Taking a break from politics to check in on our favorite dysfunctional family.

So from what I can gather this is Dakota and Bristol doing the whole "pretend not to hate each other for the sake of the kids" thing for the Easter holiday.

I've been there.

I am not a body language expert but if Bristol and Dakota were any further apart one of them would not even be in this photo.

It seems to me that Tripp is finishing out the school year in Texas, but I do not know what that means for him going forward.

Bristol however is likely stuck there at least until after the divorce, at which time she will have to decide if she wants to do the long distance parenting thing, or suck it up and stay in a state where she has limited friends and no family.

As for Track Palin, well his hearing has been reset or continued six times now starting way back in January, and the current date is set for May 5th.

In the meantime Track is under house arrest and all of this guns have been taken away.

So I am sure he is having plenty of time to contemplate his actions.

Who are we kidding? He is likely blaming his parents, blaming his exes, and blaming God.

Track is not an introspective person.

New Jersey teenager celebrated 2018 by taking a semi-automatic rifle and killing almost every member of his family.

Courtesy of WPVI-TV:

Minutes before midnight on New Year's Eve, a 16-year-old boy allegedly used a semi-automatic rifle owned by a family member to shoot and kill his parents, sister and a family friend inside the parents' home in a coastal city in New Jersey, the county prosecutor said.

The teen, whose name has not been released, is in police custody in connection with the shooting deaths of his father, Steven Kologi, 44; mother, Linda Kologi, 42; sister, Brittany Kologi, 18; and a family friend, Mary Schultz, 70, who was residing at the Kologi home in Long Branch, New Jersey, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni and a statement from his office.

The teen's brother and grandfather apparently escaped harm. They "thankfully left the home and came out OK," Gramiccioni said at a press conference Monday morning.

Police arrived on the scene shortly after receiving a call from inside the home about shots fired at 11:43 p.m. on Dec. 31, a statement from the prosecutor's office said.

The boy was arrested at the scene without incident, Gramiccioni said.

Boy it sure is a good thing we have that old 2nd Amendment to keep us safe, don't you think?

Just imagine how long it would have taken a teenager in Australia, Germany, or Britain to slaughter his entire family with a kitchen knife or an axe.

Could have taken as long as a half hour, and more of them might have been able to get away.

But not in America by god. When it comes to murder, we have the best tools to make it highly efficient.

Happy Saturnalia!

I actually typically have no problem wishing people a Merry Christmas.

But since Trump decided to brag about bringing Christmas back, I simply had to defy that orange tinted, anus mouthed, POS.

Besides of course Saturnalia was the true holiday before those uptight Christians hijacked it in order to spread their capitalist religion around the world.

And it might never have taken off quite as well if Clement Clarke Moore had not written that poem in 1823, and Coca Cola had not altered the look of St. Nick from this rather grim looking fellow...

....into this jolly elf.

Oh well, stolen celebrations, reinvented historical figures, evil capitalist underpinnings, what does it really matter if we are celebrating with loved ones and taking this opportunity to share our bounty
with the less fortunate?

I love this holiday, and hope that you and yours have a wonderful day.

The humiliation of Ted Cruz.

What Donald Trump said about Ted Cruz and his family was reprehensible.

If it was anybody but Ted Cruz I would certainly be able to drum up a little sympathy.

But I can't.

Well this Blind Item should be a snap to figure out.

Courtesy of Crazy Days and Nights:

Lost in the shuffle the past month or two is this former A+ list celebrity .

All of you know her name so I guess she still has A+ list name recognition. Last year it looked like she would continue her 15 minutes and also find a way to keep on bringing in money to her secret slush funds of cash. Now? Not so much? She got into a private war with the man who was her main backer. She lost a couple of her high paying gigs in front of cameras. She also burned a lot of bridges when she chose the side of the man who has now banished her. Money is drying up quickly. She has massive bills on the home front because she pays the bills for countless family members. At least one of those family members is in trouble legally and PR wise and is always needing people paid off for things he has done. There has been quiet talk about marrying off one of her children to a very wealthy man who could restore the fortunes of this now crumbling empire.

I think besides that very last portion we already knew all of this to be true.

So who do we think she is trying to marry off, Willow of Piper?

Your laugh out loud post of the morning. An article entitled "6 Reasons Millennials Should Bring On The Babies Like Bristol Palin." No it is not a joke.

I first saw this mentioned over on the Grizzled Granny's Facebook page, who actually linked to her new favorite conservative fake news site.

But as it turned out they were actually linking to this site where the article originated.

Here are the 6 reasons given for why millennials should become baby factories like Bristol:

1. You Can Survive Public Shaming

Palin has already endured enough public humiliation to last a lifetime. Most pregnant teens don’t have to deal with both pregnancy hormones and the intense scrutiny of a presidential campaign simultaneously. And if we’re being honest, most of us didn’t have the best taste in high school. We likely wasted time on boys who wouldn’t grow up to be husband and father material. Palin lived it all in the spotlight, and she’s still here. That takes guts.

Okay first off that sounds like it could have been written by that batshit crazy Palin troll Alicia.

Secondly much of Bristol's public humiliation she brought on herself.

I had every intention of ignoring her after her mother lost the 2008 election.

However she then started fighting Levi for custody of his son, appeared in a trashy reality show, wrote a crappy book, and started allowing her mother to use her identity to spread her misinformation on a blog.

That made Bristol fair game in my book.

2. Live Your Values

What? No seriously, what?

I know an awful lot about the Palins, and their values as far as I can tell have always been "Let me get mine and screw the rest of you."

Or perhaps I am not being fair.

Maybe their values were properly demonstrated by Bristol when she told Levi that he would never see his son again if he did not do what she wanted. Or perhaps by Sarah Palin when she lied about the Affordable Care Act having "death panels." Or perhaps by Track Palin when he was beating his girlfriend black and blue.

Are those the values for which Bristol Palin and her family should be celebrated?

3. Learn From Your Mistakes

Really seems like that one took her awhile.

4. Embrace the Blessings of Family

Which Bristol did when she referred to Sailor's conception as a "mistake," even though we are to believe it was a baby created with her then fiance who she eventually married?

Am I misunderstanding the word "embrace" here?

5. Create the Family You Want

Yes whenever possible trick a Medal of Honor winner into marrying you, and rescuing your tabloid style reputation by posing for Instagram pictures indicating that you are a completely changed person now. (Also helps if your mother can hire some no name writer to post an article like this one on your behalf.)

6. Be Patriotic and Multiply

Not everyone wants be a parent, but for those of us who do — and don’t face fertility challenges — it makes sense to max out on the number of children your family can handle emotionally, financially, spiritually, and otherwise. After all, there’s no greater statement of optimism about the future than having a baby.

Okay this one requires a more serious response.

While I would never tell people that they should not have children, the idea of popping them out like bunnies is incredibly selfish considering that our planet is severely overpopulated already and that adding more mouths to feed adds to a burden that we are barely able to handle as it is.

Besides the last thing that civilization needs is more poorly educated, poorly behaved Palin progeny running around.

If I were arrogant enough to offer advice to the Millennials it would be to do almost everything the exact opposite of how Bristol Palin did them.

For instance:

Use birth control when having sex.

Don't tell the world you are a good little Christian while acting the exact opposite in private.

Take responsibility for your mistakes, and don't blame everybody else when they happen.

Actually work for a living and don't live off of the ignorance of others.

Don't keep your children from seeing their other parent.

And finally, educate yourself as much as possible, because the world is becoming an ever more complicated place and ignorant people, while fun to mock, are only going to get to find themselves left behind.

Are just some things I would suggest if I were arrogant enough to offer advice.

Donald Trump is costing New York taxpayers one million dollars a day for security. And THEY didn't even vote for him.

Hah! You elected me, and now it's gonna cost ya!
Courtesy of CNN Money:

Protecting President-elect Donald Trump and his family is costing New York City more than $1 million a day, according to three city officials.

And those costs won't necessarily drop significantly once he moves to the White House.

That's because Melania Trump and their 10-year old son Barron expect to stay at their home at Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan, at least until the end of the school year. And Donald Trump has indicated he plans to return home regularly, especially while they're still here.

Adding to the expense is the cost of police assigned to Trump's adult children and his grandchildren, who are also receiving Secret Service protection, John Miller, NYPD's deputy commissioner of intelligence & counterterrorism, told WCBS Monday. All of them live in the city, and all are entitled to receive Secret Service protection.

This has to be doubly frustrating for resident of New York  since the state went for Hillary in a big way.

And here they are stuck with protecting a man that most of them would probably like to choke to death personally.

But just you wait America, if you think this is bad it will pale in comparison to what he is going to cost the rest of us.

Kansas Christian school retains the right to expel a student if ANY of their family members are gay.

Courtesy of the Independent:

A Christian school in Kansas is at the centre of mounting controversy after it emerged that it reserved the right to expel students if any of their family members were gay or transgender.

A so-called Statement of Understanding sent to parents who wish to send their children to the private school located in Wichita, requires them to agree that a student who attends can he asked to leave if their home life promotes anything “counter to the school’s understanding of a biblical lifestyle”. All pupils and parents are required to sign the document.

“Given the debate and confusion in our society about marriage and human sexuality it is vital that Trinity families agree with and support the school’s traditional, Christian understanding of those issues,” says the document.

“Therefore, when the atmosphere or conduct within a particular home is counter to the school’s understanding of a biblical lifestyle, including the practice or promotion of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) lifestyle or alternative gender identity, the school should have the right, in its sole discretion, to deny the admission of an applicant or discontinue enrollment of a current student.”

Man you really have to hand it to religious fundamentalists, when it comes to deep dark nasty discrimination they have no equal.

Now see to a freethinker like myself the very idea that some school would reject me because they held a prejudice opinion of some member of my family would get their name scratched off my educational wish list so fast I would probably snap my number two pencil in half doing it.

But then again I did not spend my formative years being indoctrinated into a primitive superstitious cult that would make me ignorant enough to even consider attending a school like Trinity Academy.

Taking a break from politics to show images of parenting done right.

Courtesy of Sunny Johnston's Facebook page:

So much fun 🐣🐣🐣(early Easter because it's our week with Tripp)

Look, nobody is pimping any products or taunting out of state parents, just a father making memories with his children.

And it only cost him a little over $100,000 to win that opportunity.

Barack Obama, great President? Perhaps. But greatest dad ever? Definitely!

Courtesy of LA Times:

President Obama says he plans to stay in Washington after the end of his presidency so that his younger daughter can finish high school with her class, a rare disclosure about his family's personal plans.

During a visit with voters in Milwaukee on Thursday, Obama said he wasn't sure where he and wife Michelle Obama would settle down for the long term, but added that they were putting off the decision until daughter Sasha finished at Washington's Sidwell Friends School in spring 2019.

"Transferring someone in the middle of high school — tough," Obama told a group of people gathered to have lunch with him at a Milwaukee restaurant.

I am sometimes impressed by gifted politicians, but great parents are the people I admire the most.

And my admiration for President Obama just went through the roof.

Ho-Ho-Holy crap are we done with this Christmas thing yet?

(Just a family celebrating the conservative tradition of the showing of the firearms to ward off bad spirits and Democrats.)

I know I said earlier today that I love Christmas, and I do. Up to a point.

But right now I am all Jingle Belled the fuck out.

Sure it was fun at first. Visiting the family, opening the presents, bringing up embarrassing stories about my brother's past just to humiliate him.

All good.

But now I'm over it.

For one thing I had to drive all the way out to Palmer, where my mother and brother now live, which meant no holiday beverages. (Uncle Gryphen cannot afford a DUI on his spotless record.)

I'm not saying that drinking alcohol makes every thing better, because everybody already knows that drinking alcohol makes everything better. (Except child rearing of course, not that my father did not give it the old college try.)

Anyhow before I go all Grinch that stole Christmas and harsh everybody's mellow, let me just say that I had a lot of fun today. (You know as much fun as you can have without a drop of alcohol and your brother telling everybody that story about how you used to sing out loud to Bee Gees songs. By the way Too Much Heaven is a classic!)

I got a lot of nice gifts, gave more expensive ones to others so that I looked cool, and enjoyed my visit with my family.

Now I am back home contemplating the upcoming year.

And while I have literally no idea what is in store, I know that it will undoubtedly be a wild ride and I could not imagine a better group of people to share that experience with than all of you.

Happy Holidays! (That's right Fox News I said "Happy Holidays," bite me!)

Chelsea Clinton pregnant again. This is how the daughters of famous politicians are supposed to start, or add to their families.

What? Still married to her first and only husband? Giving birth to her second child and telling the world immediately rather than having the tabloids force her to admit it?

That's just crazy.

The next thing you will say is that her mother is going to publicly congratulate her instead of refusing to acknowledge the blessed event for months.

Well what do you know?

Wait, and her dad too?
Man all I can say is that these three would be laughed right out of Wasilla.

Congratulations to this amazing family.

This probably comes a little too late for most of us today, but here is Stephen Colbert imploring us NOT to talk politics during Thanksgiving.

 Courtesy of Raw Story:

“Please, please — can’t Thanksgiving be the one day of the year when we don’t try and see everything through the lens of politics?” he said. “Don’t get me wrong, there are some things we should see through the lens of politics — for instance, politicians. But (on Thanksgiving), let’s not talk about politics. In the spirit of the first Thanksgiving, hosts just share your food and try not to worry that your guests seem like they’re never going to leave.”

While I understand Colbert's sentiment here, I am afraid that I will not be able to take his advice.

After all this is the one of the few times my family and I will gather together before the 2016 election so of course they will spend much of the evening presenting conspiracy theories, and conservative talking points, that I will then bat down with my superior intellect and command of the facts.

It has become a family tradition that somebody will at some point start a conversation with "Look I know you're a liberal but did you know?" which will be followed by something incredibly ignorant that they saw on Facebook which makes perfect sense if you utilize no critical thinking skills whatsoever.

My job of course is to explain how incredibly stupid that is and what a waste of oxygen they are for believing it, which will then be followed by accusations that I suffer from a superiority complex and look down on everybody. To which I will respond, "Well I wouldn't look down on you if you were not such simple little morons," and then the next thing you know that will all get twisted around to make it seem that I am belittling them.

Which of course I am.

However before the fists start to fly, my mom will announce that dinner is ready, and ask me to please remove my hands from my brother's throat. (She always takes his side!)

I will then carve the turkey, we will fill our plates, and once we have eaten all will be forgiven.

After all simple little morons really cannot think and digest food at the same time.

Happy Thanksgiving my friends. (NONE of whom I believe are "simple little morons.")

Guess which presidential candidate's brother has an Ashley Madison account? Did you guess Chris Christie? Because it's Chris Christie.

Courtesy of the Daily Mail:

Chris Christie's brother had an Ashley Madison account in which he appealed for 'someone to bring some more spice into my life'.

Todd Christie, a married father of five who is working on Chris's bid to be U.S. president, reportedly had sex 'a dozen times' with one woman he met via the cheating website.

InTouch also spoke to a source who revealed that Todd and a woman he met online had sex 'about a dozen times.' '

Todd knows that he‘ll probably lose his family - and that it could cost Chris the Republican nomination,' said the source.

'Chris should not be guilty by association, but Todd's actions will surely be associated with the Christie family's character.'

Well I disagree, I think that this fits right in with what we know about Chris Christie's character.

It may not reveal anything new about the Christie family, but it does help to reinforce what we already think of them.

However should Christie be blamed for his brother's actions?

No of course not.

But will it bang yet another nail into the Christie campaign's coffin?

Oh hell yes!

Is that a good thing for his future in politics?

Probably not.

Is it however good for the country?

Once again, oh hell yes!

"I know how to do this because, yes, I am a Bush." Jeb Bush said that about foreign policy. Right out loud in front of everybody.

"I probably shouldn't have said that."
Courtesy of TPM:

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) on Friday night touted his role as a member of the Bush family while discussing how he would improve the United States' relationship with other countries as president.

"Name a country in the world where our relationship is better today than the day that Hillary of Clinton became secretary of state," Bush said during a speech at the Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference in Michigan, according to CNN.

Bush said that the U.S. might have a better relationship with Iran, Cuba and Burma, but said that ties with countries in the Middle East and Israel have worsened under the Obama administration. The former governor said that he would improve relations with other countries as president.

"I know how to do this because, yes, I am a Bush," he said, according to CNN. "I happened to see two really good presidents develop relationships with other countries."

How can anyone be this disconnected from reality?

Under his brother's administration Americans had to pretend to be Canadian just to travel overseas.

The only countries that seemed to like us better were Israel, because Netanyahu is just as big of a hawk as Dick Cheney, and Saudi Arabia, who loved us so much that they sent fifteen of their people over to help Bush start the war with Iraq that he wanted.

You know when this whole 2016 campaign thing first started I was convinced that in the end it would be Hillary versus Jeb!

Now I don't know what to think.

From now on my go to answer will be, "Beats the hell out of me."

Well it looks like the Johnston family is having a pretty good weekend.

From left to right, Breeze, Indy, Tripp, and some kid I don't know.
Out on some lake or river it looks like. Nice boat back there behind them too.

Damn that Indy is one cute baby isn't she?

Courtesy of Sonny's Facebook page.

Here is Tripp with his "evil stepmother."

When I was out fishing yesterday I asked around a little about Todd, from people who claim to have actually seen them quite often, and was told that nobody has seen hide nor hair of him for quite some time.

I also heard that Sarah has been MIA recently as well.

Things that make you go "Hmmm."

Now disgraced cop who wrote original police report says that Jim Bob Duggar lied about how many girls his son Josh molested.

Courtesy of In Touch:

But Hutchens, in his only interview since the Duggar scandal has been uncovered, says that Jim Bob told him about only one incident of molestation and that, in part, is why he decided not to report Josh to the abuse hotline.

In the new interview from prison, Hutchens said he was told by Jim Bob and Josh that “Josh had inappropriately touched [redacted] during the time she was asleep. He said he touched her through her clothing and he said it only happened one time.”

He said the fact that it was a one-time incident influenced his decision not to report it. “I did what I thought was right and obviously it wasn’t,” he says. “If I had to do it over again, I would have told him immediately I am going to call the hotline and contacted the trooper that worked those cases and have a full report made. I thought I could handle it myself.

“I have lost a lot of sleep over it. I am a Christian myself and I worry that something else may have happened. I would be responsible for it, in my opinion, by not reporting it. The young girl should have been my first priority.”

Man this case just keeps getting worse and worse doesn't it?

I know this police officer, now in jail for possessing child pornography, has a credibility issue, but In Touch magazine swears that was not paid for this interview, and I tend to believe that he is more than likely telling the truth.

So let's see, falsifying a police report, lying about seeking counseling for your son, failing to protect your children from a sexual predator, and actively campaigning to fight laws protecting the LGBT community by falsely accusing them of the same behaviors practiced by a member of your own family.

Boy this family just has Christian values written all over it don't they?

Mormon sidewalk band turns Arizona Wal-Mart parking lot into the OK Corral.

Courtesy of Facebook
From Raw Story:

The suspects in a fatal brawl with police outside an Arizona Wal-Mart have been identified as a family from Idaho who had apparently been living in a vehicle in the store’s parking lot for days before the melee, authorities said on Tuesday.

Five adults and one juvenile were booked on multiple charges stemming from the fight that erupted late on Saturday in Cottonwood after police responded to a report that a female Wal-Mart employee was assaulted by multiple suspects.

Police said the officers were immediately attacked by the suspects in the parking lot and that during the fracas, 21-year-old Enoch Gaver was shot and killed, while his brother David Gaver, 28, was shot in the abdomen.

One police officer, 31-year-old Sergeant Jeremy Daniels, was also shot and remains in a hospital in Flagstaff, about 45 miles away. Daniels, a 10-year veteran of the Cottonwood Police Department, is expected to make a full recovery.

Several of the family members were arrested for Aggravated Assault and Attempted Homicide, including the parents, three of their children (All in their late twenties.), and an unidentified juvenile.

Here is the part that I found particularly interesting:

Several of the Gavers were sidewalk musicians who perform in a Mormon band called Matthew 24 Now.

Mormon street musicians who engage in shootouts with the police? Whatever happened to riding their bikes in a suit and tie and going overseas to proselytize to the French?

But what am I saying? This is Arizona.

Apparently in Arizona even the Mormon street musicians are packing heat.

I'm not sure, but I don't think this is how you become a god and get your own planet.

Chuck Heath Jr's list of "Ten Things Sarah Palin is Lacking" is laugh out loud funny.

So Chuckie has decided that his road to success lies in kissing his sister's ass even harder, has decided to post a list of what he considers tongue in cheek things Palin is lacking which attract criticism.

Just to make sure it has virtually no impact he places this list on that "Sarah Palin's Earthquake Movement" Facebook page, put together by the simplest morons on the planet who still cannot get it through their heads that Palin is NEVER running for president.

Here is the opening:

For the past five years, I’ve watched, listened to, and read viscous (I am pretty sure he meant vicious here, but he is a Palin so I'll let it slide. Remember folks HE'S a teacher.) comments directed at my sister Sarah. These attacks are usually based on things those that want to destroy her feel she is lacking. I thought I’d help the haters out by compiling my own list. I hope this helps!

Oh look he is using middle school language and calling her critics "haters" as well. So mature.

Ten Things That Sarah Palin is Lacking:

#1-Pedigree: Sarah was born into a low-income family with no political connections. Everything she’s achieved has been through her own hard work. (Okay this is true. After all at one point Palin was a governor of Alaska and had an actual political future. But then through hard work she became known as a half-term quitter, a reality show has been, the producer of books that don't sell, and the matriarch of a family of losers who are now famous for starting drunken brawls. So many achievements.)

#2-Soft hands: Sarah has continually worked to provide for herself and her family, whether it was as a commercial fisherman, a hunter, a waitress, etc., she’s never been afraid to get her hands dirty.

(Well they're old and gnarled right now, and she tends to use them as flesh covered post it notes, but they look fairly soft and callous free to me. I call bullshit.)

#3-Sleep: I watched Sarah work 15-20 hours a day, seven days a week as governor. Her stamina amazes everyone close to her. (One should never confuse Red Bull induced hyperactivity and facial tics with stamina. And according to Levi she came home in the middle of the day, and I would trust his take on her work ethic over a brother desperate to hitch a ride on her coattails any day. Especially since that was also backed up by her security chief Gary Wheeler and others as well.)

#4-A golf handicap: Although she loves the game, you would never see Sarah spending countless hours on the links during a position of leadership. (Well we're at number four so it must be time to attack the President. Who, by the way, seems to be able to play golf AND not quit his job at the same time.)

#5-Shady friends: Sarah has no ties to known domestic terrorists, and no wealthy foreign friends that financed trips for her overseas. (No ties to domestic terrorists? Has he never heard of Schaeffer Cox? As for "shady friends" perhaps Chuckie is hoping that nobody has read this Salon article from October 2008.)

#6-Hidden college transcripts: Her school records have always been open to the public. (Now this is simply bullshit. NOBODY has seen any of  Palin's school transcripts, including the diploma she supposedly received after finishing college. Trust me I looked.)

#7-A perfect family: Despite hardships that almost every American family faces, Sarah has kept her head up and focused on the positive, and she’s always been there to help us when we’ve needed her. (Seriously? Literally in every book written about Palin, that was not written by somebody paid to make her look good, contains reports of her incredibly poor parenting. And anybody needing further proof of that need only here the police audio of the drunken brawl. "Don't cuss Swillow.")

#8-Friends in the media, Hollywood, and rap music: The vast majority of Hollywood stars and the mainstream media have done everything in their power to destroy her. No major network newsman has ever said that he gets a tingle up his leg when he thinks of her. (Oh they used to get tingles alright. It was just a littler further north than the leg. As for friends in Hollywood didn't producer Mark Burnett help Palin land a reality show, and didn't Bristol stay in his house in Hollywood?)

#9-A lack of respect for the Constitution: Sarah has always looked at the Constitution as a brilliant blueprint for America; a document that clearly lays out a separation of powers so that no one person or group of people have absolute power. (Okay well Palin's ignorance of the Constitution is well documented. She respects it just like she respects the Bible. Which is another thing she has never read and could not possibly understand.)

#10-A doubt in our Creator: Every big decision Sarah makes has been based on prayer. (Which explains why she never misses a Sunday at church. Oh wait, that's right she never goes.)

I wonder if your lips get chapped kissing this much ass?

I can hardly wait for Chuckie's next top ten list.

My suggested title; "Ten lies I tell people about my sister so they will give me money."

Sunny and Levi had their baby today.

The new baby's name is Indy Rae Johnston.

Now all they have to do is work out this custody arrangement with Tripp and it should be smooth sailing ahead.
