The things you find on Reddit. Today's topic: Incels.

Here is the post.

Gee, no wonder these guys have a problem with women.

I first heard this term "Incel" when somebody used it to label me.

I quite literally had no idea what they were talking about, but I looked it up:

Incel: aka "involuntarily celibate", a person (usually male) who has a horrible personality and treats women like sexual objects and thinks his lack of a sex life comes from being "ugly" when its really just his blatant sexism and terrible attitude. incels have little to no self awareness; even when they see other "ugly" men with girlfriends, they consider these men to be tricksters who have somehow beat the system and can get women despite being cursed with unattractiveness (in other words, theyre respectful to women and women are attracted to their personalities, but incels cant comprehend such a phenomenon). they believe that women owe them sex, and many of the more extreme incels like to spend time in incel communities on the internet coming up with ways to make women have sex with them (often involving genocide of people of color, genocide of "Chads" (men who have sex), taking rights away from women, raping them, having sex with women's dead bodies, and other horrid, disgusting things. they cant understand that that is PRECISELY why women want nothing to do with them).

Okay, well there are plenty of derogatory things I could be called, that might actually reflect my character in some way, but this ain't it.

Apparently that recent attack in Canada is being blamed on one of these losers.

Men hating on women is certainly nothing new, and this does nothing more than put a new label on an age old problem.

For the record nobody owes anybody sex, or even affection.

Those are things you earn.

And relationships, no matter how awesome they may begin, often end with hurt feelings and even outright anger.

I have certainly been there myself.

But to hate on an entire gender just because you are unlucky at love, is certainly never going to convince that gender that you are worthy of their time or affection.

You have to try to be a better you, before you can expect others to be a better them.

Facebook is now banning women for criticizing men. Wait, what?

Courtesy of the Daily Beast:

When comic Marcia Belsky sarcastically replied “men are scum” to a friend’s Facebook post back in October, she never anticipated being banned from the platform for 30 days.

That was exactly what happened.

Belsky was shocked at the severity of the punishment considering her relatively innocuous comment, and immediately spoke to her fellow female friends about the ordeal. They could relate.

In the wake of the #MeToo movement, countless women have taken to Facebook to express their frustration and disappointment with men and have been promptly shut down or silenced, banned from the platform for periods ranging from one to seven days.

Women have posted things as bland as “men ain’t shit,” “all men are ugly,” and even “all men are allegedly ugly” and had their posts removed. They’ve been locked out of their accounts for suggesting that, since “all men are ugly,” country music star Blake Shelton “winning the sexiest man isn’t a triumph.”

“I personally posted men are scum in November and I received a seven day ban. It’s still ongoing. Two days and 23 hours left,” said comedian Alison Klemp.

What the fuck Facebook?

Please do not try to protect men.

"Men are shit, all men are ugly?" These are what they consider examples of criticism that men cannot handle?

We say nastier shit than that just to wind each other up all of the time.

Trust me men need to be criticized. And if they can't take it they need to stop calling themselves men.

Female Texas Representative introduces bill that would fine men for masturbating.

Courtesy of the Dallas News:

If state Rep. Jessica Farrar has her way, men in Texas will pay a $100 fine for "unregulated masturbatory emissions" and undergo a digital rectal exam to get a vasectomy, a colonoscopy or a Viagra prescription.

Farrar's proposed legislation, filed last week, calls on the Department of State Health Services to explain the rules in an illustrated booklet titled "A Man's Right to Know."

Sound familiar? The Houston Democrat's bill is a satirical version of a Texas law passed in 2011 that requires women to have a sonogram and hear a detailed description of the fetus before getting an abortion. Those rules are outlined in a booklet produced by the state called "A Woman's Right to Know."

"A lot of people find the bill funny," Farrar told the Houston Chronicle. "What's not funny are the obstacles that Texas women face every day, that were placed there by legislatures making it very difficult for them to access health care."

As a supporter of women's rights I am all in favor of this.

As a man however I am deeply disturbed by even the idea of this.

Which one would assume is the point.

Besides what do I care? You could not get me to visit Texas at gunpoint.

Elizabeth Warren has a message for Donald Trump: "Nasty women have really had it with guys like you."

Courtesy of HuffPo:

Speaking at a rally in Manchester, New Hampshire, Warren sharply criticized Trump’s boasts about sexually assaulting women, his disparaging remarks about women’s appearances, and other sexist comments he’s made over the years.

“Donald Trump aggressively disrespects more than half the human beings in this country,” Warren said. “He thinks that because he has money, that he can call women fat pigs and bimbos. He thinks that because he is a celebrity that he can rate women’s bodies from one to 10. He thinks that because he has a mouth full of Tic-Tacs, he can force himself on any women within groping distance.”

“Well I’ve got news for you, Donald Trump. Women have had it with guys like you. And nasty women have really had it with guys like you,” Warren continued.

Okay I'm going to spare you my rant about how great it would have been if Warren was Hillary's VP, but I will say that this woman is SO damn good at hitting Trump right where he is the most vulnerable that I cannot help but have a moment of regret that she is not standing side by side with Hillary at the top of the ticket.

The best weapon to use against a serial molester and misogynist is a strong woman who shows no fear while speaking up for all of the women who he has belittled, humiliated, and assaulted over the years.

It is empowering, and I have little doubt that women all over the country are hearing these words from Warren and realizing that their vote will send a message to ALL of the men who have treated women like they only existed for their entertainment that there is a new day in America.

And that new day will be welcomed by this country's very first female President.

Jane Fonda warns of violence if Hillary Clinton is elected President.

Courtesy of the Daily Mail:

The actress and social activist warned that the former Secretary of State would face backlash from the nation's 'toxic masculinity' if she were to become the first female President of the United States.

'One of the things we have to do is help men understand why they are so threatened, and change the way we view masculinity. We have a toxic masculinity and that's what needs to be addressed.'

'I think that deep down, people feel [Clinton] can hit the ground running, even if she may not be the perfect candidate for a lot of people,' she said. 'She's had the experience. The world right now is so complicated — she has the background to deal with all the complications.'

Of course Jane Fonda is another person that the conservatives love to hate (Remember Hanoi Jane?) but she is probably not wrong here.

I personally think that if Trump does not win the GOP nomination there will be violence no matter who wins the Democratic nomination. But I agree that Hillary will attract even more hatred than the old Democratic Socialist Jew will.

That fact is already on full display among the Trump supporters.
But does that mean we DON'T elect Hillary Clinton?

Hell no, it means if she is our candidate that we work even harder to get her elected.

After all did the fact that making Barack Obama our President really, really pissed off the racists stop us from voting for him?

"Girls are like apples." I'm sorry, what?

Courtesy of Raw Story:

Perhaps one of the most disturbing images on the Internet recently comes from the Christian fundamentalist website, “Let Them Marry.” Formerly called, “True Love Doesn’t Wait (It Marries)”, the pro-early marriage site is a Quiverfull ministry dedicated to teaching fathers the truly biblical path to marriage for their young sons and daughters.

Nothing like treating women  as if they are objects for men barter and trade amongst themselves, don;t you think?

After all how scandalous to think that they are human beings as well, capable of choosing the life that want to lead, and with whom they might want to live it.

Rising gun sales have less to do with self defense and fear of terrorism, and more to do with male insecurities.

Courtesy of Quartz:

As Harry Brod, a sociologist and a founding figure in the field of men’s studies, explains to Quartz, “We’re talking about masculinity in a period of rising feminism and changing gender roles.” Women are leaning in. Hillary Clinton might be our next president. The patriarchy is far from finished, but men on the lower end of the socioeconomic spectrum especially are feeling threatened.

Idealizing a physical masculinity can help negate this feeling. Gun marketers know this and so they appeal to male self-image to sell their weapons. In ads that ran in 2012, for instance, Bushmaster Firearms promised that if you buy their semi-automatic weapons, you can “consider your man card reissued.”

This might also explain why gun sales spike less after a shooting than after calls for stricter control: For men who look to guns to validate their sense of masculinity, the prospect of restrictions imposed by an external authority is disempowering and emasculating.

Aha! We've been saying this for years now!

No wonder Hillary Clinton scares these conservative white men so much. She makes them feel insecure and as if being a man is no longer the shortcut to power and control that it once signified.

And the evidence is certainly mounting that the more emasculated a man feels the more desperate he is to find a metallic penis extender to replace his own rapidly deflating member.

So from now one when you see assholes like this...

...just nod knowingly and go on with your day.

Analysis shows that the vast majority of females on the Ashley Madison website for cheaters were probably fake.

Courtesy of CBS News:

An analysis of the user data on millions of people exposed by the massive hack of AshleyMadison.com has concluded that a vast majority of the accounts supposedly belonging to women were inactive and possibly fake.

Despite its popularity among men, with 31 million male users (including some using official government email addresses), the site for people looking to have an affair had only 5.5 million registered female users. Now, an investigation into the user data by tech site Gizmodo reveals that even that small proportion of women was probably wildly inflated by the company.

The names, email addresses and other personal information on the site's users was dumped online earlier this month after Ashley Madison executives refused to give into demands by a hacker group calling itself "Impact Team."

Annalee Newitz of Gizmodo downloaded the data and looked at the trends of both male and female user accounts on the site and wrote an extensive analysis of the records.

"When you look at the evidence, it's hard to deny that the overwhelming majority of men using Ashley Madison weren't having affairs," Newitz wrote. "They were paying for a fantasy."

You know I am a guy, and I know I'm supposed to stand up for my gender, but the fact is that sometimes we are incredibly stupid and gullible.

You know when I first started seeing advertisements for this site I had my doubts that it could really be used to find anonymous sex.

However the main reason I was not a member is not necessarily because I am some super moral person, but rather because I am way too cheap to pay money for sex.

And I am way, way too cheap to pay for sex that never happens.

Look I know that men fantasize, as do women, and most of the time that is perfectly okay.

We all do it, don't lie.

However when it takes money away from your family, and encourages you to look elsewhere for the kind of lovemaking that you partner may be secretly dying to provide, that is kind of inexcusable.

This Ashley Madison hack might just turn out to be a great thing in the long run. It will make men stop trusting websites to provide them with fantasy lovers, and it might convince some couples to communicate more honestly and find that the fantasy they have been looking for has been sleeping next to them all along.

The average gun owner is white, 55 years of age, and apparently from Alaska. Wait, what?

Courtesy of HuffPo:

After a shooting in Charleston, South Carolina claimed nine lives, President Barack Obama called for the nation to come to terms with the fact that no other advanced country in the world suffers mass shootings as frequently as the U.S. It won’t be until we acknowledge this basic truth, he said, that we’ll realize we have the power to put an end to gun violence.

But that won’t happen until we learn more about the culture that drives gun ownership in the first place, according to Dr. Bindu Kalesan, a gun violence researcher at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health. In a first step toward understanding who the typical American gun owner is, as well as the role guns play in their lives, she conducted a nationally representative online survey of 4,000 U.S. adults in 2013. The findings, published Monday in the journal Injury Prevention, reveal a wide range of gun ownership rates across the country as well as the profile of an average gun owner in America.

He’s white, married or divorced, high income, and over 55 years old. Unsurprisingly, he’s also more than twice as likely to be a member of “social gun culture” than those who don't own firearms. In all, almost one in three Americans owns at least one gun, but gun ownership rates vary widely across states. At 61.7 percent, Alaska has the highest rate of gun ownership, while Delaware has the lowest, at 5.2 percent.

HuffPo goes on to define “social gun culture” as a phenomenon in which friends or family would think less of you if you didn’t own a gun, and if your social life with friends and family involved guns.

Which to me sounds pretty accurate. And I certainly know people like that up here.

I have to admit that I am a little wigged out by a study about gun ownership that describes me so accurately.

Yes, I am white, 55 years old, and living in the state with the highest gun ownership in the country.

However I would not characterize myself as having a high income, and more importantly I DO NOT OWN ANY GUNS!

The article goes on to offer this chart which demonstrates that more gun ownership equals more gun deaths.

Which is a fact I know, which is why I DON'T OWN ANY GUNS!

Look I don't have any idea what it is about holding onto a piece of metal that we are conditioned to equate with male dominance and power that men find so appealing.

But I guess that might be due to the fact that the source of my own self confidence is more internal and not something that I can buy at the local Wal-Mart while I am out shopping for a new toilet plunger.

More than twice as many states make you wait before getting an abortion, than states that have mandatory wait periods before purchasing a gun.

Courtesy of Vocativ:

After North Carolina’s approval last week of a 72-hour wait period for abortion, Vocativ compared restrictions on terminating a pregnancy and buying a firearm. We found that more than twice as many states require wait times for abortion than guns. There are only 10 states, plus the District of Columbia, that require gun wait times, which range between 24 hours and 14 days. Those are California, Hawaii, Illinois, Rhode Island, Minnesota, Florida, Iowa, Maryland, New Jersey and Wisconsin.

The rest of ‘em? They let you purchase a gun as fast as the seller can run a background check. When it comes to abortion, there are 26 states that make you wait anywhere from 18 to 72 hours. In short, you have to wait longer to buy a gun than get an abortion, but you’re much more likely to have to wait for the latter.

Does that seem especially fucked up to anybody else?

Especially since I would imagine that women getting abortions spend significantly more time contemplating that decision than people who decide to purchase a firearm.

But hey it's America, where the rights of an unborn zygote seems to always have precedent over the rights of people not wanting to get shot by some mentally ill 2nd Amendment type.

Or perhaps it's just because usually it's men buying guns, and well we all know which gender needs access to abortions. Right?

Bill Maher calling for the banning of fraternities on last night's Real Time.

At one point Maher refers to fraternities as "cults" and I couldn't agree more.

Now since there were no fraternities in the two colleges that I occasionally attended in my youth, I do not have first hand knowledge of  what goes on inside one of them.

But I read. And most of what I have learned is that they are often the kind of place you don't want your son to join, or your daughter to wake up inside of after a night of drinking.

In my experience the more guys you add to a group the lower the combined IQ and the higher the instance of stupid, potentially illegal, male behaviors.

You know kind of like the military. And the priesthood.

New anti-abortion campaign features Christian men crying over the abortions they "allowed" their past lovers to get.

Courtesy of TPM:

In a video entitled "The Apology," three Christian men apologize to women for allowing them to have an abortion and for not putting up a fight "for the opportunity to save a child."

The video, released by the faith-based Heroic Media, begins with melancholy music and features three men who lament that women in their lives have had abortions.

"I conceded to an abortion," Pastor Shane Idleman says. "That decision still haunts me today."

Against a montage of giggling, joyful children and babies, the men discuss how much they regret the decision and take responsibility for letting down God, women and their unborn children.

"I should've manned up and I should've fought for you and -- I didn't," John Blandford says. "I didn't."

Then come the apologies to all women who have had an abortion, women who have been "subjected to such a terrible thing," women who "no one tried to rescue," and women who have "tried to hide this from everyone."

You know as entertaining as it is to watch these men faking an emotional breakdown in order to pressure women into having babies that they are unable, or unwilling to care for, the part they seem to be forgetting is that unless they were married to these women there was no "conceding" to the abortion. That decision was up to the person who was pregnant, not the man too careless to even wear a condom.

And as for all that apologizing to women at the end for the fact that they were allowed to get abortions, are you kidding me?

I have known a number of women over the years who have had abortions, and I can honestly say that for the vast majority of them they don't even think about it anymore, and all went on to have healthy happy families when they felt they were ready to do so.

As I have written before I was once instrumental in helping a high school friend go to the clinic to get an abortion (It wasn't mine.), and I never once felt it was my right to suggest what she should do with her body, and the tiny life that was growing within.

And neither did these men. That is unless they were willing to marry the women and offer to help raise the as yet unborn the child. Which, it sounds to me, was not something they were willing to offer.

So essentially these men are faking emotional suffering over the fact that they did not force a woman they knocked up to give birth to their offspring before they skipped town and left her with all of the responsibilities.

If they really wanted to take responsibility for their actions, the time to have done that was BEFORE they had unprotected sex and put these women in a position where they had to make the choice of whether to have their little bastard or not.

Damn, there is some serious arrogance on display here.

Manly man creates manly testosterone infused Facebook like site just for men. Threatens the lives of any women who dare sign up on it. So manly.

Can't you just feel the manliness oozing off of him ladies?
Courtesy of Raw Story:

The founder of a men’s only social media site modeled on Facebook issued a warning this week threatening the lives of women who attempt to sign up.

The creator of ‘Manbook,’ identified as Joschua Boehm — but who also uses the names Peter Nolan, Peter-Andrew: Nolan, and Joschua-Brandon: Boehm — wrote on his newly-launched site, “We would ask you women to respect our rights as you wish your rights to be respected. If you are unwilling to respect our right to freedom of association do not expect men to respect your right to life. Ok?”

Boehm, who has a history of online anti-woman rhetoric, also maintains a website called Crimes Against Fathers where he “names and shames” women he believes have perjured themselves when leveling accusations of rape, sexual assault, or pedophilia against men.

Hey look I'm a guy (No seriously I just went to empty my bladder and I am fairly certain I saw man parts.), and as a guy I also think that sometimes guys get a raw deal from women.

However I also realize that it is NOTHING compared to the raw deal that women get from men, and the misogynistic culture that supports men.

So if a guy wants to make a place that only guys hang out, go for it. (After all I had a cool boys only fort when I was a kid, but then I turned nine and it has been all about the ladies ever since.)

But THIS guy is not just a guy trying to establish a masculine corner of the internet for himself, this guy is a straight up doucheknozzle, who has a real ingrained hatred toward women.

Why else would he print veiled threats like the one up above?

And check this quote out for instance:

“So. Ladies. Learn what a right is and do not be violating the rights of other people, especially men, if you are not prepared to have your rights violated in return. Ok?”

Yeah clearly this is a guy that has not been intimate with a woman he was not paying to touch him in quite some time.

Hey but it's a free internet so if he wants to create a place where he and his fellow woman haters can get together and tell each other that there is nothing wrong with them, and that all women are bitches, then more power to him.

However if he thinks that women are not going to visit his page under an assumed name, monitor what they say and then mock them, well then he is in for a very unpleasant surprise.

And what I would really like this asshole to do is to stop making the rest of us look bad. Because REAL men are not so afraid of women that they hide themselves away and threaten anybody with girly parts who dares to come close.

I'm just saying.

Bristol Palin finally uses her blog for something useful. As a way to find men. Update!

Courtesy of Brancy's blog:

Will somebody please find me one of these??

There’s a new trend in men’s style, and I’m loving it!

You’ve all heard of the ridiculous “metrosexual,” the well-groomed guy who cares more about shaping his eyebrows that I do, has liberal political views, and might even carry a man purse?

Please.

Meet the “lumbersexual” – he smells like wood. Loves being out in nature. Wears a full beard, leather boots, denim, plaid — and of course, flannel. (“It’s like Ron Swanson mixed with Ryan Gosling,” the article said.)

Well, this is what a man should look like!

I’m not the trendiest person, but I would welcome this one with open arms.

Well somebody is certainly putting it out there aren't they?

So Bristol is on the make again? And this is the kind of guy she is looking for with open......arms?

Now why does this seem familiar to me?

Oh yeah.

Well you know some things just never change.Update: To be fair this is the photo that Brancy used on the original post.

The one I used was just what I found when I Googled "Lumbersexual."

Sorry if that confused anyone.

Men react to seeing childbirth for the first time.

I remember taking a class on childbirth back when my future permanent roommate was just a tiny belly bump and a generous. and much appreciated, swelling of her mother's breasts.

During the class we were shown a video of a vaginal childbirth and I had much the same reaction depicted in the video above. Afterward they also showed us a caesarian birth and I, a huge fan of horror films, suddenly felt faint and had the almost overwhelming desire to flee the country.

Fortunately for me the birth itself was nowhere near as traumatizing, and I managed just fine.

Of course it kind of helped that the purple slimy thing that emerged from my once upon a time favorite place was my own child and that she looked up at me with baby blue eyes that immediately stole my heart.

And it remains stolen to this day.

Why yes, yes it does.

And surprisingly enough not only do many religious women accept their status as subservient to men, they actually drag their daughters to church so that they can be indoctrinated as well.

You know it is almost as if the entire religion was formed simply to oppress women and give men an unhealthy feeling of superiority over them.

Apparently we are facing a new terrorist threat in this country. Feminists. I'm sorry, what?

Courtesy of Salon:

Men’s rights activists have raised $25,000 to provide additional security for an upcoming conference because, “We’ve had ongoing problems with the feminist establishment, which is a multibillion-dollar hate industry, for years,” according to men’s rights blogger Dean Esmay.

The money will be used to hire seven off-duty police officers to provide security for the event. The hotel hosting the conference in Detroit, Michigan sent a letter to organizers requesting the additional security and expressed concerns about the safety of its employees and guests related to threats of violence. Police were contacted about the conference, but a spokesperson said they had not received “any word about threats.”

The letter does not say from whom the threats came, but the men’s rights activists behind the conference are pretty sure they are from feminists. Because they like to blame feminists for pretty much everything. As Abby Ohlheiser at the Wire points out, A Voice For Men’s homepage currently links to a petition to ”class feminism as a terrorist group.”

By the way this is a sentence taken from this idiot's website:

The old saying goes, you can’t fight city hall. That may be true, but it’s nothing compared to fighting titty hall. Not even close.

Oh yeah, clever. Okay I admit that I have had a rocky marriage...or two...and I have even had a stalker...or six....but calling women terrorists, and paying for security out of fear of them, is pretty damn unmanly in my book.

You know I keep reading about this resurgent misogyny, demonstrated by the UCSB killer, and the anger from tech communities toward feminists, but I have to say that I don't get it.

We live in a time when the objectification is women is only a mouse click away, and every female pop star dresses like a stripper and virtually every movie queen has shed their tops at least a handful of times on film in order to satisfy the carnal desires of the male demographic.

So I guess I don't understand why there are men who suddenly stumble a few steps back along the evolutionary trail if ALL women do not offer to make them a sandwich, or want to be treated like everyday human beings.

Maybe I missed a meeting of "Assholes Anonymous."

Personally I do not understand men who don't appreciate strong women, or who fear their independence. If you are confident, and sure of yourself, you want to surround yourself with people of equal confidence and self awareness.

If you are not that assured about your masculinity then I guess you would resort to surrounding yourself with security, use religion to beat women into submission, or walk around like this....

...and fire your metallic penis at targets like this.

Source
Maybe I just don't understand since I was raised by a headstrong single mother who would NEVER allow herself to be subjugated by a man.

Bummer! I guess that means I don't get to join their cool "No Gerlz Allowed" club.

Purity Balls part deux.

Courtesy of the You Tube page:

Witness smaller and bigger girls swear allegiance to their dads. Fundamentalist Christians convince daughters to avoid all contact with boys until they're married. By going on a date to a ball and exchanging vows and a ring, the girls promise to abstain completely from any and all interaction with the opposite sex.

"It's the right thing to do, and the Lord wants us to do it." Says the clearly brain washed young lady.

The video up above is from 2007. At that time this was a phenomena that was fairly isolated.

But as we learned in Friday's post these balls now takes place in 48 of the 50 states.

In other words this kind of creepy incestuously tinged religious control is being leveraged against young girls all over the country.

All in the name of Christianity, and ancient superstitions about the value, and bargaining power, of virginity.

Remember in ancient times a "soiled" young woman, who had allowed her virtue to be stolen away, was worth nothing to the father seeking to use her as a bargaining chip to gain access to wealth and position.

While the young man was encouraged to sow his wild oats and bed as many wenches as he could, the woman was expected to remain chaste until given, like a prized farm animal, to her future husband. Who would then treat her as his possession for the remainder of her life.

Such is the value of "virtue" in ancient times.

But what's the excuse for this continued overreach by a modern day father into his daughter's potential love life?

P.S. By the way according to this (5:35) 82% of these young ladies will break their vow of chastity before marriage.

Just imagine the kind of emotional pain that must cause them. To feel they have failed their church, their God, and their Daddies.
