

I checked and Tripp was born vaginally, and nobody seems to think that Bristol had her appendix taken out, so is this proof that Bristol has one or more children than she is letting on about?

I could be wrong, but if I am just let me know.

If not then I think Levi's case just got a little bit better.

Update: Oops. did I forget to include a link to Bristol's Facebook page?

Here you go.

President Obama reveals his favorite perk for being President of the United States.

Courtesy of HuffPo:

President Barack Obama revealed what he loves most about being president while speaking at the White House Summit on Working Families Monday.

"It's true, Air Force One's on the list," Obama said as the crowd laughed. "The Truman balcony is a really nice view."

But Obama said even those perks aren't the best part of holding the nation's top office.

"One of the best perks about being president is almost anyone will hand you their baby," Obama joked before imitating handing off a baby and saying, "Here!"

"I get this baby fix like, two or three times a week," Obama said before reflecting on spending time with his own daughters during their infancies. (Here is the video.)

Man I am right there with the President on this one.

There is very little as wonderful as holding a baby, and the idea that he is handed babies to hold several times a week kind of makes me a little jealous.

Once many years ago I worked for a facility that had children of all ages in it, and as a joke the director had me work in the room with the babies for the afternoon, assuming that the big bad bodybuilder would be too macho to feel comfortable in there.

Still one of the best days at work I ever had.

By the way I think this story gives me an excuse to post this video. Still one of my favorites.

Irish priest says we cannot judge the nuns who dumped the bodies of almost 800 children and babies because it happened in the past.

I am sure that you all remember the story I posted Thursday about The home for unwed mothers, run by the Bon Secours Sisters that was found to have dumped just under a thousand infants and children into a mass grave next to their septic system as if they were nothing more than human waste.

Well as it turns out a Father Fintan Monaghan, a spokesperson for the archdiocese in which this tragedy took place, had a response to this story:

“I suppose we can’t really judge the past from our point of view, from our lens. All we can do is mark it appropriately and make sure there is a suitable place here where people can come and remember the babies that died.”

Yes of course we cannot judge past events based on modern levels of revulsion can we?

In that case we really have no right to judge the American slave owners who fought a war to preserve their right to subjugate human beings, or Nazis who felt that genocide was an appropriate response to their antisemitism, or how can we possibly prosecute criminals thirty years after they murdered somebody, I mean it was such a long time ago and all.

Remember the nuns ran this home for unwed mothers from 1926 to 1961, which was a year after my birth. That is NOT ancient history!

Not only that but the bodies were first discovered by two boys in 1975, yet the response by the church was to have a priest pray over the mass grave and then cover it back up.

That is fucking reprehensible!

And I am not alone in my anger.

Here is what reporter for the Guardian, Emer O'Toole, had to say about this revelation:

Do not say Catholic prayers over these dead children. Don't insult those who were in life despised and abused by you. Instead, tell us where the rest of the bodies are. There were homes throughout Ireland, outrageous child mortality rates in each. Were the Tuam Bon Secours sisters an anomalous, rebellious sect? Or were church practices much the same the country over? If so, how many died in each of these homes? What are their names? Where are their graves? We don't need more platitudinous damage control, but the truth about our history.

Atheist or not, to that I only have to say "Amen!"

(H/T to the Friendly Atheist.)

The bodies of almost 800 children hidden for decades by the Irish Catholic orphanage. Can you say "pro-life?"

Courtesy of Salon:

They have no headstones, no coffins. No memory boxes of toys and photographs. There are nearly eight hundred of them – and counting. They are the 796 babies and young children aged between two days and nine years whose grave, “filled to the brim with tiny bones and skulls,” was found last week in an unmarked site that once housed a septic tank near a County Galway home for unwed mothers.

Local death records show that the children, mostly babies and toddlers, died during the years The Home, run by the Bon Secours Sisters, was in operation — between 1926 and 1961. The causes of death listed include “sicknesses, diseases, deformities and premature births.” A full tally of the bodies has not yet been made, and it’s unknown yet if investigators will find more bodies than the ones whose deaths were recorded.

The grave was first discovered nearly forty years ago. In 1975, two boys playing in the area first uncovered a broken slab that revealed small skeletons underneath. As the Guardian reports, “a parish priest said prayers at the site, and it was sealed once more, the number of bodies below unknown, their names forgotten.” But more recently, local historian Catherine Corless spearheaded a long overdue investigation into what happened to the bodies of those children. She was inspired in part by her own memories of the children from The Home that she grew up with. “They were always segregated to the side of regular classrooms,” she recently told Irish Central. “By doing this the nuns telegraphed the message that they were different and that we should keep away from them. They didn’t suggest we be nice to them. In fact if you acted up in class some nuns would threaten to seat you next to the Home Babies. That was the message we got in our young years.” When Corless contacted the Galway registry to find out how many children had died there, she said the person at the office asked her, “Do you really want all of these deaths?” It was only then she learned the magnitude of her task.

The bodies of 796 children left to rot in a hole in the ground by people who are the very definition of "good Christians. "

The same "good Christians" who will aggressively shame a young woman for choosing to terminate her pregnancy, or choose to utilize birth control, claiming that "all life is a gift from God."

And yet hundreds died in their care. And once dead their bodies were tossed aside like unwanted garbage.

I think this next portion of the article sums up my feelings quite adequately.

Remember all of this the next time someone uses the words “dead babies” to talk about reproductive choice. Tell them there’s a place in Ireland full of dead babies. Babies who were born to women who were exiled from their homes, even if they were pregnant as the result of rape. Babies who were not loved, not cared for, not treated with dignity even when they died. Say that they’ll have a hard time finding that place now, but someday, Catherine Corless hopes, it’ll be easier. She has the names of the children who died at The Home, children whose bodies were cast into the grounds near a septic tank. “I have the full list,” she says, “and it’s going up on a plaque for the site, which we’re fundraising for at the moment. We want it to be bronze so that it weathers better. We want to do it in honor of the children who were left there forgotten for all those years. It’s a scandal.”

Yes, yes this exactly.

The anti-abortion movement taken to extremes.

So this morning I was looking around for something interesting to post, and after finding nothing that really caught my eye I decided to bop on over to crazy town and see what Brancy had posted.

What I read there quite literally made me incredibly uneasy, to the point of being somewhat shocked.

I actually read it twice because I found it so hard to believe.

Here is what was posted:

This is so precious:

“The 10 best hours of my life,” is how Lindsey Dennis describes her short time with Sophia Kyla, born last fall. Lindsey and husband Kevin found out at the 20th week of her pregnancy that Sophia had a brain disorder that is 100 percent fatal. Their heartbreak has been eased by an organization run by volunteers called, Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, whose mottos is “Providing the gift of remembrance photography for parents suffering the loss of a baby.”

“As a more intense grieving began for us, having photos of Sophie when she was alive and well just meant the world to us,” Kevin explains.

What a wonderful organization and a perfect way to celebrate life — no matter how short.

So to be clear this woman went through nine months of  pregnancy just to have ten hours of watching her newborn suffer as its little body slowly died.

And they then had the experience documented through photographs so that they could relive it over and over again.

I don't think I have ever heard of anything so selfish and macabre  in my life.

At twenty weeks they could have chosen to protect their child from future suffering by aborting the pregnancy. But instead they are so aggressively "pro-life" that in their minds it was better to give birth to a child who will never have a chance at life, then to allow the pregnancy to terminate with no pain for the fetus.

As a parent learning that your child had no hope of survival is without a doubt the most painful thing one can imagine, but your decision about what to do next should focus on protecting that child from unnecessary hardship and NOT on your own ideological sensibilities.

It seems the rallying cry of the anti-abortion movement is "To give birth at all cost," but that seems incredibly myopic and unreasonable.

Maybe I am simply not seeing this clearly, so if anybody has a different opinion please share. Because, to be honest, I am unable in this case to see both sides of the issue.

Where the phrase, "You can't judge a book by its cover," comes from.

Remember if you had to wipe away a tear that does not mean you are soft.

It means you are human.

And these are the kinds of stories that make me proud to be a human being.

Young mother turned away at Christian charity has her Christmas saved by Atheist group.

Tiffany Wait and little one.
Courtesy of Press Republican:

Tiffany Wait said she, her husband and their 7-month-old baby went to Bible Baptist Church's Toy Shop on Christmas morning to get gifts for their child, but were met with animosity because Wait did not want to give her baby to the volunteers while she selected gifts.

"I am poor and would not be able to celebrate Christmas this year without their charity," she said. "I went last year and it was a life saver. This year, however, I was treated shockingly bad."

Wait said her baby doesn't like strangers and she'd prefer to be with him. She said the volunteer said it has to be done that way, or the family wouldn't be able to participate.

"I stood there, fighting back tears and asked, 'You would turn a baby away on Christmas?'" said Wait.

The volunteers held their ground, and according to Wait, one woman tried to forcibly take her child.

Eventually, a woman brought a toy out to Wait.

But Wait soon took to the internet, posting her story on various social media sites, and that is when Oklahoma Atheists' Director Red McCall and members of his group set out to save Christmas.

"We had several people donate things and send her money through a PayPal," said McCall. Christmas is a secular holiday now, according to McCall. He said everyone deserves to have a happy holiday.

"The Christians turned my baby and I away, and a group of atheists showed us compassion, kindness, and charity," Wait said. "They brought us toys, dinner, gift cards, donated money and really saved our holiday."

Okay I am not sure what that whole "Let us hold your baby while you look for gifts" thing is all about, but it seems a little odd to me.

Perhaps the young mother misunderstood, or their was some safety concern? I don't know, but clearly it could have been handled differently.

I am glad the Atheists came to her rescue, though to be fair I am sure there were plenty of Christian organization that would have offered help as well.

By the way the head pastor of Bible Baptist said they tried to contact the mother but failed in that attempt. Hopefully that is true, and is not simply a case of CYA.

Christmas should be for everybody, and this Atheist group demonstrated that the spirit of giving is certainly NOT something that simply belongs to the religious.

P.S. By the way if somebody had tried to grab my baby out of my arms what they would have received for Christmas would have been a gaping head wound. Just saying.

According to a British Medical Journal study virgin births happen all of the time. So much for being special Jesus!

"Just admit it mom, you were a slut."
Courtesy of CBS News:

Roughly 1 percent of moms may be virgins -- or so they claim in a new survey.

Virgin birth, or parthenogenesis, typically occurs in non-humans that reproduce asexually, including sharks, Komodo dragons, pit vipers and boa constrictors. The British Medical Journal, which published the study in its latest Christmas issue, points out many retell the birth of Jesus to the Virgin Mary this time of year.

A team of American researchers wanted to find out the frequency this occurred in humans.

“We examined the incidence of virgin pregnancy and birth based on self report of pregnancy and sexual debut, hypothesizing that individual and contextual factors may influence reporting,” wrote the researchers, led by Amy H. Herring, a biostatiscian at UNC’s Gillings School of Global Public Health.

Indeed, that appeared to be the case for some women. The researchers found 0.8 percent of responders gave birth despite being virgins, without the use of any assisted reproductive technology like IVF.

These women were more likely to have signed chastity pledges (31 percent of them) than the non-virgins who reported pregnancies (15 percent).

For the study, researchers surveyed data on almost 7,900 women multiple times over a 14-year period between their adolescent and adult years, each time asking about their sexual and pregnancy histories. They were also asked about their age, religion and knowledge of different birth control methods.

In total, 45 women gave birth while consistently claiming they were virgins.

Wow, so many virgin births. Just imagine if each one wanted to start their own religion.

The majority of Biblical scholars agree that the immaculate conception part of the Jesus story was added much later, however it is still such an important part of the mythology that Christians are willing to go to war with the non-religious over it every holiday season.

However as this study demonstrates virgin births are a dime a dozen these days.

Unless of course the Christians think that a young woman claiming to be carrying a child without ever having KNOWN a man would be lying about that?

Surely they don't think that, do they?

Today's Witless Wailing from Wasilla, this time courtesy of Bristol.

The above image is posted over on the Facebook page of Mama Grizzly's mewling baby factory.

The caption above says "Good Riddance," and below is the sentence, "This is great news!"

There is a link to a HuffPo piece, which states the following:

More than 50 abortion clinics across the country have closed or stopped offering the procedure since a heavy wave of legislative attacks on providers began in 2010, according to The Huffington Post's nationwide survey of state health departments, abortion clinics and local abortion-focused advocacy groups.

At least 54 abortion providers across 27 states have shut down or ended their abortion services in the past three years, and several more clinics are only still open because judges have temporarily blocked legislation that would make it difficult for them to continue to operate. Nebraska and Massachusetts have each added one clinic since 2010, and the other 21 states and the District of Columbia, most of which have not passed new anti-abortion laws since 2010, were unable to accurately count their clinics because their health departments do not license abortion providers separately from other kinds of medical providers. The Huffington Post's tally did not include hospitals that provide abortions.

"This kind of change is incredibly dramatic," said Elizabeth Nash, state issues manager at the Guttmacher Institute, a reproductive health research organization. "What we've been seeing since 1982 was a slow decline, but this kind of change ... [is] so different from what's happened in the past."

The fact that the closing of these clinics, which do far more than simply provide abortions by the way,  is being celebrated by a spoiled, arrogant, over privileged, little bitch is bad enough. But then when you factor in that there are numerous rumors which indicate that both she and her sister have benefited from the services provided by these clinics in the past. it just makes it that much sleazier.

Essentially, much like her turn as the abstinence spokesperson, Bristol is saying "I got mine, now fuck the rest of you!"

By the way also contained in the HuffPo piece are these sad statistics:

While some of the 54 closures were due to unrelated factors, the states that have lost the most clinics over the past three years are the same ones that have seen draconian new abortion restrictions and the biggest cuts to family planning funding. In Texas, which has lost nine clinics, lawmakers have slashed family planning funding in the state budget, required abortion clinics to become ambulatory surgical centers and required abortion doctors to have admitting privileges at a local hospital. Arizona lawmakers passed similar legislation and pushed out a total of 12 providers; the state had 18 abortion clinics in 2010 and now has only six, according to NARAL Pro-Choice Arizona.

"This has turned into a nightmare," said Kat Sabine, executive director of NARAL's Arizona affiliate. "The kind of efforts the women have to take to get family planning or abortion services are just incredible, and you can only get care if you can get out of the community to do it. If you're on a reservation or rural part of the state, unless you have reliable transportation, you're not going to get care."

Only a sociopath celebrates the fact that thousands of young women will now have a far more difficult time getting access to birth control or prenatal care.

At this point I would like to invite any of the numerous young people in Wasilla who know full well just how hypocritical it is of Bristol to be celebrating these closures, to reach out to myself or someone else in the media.

I think it is time past that certain facts were brought out into the open.

I would gladly do it myself, but I need at least one good source with actual firsthand knowledge to come forward first.

Chick-fil-A does not welcome homosexuals nor do they welcome heterosexual boobs. Gee, what's left?

Courtesy of WKRN-TV:

A mom at a Knoxville Chick-fil-A was criticized last week for breastfeeding her five-month-old daughter in the restaurant's play area.

Jennifer Day was not using a cover and an employee approached her after several customers complained.

"An employee came up to me and told me some of the other parents were afraid of allowing their kids to play in the play area while I was feeding her, especially without any cover," she told Knoxville TV station WBIR.

Day said she did not use a cover because her daughter does not like it and would've ripped it off.

It should be noted that the breastfeeding law in Tennessee reads as follows:

68-58-101. Right to breastfeed in any location. — A mother has a right to breastfeed her child in any location, public or private, where the mother and child are otherwise authorized to be present.

§68-58-102. The act of breastfeeding shall not be considered:

(1) Public indecency as defined in §39-13-511; or
(2) Nudity, obscene, or sexual conduct as defined in §39-17-901. §68-58-103.

Whoopsie!

Not only that but it looks as if this Tennessee Chick-fil-A may soon have even more boobs to contend with then just the ones working there.

According to WBIR, several of Day's friends are planning a "nurse in" in response to what happened. Similar to a sit in, they plan to revisit the Chick-fil-A as a group on Wednesday evening and nurse their infants together.

I have to wonder if the same people who complained about seeing a breast at Chick-fil-A are the same ones who go to Hooters for lunch? I bet they are!

Personally I would think it more acceptable to have one breast exposed to feed a baby then to have two silicone injected ones exposed in order to earn tips. But hey, that's just me.

You know I have another question. If Chick-fil-A is so focused on keeping offensive boobs out of their stores, how did these two get served?
